Qosmio G40 - Windows 7 64bit and missing drivers

Hello..i recently upgraded my G40 to win7 64bit and have been very dismayed at all the missing drivers.
so far
1 Cd/hd dvd drive - driver not supported on this product - it was when it was on vista 32 - now i just get cd drive error.??
2 tv tuner - no driver available
3 av controller - no driver available
4 acoustic silencer - no driver available
5 finger print software - installed driver - no hardware found?? it definatly has one ..im looking at it.
6 hdmi control manager - no driver available
7 infrared driver- no driver available
some of these drivers i can do without - (finger print im not worried about 0 but the CD/HD DVD drive is a real problem..
Im normally reasonably fine with installing all these drivers...but it seems there are non there ..or they dont see the hardware....please help.

Wait a moment you are mixing something.
Do not mix CD/DVD driver and HD DVD driver.
When you install operating system optical disc drive must be recognized properly. If you have problem watching HD DVD movies that completely other issue.
So, is optical disc drive recognized properly? Can you use music CDs and watch DVD movies?
If you cannot find Toshiba HD DVD player for 64 bit OS try to use some other players. I don't have HD DVD media and cannot test it for you.
PCI memory controller is maybe cardreader.
By the way, here is the list of all installed stuff on Qosmio G40 (Vista) so you can check if everything is installed and if there is some missing driver. Please note: some additional software is not downloadable.

  • CD/DVD wont burn. And missing drivers.

My DVD drive stopped burning disks! I have checked the drivers and all are up2date.
And when I was checking my drivers I found some "base system devices" missing. I have upgraded from Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64bit. Any help?

  • Windows 7 and Nvidia Drivers

    Hy all!
I have  a Thinkpad T61 (T7300 2ghz, 3gb ram , Nvidia Quadro nvs 140M). My problem is this : one week ago i had installed Windows Vista SP1 with drivers from Lenovo and everything worked fine. On vista experience i had 4.7 on Gaming experience and 4.3 on Aero. Now i installed Windows 7 (i works more faster than vista) but now i get 4.2 for Gaming Experience and 4.1 for Aero and Counter Strike Source runs like hell. On Vista SP1 i had over 50 fps @ 1280x800 and now on Windows 7 i have 20 fps then after some seconds jumps to 60 fps then again slows to 20fps and so on. is irritating.
Anyone have some likely issue with Windows 7? Any recommendations?
    Many thanks!

Windows 7 is still in beta stage, driver support is patchy at best. Wait till the final version.

  • Itunes 10.1 Windows 7 and missing airport express speakers

First, let me say that although this is my first post, I have been lurking here and exploring the forums for a long time. I have windows 7 64bit, an airport express (so that I can play my music remotely on my stereo) and an ipad. Everything works great under itunes 9.x. However, I wanted to upgrade my ipad, which required me to upgrade to itunes 10.x. The ipad update went well, but I no longer have the option to select my remote speakers in itunes or the remote app on the ipad.
I have searched the forums and have performed the following: 1) unselected and reselected both homesharing and folder sharing in itunes, 2) Unselected and reselected 'search for remote devices' in itunes, 3) Changed settings in windows firewall to ensure the 'private' profile for itunes had both udp and tcp protocols, with transverse edge detection on, 4)reset windows firewall and then reinstalled itunes 10.x at least four times, 5)ensured that I can reach my airport express through airport utility on that same computer.
I am at my wits end with this. If I try to reinstall itunes 9.x, it tells me that my library has already been updated and itunes 9 does not open. I would really like to be able to run version 10 and would appreciate any further suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Brock

Just to let everyone know. I believe my issue was with Comodo Internet Security software. Even though I had the firewall portion off, after uninstalling the airport express speakers came back. Note...I had this configuration working fine with iTunes 9, but 10 must've had some underlying changes.

