Qosmio G30-10E - need mainboard partnumber

Hi,
i need the Partnumber of my mainboard, because it's faulty and i want to replace the mainboard,
and my dealer wants the exact partnumber to find the right sparepart.
But i dont find the partnumber on the board, the one and only i found is:
+A5A001964 / 030 A0 / C074AGOT+
+Model: Qosmio G30-10E+
+PQG32E-03903NGR+
+S/N: 47816895G+
And my dealer says, the partnumber looks like this example: P000462640
Thank you

As far as I know Toshiba service partner has such info. They have access to Toshibas database and can check this. As far as I know Toshiba has offered two platforms for this Qosmio G30 so it is very important for you to get mainboard for PQG32E.
I mean if you have this number you can order it alone and you don't need some special dealer.
Try to contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
It is really not easy to help you with this.
And yes. Part number is something like K000xxxx.

  • Qosmio G30: Need XP drivers tools CD-ROM in english

    Hi!
I'm an italian owner of Qosmio G30, and I want to use Windows XP Pro in english. Is there any way or any place on the Net to download the ISO of Toshiba CDROM Tools and Drivers in english?

    Hello Cesare
All you must do is to visit Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ > Support & Downloads > Support homepage. There you can find download section.
Everything you need you can find it there on almost every European language. ISO file is not available just single drivers, tools and utilities.
    Thats all.

  • QosmioPlayer needed for Qosmio G30-177

I've just bought a Qosmio G30-177 from a friend, but it's not a brandnew laptop
and this is my problem. My Lappy cannot using QosmioPlayer , when my lappy turn off i press one of the 11 AV button but my lappy doesn't start QosmioPlayer , instead of that it go to window Vista. After researching by myseft on this forum , i think that is because i don't have a partition for QosmioPlayer on my lappy and i don't have a Media recovery disc .
So i write this thread to ask for some advice.
Because i live in Vietnam so it's not easy for my to order a recovery disc from Toshiba service , so does anyone know how to download an ISO file of that disc?
    thanks

    Hi
WinRE partition belongs to the Vista OS. Usually the partition is hidden and its needed only for the Vista backup files.
Vista supports an own reparation option and if something will go wrong with your OS, you could use such option to repair the OS. In such case Vista will use the files which are stored on the WinRE partition.
    _Regarding the Qosmio Player issue;_
The point is that you will need an original Toshiba Recovery disk if you want to use the Qosmio Player.
Without recovery disk you will be not able to use this tool.
On the Toshiba page you can find the Qosmio player. Its in the Win MCE download area.
This is a ISO image and you can burn it and create a Qosmio Player recovery CD.
You will have to install firstly the Qosmio player booting from this disk.
This will install the Qosmio player on the HDD.
After you have finished the Qosmio player installation you should use the Toshiba recovery to install the Windows operating system.

  • Searched for driver updates - do I need them all? Qosmio G30-175

Hello people, new Toshiba user here.
Last week I bought a Qosmio G30-175. After a Bluetooth installation problem everything is fine.
I updated BIOS today to v1.70 (even though the Windows version wouldn't work)!
I thought I would do a search for any driver updates and I find that 86 updates appear!!!
Could somebody tell me whether all these updates are merely available for use, or does my particular laptop require all these updates?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    What?? 86 drivers??
Are you sure? I have checked the Toshiba driver page of Qosmio G30-175 (PQG30E) and found only 50 drivers for Windows XP MCE.
But the list of 50 drivers contains double entries! For example there are 2 BIOS, 2 LAN drivers, different modem drivers, etc listed.
You should install only the drivers and utilities which are listening in the Installation instruction document. This guide line is important and you should follow this guide line if you install the Toshiba drivers manually.
You will find the document also in the driver section

  • Need help with my Toshiba remote control and receiver for Qosmio G30 161

    Hello to all
I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-161 and with it I have a Toshiba remote control and a Toshiba remote control receiver, this is the first time I have used it (tried to that is), my problem is the remote is not working on the computer when I press any program buttons the computer does nothing.
I have installed four brand new AA batteries and the remote works fine its sending signals to the receiver, the receiver the detecting the remote as a red light appears every time you press a button and as for the computer I have checked the drivers and the USB is picking up the receiver as a E-home remote receiver which I have checked with Toshiba and that is correct, so all in all the remote is working, the receiver is picking up signals and the pc has detected the receiver but nothing works, I have installed remote control manager but this still has done anything. I have spoken to Toshiba help and support and the end result is they are not sure what the problem is. Can anyone help I require the remote for slideshows for customers as I??m a photographer.
Also to confirm I am running Windows XP MCE addition.
    Anthony Worlock

    Hi there,
this remote contol works, if you use it without any special drivers and special software, only in the Media Center.
But if you install such stuff like [WinLirc|winlirc.sourceforge.net] then you should be able to get some functions for your presentation.
Please try this tool and check if it works.
By the way: If I were you I would first read the Manual and FAQ of WinLirc before starting because its a little bit tricky to handle the program. :) (Too many settings :D)

  • How to connect a Qosmio G30 to the TV

Could someone please help me. I am not at all good with computers so really need it. I want to conect my Qosmio G30 to my TV.
It' s an old TV not LCD or plasma. I have a cable with my laptop which connects from the laptop to the TV via a scart connection. I then pressed FN with F5 and the G30 screen went blank and nothing happened. I did FN + F5 again and the picture returned on the G30 with much larger icons etc, but nothing on my TV.
I was advised to mess around with my display settings and enable a second monitor. I did this and followed my actions above. I got a really dark picture for a few seconds on my TV and then nothing! I have been told today to mess around with my NVIDIA settings and this should enable a scart TV connection. Could anyone please give me a definitive answer???
I apologise for my clear lack of knowkedge...

