Qosmio X70-A - What changes are made in BIOS 1.4

Someone installed new version ?
What changes introduced ?

Rolf, BIOS 1.4 was advertised on the website once before.
The last time the installer kept saying that it wasn't meant for my notebook.
I insisted, asked my local Toshiba call center for support (helpful they were not - "Sounds like an important hardware problem. You should bring it in a service center. Minimum 3 days time to solve"
so I ended up sending e-mails which were, in the end, answered by the EU support staff by saying the update was in fact not meant for my X70-A and they had withdrawn it from the site.
You would expect them not to make the same mistake twice, right? Well, it appears they did. I get the same error as before. I checked the timestamps on the files and nothing seems to have changed since the last BIOS update fiasco. So, my advice, don't get your hopes up.
P.S. I've also seen multiple drivers marked as recent - as in post-20 January - but the display driver file is marked "20131008"... download keeps interrupting so I think these drivers will be, mostly, duds again. Oh, well, I guess I'l complete another complaint form... :)

Ok, so as far as the hard drive goes, go for the biggeset one you can afford/need. 500 gb, should be plenty big for just about anybody. But as for the speed of the drive.... Yes, a 7200 rpm drive will drain the battery life much quicker than a 4200 rpm drive or even a 5400 rpm drive. Apple has been shipping 4200 rpm drives as a standard for ever practically, and recently made the 5400 rpm the new standard with the 7200 as an option. More important than the physical speed is the buffer size. A nice big buffer will provide quicker access to data and not eat into your battery life. Then there is also the option of an SSD (solid state drive), but those are still crazy expensive.
I've read any Serial ATA drive is compatible with the drop sensor. I upgraded my hard drive with a Seagate, and it works great. Apple generally ships Toshiba drives in their laptops.
replacing a hard drive can be a bit of work. Hi All,
PLease advise me what changes are required for OSS note 456507 (Assign the function groups QOWK or ORFC in the authorization object S_RFC to tRFC/qRFC users).
Im thinking of just going with the following additions to Role
AAAB Cross Application Auth Objects
S_RFC
Activity 16
Name of RFC - *
Type of RFC - *
But wanted to check what the implications of doing such a thing were, are there any negative points that you can think of opening up the access as above, as opposed to what was suggested in the OSS note?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Sandhya,
S_RFC is needed in case of making any RFC calls.
Normally it is needed for users that are mentioned in RFC destinations.
As such mostly these users are system/communication users or super users.
Without giving access to function groups through S_RFC successful RFC call can´not be done.
Now the value of field name of RFC can be * but only for those users which are really global super users. In case you need this authorization for any selective functionality as in you case only for function groups QOWK or ORFC then you should try to restrict the access. Negatiity is only that in case of * the authorization access increases but for system or super users you dont need to worry too much really because with system/communication users no one can login and the super users will have sap_all generally. Also their passwords will be a well kept secret so that a miususe can not be made.
By global super users I mean users which are used for various types of activites.

Clear IDOC creation when only header level changes are made ME22N.

Hi All,
when the PO is on changed in the header level only(for example header texts and header code) and when we execute RSNAST00 one BADI getts triggered which checks if the Item category is 9 and badi will clear the IDOC creation.
If the PO item category is = 9, the IDOC must not be created. This badi works fine if the changes are made at
1)at Item level
2)both header level and Item level
In case of 1 and 2 we have both header segment E1EDK01 and item segments E1EDP01.As a result it checks for the item category in the item segment.so idoc is not created.
3)BADI is not working when the changes are made at the header level only. The IDOC is getting created even though the PO has the item category as 9.
I found in this case only header segments are availble while debugging and the item segments are not there to check the condition for the item category.
Please any one can suggest me possible solutions to clear idoc creation when only header level changes are made ME22N.
The BADI used is as below.
DATA : lwa_data TYPE edidd.
DATA : lw_dp01 TYPE e1edp01.
DATA : lwa_control TYPE edidc.
CHECK idoc_control-rcvprn = '3PL' AND idoc_control-idoctp = 'ORDERS05'.

Hi all,
Is there any way that I can get the item category details when Only header level changes are made to the PO in ME22N and only header segments are available in the IDOC.
Is this possible:- Fetch the po number and item category details from ekpo table that matches with the header segment po number and then check for item category value to clear the idoc creation?
Any information is helpfull.

IWeb will not Publish. The publish icon stays red and no changes are made. Please help.

The question says everything. When I click "publish site," the world icon at the top of the screen stays red (instead of whirling about and turning blue), and no changes are made. When I exit the program, it says, do you want to exit while changes are still being made?
This is confusing, since nothing seems to be uploading according to the icon. The website really needs to be updated and I welcome and appreciate any and all help. Thank you.

Orders to stay release (VKM3) even if changes are made to the order

Hi,
Is there a setting to keep the sales orders in released status once the order is release for credit through VKm3.
That is even if the order is release if you make any changes to the order it goes back to credit blocked status.
Is there any way to stop this from happenin. I want the order stay released even if any changes are made to the order once a release has been done in VKm3.

