Qosmio G20: How to change the DVD region code?

My DVD is locked into region 1 is there anyway to fix this because I need it to be on region 2.
I have been using it on the correct region which is 2 but for some unknown reason it has locked onto region 1 not allowing me to make any changes.

Jeffrey speaks well.
However, you must to right click My Computer -> property -> hardware -> device manager ->
dvd/cdrom drivers -> double/click your drive -> dvd region/tab and if you have some
remained possibilities, you can choose region 2.
Bye

  • About changing the dvd region

sir, despite my every effort i am unable to change the dvd region of my lenovo 3000 N 100. what i do?

DVD region codes can be changed for only five times after that it cannot be changed.
The DVD Writer will not be able to play a disc with any region code other than the last one it is set. You can check the region code that you have set by using the following steps.
Right-click “My Computer” and select “Properties”. On the “Hardware” tab, click “Device Manager”. Now double-click DVD/CD-ROM drives and click on the DVD region tab.

  • Qosmio G30: Cannot chang the DVD region settings

I have a G30 and appear to have reset the dvd region using Qosmio rather than Windows MC.
When I try to reset the dvd region (back to region 2) Windows MC says there is one change remaining but then does not let me change, advising me that I have the incorrect region media in the drive (I don't)or I do not have administrator rights (I do).

Where did you check the drive region settings?
Did you check it in the drive properties or somewhere else?
In my opinion you have already used all region change attempts and the changing is no more possible.

  • How do I set the DVD region code via ARD?

We recently deployed around 200 MacBooks in a k12 environment and manage them via ARD & WGM. We forgot to set the DVD region when creating our master image and as a result, every single MacBook prompts for an admin password when attempting to use the DVD Player to view a DVD for the first time.
Instead of attending to each of the 200+ MacBooks personally and putting a DVD in and setting the region code one by one, is there a way I could do this via ARD? Unix command? Managed preference via WGM? Thanks, I appreciate any input.

I've been working on this very topic for about a year. Here's what you need to know.
    1) setting the region code on your master image would result in the same behavior. Setting the region code triggers an update to the DVD drive firmware itself - it's not something that's stored in software. Obviously this is something that needs to be set on each machine individually. Setting it on the image won't affect the imaged-machines.
    2) Apple seems to have gone to great lengths to hide the app that triggers this action. If they had provided a simple CLI interface to trigger this on a client machine we'd be able to use ARD to trigger the action on all of our client machines. Alas, this app is buried somewhere I can't find and seems to only rear its head when a DVD with a region code is inserted into the drive. There is one idea that popped into my head while at Macworld that I want to try to see if I can find this app but I have my doubts.
    3) Failing my last ditch effort to find this app, I think our fallback will be to give users explicit rights to set the initial DVD region code on thier machines. This is something that can be done using WGM. There is a rule in /etc/authorication specifically allowing users/groups to set the region code for the first time. According to the notes, giving this access will NOT allow users to change the region code - which is a good thing - but only give them rights to do so the initial time. This way, we can empower our users to help themselves while also protecting them from resetting the region code accidentally.
In conclusion, I haven't found any way to script/push this command to a client machine. I'll definitely file this with Bug Reporter and hope Apple will give us a CLI or an ARD command to trigger this action after imaging.

  • How can I change the DVD regional settings?

I have changed my regional settings more than the required times and they cannot be changed any more so l cannot watch some of the dvd's l have.how can l fix it to be multi regional dvd player?

    Hi Sam,
Once the allowed number of region changes has been reached you will need to flash the firmware in your DVD player in order to reset the region count. You can try to Google for the required update for your make/model of DVD ROM or you can check with a Toshiba Service Agent to see if they can arrange this for you.

  • Satellite L310-D4011: How to reset the DVD Region setting to 0?

