Qosmio G35-600 - Advanced controls of volume control

Hello,
I have a Qosmio G35-600. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure my volume control use to have advanced controls and I had access to the input monitor, which is now greyed out. I reinstalled my SigmaTel Audio Driver (qg600audiox.exe), but that did return the advanced controls nor give access to the input monitor. The volume control is Microsoft volume control version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_odr.101209-1647: Service Pack 3).
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance

Hi, thanks for the reply.
When you right click the volume icon in the system tray and click Open Volume Control, I see the following headings:
Volume Control, Wave, SW Synth, CD Player, Input Monitor. Input Monitor is greyed out.
Also, in the Volume Control window, there is Options>Advanced Controls. Advanced Controls is greyed out.
There are no yellow marks or unknown devices listed in the Sound, Video, and Game Controllers section of the Device Manager.

  • Qosmio G35-600 - Control buttons and card reader don't work

    Hi,
    So I recently installed windows XP on my Toshiba Qosmio G35-600 and I found all the drivers except for two. If anyone out there could help me find them that would be great.
    1) The first driver I cannot find is for the Toshiba control buttons at the top of my keyboard (I believe that is what they are called). Quosmios have 12 buttons on the top above the F keys, and currently only my power button, the brightness up and down buttons, and the dolby sound buttons work. The analog TV button, the media center button, play, stop, previous, next,record, and s-video out buttons don't do anything anymore. It would be cool if i had an s-video out ability again but mostly what i want is the play, previous, and next buttons to work.
    2)The second problem I am having is with my built in SD card reader. A few times I thought I found the correct driver but after installing it the SD card was not showing up in my computer.
    A preemptive thanks for the help,
    Xamboni

    Hello
    I think you should install the Toshiba controls for Windows XP that you can find on the Toshiba website. Check this!
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com
    The driver for the SD card slot you can find on the Toshiba website too.
    What SD card have you tried?
    Try it with an other SD card and use the Toshiba SD card utility to format the card.

  • Request: Brightness Control like Volume Control in Tray

    I'd like to request an icon for the notification area of the taskbar that indicates the current brightness level of the display and allows for adjustment using only the mouse, similar to the built-in Windows volume control. Thanks.

    Hi,
    I would lye if I say, that this would not be a great feature.
    However, in these times I'm not sure about the possibility of the implementation.

  • Lion 10.7.1 brightness control, backlight control, itunes control and volume control won't work!

    basically the very first row of my keyboard refuses to work.. except for esc.& f3 f4..
    it happened all of sudden, the only thing odd i did that day was to plug in my tiny ipod 2009 mode, and the other day these keys are all disabled.
    I recently upgraded from snow leopard to lion, but it did happen few days later than the upgrade.
    and I have a partrition of disk running snow leopard, and i tested it, all of the keys are working in snow leopard, so I think it won't be a hardware problem.
    any suggestions?

    Just in case someone got the same prob.. so i went to talk to 'apple genius' and then they figured out my problem:
    install snow leopard & lion at the same time.
    So i fully removed snow leopard and all keys got back to life.

  • HT5922 Volume control Itunes Shared Library from Macbook air played through iPad

    Hi everyone,
    I am using iPad Air to airplay through use of iTunes shared library from Macbook, to Play to my Apple TV using the Remote App from apple on the iPad.
    I noticed that the swipe up control screen volume control does not affect the volume on my speakers of the Denon which is perfectly connected with apple tv. The only thing which controls the volume is the Denon volume control.
    The iTunes  volume control on the Macbook also do not work with Apple TV when airplaying
    I assume this is because of the Denon Reciever, but would like to hear if others who are connecting directly without a multimedia amplifier and speakers are also unable to raise volume using itunes control or not?
    Thans in advance for any feedback given.

    I think this may be a clue to the problem. When you purchased the MBA did you restore any of your personal data from a prior backup? In particular, did you restore any prior data in the Music folder?
    Or, did you simply launch iTunes and enable iTunes Match?

