Qosmio G10-133 Drivers for Other Devices

Hi peeps.
Yes I know this is an old laptop. I recently had to re-install the software due to hard drive failure. I always have problems. Toshiba installed a new motherboard years ago with the upgraded video chipset Nvidia Geforce Go 6600. Since then I have always had problems reinstalling using original disks. I have never been able to reinstall the Qosmio Player and always end up with the laptop rebooting after software was installed and going to blue screen of death. I have now given up with the qosmio player and the install disks (Windows MCE) and just install Windows XP. However here is the problem:
Under Device Manager I get a couple of errors:
Other Devices states MULTIMEDIA VIDEO CONTROLLER as not working.........what an earth is this and where do I find the driver?
UNKNOWN DEVICE as not working.................................what on earth can this be and what drivers?

Hi again,
I went and did what you suggested, but it can't find a vendor and the 2nd item is unknown. The "System" showed the following:
System Information report written at: 02/13/11 09:19:59
System Name: QOSMIO
[Problem Devices]
Device PNP Device ID Error Code
Multimedia Video Controller PCI\VEN_4444&DEV_0016&SUBSYS_00011179&REV_01\4&AD1 B67F&0&48F0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
Not Available ACPI\TOS6205\2&DABA3FF&0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
I couldn't find vendor 4444. I assume that the problem is that my motherboard is different to the one my disks are for. To get the graphics card to work I had to download the drivers for the g20 model not the g10. (I assume that this is due the original being an nvidia 5900 and this board has nvidia 6200.

  • Qosmio F55-Q504 Drivers for XP

    Hello everybody,
Please help. I have three questions:
    1. May be somebody's already met problems with drivers for XP for F55. I bought F55 with Vista, installed XP but I've found drivers for WiFi and nVidia only and I was not able to find drivers for other devices unfortunately. On the official site thare are drivers for Vista only and there is not BIOS version for XP too. May be somebody knows where I can find them.
    2. Together with the laptop there were no any CDs and recovery or reinstallation Vista is possible from HDD recovery partition only. For instance if I'm afraid to break recovery partition by my experiments with XP installation or Vista reinstallation and I want to make copy of the whole HDD to another one or to make copy of one partition. Is it possible? Did anybody try to do that? I tried to copy the whole HDD with Vista or separate partiotions (recovery partitions including) - the new HDD or partition is not loaded. I tried several time - there is no positive result. Is there any copy protection software on Toshiba's HDD? And how to make HDD copy to avoid data lost?
    3. F55 has GPS and preinstalled Garmin Mobile PC? Turn-by-Turn Navigation? trial version. While loading the Garmin Mobile asks to enter key. Where can I find the key for this trial version? There are no any CD, sticker or box with the key. And who knows is there email support from Toshiba? On the official site there are some phones only but I can't call them I need e-mail.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Good day,
Thanks a lot for reply and usefull answer.
I downloaded drivers according to your links and some of them were really good. I tried to install some other drivers desighed for Vista and I had a success. Now I have two device only in device manger which are unknown. These are Audio Device on HD Audio Bus (it likes you described, driver for Vista is not suitable) and a SM host controller (I don't know what's that but it's not cardbus controller). I'll try find somthing for them.
And drivers installation arises new questions:
    a. Of course my control buttons (fn and dolby, play/pause etc.) don't work. You've written: "And I miss also the program that made the touch buttons work. Seems there is no equivalent for XP. As for Config Free program try to use a XP version of the program that is made for a Satellite A series laptop. For me it worked." Please explain what's Config Free? Before I had thought that to make above buttons operating I have to downgrade my BIOS version. But on the official site there are two BIOS version only and both of them are for Vista. Unfortunately there is nothing for XP. Is it really that Config Free is software which can force control buttons to work without BIOS downgrading?
    b. My laptop has 4Gb RAM. First time I installed Vista 32-bit edition and I saw that Vista saw all 4Gb of RAM. After that when I installed XP 32-bit edition I saw that XP saw 2,99 Gb only. I thought that after installation all drivers for my chipset the XP would see the whole 4 Gb of RAM. But now as I said above there are two unkonwn devices only in the Diveice Manager and XP see 2,99 Gb as before. Who knows should I find one more special drivers to allow XP to see the whole RAM or it's impossible for XP 32-bit and I have to install 64-bit edition?
Concernig copy of HDD. I tried to do that by Partion Magic, Paragon Partition Manager, Acronics and Ghost Images. And I tried to connect HDDs by different interfaces (from native laptop controller to external usb and reverse, and from one external usb HDD to another) - nothing. When I'm taking HDD with new installed XP, connecting it through external sata-usb controller to one usb port from one side and connecting another HDD through external sata-usb controller to other usb port from the second side I can do copy of the whole HDD or partition from the first HDD to the second. And new created HDD works and loads good. When I'm trying to repeat the same but with original HDD with Vista and recovery partitions it doesn't work. Moreover some partition managers (e.g. PMagic) see the first partition (which is called "Toshiba" and it's not hidden but with unknown file system) and last recovery hidden partition as invalid partitions and refuse attempting to make copy at once. But even if partition manager doesn't write an error at the beginning (Acronics - the best) and makes partition copies successfully the new created HDD doesn't load. And all advices to recover Vista begin: "boot from recovery cd, choose system recovery.....". I haven't any cd and my recovery utility from HDD offers me to install Vista again without any recovery options. Unfortunately...
Concerning Garmin I wrote to Garmin support and I'm waiting answer from them. That's great that driver for GPS from Vista is suitable for XP too.
Tks for reply and tks in advance.