  • Windows Hello and Biometric drivers

I have a HP Elitebook 8760W which I recently upgraded from Windows 7 64 Pro to Windows 10 64 Pro.   All went well except I can't get the fingerprint driver to work with either Windows Hello service or the HP SimplePass program.   I have a Validity 471 driver installed that seems to be recognized by Windows 10 and shows as active in the Device Mgr.  I can get Windows Hello to read the initial fingerprints but when I reboot it refuses to recognize the fingerprint reader. The HP SimplePass program does not work at all.  When I upgraded I had to remove the HP Protecttools in order to do the upgrade.  I later tried to install the latest software with Windows compatibility mode.  Still no love with the Simplepass program.  I really don't want to use the HP software.  All I want to do is be able to log on with my fingerprint reader.    I don't understand why the Windows 10 Hello program won't work with a valid biometrics driver.  All I can surmise is that this driver is not totally compatible with Windows 10.  Has anyone been able to make the biometrics fingerprint reader work with Windows hello in Windows 10?   I wish HP would step up to the plate and update their software! Any help with the Validity 471 driver would be appreciated.

Here is some additional info on trying this driver to work with Microsoft Hello: After the driver is loaded, I'm able to bring up the Windows Hello fingerprint setup program.  I'm also able to scan in my finger prints with no problem.  Hello says I'm all setup for the next login.  I reboot my computer and I get an error message on the main screen that say that it is having trouble identifying me.  I don't understand why I would be getting this message when I am setting it up to use the fingerprint scanner.  I try to scan my fingerprint on this screen - nothing happens. I hit enter to go to the password screen.  I swipe my finger print across the reader again - nothing happens. I then select the option to use the finger print to longon.  I swipe my finger again - nothing happens. I then go to my usual pin based logon and login.  There appears to be some kind of problem with Microsoft's biometric program and how it interacts on login with my Finger print reader.  Once again, I'm using an HP Elitebook 8760W with a Validity VFM - 471 driver.  If anyone knows what the problem with this is, please let me know.  I've exhausted all of my options to make this work.

  • Windows (64Bit) 8.1 drivers for HP laserjet CP 1025

My printer works well on my Toshiba with Win 7, where other printers are installed. A few months ago, I bought a second PC, Samsung Ativ 9, Win 8.1. I downloaded from HP website the drivers and installed the CP1025. I also added another printer, an Epson WorkForce. The Samsung crashed. At the first reboot, it went back to the first turn on screen, like “Hi, we’re setting up things for you”. After several reboots, the machine seemed to work fine. But then I noticed several issues. For instance:
From time to time and in a random manner when I was trying to launch an application (e.g WinWord or Windonws TaskManager) I got an error message “The stub received bad data”.
Damaged Windows update database: the system says that I never run and installed any update, which is not true.
All subsequent attempts, including HP Doctor didn’t work. I had to restore the machine to its original default configuration, with a loss of time and data. The Epson WF printer works just fine.
A few days ago I tried again with a different approach. I manually added the printer from Devices and Printers. This time it worked, I was able to print the test page. However, the PC showed the same issues: it went back to installation screen, missing Apps links, corrupted windows update database, and so on. I restored the system and tried to download the drivers from HP from my Samsung on my PC.  It is the full 315 Mb installation package.  I followed the instructions but the installation failed: the screen suggested to retry. Needless to say, I had to restore my previous configuration.
The printer SN is [Personal Information Removed], firmware 20120130, always used a USB cable to connect the HP 1025 to my PCs (Win 7 and Win 8.1)
I see that another user (erandapre, posted on 07-23-2014 04:13 AM) has the same issue. I also tried to update the firmware by downloading and running “LJCP1020_FW_Update_Security”, 2013-03-05, Version 20121108. However, I see that my firmware remained on revision 20120130.
    Thanks

    Hi @Passalia ,
I see that you are having issues after installing the printer on the Windows 8.1 computer only. I would be happy to help you.
Did you try and run the firmware update on the Windows 7 computer with a USB connection?
If the printer won't update the firmware, then it would need to be serviced.
It sounds like a operating system issue with the errors you are receiving.
    Damaged Windows update database.
    The stub received bad data.
Run the SFC on the computer. Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.
I would suggest to Repair Windows. Repair Windows 8 using Automatic Repair .
Perform a clean boot on the computer and turn off the Antivirus Software.
Then reinstall the printer software again.

    Hi:
Looking at the support page, they should all be there...
You go with this one first and reboot.

  • Is there any "contraindication" about installing every updates from Windows Update (and Intel drivers)?

    Hello!
The question is in the title.
I decided to reinstall Windows 7 on my MacBook Air using Boot Camp and I'm trying to play a video game which is quite laggy. I downloaded and installed the lastest driver for HD Graphics 4000 and my computer didn't explode. Can I also download all the optional updates with Windows Update, including the ones concerning drivers? I read somewhere that we shouldn't install other drivers than the ones on the Boot Camp x.x Support Software installer... Is it true?
    Thanks!