  • Volume control not working , which database controls volume?

    I have read this solution elsehwhere, but I came to the blackberry forums to see if you guys can help me up with this question.

    Here was my workaround to get the media player volume back up to 50% (not 100%, but it's a heck of a lot better than zero):
    1. Launch desktop manager
    2. Synchronize with Outlook
    3. Backup everything to a new database (not really needed, but just a precaution)
    4. Restore old database (before volume got stuck at 0%)
    5. Change synchronization conflict resolution options so that Outlook wins
    6. Synchronize with Outlook
    7. Change synchronization conflict resolution option back to "ask me what to do"
    Voila. Now my media player volume is back to 50%, which is where it was when I did the last backup before accidentally ratcheting it down to 0%.
    Whenever I restore a database, it always loses my Internet Browser. To get it back, go under Options / Advanced Options / Host Routing Table / Menu Key / Register Now / Ok. Unfortunately, I'm back to all the old bookmarks as they were in the old database, but I can always re-do those changes.

    Okay I Could restore an old database where the volume was at 50%, but the Desktop Media Manager also has an option to restore specific options that were previously backed up .
    SO my question is, does anyone know what specific database controls the volume control? SO I won't have to do a FULL Database restore?
    Thank You :smile:

    Long shot, but...
    Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

  • Mute/unmute volume controls by LabVIEW pragramaticlly ??

    Hi all,
    Can somebody help me to figure out how I can mute and unmute different volume controls using winmm.dll. I have come across this post ( see below) that shows how to control individual volume controls but I am more interested how to mute or unmute these controls programmaticlly by calling winmm.dll. So specifically I am looking for something were I can send a Boolean true (mute ON) or false (mute OFF) that will to the task.
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=22278&requireLogin=False
    I have been looking under "Mixercontroldetail_Boolean" under http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa910066.aspx but I am having very difficult time to configure it properly so that it can do its task. I would really appreciate if somebody can help me on this because I am running out of ideas.
    Thanks

    nxb,
    Have you considered using the waveOutSetVolume function inside winmm.dll, and writing '0' to mute the volume or '65535' to unmute the volume.
    I have attached an example that achieves this functionality:

  • Volume control missing in taskbar

    I have a HP G60-235DX laptop. I have noticed that the volume control in the bottom right taskbar is missing. When I right click on the taskbar>properties>notification area, Windows will not allow me to click on volume control. When I go to control panel>sound, I cannot click on default, apply, properties or configure. I can control the volume control with the function & sound keys assocaited wit hthe side number keypad. If anyone knows how to restore this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
    George
    UPDATE:   After exhausting all options, I turned the laptop off, then back on & the volume control reappeared in the lower right taskbar & all other volume controls are now working properly as usual. Thank you.

    Hi 333Help,
    Welcome to the HP Forum!
    Try this:
    Control Panel > icon view > Notification Area Icons >
    CHECK "Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar"
    OK
    If you want to adjust the settings for some of the Icon Notifications individually:
    UNCHECK the setting > go into the Window where the settings are located and select how you want each of the Items to respond... Once you have everything the way you like it, go back...
    CHECK "Always show all icons...."
    OK
    I hope this helps!
    Good Luck!

  • Remote control's volume doesn't work with external soundcard

    I use an external EDIROL FA-101 firewire soundcard connected to my macbook. Ofcourse I listen to music and watch movies with my computer just like we all do. But the problem is, that I can't control volume using apple remote. It only works for the integrated soundcard. It probably isn't hard for it to control volume of the iTunes, instead of the main volume (which doesn't control my external soundcard's volume). It just isn't comfortable at all (and I'm not going to use the integrated soundcard, because of what it sounds like).

    I'm not sure there's anything we can do for you here. You may be able to do something with an additional remote, like a bluetooth phone and Salling Clicker, to execute AppleScripts to control the volume control on your card.

