Qosmio G40: How to create master disk for Windows Vista?

Hello all,
I am looking forward to install Windows XP additional to Windows Vista on my QOSMIO G40 (dual boot).
Before starting this journey I need to secure a little bit the way-back by creating a *master disk* I can boot from to load Vista.
I am not talking about re-installing Vista starting the re-installation disk but about a master disk.
Somebody to help me on the subject?

I am not sure what you mean when you say "Master Disk". Do you mean a floppy disk that has Vista's boot loading files?

As colakid posted, in Windows 8 the ability to create a recovery CD/DVD has gone. Your options are to:
create a recovery USB; or
create a recovery image.
Recovery USB
Colakid's post talks you through how to make a recovery USB: from control panel, choose Recovery, then Create a Recovery Drive, and follow the prompts.
However, the 'recovery USB' can be a bit misleading. When the wizard starts, there is an option to 'copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive'. If you do not check this option, you will still need installation media to reset your PC.
Since you have upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, you will probably not be able to check this option, as it will be greyed out (like it is in the picture in Colakid's post).
If you go ahead and create the USB anyway, you will be able to boot to it, but you won't be able to reinstall Windows unless you have the installation media (or possibly a system image, though I haven't tried that).
Recovery image
The recovery image is an image of your computer that Windows will use when you select the 'refresh my pc' option. You can create a recovery image using the recimg.exe tool.
First, open an elevated command prompt (type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter).
Next, create the recovery image by typing:
recimg /createimage [path]
Where [path] is the folder you want the image in, eg C:\Recovery. You cannot set the file name - it will always be called CustomRefresh.wim.
Let it run its course. When it's done, you can check that it is the current recovery image by typing
recimg /showcurrent
It's important to keep in mind what a recovery image contains. It will have your Windows system files (in their current state), and the desktop apps you have installed (so it makes sense to do this after a fresh install of Windows). It will
not backup any Metro apps or user files, because these are not deleted during a system refresh. If you want a complete backup of everything on your computer the way it is now, you should make take a complete system image (which
can be done from the File History settings in control panel - at the bottom left there will be a 'System Backup Image' option - or you can do it using any other backup software like Ghost or Acronis).
In my case, I created the recover image straight after upgrading to Windows and it was about 6 GB.
Prepare/Create and register an recovery partition, so the option Copy the Recovery Partition becomes available in the recovery drive UI application.
In elevated command run> RECIMG -CREATEIMAGE C:\REFRESHIMAGE<
This will create a new custom.wim in a folder Refreshimage.
Now lets get ready to register the path of the image, so our create recovery drive option(COPY THE RECOVERY PARTITION FROM THE PC TO THE RECOVERY DRIVE) becomes available.
> In the folder you created there will be a> custom.wim<
change it to>INSTALL.wim<
> Create a folder In Cd/directory using Elevated command> mkdir c:\Win8.1-Recovery,>
Win81-Recovery<.
> Copy the INSTALL.WIM. Put in the Win81-recovery folder created.
> Run in elevated commad>REAGENTC /SetOSImage /Path C:\Win81-Recovery\INSTALL.WIM /Index 1<

How to create 800K disks for Mac Plus

I've acquired a Mac Plus in good working condition, but it's just standalone. Eventually I want to network it, but for right now, is there a way to use my Mac Mini or a PC to create 800k disks for the Mac Plus? Things like OS upgrades and other software are available out on the net, but I can't get them to the Plus. I've tried a USB floppy disk drive on the Mini, but it only works with HD diskettes.

Yes! : ) That simple. The Plus was the first 'business Mac' and I loved it until I got a dual floppy SE with an external SCSI HD and an excellerator card with a math co-processor. It was a very capable computer. But, as soon as you used a faster Mac, you never went back to the Plus. You could fix lunch while waiting for disk swapping to boot and load MS Word 3.
What we are saying is that the SCSI bus on the Mac Plus has far more options available for someone shopping for resources.
We have over 300 Macs of almost every model. We have been given over 100 floppy drives. We shop at government surplus stores and auctions. In all that stuff, we only have a couple of 800 k drives but hundreds of SCSI devices. They are SO much easier to find and are so much cheaper to buy and customize.
If you can find a Macintosh 800K (M131) floppy drive, great. Then you also have the problem of finding double density floppy disks ( high density disks with tape over the hole are not reliable in the older drives.)

I remember buying an 800k floppy drive new in 1986 for several hundred Dollars. The external CD-ROM drives sold for $300.
It will probably be much easier to find an Apple 300 or 600i CD-ROM drive that should read CDs burned in your modern Mac. Your original question was about floppies. The real question is "How do I get data from a new computer to an old computer." That question offers more possibilities. I am suggesting a better and cheaper alternative. Having fun with older equipment requires purchasing intermediate equipment.