Hi,
Go to the transaction code OVAK,
Select the correct Credit group and risk category and enter into the features of this combination.
Here if you check the fields, you can find that there are certain fields which decides whathappens to a sales order when it is released from credit block and then some changes made.
You can configure these fields to enable your functionality. As I am in different network now, I am not able to give u the correct fields.
But as per the functionality, it should ideally block the order because the change can even be in price , that is the Credit exposure itself. Hence it should ideally block.

You need to make the following u201CFine-Tune controlu201D settings for the output type so that output will be generated automatically once changes are made.
ONLM --> Messages --> Output control --> Message types -->Define Message Types for Purchase Order --> Fine-Tuned Control: Purchase Order --> Include indicator 2. Printout of changes for the output type.

Synonym will be validated when it is accessed, no need to take an action.

where is factory instaled Wi-Fi card : Intel Wireless-N 7260 , but I want to change the Wi-Fi card from "N" to "AC"

Fact is that such upgrade is not supported by Toshiba and all you do is on your own risk.
At first I must say that such upgrade will cancel valid warranty. Qosmio machines are pretty expensive so I think you should think about that. Maybe you can talk with Toshiba service in your country and ask if they can do this and offer guarantee that you can use valid warranty in the future.
Second, and very important aspect, is that you will not find precise information about such upgrade. With a little bit luck you can find someone who done this successfully and your decision will be based on such non approved user-to-user information.
Try to contact nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and talk with guys about all this.

Shared Reminders: How do I stop getting emails when changes are made?

My wife and I both have iPhone 5's that we bought 2 weeks ago. We are sharing a calendar and a "Grocery" list in reminders. I have everything set up where it is working properly but I keep getting emails when a change is made to the grocery list. I don't get emails when there are changes to the calendar.
I want to stop getting emails when there are changes made to our grocery list but I am not sure how to do it. We both have icloud accounts and we both have checked the box under preferences in my calendar for "in app notifications" for icloud invitations. When I open Reminders in icloud I don't see a preferences for reminders.
If it helps , or makes any difference, my wife has a yahoo mail account and I have a hotmail account. She does not get emails about changes being made.

Did you try to switch Push "off" and fetch to "manually"? This way no mail is delivered until you choose to open the mail app. The moment you open Mail on your device, your mail account will be checked and if any, mail will be delivered.
Fetch New Data
This setting lets you turn Push on or off for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo!, and any other push accounts on iPhone. Push accounts deliver new information to iPhone whenever new information appears on the server (some delays may occur). You might want to turn Push off to suspend delivery of email and other information, or to conserve battery life.
When Push is off, and with accounts that don’t support push, data can still be fetched—that is, iPhone can check with the server and see if new information is available. Use the Fetch New Data setting to determine how often data is requested. For optimal battery life, don’t fetch too often.
Turn Push on: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then tap to turn Push on.
Set the interval to fetch data: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then choose how often you want to fetch data for all accounts.
To conserve battery life, fetch less frequently.
Setting Push to OFF (or setting Fetch to Manually on the Fetch New Data screen) overrides individual account settings.

No prompt to check in file when no changes are made

Hi,
Now I know what you are thinking, why check out if you do not need to make any changes and I would say that is a valid point. But this scenario is more prone to cropping up than you think. Imagine a user is sent a link to document in a library. They click
the link > check out and then close after just reading the document. That file is now checked out and prevents someone who actually needs to edit the file from editing it.
Steps to re-produce:
Launch file from document library
Check out using the info bar
Close the application via the X in the top right hand corner.
The application will close and the file will remain checked out and at no point was the user prompted to check in the file.
Now I have seen a similar post saying that the above behaviour is by design but to relay this back to my end user with confidence do we have any official Microsoft documentation out there to state this fact please?

This is the by default behavior, I haven't seen a good way to due with this issue, I would suggest you to disable require document check out if it is not necessary for the library.
Also, you can consider using a timer job, to check the document with status of check out, then send reminder to the user who check out the document, let the user check in the document in time.

How to not retriggered output type when changes are made in Purchase Order

Could you let me know how can I resolve this one?
We have a custom output type. Now this output type should NOT be automatically retriggered if a change is made to the document/purchase order. Currently the system automatically repeating the output type for every change made to the document/purchase order. But there is still an option for the user to be able to manually repeat the output.

1.In order to restrict the output type to trigger you need to write the requirement routine in transaction
VOFM> requirements>output control.
2. create the requirement routine in application EF and write the required logic and pass the sy-subrc EQ 4 if you not require to trigger the output type and pass sy-subrc equal 0 to trigger the output type.
3. assign this requirement routine to custom output type.

What to do when changes are made and refresh doesn't show the changes?

I'm new to SCSM and I have created some lists in authoring tool and when I go into console to edit them they are not showing up. Even after refresh. Also creating some new incident views for support groups are not showing up until I restart the Management
server. Is there a service or something I can restart that will make changes take affect faster?

the poster is editing in the console, so no MP import/export should be required, that being said, the console does do a lot of caching, so if you don't see something, you might need to restart the console.
you can restart the three or four Services marked "System Center", you should ge the same effect as restarting the server. that being said, restarting the server should not be required. if restarting the management services is really required,
then there is probably some performance issue with your database or some performance issue with your workflow (first) management group server.

Anyway You can use column to help if know column length...
Example:
SQL> set lines 100
