  • Qosmio x70-a-10j wont boot up

I bought the new x70 model on thursday, on saturday was playing a game and it shut down. Now it wont turn on again. Weird part is I was afraid this would happen because I checked some places and found out many people were having the same problem.
I currently own a qosmio, a satellite and one of those smaller laptops, not counting the new x70 which is packed waiting to be returned. As you can see I have always bought toshiba so I went ahead and bought it.
Does anyone here know exactly what is happening with the x70 series? Everywhere I went on the web no solutions just the same  booting up issue after overheating.
Seriously considering going for the asus X750G with the 780M nvidia card but since I always bought toshiba I decided to go first with the qosmio.
So main question is should I ask for a refund or exhange it for a new one. Im sure I can get either cause I bought it 4 days ago.
Also does anyone which part of the hardware is the cause? im thinking its the internal power supply or the motherboard itself that's fried but no one has reported the solution or where the problem is.
p.s.: would apreciate a fast response because the guys are coming tomorrow and I have to decide on what to do.
    Thanks in advance

Sorry to necro this but I also own the qosmio x70. I got it for a steal of $1100 . Anyway, after searching through forums I think the best thing to do would be to reset the bios. You have 2 options for this. A: leave your computer off for a couple years, or B: remove the coin battery inside the laptop. You'll have to find some guides but removing the coin battery for ten seconds has fixed this for a lot of people.

  • Qosmio X70-A-K2S - How do I get to the BIOS menu?

    Hello!
    I have a laptop Qosmio X70-A-K2S.
I want to replace one of the hard drives on the SSD.
How do I get to the BIOS menu?
Recommendations from the user manual (reboot and release F2 for 1 sec.) do not help.
I can not get any BIOS menu or BOOT menu.
But easily fall into the recovery menu by pressing the 0.

    >Recommendations from the user manual (reboot and release F2 for 1 sec.) do not help
Sure this is right is Win 8 preinstalled?
Probably this is the reason why you cannot access the BIOS.
The Windows 8 does not shut down the notebook by default but it perform hybrid shut down.
This allows to boot the notebook much faster but as I said, it prevents accessing the BIOS.
Take a look here how to perform shut down on Windows 8 preinstalled notebook:

  • Qosmio X70-A-12N - no sound over HDMI after Win 8.1 installation

    Hallo,
I installed on my Qosmio Windows 8.1 and all driver.
Now I have a Problem with HDMI Sound.
When I connect with TV, I see the Picture on TV but don't get sound.
I go to Control Panel: Sounds and Multimedi and I see the internal devices (loudspeaker from Laptop and Headset).
I activated to see disconnected devices and no other devices will be displayed.
I assume, it fail a driver.
I installed Sound driver, DTS Studio Sound, Toshiba Audio Enhancement and SRS Premium Sound HD Plug-In.
I don't installed the regestry patch -> For what I need it?
Have you an idea to solve my problem?

    (Sorry for my bad english)

    Hi
    >I installed on my Qosmio Windows 8.1 and all driver.
As far as I know the Qosmio X70-A-12N were preinstalled with Windows 8.1 64bit system and this OS was configured by Toshiba.
Did you install new Windows 8.1 or did you use the Toshiba system?
Did you create recovery medium (recovery disk or USB flash memory stick)?
In case you create such recovery disk, I would recommend you to use it in order to set the system back to factory settings. This should fix your HDMI sound issue.
How about other Toshiba software installation like for example Toshiba system driver, display driver etc? Did you install all the Win 8.1 drivers and tools which were released for this unit?
Missing software could be main reason for your HDMI issue

  • Keyboard lights settings on Qosmio X70

    Hi guys and girls
Just got a new TOSHIBA Qosmio X70. Is it possible to make the keyboard back lights stay on longer ??
    Many thanks
    Lee

I don't have this Qosmio model but I think you can change keyboard backlight settings in BIOS.
Please perform complete shutdown - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm - and start notebook with F12. There you should find option enter setup.
Check options for power management and there you should find option Keyboard backlight control mode. You can choose between ON, OFF and Timer mode. When you use timer mode you can choose how much second keyboard light will be on.
    Check it out.