    Peter,
From what I read, I thought Internet based clients always download from Microsoft Windows Update first?
"New in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, when you have a software update point that is configured to accept connections from the Internet, Configuration Manager Internet-based clients on the Internet always scan against
this software update point, to determine which software updates are required.
However, when these clients are on the Internet, they first try to download the software updates from Microsoft Update, rather than from an Internet-based distribution point. Only if this fails, will they then try to download the required software updates from
an Internet-based distribution point. Clients that are not configured for Internet-based client management never try to download the software updates from Microsoft Update, but always use Configuration Manager distribution points."

  • 64bit and 32bit drivers

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64 bit system.
I also have the Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 running Windows XP 32bit
When I try to install my printers in the XP side, which are USB connected to the Vista side, it says that the drivers can't be found. (Looking for 32bit drivers)
I have downloaded drivers for HP Laserjet 1200 and HP Photosmart 8250 but it still says it can't find the proper drivers.
I am on the Vista side, in the printer properties trying to "Add driver" (x86)
Can someone point me to a specific 32bit dirver file names that I can browse for these printers.
    Thank you.

I believe there is a single downloadable executable that contains both the 32-bit and 64-bit drivers. I would guess that the distinction is only maintained on the Download page so that Creative can track usage by platform (for development planning purposes, etc).
The driver signature checks are only an issue in the x64 version of Vista, which has tighter security and fewer compatibility constraints than the 32-bit version of Vista. This is why the checks weren't a problem for you on 32-bit Vista. Hopefully the future versions of the driver will be properly signed so that x64 users don't need to worry about this either.
    PS. Go Opera!

  • Qosmio G40: TV Tuner not working in Windows 7 64bit

    Hi,
After months of patience and following the drivers-info on the Toshiba website,i found it was time to replaced my Vista32 Ultimate with Windows7 Ultimate. It seemed that all drivers now have a 64bit version working under Windows 7, the missing drivers/software could be replace with the Vista 64bit versions. Unfortunately i got some problems with the TOSHIBA PCI DVB-T/Analog TV Hybrid Tuner.
Just searched a couple of ours for a sollution to the TOSHIBA PCI DVB-T/Analog TV Hybrid Tuner (x64) problem with Windows 7. In hardware manager it shows an yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, telling me that there is a problem with the device. Via properties i get an error with code(39).
I have downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba website which returns the following files:
    tisdbt1a64.cab
    TISDBT1A64.inf
    TISDBT1A64.sys
    and an additional 'setISDBTDriverParameters'-regkey.
    1) When i try to replace the drivers by via the properties in devicemanager, i get a message back that the best drivers are already installed and there is no better driver found.
    2) Install manually
There are no instructions to install the downloaded files, nor the regkey. When i try to install the 'inf' file with rightclick, i get a installationerror the the selected inf-file does not suppoert this installationmethod.
    3) When i try to use 'install old hardware', the system ends in blue screen when driver is selected and installed. After booting the system again falls into blue screen. So i had to remove the device using 'save mode'.
    4) I also tried to install Vista 64bit, same behaviour as (3)
    5) I tried both TV-Tuner 2_1_11-ISDB-T and TV-Tuner-2_1_1_0. However, imho the former should be used.
Finally i reinstalled the complete system (from scratch) but same problem occurs.
Any suggestions? I found different threads about only tips are given. Almost no one describes a working sollution.
I have not found any sollution

