Qosmio X500-11G - Incrorrect turning off from sleeping mode

Hello everebody,
When I leave my X500-11G (Windows 7 64bit) in turning on condition and no one process is working computer is turning off incorectly in stead of go to sleeping mode. After that X500 don't responce for keyboard and mouse and I have to push power button for continue. X500 is turning on but BIOS informs about incorrect turning off Windows and propose different ways of restart Windows: normal start or safety modes.
Is this problerm famous and how to fix it?
Thank you,
iPal

Hi buddy,
To be honest I also dont know why it happens but theoretically this problem could be caused by software... Are you using preinstalled Windows version or have you installed your own Windows version?
Furthermore I would recommend loading the default settings in BIOS. Therefore press F9 key in BIOS setup.
Have also a look in Windows Event Viewer. Usually you can find a log file about all errors and maybe you can find an interesting information about this problem.

  • My Macbook Pro (early 2011, 15") randomly shuts down after being turned on from sleep mode?

-So over the past week, I find that my macbook pro will randomly shut down within 1 minute of being turned on from sleep mode. Within the first few days of this, I figured out that it will only happen if I move my mac around before its completely into sleep mode. BUT now it shuts down regardless or preparation before sleep mode and everytime I turn my computer back on, I log in, and then have restore my chrome window tabs and stuff. What is going on??
-Do I need to replace my drive??
    *PLEASE help me, thanks!
    P.S. - I am runnng OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5

    austine38,
if you boot into Safe mode, and then immediately restart into normal mode, log in, and put it to sleep, does it still exhibit the same random shutdowns afterwards?

  • Ipod music turns off in sleep mode

Ipod nano 6th gen music turns off in sleep mode or when you turn it off. It always continued to play until I paused it before.

By the way all you guys freaking out about this, go to home screen. click settings. go to music. go to the sleep/wake button section. change double clikc for: to Play/Pause. Now when you wanna listen to songs, click power button 1nce to put in sleep mode, then double-click power button really fast once in sleep mode to unpause your song and resume listening. lol, i figured this out 2 days after 1.1 update..

  • Power supply vs. logic board?  turns off in sleep mode.

My imac g5 (2004 - 1st generation?) is either turning completely off or going into some un-wake-up-able mode after it's put to sleep. (I have to switch off/on the power strip and turn the computer on all over again.) And sometimes if it's sleeping (power light pulsing on front) it may or may not wake from sleep by pushing the power button. Often touching a key in that circumstance will cause it to crash, so I've quit using that altogether as a method of waking it up. I've reset the SMU a number of times throughout the past few months and it has not cleared up this problem.
Last night after I put it to sleep it switched in to the un-wake-up-able mode. I could still hear something running (not a fan, just an electrical hum) where it seems like it's crashed and can't shut itself off. I had to turn off the power and try to turn the computer back on. It wouldn't respond the first couple times. Then the power light glowed for a while but it still didn't turn on completely. After a few more minutes I tried again. Maybe I held the power button for too long, but I heard a long single beep, the fans whirred, and then everything started up as usual.
I've read a number of threads seemingly related to these issues, but am now not clear about whether this is a power supply issue or a logic board issue. I have yet to open the back and check for bulging capacitors. Just thought I'd ask here first.

I am having a very close issue too (posted also in a more recent thread about power button not functioning). My old iMac G5 20 inches got a power supply that went bad two years ago. I had it replaced and all went fine until two weeks ago.
My wife was using it, while I was away: machine shut down with a 'pop!' sound.
She tried to start it up again, but after pressing the button a couple of times - the last one longer - she had a long strong peep. The machine went on for a while and then off again. Scared, she left it off.
After checking, no reported issue seems to fit to the problems shown: power supply is working; logic board too. The machine is working fine, but on sleep, it dies out. While doing tasks, at undetermined times, it shuts down with a 'pop!'. Sometimes you can restart it immediately. Sometimes you can't and have to wait one or more hours. No evidently bad caps on board, led check returns 1 (no 2 flashing or attempting to turn on) with dead computer, otherwise all working fine. Hardware test also passed. Console messages have nothing relevant or clearly understandable to offer.
Still can't figure out a solution. Many user are pretty fast in suggesting to bringing the machine to Apple. Unfortunately not all around the world we have/need cars. And getting the 20 kg of iMac by feet/metro to the shop it ain't such a nice walk. When I fried the power supply, there was no sufficiently large box on sale to pack the computer and have it send to the shop. I had to wait for the technician - on a convenient day - do drop by and take it (and he knew he was going to repair it)!
Will post, if I have further developments.

    HI,
Go into the setup menu from the display of the unit and find prefferances. In there is the option called "energy save mode". You should be able to turn it off there.