  • Qosmio G10-133: Where to find NVIDIA GeForce FX Go6600 Vista drivers

I have a Qosmio G10-133 with the upgraded motherboard which I believe has the Nvidia GeForce FX Go6600 graphics chip, not the older motherboard which had the 5900 chip.
I am trying to find a recommended driver for this chip when using Vista as an operating system.
I know Toshiba no longer support this discontued model and certainly do not have the drivers on their website.
Anybody got any ideas where I can obtain a suitable driver, or even if there is one.
Nvidia's website just states that invidiual laptop manufacturers adapt drivers for their chips and don't provide a driver.
    Any ideas?

From my understanding the Toshiba doesnt support any Vista drivers for the Qosmio G10 The Vista seems to be supported since Qosmio G30 series
I have read several threads about the compatible graphic drivers for Vista OS and the _www.laptopvideo2go.com_ website provides some nVidia drivers.
But note; these drivers are not tested and therefore you can install and use it only at your own risk

  • Qosmio G10-133 - need Keyboard Part No

I have a Qosmio G10-133 for about 5 months, but alas a small picture fell and damaged the keyboard. It broke one key luckily, and one that isn't used much!!! The |\ key. But it is still a pain. I could claim on my household insurance, but I wont.
I am trying to find the correct part number. How easy is it to install a replacement? I recently changed a hard drive for a friend in other notebook, and keyboard removal replacement seemed very easy. What is it like on the Tosh?
[Edited by: admin on 09-Oct-05 13:36]

I just couldn't be sure as one website like www.laptopbits.co.uk says:
    Toshiba Replacement Keyboard UK Specification
New Toshiba original spare part for the following range of laptops - UK keys part number P000349000, P000405490 or P000367420
Suitable for the following Toshiba Laptops
    Qosmio E10, Qosmio F10, Qosmio G10
    Satellite 1410 series & 2410 series
    Satellite A40 and M30
    Price each 55 + VAT
Usually ships: same day for next day delivery
    P000367420
    Price each
    64.63
    Qty required
So I wasn't sure, as I can get the part no P000367420 fairly a reasonable amount secondhand. But I am uncertain what the difference is between this one and the one you quote? Any ideas? Will this part no work on a g10?
Kind regards to all who are helping.

  • Drivers for input devices, xorg.conf

    Hi!
I have a laptop with keyboard + touchpad of course and external usb logitech mouse. I would like you to advise me about drivers for these devices. For logitech mouse it's rather obvious. I need to use evdev, to use all buttons. But is there any sense to use evdev with touchpad (Elantech) or keyboard? Should I use standard kbd driver for keyboard and mouse for touchpad? Do you have any other suggestions?
(BTW. I am encountering some problem with mouse and touchpad configured as evdev. When logging out of gnome, X server gets a segfault (Fatal Error, Caught signal 11).

I think that card is an agp card (i have one matrox g100 here agp1x, powerful stuff 8mb xD).
There's an option called Agp aperture size in your bios... since you almost dont have any video ram memory avaiable, increase that value to at least 128mb and you should be able to do something with that... (you need to have at least 128mb of ram).
8mb isn't enough to have high resolutions with 24bit depth. just do "(resolution x bit depth) /  (100000 * 8)" -> that will give you in MBytes the amount of vram that you need. For example, 1280x1024 @ 24bits needs 4mb. *i cant confirm if what i said is correct, but im almost sure that this is the math that you have to do*

  • Where can I find drivers for dvd device?