    Hi,
       I'm developing a windows phone 8.1 app in which volume need to control. To do this I'm not getting API's to perform this operation, so can any one help to develop this app. if not please post some suggestions why this is not possible.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Naresh Kumar

    Hi NareshKumar,
    Volume control always needed by play some media stuff, could you please tell us why and where do you need the volume control.
    Basically as I know if we play the sound by MediaElement, it has a
    Volume property, or what kind of media play control are you using?
    Indeed, there is no API that can directly control the system volume, only user can manage that.

  • Right-click on Magic Mouse and Volume Controls on Wireless keyboard suddenly stopped working

    I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 on an Late 2012 iMac.
    One morning the right click on my Magic Mouse and the volume controls on the wireless keyboard stopped working.
    These mouse and keyboard themselves seem fine; they work okay ehn used on a MacBook.
    Everything else about the mouse and keyboard is fine.
    This seems to be a problem what has been around for a whole, with a wide variety of solutions.
    I have read
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16799039#16799039
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23474052#23474052
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19660884#19660884
    and have tried
    Clicking on and off the 'right click' checkbox in the Mouse System Preferences - No effect
    Deleting /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist - No effect
    Restarting in Safe Mode - When starting in safe mode, the computer crashes out and restarted
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM - Is it CTRL+CMD+P+R or CMD+OPT+P+R ?  Neither work for me (I do try it using a wired keyboard, but never get the double chime)
    Upgraded to 10.9.2 - no effect
    Moved the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext and AppleHIDKeyboard.kext and and back in (and re-authenticate) - No joy
    Moved the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext and AppleHIDKeyboard.kext from a working MacBook on same OS - Made the keyboard misbehave even more
    Has anyone got any other cures for this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Here is what worked for me.  My scrolling on the mighty mouse and a few buttons on my wireless keyboard weren't working properly.  I reset the SMC, a link explaining the process is below.  Hope it helps you too!

  • No volume control elements and/or devices found

    Hi, I recently installed Arch Linux and I followed the tutorials on how to configure it. At this moment I have Gnome installed and it is working fine, I only have one problem.
    Every time if I try to access volume control I get the following error:
    "No volume control elements and/or devices found"
    I'm relatively new to Linux so it might be me just being stupid(Maybe I just don't have the right packages installed) but I've searched the web and I didn't find anything that could help, I also searched this site but there are only a few things about sound problems. I think the problem is caused because Linux is not detecting my sound card (its an on board sound card) or maybe I have not given the command to detect it/activate it. In Google I've found that 'lsmod' and 'lspci' commands are for detecting drivers, so I executed those in my terminal and put them here, I hope this might help fixing my problem.

    Gonna reinstall it, things usually go better the second time.
    make sure u have adding the user to audio group in order to access sound device.
    gpasswd -a user audio
    Yes, I think that was the problem. Anyways, I reinstalled Arch Linux and everything is working fine now.

    embedded in a web page, however, I cannot seem to find the exact
    params that make the standard controls appear (ie, Play, Stop,
    Pause, Volume, etc). I just want to show a video and have the Play,
    Stop, Pause, Volume controls visible at the bottom. What do I need
    to do to get these controls to appear?
    Here's my current code:
    <object
    classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0"
    width="800" height="600">
    <param name="movie" value="
    http://www.sitename.com/flash/dt_flash.swf">
    <param name="quality" value="high">
    <embed src="
    http://www.sitename.com/flash/dt_flash.swf"
    quality="high" pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="800"
    height="600"></embed>
    </object>
    Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Sorry!  It's AS3. A typo on my part but, thanks for answering the post.   This is the correct answer that worked for me. Also,  the answer came from Kglad in the AS3 forum
    Assign your component an instance name (if it doesn't already have one), eg flv and in the frame that contains that component add:
    flv.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE,removedF);
    function removedF(e:Event):void{
    flv.stop();
