Qosmio X770 sound is crackly and distorted

Hi,
Anything I listen to, be it music or dialogue the sounds crackles and nearly stops and just doesn't seem to be working correctly. I have no idea if this is because of one of my settings and is easily fixed or I should take it back? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is for sure a Mickey Mouse notebook!
The speakers (especially the subwoofer) have some kind of background noise, even the volume is off or I plug something in the output jack.
However I noticed if I plug the USB devices on the LHS, the noise disappears.
I haven't this problem in the beginning or I havent notice that, anyways who knows something overheated in the meantime.

When back and looked at the speaker and the front internals were impressing upon the cap cover?
So I got another speaker to try again and see a difference? This time it checked out! (seems the original was bad and the previous alternate speaker I tried was not working either.
Just pass this on for anyone else.

Ipad sounds realy bad and distorted!

I bought my ipad five days ago, and it worked fine but yesterday it started sounding bad and distorted, I never dropped it! It just sounds horrible, I tried restoring it but it didnt work. I had it in ios 5 and updated it to ios 6 but it worked fine and now it sounds horrible! I have it since five days ago and dont no what to do!

My IMAC 9.1 sound is cracking and then quits.

My speakers start cracking and then they stop working. The headphones will do the same thing. It started out as intermitant and now it has failed completely. If I unplug the power for a while it will work until it starts to warm up and fails again.

No unfortunatley it's too old, you are referring to Target Display Mode which became avialble in 2009, your 2008 needs to have the HD replaced. I'd still do that if everything else is OK or you can simply buy a new MM and display or even a new iMac or an Apple refurbished iMac to save money.

HF-300 Sound Quality - Loudness and Distortion

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody has any comparative testing on the sound quality and loudness with this unit. I am not sure if mine is faulty or just the best that can be expected from the speakerphone.
Problem is (tested using n95 8 gig and n80) that once the volume is turned up to 70% or more the units sound is distoted terribly. Sounds like the speaker is vibrating and crackling. The symptom is like when you turn up the volume on any speaker beyond its capability which then gets that distortion/vibration effect.
That said when used below 70% volume its too soft to be useable for everyday driving conversations.
Golden question if you own the HF-300 also is can you put it on 100% volume and have loud and clear sound without any negative sound quality? May help if you mention what phone model you have tested youyr with also.
I really think it must be a fault as everything marketed and reviewd about these units states 'loud n clear'. Surely its meant to be used on 100% also without such distortion or why have 100% volume possible.

Sorry to ask again but is the car kit installed with an additional single Nokia speaker or is all audio played through the car audio system (original car speakers)?
Most likely in the second case is that the installer has routed the audio incorrectly.
The kit has two outputs: stereo for music and mono for calls. Mono calls can be installed to run through the single Nokia speaker but musics should be installed to run throught the car stereo 'aux in' channel, hence the question about what audio is distorted.

Crackly and distorted audio

Hey all
Anyone else experience this problem? The graphic equaliser is pretty much useless on the ipod, if you put it on the "rock" setting for example, it just seems to distort the sound, so I have to leave it flat. I even upgraded my headphones to some sennheiser CX300s, which although being better quality, still present the same sound distortion. Also, this doesn't happen so much when the EQ is flat, but it does still happen, is that some frequencies cause a sort of crackling noise, I've checked it with two pairs of headphones and it is apparent with both, it's really annoying! Anyone else experience this problem? What can be done about it?

I have the same problem on my iPod but the songs sound good on my PC. I am using the line out on the iPod connected to a headphone amplifier. Sound is distorted using the 3mm plug on the iPod also. Tried it with and without sound check, did not matter.
Since it happens through the line out I think it is a problem with the pre-amp in the iPod.

I am an Ae novice. I imported an Mpeg4 file into Ae with sound and applied some visual effects. The sound in the Mpeg4 is great, but by the time I apply a RAM Preview it is distorted - playing too early, and skipping like a broken tape. I don't have the sound file separately as it is cut up and positioned carefully in Adobe Pr. What can I do? Or, what is going wrong?

My Sound Is Cracking and Popp

Is there something wrong with the audigy2 ZS soundcard? It's not my speakers, and I haven't added any new hardware. About 3 weeks ago it started popping, and crackling. I've been using this computer to do songwriting and recording with a 'Sonar5 Producer' for over a year now with no problem of anything like this noise I'm getting now. The only new software I've?added is 2 games, they are 'Blitzkreig' and 'Pool Of Raidiance'. I did update my bios through Dell, whom?I purchased the computer from. One of their Tech people had me turn off my intergraded sound in order to fix the problem when I called them about it, which it did stop the noise only for about 20 minutes or so, then it started back up again. This problem is usually due to either the headphones, or the headphone jack itself.
I have had 2 or 3 headphones do this in the past and this was due to the phones themselves.
But my friend had an mp3 player that lost the right half of the sound altogether.
It doesn't matter whether he uses headphones, an FM transmitter or AV stereo cord.
I think this is due to an error in the jack.
I'm afraid I don't know how to fix it myself, but Apple will probably replace it since it is technical not physical.