I have read indicated thread over the weekend. This thread also points to other threads which should have info about correctly installing the drivers. Unfortunately, all these threads points to eachother without really telling how to do a correct installation. Some users seems to be able to use the Vista drivers or the G50 drivers but many others don't. It's strange though, all G40 systems should have the same hardware, no? And after installation of Windows7 they are all equal, no?
    I haven't installed the G50 driver because
    - there is no indication about the type of TV Tuner. I have a TV-Tuner-ISDB-T and it seems that the indicated driver is for the 'TV-Tuner' only (without IDSB-T opton).
    - These drivers are dated 2009 whereas the drivers for G40 are from april 2010.
(although they have a creation date of march 2007 ???)
    - Other users reports same probs with G50 drivers
I tried the G40 32bit, G40 64bit (Vista and Windows7) but none of them work. With the Vista drivers I got nothing but blue screens which finally forced me to reinstall Windows7 from scratch. I don't want to go to the process of reinstalling Windows7 from scratch again...
So, the G40 drivers are published by Toshiba in april 2010. I may trust that these drivers are the ones to be used on my machine? If not, why should i trust all other drivers?
I have noticed that there was an update installed for both TV- and Fingerprint hardware immediatly after installing Windows7. So after installation of W7 and reboot of the system i was notified that there were some updates which includes an update for both hardware components. I installed all drivers and software from Toshiba website AFTER this update installations. This resulted in a problem with both TV- and Fingerprint hardware.
In my second attemt to install Windows 7, i tried to block the automatic updates immediatly after installing Windows7. Don't know if it was succesfull because installation started immediatly and i had to 'cancel' the installation. After this 'cancel', i wasn't sure if something was already installed. Nevertheless, at that point (with no other updates installed), i installed all drivers and software from Toshiba website (with no reboot in-between). After this installation i rebooted my G40 and all but TV-hardware worked (including the Fingerprint Reader). Then i tried to update the TV-drivers without any luck, untill this moring...
This morning I was notified that there were updates to be installed. When i checked out which updates, an update for the TV-hardware seemed to be included. I decided to install this update and guess what... problem is gone!
So here is the list of my 'scucessfull driver installation' with my wireless internet connection active.
(Maybe it's a beter idea to make sure the laptop is not connected to the internet!)
    Initial installation:
    1) Install Windows7 from scratch
    2) After initial installation, switch-off auto-updates for windows
If procedure to install updates is started (otherwise go to 4)
    3) cancell automatic update install, be sure that update TV drivers/Fingerprint Reader are NOT INSTALLED
(eventually go back to recovery point)
    4) Reboot
Install all available Toshiba drivers and software
    5) Install all Win7 64bit drivers/software (skip TV drivers)
    6) Install all Win7 32bit drivers/software
    7) Install all Vista 64bit drivers/software
    8) Install all Vista 32bit drivers/software
    9) Reboot
    Install TV drivers
    10) Install regkey 'SetISDBTDriverParameters'
    (= i changed the regkey from tisdbt1a to tisdbt1a64)
    11) update 'TV-Tuner-ISDB-T' driver using 'Hardware Manager'
    12) Reboot
    Windows update installations
    13) Execute windows updates
    14) Reboot
Repeat 13/14 until TV-driver update is included in the list
It appears that problems are caused by a windows driver update which is installed for both TV- and Fingerprint Reader hardware immediatly after initial installation of WIndows7. I have no time (use my laptop for work too) to re-test above with installation of Windows7 without a connection to the internet. IMHO this should also avoid installation of the autmatic updates immediatly after initial installation. So, if anyone is trying to follow my steps to do a clean installation of Windows7 on a G40 laptop, please do not connect to the internet when initial installation is in progress. Attach to the interne to perform updates after step 12 and let us know the results.

Please provide the HardwareID's for each of those devices. This will aid us in assisting you with the missing drivers.
Just taking a guess, I would say... Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver, Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver, Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver, Realtek Card Reader Driver, and one of the 3 USB 3.0 Host Controller Drivers (Fresco Logic, Renesas Electronics, or NEC Electronics).

  • Windows 7 Drivers For Qosmio G40-12S

I have a Qosmio G40-12S with windows Vista Ultimate 32bit
And i have Install a Windows7 Ultimate 32bit instead of vista , Before that i had download all drivers in this link (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp)
    I have select those choice:
    Notebook > Qosmio > Qosmio G Series > Qosmio G40 > PQG40E > Windows7 32Bit > ALL > ALL > English > Search
but i think there no Windows7 version from all what vista has, For Example: there no Infrared driver for Windows7 but there one for Vista
There no TEMPRO, ASSENT, Acoustic Silencer, AMT, Online Product Information, Remote Control Manager, Touchpad Driver, Tiles for Mobility Center, etc.. For windows 7!
My Vista Driver was 27 driver - windows 7 only 19 driver!!!
8 Driver was missing in that link, were can i find that drivers?
I have search for TouchPad Driver and i have found one for it, But i can't found Infrared Driver and Remote manager so my Remote Control not working now?
    Please advise me!

I presume offered drivers are there for Win7 upgrade only. That means before you upgrade preinstalled Vista you must remove some Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities.