Connect to the wall socket for power supply, that way Wi-Fi will stay connect even in sleep mode.

  • Turn off or sleep mode

    hello
is it fine to keep the mac in sleep mode all the time or to shut down the mac every time that i'm finish to use?

Sleep mode is fine. If you're not going to be using the Mac for several days the recommendation is to turn it off. I rarely turn mine off.

  • Why does my Nexus Galaxy turn off during sleep mode?

I can't put my phone is sleep mode for longer then 10 seconds and it will shut off and I can't upgrade till next year any advice?

I can understand how you feel about having issues with your phone Elisa292005, especially power cycling and features not functioning properly. I know upgrading may fix the issue but we would like to fix the problem first. The information that Ann154 provided was great. Safe mode can tell you if an application is causing the problem and that you should remove it quickly. I also would like to know if the phone id damaged? How long have you had this issue? If you are unable to upgrade, we have many other options that may work for you. First, do you have insurance? Secondly, if you don't have insurance, take a look at this option for replacing your phone http://vz.to/16vfYHl . Lastly, please check to ensure you have the most updated software. Software updates can help the phone function better. I look forward to hearing from you and please keep us posted.

  • AirPort turns off in sleep mode

I have a MacBook Pro and when at home I use the built in AirPort to connect to the internet via my wireless router. Over the last two days an odd new behavior has developed. When I put the computer to sleep, then wake it up later, AirPort has been mysteriously turned off. I go into System Preferences and turn it back on, and everything is fine, but I wonder why this is happening in the first place. How can I make this stop?

I am not sure if your AirPort problem could be related to your computers SMC. But, you might want to read here (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411), do some research if you think it is needed, and consider doing an SMC reset.

  • What turns off in sleep mode?

I can't find a description online or in the user manual.

When a computer goes to sleep, all the processes are suspended, and the state of the OS and all the processes are stored in your notebook's Random Access Memory (RAM). Since RAM is very fast to access, a computer can resume from sleep very quickly. However, RAM requires constant power to maintain its data, so a computer in sleep still uses some power, but not as much as when it is running.
Obviously, since the OS is suspended, everything else is suspended too, such as the screen, peripherals and most input devices (Windows controls which devices can still operate when in sleep).

  • So my MacBook pro, after I turn it off from "sleep mode" for over an hour....will make a cracking sound for a little while when I turn it back on. It sounds like something is burning internally or something. Help

I need to know why it's doing this, thanks

    Hi
I dont know why the first message appeared but usually this message is shown when the HDD recovery or Recovery disk would be started.
Do you have some recovery disk in the CD/DVD drive?
Check this otherwise I have no explanation for that
Maybe you should backup the data and should recover the notebook again
    Would be worth a try

When restarting after this happens, I get a different BSOD when trying to load windows (attachments 3+4).
I then have to go into an option on the laptop boot screen to repair. It says that it cannot find anything to repair and suddenly I am able to go into windows again. I started having this problem later in the evening on April 6th, 2013 I guess. I went to bed and just closed the lid and when I awoke in the morning, I opened it and is was a BSOD. I guess a major change was installed 9 'updated' drivers from the Driver Reviver Program.

    Thanks for nothin'
We don't get much activity here on the weekend.
If you had got feedback, it would probably be that updating drivers from the device makers (or from Microsoft's Windows update) sometimes causes problems with laptops. It's because OEMs like Toshiba often tweak the chips and consequently the drivers.
The bottom line is that it's safest to get the new stuff from Toshiba (here). Turns out that they (apparently) update only to fix bugs. So you are sometimes a little behind.

  • The laptop keeps powering off from sleep mode

At night, I close the lid and retire to bed. If I open the lid within 5-30mins, it wakes up and askes for password. However, in the morning when I open the lid, there is no response, and I have to press Power button several times, for it to boot up again.  When this happens, it seems to have created "recovered" documents in Word and Excel. Can anyone tell me why this has started happening in the past 6 weeks?

I have an awful lot of code...This lot is just from 8.48 today..This may not all get to you, so is there another way I can enable you to see all the logs?

  • PB Turns off In Sleep Mode - Will only turn on with different battery

This has happened twice now. I close my powerbook to put it to sleep, or after some time it automatically goes to sleep.
    Open the power book nothing.
    Press the power button nothing.
    Check the battery... fully charged.
Try with and without plugging unit in. No start.
Remove battery, plug power in... nothing.
    Try to reset PRAM nothing.
Switch to a second battery, it starts.
When it happens again I try all the above and then I switch back to the previous battery and the thing starts.
The batteries were replacement batteries as part of the recall a few months ago.
    Any thoughts what is happening?

Yeah, it got wet and damaged the battery or charging circuit.