    Hi guys,
Hi want to install Windows 7 but when I am running setup windows asks for drivers for dvd device.
Where can I find these drivers or how can I install windows 7?
I know hp does not support serie tx1000 in windows 7 but I have seen people who installed that OS.

    thanks!

I just got off the phone with a new case manager named Jamie 1-877-917-4380 ext 93 regarding new case number 7501359724, and of course just what I expected he would say, HP has no known issue with the tx series and no issue with the Nvidia 6150 chip.  He said that its just a coincidence that 1000's and 1000's of owners have experienced overheating motherboards.  That despite the same symptoms of other hp laptops and their recall proceding a huge lawsuit with Nvidia admitting they had sold hp defective chips, the tx/ 6150 nvidia was not one of the defective chips.  After reading the lawsuit details I found that Nvidia never released a list of the exact defective chips just that there were some, and then settled with hp.  Hp for some reason or another made a list of the so called defective ones and left many of the additional defective ones including the tx series/ Nvidia 6 series chips off the list.  Maybe there are not as many of us that own it, so as a business move they felt they could get away with this, or maybe because the failure typically hits a month or two after warranty expires.  I even looked up the chip by itself and found that the same Nvidia 6150 chip was used in certain Dell notebooks and had an issued recall relating to its defect.  Yet Jamie from Hp clearly stated that there is no known defect and that I would need to pay 400.00 USD and get the mother board replaced. I told him that I wasn't going to do that, why would I spend 400 dollars to have a new defective mother board intsalled to fail again.  He assured me that it wouldn't be an issue because the new mother boards have a different set of chips due to the issue with the old chip.  What is that about?  Does he think I am stupid, they say there is no defect in that chip, so they wont take responsability but they admit there is an issue with the chip, what is the difference?  They change the word defect with issue and that excuses them from any liability in providing a product capable of delivering expectations and quality of its class.  I personally wont settle for this. I wont settle for less than a refund or a new equall value notebook free from defect with an extended warranty.  To all of you others with this model of notebook i suggest you do the same, don't give up on your right to defend your hard earned money.  Look up Nvidia 6 series chips and you will find many companies that have disclosed its defect and taken responsability to their product owners.  Hp needs to do the same. Shame on HP  I had to edit this because they keep deleting my posts to cover up there secret, you can try and follow the trouble shooting tips, but it wont work, the graphics card has burned up and is killing your mother board.  A company invested a lot of money only to realize they can either lose a lot more money or they can brush it under the rug at the expense of their customers, and so they try to sustain profitability, by hiding the truth.  I suggest you buy a msi netbook, it has no frills but I promiss it will last, msi knows how to make a strong motherboard and stand by their products, no use in buying a fancy computer when it will only tease you with 13mons of life.  I am sorry that myself and all of you put your hard money and trust into a product that was probably knowingly doomed before it was even sold to us. Just remember that in this economy even a large company that you think you can trust can't be trusted, MONEY trumps the consumer!!

  • HT4914 once subscribed, does the main computer with library always need to be on in order for other devices to work?

I am trying to figure out if iMatch is right for my family.  We have 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, an iPod Touch, and a few PCs.  One PC has our music library on it in iTunes.  We want to all share from the library with our own separate devices.  If we subscribe to iMatch, does everyone need to use the same ID to access the library? Does the main PC with library need to remain on constantly for other devices to gain access? And my daughter has the iPod and we would like to control the content she is able to access, is this possible with iMatch?  Thanks

You will all need to use the same id that you subscribe to iTunes Match with (that will need to be the account that is signed into on the devices/computers that you want to access the music from), but your computer doesn't need to remain on - when you subscribe your library is uploaded from that computer to the cloud, so it only needs to be 'on' then, when it's finished uploading it will be accessible from the cloud on your devices/computers via your internet connection.

  • Can time capsule be connected wirelessly and still use ethernet ports for other devices?

can time capsule be connected wirelessly and still use ethernet ports for other devices? we have it connected wirelessly but devices connected to the ethernet ports are not working.

Not as an additional router.. the TC will be plugged into the main router via ethernet (or ethernet equivalent)..
Then the TC is setup in bridge mode. It will simply act as a Switch and HDD.
The wireless can be setup in a number of ways.
From your convenience point of view use it in roaming network mode..
you simply give the TC the same Wireless Name as the existing routers SSID.
Same security setting and password. WPA2 Personal = WPA2 AES which is the best.
But they both use different wireless channels.. normally if you leave the TC on auto it will work fine, but I prefer to control the network.. so set the main router to say 1 and the TC to 11.
You can also use a completely different wireless name etc.. that is up to you. It is still a single flat network and the only thing that is important is only having one router.