    Hello
I do not know how old is your notebook but almost all older TVs have separate channel that can be used if the external device is connected. Check the remote control of your TV. There must be a button with symbol that looks like arrow to right that shows into the circle.
http://www.2ourgoal.com/UploadFiles/200732721729797.jpg - button near the 0 on the right side. Try please to use this channel on the TV.

  • Qosmio G30 freezes upon Norton Internet Security 2008 startup

Norton Internet Security 2008 will freeze my computer as soon it tries to load and the only way to go on is to restart the system by pressing the on/off-button.
My notebook is a Toshiba Qosmio G30-177 (Model No. PQG32E-02G022GR) with Vista Ultimate and NIS2007 pre-installed. I have no problems with this NIS2008 version on my other notebook (Qosmio F10 - PQF10E-02300JGR, WinXP MCE).
NIS2007 runs fine on my G30 and I do not have any problems at all, but newer versions of NIS seem to get in conflict with my system:
    1. I am able to install and run the new version, download all updates and adjust the settings. Maybe one or two days later my computer will freeze after start exactly when the tray icon of NIS appears. For a couple of seconds there is just no response of the system at all and the LED's of my notebook show that all HD activity has stopped. After being idle for these couple of seconds, the cooling fan will start to operate at maximum power, creating a tremendous noise I never experienced before, not even while the CPU was running at 100% for some time due to other programs. Forcing a restart is all I can do.
    2. Now this time, I successfully restarted my notebook again (took some attempts) and it suddenly did not freeze. Then I disabled firewall and auto-protect permanently, so there was no freezing upon startup and I just had to manually activate both firewall and auto-protect after start. In order to prevent freezing again after reboot, I always disabled NIS before shutdown. For the next one or two days this workaround was quite successful.
    3. All of a sudden, after one or two days, this workaround is going to become useless, because the system starts to freeze again at the very moment the tray icon appears. In this case, restarting has no effect at all, and NIS will continue to freeze at startup. I also tried to prevent NIS form starting by no longer allowing ccApp.exe to automatically run upon start (administrative tools > system configuration > "startup" tab). This is successful and my notebook is able to start normally, but if I later try to start NIS manually, it will freeze again.
I had this problem since NIS2008 was just released, so I thought that meanwhile a Windows or Norton update might have fixed the issue, but this weekend I gave NIS2008 another try without success. I am almost sure that the problem is not caused by any other software than Windows and/or Norton, because I also tried to install NIS after a full system recovery, thus having only pre-installed NIS2007 and Vista on my notebook. I did use the Norton removal tool and followed the deinstall instructions before trying to install the newer version of course.
My last hope was that the NIS2009beta version somehow would not freeze my system, but it does. It does not matter if I try to run 2008 or 2009beta version, the problem is exactly the same.
What really drives me almost crazy is the fact that NIS runs perfectly for some time, then needs a rather small workaround, and then after some time totally refuses to work. In these couple of days I did not change any system settings, install or deinstall any programs or did anything that I felt could conflict with NIS...
So far, I have no idea of a solution and have to use NIS2007 again.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

    Hi !
I use NIS since 2001 and never had any serious trouble with this software.
There could be some compatibility problem, but I don't think that Vista is causing it, because otherwise a lot more people should have the same problem. Even the installation of all current Windows, NIS and Qosmio updates did not solve it. Of course I tried to get help using Symantec's Support and their user forums, but without success. This problem seems to be a rare one (unfortunately for me). I tested the NIS2009beta and even though it's a new version, the PC freezes again when this program starts. And this made me think that maybe a service or setup by Toshiba causes the problem and other Vista users are not affected. It's a strange thing that the pre-installed NIS2007 version is running fine...
    Cheers,
    Mario

  • Qosmio G30-126 - Strange scratching noise

    Hi!
I have a Qosmio G30-126 and OS Vista Ultimate. about a month ago my laptop was taken to service because it wouldn't turn on, but since last week, when I started it up there was a prolonged scratching noise on the startup, and since then whenever Im listening to music or if the laptop's on standby, there are some very weird scratching sounds coming out from the speakers. Short sounds that keep being repeated. Sometimes they stop after a few times, and other times, like last night, I had to restart.
I tried updating all available drives, but everything seemed up-to-date. I also googled the issue, but none of what I found was relative.
Can someone give me a clue as to what the issue might be? Is there something I haven't thought of that needs to be done?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

That might be an option...how can i see if it is the fan though? Is there a way to do it on my own?
Is it possible that these sound issues might be because of overusage? I don't keep my laptop on 24 hrs a day, but some days it's on till the evening. But only after the service did this whole thing occur..