  • Qosmio X70-B-10T - VGA output supports only 1920x1080

I'm trying to set two HP Compaq LA2405wg monitors on my Qosmio X70-B-10T, one via HDMI and the other via VGA.
    The monitors run @ 1920x1200.
Unfortunately, whilst the HDMI screen comes out okay, the screen connected via VGA only goes up to 1920x1080.
Is there a way to fix this?
My old Satellite Pro L870 managed both screens like this just fine.

    The notebook supports two GPUs.
    Internal Intel HD Graphics 4600
    External AMD Radeon R9 M265X
What GPU is in use and what GPU controls the both monitors?
If you use the ATI GPU you could check the CCC (catalyst) settings.
Catalyst Control Center → MonitorProperties → Attributes
    and here change MonitorAttributes to:
uncheck the option “Use Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) or driver defaults”
Then you could set Maximum resolution to: 1920x1200 at 60 Hz
After that restart Catalyst, set 1920x1200 then it should work.
If it will not work change also
CCC → DisplayOptions → from “Detect…” to “Use manual detection only" ( i must click the Detect Displays button) and on the same page
    displayManagementOptions
For diplays of limites resolution capabilities → List all possible modes ( including panning modes)

    Thx for fixing that SOON

    how long must we wait?
it is simply not acceptable that you are selling gaming notebooks, which you can not play because you have to have the fear start to burn them!!
finally brings a bios driver out cools this whole s***.
your support is very very bad.
if you have a problem you will be redirected to the forum where nobody helps or granted only s***** advices.
or you should call the expensive special phone number for 1 per minute but please.
    I have a qosmio x70 a12, which has cost me nearly 2000 .
I can think for this amount of money you expect service and not dead left (bios 404) or during the day no download limit.
I'm almost compelled, the system cpu to throttle 100mV does not run out of laptop due to overheating. and in battlefield bad company 2 from the year 2010!

  • Nokia booklet doesnt boot and no bios

    hi
Ive bought a new booklet and installed all the updates. While surfing on the internet i suddenly wasnt able to use the keyboard or the touchpad. I wanted to restart but the power button didnt react too. So i took the battery out of the booklet.
But now it doesnt boot and theres a black screen. I cann hear the fan but after a few minutes the booklet turns off aggain. What can i do???

There is no fan, but what you hear might be the hard disk. BTW, does the Booklet/BIOS really not offer an option to boot from SD cards (which has been a common feature for ages on many notebooks featuring such readers), or do they just need to be formatted in some particular/peculiar way? I did see an "Operating System not found" error message when waking up from hibernation while an SD card was plugged in, so under some circumstances it DOES seem to try (and give preference over the hard disk).

  • Qosmio X70 - Wireless connection issue

    Hello Everyone,
I totally had enough of Windows 8.1 on my Qosmio X70-A laptop, so I decided to get rid of Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 Ultimate.
Since installing Win 7 my Wireless NIC connects to my network, then drops every so often and takes ages to reconnect.
I have installed the drivers from Toshiba's website to get them working and the problem started. This then lead me to install Intel Driver Update Utility 2.0, which recommended an update which I have installed. The WLAN is still intermittent. It is not my router as my iPad and other PC's can still access the internet,
    *My Toshiba:*
    +Part Number:+ PSPLTE-098052EN
    +Serial Number:+ YD031932C
    +Wireless NIC+: Intel Wireless-N 7260
    +Hardware ID:+ Ven_8086 Dev_08B1
    +Current Driver:+ 17.13.11.5
I have checked the that power management in Device manager is turned off for this device.
It is driving mad, any help would be much appreciated.

Ave you noticed this issue using AC power supply and using notebook with battery power supply?
Please check advanced power settings in power profile that you use and set options for WLAN card to maximum performance.
Test it please and post some feedback.

  • MacBook doesnt boot when wi-fi router is on.

    Greetings.
Thats pretty weird but it is how it is. First time my mac refused to boot i was really confused: tried everything and it didnt help: i saw a loader on the screen but it didnt boot further. Then i decided to re-install Mac Os. Did it, but next time i turned my Mac off i wasnt able to boot it again.
A miracle solved the problem: occasionally i unplugged power supply from my wi-fi router (D-Link DI-524 that is. Latest firmware update installed. original Release:B), and voila my MacBook did a happy beep-beep and started to load a system. So as it is now my MacBook Doesnt boot when my router is on and it does boot if i turn router off.
My MacOsX 10.4.1 is freshly installed with all latest updates that i downloaded via "update software" thing. Did no tuning to it, almost no 3rd party software installed so far, apart from MS Office 2004. My question is pretty simple: How can i make my MacBook boot without unplugging power from my router (since its pretty weird to do it every time i turn my Mac on).
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you for your help.