  • Qosmio G10-133 & Vista can not recognise my memory stick

    Hi,
I have installed VISTA on this laptop, and I have had a few problems as you can imagine!!!!
I can not get it to recognise my memory stick. I can't find any drivers and Windows can not solve the problem.
    Anybody got any clues?
I am also having a problem if I power off the laptop. The only way I can get the power on button to work is to remove the mains cable and the battery and then I can power on the laptop. If I don't remove the power cable and the battery, I get a green light on the power button, or no light at all, and pressing it seems to do nothing. I also get a flashing orange light on the mains power light at the front of the laptop. I assume it is something to do with the computer thinking it has hibernated or something?

    What to say buddy.
The Vista is not supported on the Qosmio G10 series officially and therefore the Vista drivers dont exists for this series.
Fact is that you need an card reader driver to use the memory sticks. But as I said above such drivers are not released and dont exists.
What you can do is to check the drivers for G30 but Im very skeptical that this will work on G10.
    Bye

  • XP update wrecks my screen resolution on Qosmio G10-133

I am running a two years old G10-133. Great and reliable machine. The reason I bought it was because it has great screen resolution/sharpness for MS Word texts and Outlook emails.
For various reasons I do not download the MS Windows updates that are frequently offered in a pop-up at start up (suspicion that they can bring more problems than they solve). Anyway I have recently (despite running Norton Security all the time) picked up some sort of nasty malware in Google that hijacks around 50% of the google links after a search and sends then off to another search engine with links.
The windows and Norton firewalls did not pick these up or clean them out so I tried the Spybot freeware to get rid of them to no affect.
Finally rang up Toshiba Europe Support and the chap there recommended that :
    1) Don't use Norton. Waste of time and money and slows machine. Get the new Windows Defender freeware instead.
    2) Do all the XP updates
So I started with all the windows updates (loads), including Internet Explorer 7.
Guess what, after restart computer went a bit slow cranky, but worse the screen resolution (sharpness/clarity of text) had deteriorated in both Word, Outlook and Explorer.
So I called Toshiba Support again (I am on a three years warranty contract) and they could not solve the problem or suggest anything and seemed surprised that it had happened. We checked the usual screen resolution things in Control panels to no avail.
So I gave up, set the System Restore back before all the updates.
Computer is now stable and the screen resolution back to where it was.
    Questions:
    1) Can I get the XP updates and EXP 7 and still get my old (best) screen resolution.
    2) What about giving up Norton for Windows Defender good/safe idea?
    3) Any ideas on how to stop the hijacking of Google links?
    All help much appreciated

    Hi
1.) This is very strange and I have never heard about bad display quality after installation of Microsoft updates!
I think you should try to contact the Microsoft support and maybe they know something about such strange behaviour.
But did you try to update graphic driver and/or BIOS?
2.) This is true. I have installed the Norton System Works several months ago and my unit booted very slow with preinstalled Norton Antivirus.
I have removed it and use and freeware AntiVirus application called "Antivir".
I don't want to use the MS Windows Defender. But I don't say this application is bad.
    3) I don't know what you want to do but I don't think that this has something to do with your Toshiba notebook ;)

  • Drivers for Analog Devices RTI-815

    Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find Labview drivers for an Analog
Devices RTI-815 card, if they exist?
The card came out of a Haake Rheocord System 90. The old
controller for it is a 286; we'd like to replace it with a newer computer
and software written in Labview. Thanks for your help.
    -Nathan

Hi, thanks for the responses.  I did a search on the 815 and 802, but I must admit, I neglected to search the forums for the AC28.  All 3 cards are still available (although AD has discontinued their cards UEI manufactures replacement units)  The company I work for has these cards in several test rigs, and I'm looking at options of modernising the PC & control software without incurring the cost of a complete control system retrofit (the current control software is DOS based).  In view of performance & accuracy it probably makes sense to upgrade the cards and signal conditioning, but In the short term that would be a difficult proposition.
We also have other test machines which use labview, AD 5B signal conditioning, and Siemens profi connected I/O.  Ideally if we were to look at a complete retro I would be keen to commonise as much equipment as possible.  However, while the current hardware remains available, and performs adequately It will be quite difficult to justify.
SSK: Also, I would be interested in the code that was you utilised, if you could dig it up that would be a great starting point.
Mark:  Thanks also for your post.  I'll look into the driver kit, and most likely ask NI if they would consider writing some drivers at some stage.