  • Re: Qosmio G30 - RAID Problems on OS Installation

I've had my Qosmio G30-161 for half a year, and thought it'd ought to be time to reinstall the whole thing, so i could get rid of stuff i didn't need (Programs, Viruses and non-interesting video clips).
So i took my XP MCE Cd and tried to install, and i got guided through and come to the place where i needed to choose between 1st Unknown, 2nd Stripping, and 3rd Mirroring. I choose the stripping as i wished my harddrives to be in one. Then when i pressed "next" it gave me the error message "1005 - HDD not ready?"
I've tried going into the BIOS and chaneg the setting to different settings that Toshiba told me to, but it also warned me that if i changed the settings my OS would have to be reinstalled. No problem there. But i still get the same error message "HDD not ready?". So now i have to use another computer than my own to check the forums and mail etc.
Anyone know what i should do? I'll be glad with anything as long as i can have both my harddrives (60GB+60GB), and a working OS. :)
Please help, I'm urging for it, since the computer is the one i use for my school work. Feel free to ask questions about system stuff. If you have an answer, please let it be simple, since i realy don't wanna mess up again ^_^

Please check the details in user manual about the RAID installation.
Usually if you are using the clean Windows XP disk then you will have to include the RAID drivers firstly.
Without preinstalled RAID drivers the HDD will be not recognized and you will be not able to install the OS!

  • Can I put Blu-ray drive on Qosmio G30?

    Hi all,
I have a Qosmio G30-163 with an HD DVD Drive (MATSU****A G8CC00031720) and I am currently in the process of upgrading it.
I recently bought a 4GB RAM upgrade kit from Crucial (CT2KIT25664AC667) and am looking into further upgrades.
Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the HD DVD Drive with a Blu-ray drive?
My research has led me to the Sony Optiarc BC-5500A which I have found has the same height dimension (12.7mm) and also the same interface connector at the rear (E-IDE).
I have read in the forums that someone has managed to use a similar drive on a Qosmio and that the drive may need to be configured to slave mode as opposed to master.
If anyone knows if this would work or has any further information I would greatly appreciate it!
    Regards,
    Luke{color}

Well, I sent the same question to Toshiba Support, and they got back to me the next day - How's that for support!
    What they said was:
"we think it is likely that the Blu-ray drive would work so long as it physically fits and it has the same adapter. Older systems will require enough graphics processing power to cope with Blu-ray. This system has the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 which should cope with it.
We cant guarantee that this drive would work but we think it likely that it will but you install it at your own risk.
Prior to installing more modern hardware it might be wise to check that you have the latest BIOS version."
This sounds very promising to me, so I am seriosusly considering buying the Blu-ray drive!
Does anyone have any experience of using Sony Optiarc products?
    Regards,
    Luke

  • How to install Windows XP 64bit on my Qosmio G30-219

Problem.....how to install windows xp 64 on my qosmio G30-219? seems that Toshiba doesn't support it! Or have i missed something?
    Help please!!!!

Of course you can install it on the Qosmio G30.
The problem is that you will not find any Toshiba 64bit XP drivers on the Toshiba driver page!!!
    Why???
Well, Im not sure why but I presume the Toshiba notebooks were not delivered with 64bit OS and therefore 64bit drivers dont exists.
I assume you cannot install the 64bit XP on the Qosmio because you have not included an RAID driver!!! Am I right?
The RAID driver is need and important to recognize the HDD!!!
You can include it pressing F6 during the windows setup installation procedure
    So its one little hint!

Please help me for converting my language. I can format and to put windows Xp pro English, but in this time i will not able to use TV tunner and other services. Please help me or someboady have DVD boot cd in English

    Hey Ilyas
Unfortunately, there is no much to do. The OS language cannot be converted!!!
If you want to use the Windows in English language you will have to buy the original Microsoft Windows CD with a English version of Win MCE.
Then you have to install this OS and the necessary drivers from the Toshiba driver page.
The drivers can be chosen in different languages.

  • Qosmio G30 - Question about the Raid driver

Do i actually need this driver to use RAID? If its set in BIOS, what does the driver actually do? apart from give you health stats?
    Cheers

Yes, you need the RAID driver.
I think The Qosmio G30 was designed with the RAID feature like some G20 units.
Without this RAID driver you will be not able to install the OS because the OS setup cannot recognize the HDD.
    The RAID uses two options:
RAID-0 (Striping): two HDDs are used as one big drive, if one HDD fails all data is lost
RAID-1 (Mirroring): both HDDs contain the same data, if one drive fails data is not lost
I think you could check this posting and additionally use the forum advanced search for more results about RAID.
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=14349&messageID=52359
In the user manual you will also find many info about RAID