Could it just be stuck trying to join a Network, or mounting a Share of some kind?
Might try dragging these to the Desktop, reboot, and see if it works...

  • Qosmio X70-A-12X - changing Intel Wi-Fi card from

    Hi ,
I just bought new *Qosmio X70-A-12X*: Catalog number : PSPLTE-0CF062PL
where is factory instaled Wi-Fi card : Intel Wireless-N 7260 , but I want to change the Wi-Fi card from "N" to "AC"
( up to 867 Mbps) I think to choose between this model :
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...oth-brief.html
    or this model :
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...265-brief.html
(the second is newest model) , but I am not sure which card I can safe replace.
I do not know what kind of slot is used in my laptop : HMC ? or M2 (2230) ? M2 (2226 Solder Down) or maybe M2 (1216 - 1.8V / 3.3V) ? I want to instal the best , the fastest , the newest and the most modern Wi-Fi intel card as is possible in my laptop. Please advice me with the best and working on my computer solutions.

    >... but I am not sure which card I can safe replace.
Fact is that such upgrade is not supported by Toshiba and all you do is on your own risk.
At first I must say that such upgrade will cancel valid warranty. Qosmio machines are pretty expensive so I think you should think about that. Maybe you can talk with Toshiba service in your country and ask if they can do this and offer guarantee that you can use valid warranty in the future.
Second, and very important aspect, is that you will not find precise information about such upgrade. With a little bit luck you can find someone who done this successfully and your decision will be based on such non approved user-to-user information.
Try to contact nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and talk with guys about all this.

  • Were to get Qosmio X70-A-11Q with a Portuguese keyboard layout

    Hello,
I live in Austria but I am Portuguese.
I am wondering if and where I can get the Qosmio X70-A-11Q with a Portuguese keyboard layout.
I wouldnt mind buying it directly from the factory or wait a little more.
    Thank you in advance!
    Shark

    >And would toshiba.pt send the laptop all the way to Austria by post?
Toshiba.pt does not sell the notebook. but you have to find an dealer who would sell this device.
    >How about guarantee? Do I get support from Toshiba Austria?
I think all warranty details can be found on Toshiba page (Toshiba.pt)
But from my knowledge the notebook is covered by one year standard warranty. Of course you can purchase some additional services you should check this on Toshiba page.
But the standard warranty covers only the notebook for one year and in case something would go wrong you have to repair it in country where you made the purchase.

  • IBook doesnt boot anymore

    Servus alltogether,
I really have a BIG problem with my iBook here. I've installed the Screen Spanning Doctor in order to activate a second screen, and my iBook doesnt boot anymore. It gets to the point with the grey apple and the wheel, and then (using apple+v) there seems to be a problem by loading a file called dyld
    dyld:library not loaded: usr/lib/libz.1.dylb
    etc/rx line 262 55 trace / BPT trap couldnt find root user usr/sbin /update
I tried to reset nvram in open firmware without any sucess. I can log on in single user mode, but i dont know what i can do now from there.
It would be also very helpfun if soneone could tell me how to mount a external hard drive (I have a Lacie hard drive, perhaps I can rescue my data. Its still there, I checked it in single user mode.) or a usb-stick.
Perhaps it is also helpful when I tell you this: It is a G4 ibook, using the newest patch of mac os x tiger, and my graphic chip is a ati readon 9200 (which should work with the screen spanning doctor but apparently didnt).
I am really in trouble here, because I need this iBook for university. So please help me if you can.

Try starting up from a CD (Apple-C) or in safe mode: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393
Either of these methods should get your booted. Then, back up your data! Next, try Disk Utility to fix your disk. You may have to reinstall the OS. Luckily, you have that backup now.

please, take a look at the tread first. if the suggestions don't work, i believe you'll need battery replacement as you said.