    Dear All,
I have a Satellite L310 D4011 machine which I recently purchased in which I installed a DVD player software.
I run WinXP. A friend of mine played a music video from UK (Mccartney Live in Red Square) in the DVD player and the original region setting which was at 0 with 5 changes remaining, has gone to 4 changes remaining and the region is now set at 2. I am in India where the region for DVD is 5. If I change to 5, I lose another change option.
I do not want to let my DVD ROM get stuck at 0 options left and in some other region.
Can anyone give me an advice to reset the region back to Zero with five options remaining - the way it was when I bought the laptop?
I shall be extremely grateful. Will the vendor from whom I purchased the laptop be able to set it back to factory setting?
    Best wishes

    Hello
In my opinion Toshiba has nothing to do with it. To protect movie industry and their interests all notebook manufacturers offer optical disc drives where you can watch movies with different country code but 5 times only. The last chosen region code will be set as default. So if you have 4 more codes there is no reason for panic. Just continue to watch movies from your favourite region area.
I am 100% sure that Toshiba service or vendor where you purchased your notebook will say that they have nothing to do with it. In drive properties you have clear statement how it works.
Anyway you can try to contact them and ask for help.

  • Changing the DVD region

A friend has bought a second hand Mac Mini. The DVD player is stuck on Region 1, presumably having exhausted its 5 available opportunities to switch. Is there any way he can switch it to Region 2?

Replacing the DVD drive would work. Try playing DVDs with VLC. For many Macs, it will play DVDs even if the DVD and drive regions don't match.

  • How to change the Partner function code in Quotation

    Hi All,
We have a requirement that whenever a Quote is cancelled,
We need to change one of the function codes in the partner tab and also the user status should be changed.
Can anyone give a quick solution on this?
    Your response will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ramya

You will best implement this as an action (tx. SPPFCADM), which is called on changing the status to cancelled. In this action you can call a function module changing the partner functions using e.g. CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN as the appropriate function module.

  • How do you change your dvd region from 1 to 2

How do I change dvd region from 1 to 2

    Hi mike,
Happy Holidays!  The resource below explains the DVD region setting can be changed.
DVD Player: About DVD-Video regions - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201705
How is the region code set?
The first time you insert a DVD disc in Mac OS X v10.3 or later:
If the disc only supports one region, the DVD drive is set to that region. No dialog box appears if you are logged in as an admin user. This will automatically count against the number of times you can change the region setting (see below).
If the disc supports more than one region, or is region-free, the below dialog appears asking you to choose a region for your DVD drive.
If you later insert a DVD that uses a different region, the above dialog will appear.
You can change the region setting up to 5 times, as indicated in the dialog box. On the fifth time, the drive is permanently set to use that region, and you cannot make any more changes. For example, imagine you have both a Region 1 and Region 2 DVD-Video disc. You insert the Region 1 disc and DVD Player is now set to play only Region 1 discs. You insert the Region 2 disc, and set the drive to play only Region 2 discs. If you continue to switch between the discs, on the fifth time the DVD drive is permanently set to use the region of that disc.
    Enjoy the Season ....

  • How do you change the dvd write speed in pre 11

can i change the dvd write speed i pre 11 and if so how   thanks

    Not in Premiere Elements.
You'll need to use Premiere Elements to burn the DVD files to a folder, and then use a program like the excellent, free ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a disc at a slower speed.

  • I want to change the country/region in my Apple ID but it wont let me because I have 69 cents credit left in another country's itunes how do I do it?

We bought the phone in another country and used it there on a prepay plan. we also purchased several itunes gift cards and used them to download some music. We used all but 69 cents of the credit on the itunes card before leaving that country. We are now in another country and have signed up with another cellular provider and purchased another itunes card but when we went to redeem the credit on the card it wouldn't accept it and said it was only for use in the country we were in. I realised our itunes account did not recognise we have gone to another counrty so I went into the settings of the phone and selected the iTunes and App Stores. When in that setting i tapped the Apple ID and then view Apple ID which then gives you the option to change the country/ region. However when I try to change the country I keep getting the message under the banner Account, which says "You have a store credit balance; you must spend your balance before you can change stores".
I have looked through everything but cannot find a way to delete or spend the 69 cents credit. Can anyone help me?