Sound too loud and distorted from capture

It seems that for some reason when I capture video from my Sony PD170 DV camera, that the sound captured is way too loud on the timeline, even though it reads acceptable on the waveforms and the green lights that go up and down.
My last capture an hour ago, from the timeline, the sound was crakely listening through the computer speaker and headphones. I then listened through headphones directly from the original tape in the camera and it sounded ok.
Any suggestions? A problem with the compouter or a setting I need to adjust in FCP for capturing video?
At System Preferences/Sound the input volume is at half set from the internal mic.

I tried a capture from a friends camera and FCP system. Same problem on time line. Random pencil thin blank spots on the audio wave form. So it must be on the tape. Maybe bad tape, electronic interference in recording room or some camera problem recording. Used two separate wireless lavs. Drop-out in exactly same place on both channels could rule out room interference because of different frequency lavs.
I did short analogue test copy from PD170 to Trv-900 and it eliminated the drop-out. So I am now making full copy to substitute in time line.
I also think that the sound coming in with the capture is too loud and that's the possible problem, but can't figure how to change the level on a capture. Even though the waveform and meter after capture look ok, it still seems pretty loud. The audio control in the Log And Capture/Clip Settings is greyed out at 1.

Terribly filtered, and distorted sound from iTunes.

My songs will play in iTunes, but they sound heavily filtered, and distorted. I tried playing the same original files from the original folders with multiple other media players, and had no problems. I thought I had done something when I was doing some batch editing for genre, eq, and volume settings, so I re-synced my iPod, to see if it inherited the same sound problems. Everything sounds fine, with the iPod, but for some reason, the iTunes software is distorting the sound. I've been through all of the menus, but have not come accross anything that I feel would possibly solve the problem. I even went back, and reset the volume, genre, and eq settings I adjusted for the tracks, still no help.
What's worse...the next day, I loaded it up, and everything was working again. I had some other stuff to do in my studio, and decided to come back later. When I returned...everything sounded all whacked again!!

Qosmio x770/00x - button 1 does not work pressing 6 and other button

This is going to sound so weird, but bear with me...
I just got a Qosmio x770/00x a couple of weeks ago, mostly for gaming purposes.
I play in left-handed configuration, using the Num pad as directional keys, with some of the other non-directional numbers mapped to things like 'jump' and 'melee', etc.
I have the '1/End' key mapped usually to the 'Crouch' motion in games, and noticed that if I press the '6/Right' key, in combination with any other number key, the '1/End' key won't register!
This means if I'm moving Forwards in a game, and Strafe to the right, I can't simultaneously crouch.
I've done a bit of playing around, and it seems that this bug isn't limited to my unit, or to any particular program. If you try a similar thing in any other program (eg Notepad), and hold the '6' key down along with any other number key, the '1' key won't register.
However it seems that it *has* to be the '6' key in the combination (eg. if you press '4' and '7' together, and then press '1', the '1' will still register.
Have also tried this on the store demo model at the local computer place, and it seems that it's a problem with this particular model.
The store computer runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
I'm running Win7 Pro. BIOS and Windows are fully updated.
Have also tried it on my older P-series Satellite, and that doesn't have the same problem.
Any ideas?

Ive got 2 notebooks from two different manufactures and the button 1 does not register if 6 + other button is pressed.
Dont think its a really a keyboard bug because this happen with my two notebooks which are not really similar to each other

Sound clicking and distortion with X

Anyone else having sound clicking and distortion with their X-Fi Card? Its rare in most games, but I have a couple games where its very common Eve-Online for example. I have a X-Fi Fatalty FPS.

Using Asio4All will introduce a higher latency than using Creative X-Fi ASIO / Bit-Matched -mode, so the later is recommended. If you get distortion make sure that your volume is not turned up to max, it should be around 0db in the mixer, which corresponds to about 80%. If you get cracks/pops then it's due to the bad performance of the ASIO drivers of the X-Fi. The latest beta also says to remove cracks/pops and some distortion problems in audio creation mode, maybe try them.
Again, here is a list of real latencies as measured on my own system, using the latest stable driver (not the beta one):

HT4528 Sound from the built-in speaker badly cracks and breaks

Hi, I need a help on trying to figure out what's wrong with my iPhone 4..
I've had my iPhone for about a year, without any major issue. But recently I noticed that the sound coming from the built-in speaker cracks and breaks to a point it barely makes any proper sound. The weird thing is that this happens only for alarm, text/phone ringtones, and during calls when I try to use the speaker.
At first I suspected it was the hardware issue, but when I play music it works just fine. I tried restoring the phone, but that didn't fix the problem.
I'm thinking about taking it to Apple store or Verizon, but my Apple warranty seems to have expired and I don't know what Verizon can do to help. I should still have the protection plan through Verizon, but it doesn't cover much.

I can hear both a clean sound and distortion through my monitors and headphones. I am playing into a Presonus USB and directly into a MacBook Pro. Any idea how I can get rid of the clean sound?

You probably have a mix knob on your interface that switches between dry and wet signal. The knob should mix the signals.