I like to create recovery disks, but the already installed program OneKey Recovery does not have the option of recovery disks, it allows only larger media such as USB stick and hard disks.
Here to I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to create a recovery disks that will create the original factory settings with 5 partitions?
2. Does any one knows if the recovery siskd sold by Lenovo (for Netherlands they cost between 23 and 38 Euro) would do the job by creating the factory settings with 5 partitions?
My goal is to reformat the hard disk and aprtitionig it the way I need it, but in case of anything, I would like to be able to go back to the original facttory state of the unit, especially if I have a harddisk failure and neer to replace the hard didks.

How to create extra partitions for windows 7 after installing boot camp

i am pretty new at imac so bare with me and i really need help.
IMAC
OS X version 10.9.5 ( i think its os X mavericks ??)
iMac 21. inch , Late 2013
iMac model identifier iMac 14,1
i installed boot camp windows 7 and it works perfectly, after i tried to create two partition using disk utility for windows 7 (ms-dos) format because i really want to separate my files on other partition instead of everything on Boot Camp drive. after i restart choosing windows OS i cannot go back to windows 7.
i hold option on the keyboard but does not show window 7 so i went back to Apple ox s , found my boot camp hd on the desktop with files in it. checked boot camp assistance showing
" The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows. "
i read alot of article about but i don't seem to understand much about
i understand alot of people created these kind of topics
please if someone can help me solve this problem again
i only want an apple os , boot camp for windows 7 and 2 extra partitions for storage , my hard drive is 1TB

How to create an executable for Windows or Unix

I would like to know how to do to create an executable, an application which is able to work under windows for exemple without installing a JVM ?
(When you download a program which was writing in java on internet it is an executable. You don't need a JVM on your system to run it. I would like to do the same thing...)

I think they use JToExe.exe to compile the java project but I think they need a JVM to run the application. I just wanted to know if it is possible to run an application without JVM after any compilation. When we find an executable, most of the time is it a Visual project ? (in c or other langage ?) I will work later for a company which develop a new application in Java. To put it on the market they need to do an executable.

actually i m trying to install os x lion with the following method but could not install. i use 2 methods to install os please help me where im doing mistake.
1st method.
i make a recovery drive with recovery disk assistant on macbook air 13 inch which is shipped with lion 10.7 . and i connect my recovery drive with macbook pro 15 inch on which OS is snow leopard 10.6.3, for upgrade/install OS X lion on my macbook pro 15 inch by recovery drive.
when i hold down option key i can see my recovery drive . i can boot through my recovery drive but when i try to install os x lion the computer says
"you cant upgrade this version of mac os x "
2nd method
i made recovery drive on macbook pro 13 inch which is upgraded snow leopard to lion and then i try to upgrade my macbook pro 15 inch then the same problem i am facing

Profit center group information is available in SAP(T-code:kch3). But, I want to have this information in BW too.
Can anyone tell me how to create a datasource for Profit center group? And which SAP table is able to feed master data for this information?

It looks lilke we need to use the FM like 'G_SET_LIST_SELECT' to get the Profit
Here ais note from the forums to get profit center group from table
From Table SETLEAF, Field SETCLASS = '0106'. Field SUBCLASS with controlling area. Profit center in Field VALFROM.
You will get Group name in Field SETNAME.

Hello friends,
I created Aggregates on Navigational Attributes.
Now they are working fine, but i need to know that how shall i create the Roll up for Aggregates on Navigational Attributes.
The point is the master data changes frequently a lot of time for e.g. for 0customer etc.....
So if any one can send me the step by step documents so as to know how to roll up the Aggregates for Navigation attributes or for aggregates created on Master data....
How to create process chains for the same ?????????
Because if master data changes, then rolling up the aggregates straight forward will not help.
So we need to write a process chain so that it deactivates the aggregate and reactivate again and fill up again..........
If i mis interpreted something please rectify it.......

the changerun that you have to schedule in order to activate the master data will adjust the aggregates automatically. There is no need to deactivate them after master data loads.

Hi Jeyakanthan,
here is an example (put the like statement into the where field)
SELECT T0.CardCode, T0.CardName FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.CardName Like '%%test%%'
The %% sign is a wildcard. If you need start with write 'test%%' and otherwise ends with '%%test'. For contains you need '%%test%%'. You also could combinate this statements like 'test%%abc%%'. This means starts with test and contains abc.

Step 1: Load Required Master Data for 0CostCenter in to BI system
Step 2: Enable Characteristics to support Hierarchy for this 0Cost Center and specify the External Characteristic(In the Lowest Node or Last Node) while creation of this Characteristic InfoObject
Step 3: On Last Node of Hierarchy Structure in the InfoObject, Right Click and then Create Hierarchy MANUALLY by Inserting the Master Data Value as BI dosent Support the Hierarchy load directly you need to do it manually....
Step 4: Mapping
Create Text Node thats the first node (Root Node)
Insert Characteristic Nodes
Insert the Last Node of the Hierarchy
Then you need to create a Open hub Destination for extracting data into the .csv file...
Step1 : Create the Open Hub Destination give the Master Data table name and enter all the fields required....and create the transformations for this Open Hub connecting to the External file or excel file source...then give the location on to your local disk or path of the server in the first tab and request for the data...It should work alright let me know if you need anything else...
