Not Toshiba.
At this link there is some discussion about that unit. It appears to be a "no-name" brand, possibly from China.

You can try getting a universal remote and trying a number of settings till you find one that works.
I recommend if you post on other boards, that you indicate that you don't know what brand it is. Otherwise people will assume you mean the brand associated with the board, like I did.

  • Cd/mp3 player was not playing all tunes burned to disk

    Got my Mojo workin'.
    That's a TDK "Mojo" CD-MP3 Digital Jukebox.
Sit back and relax while I tell of my Grand Journey of Exploration. (There is a question below too.)
I had made a some iTunes playlists of MP3s, and decided to burn them on CD-R disks for my portable player. I had them all sorted by Artist and Album. The burn process seemed to go well, but when I loaded the first disk into the Mojo, it seemed to scan the entire disk and count all the tunes. It finished counting after it found all 193 titles. However, when I tried to play them, it would only play the first 26 tunes or so. (Another disk I had burned at the same time (different playlist) gave similar unsatisfactory results, something like 19 out of 186 tunes.) I knew the Mojo was not a current model, and thought maybe there was some weird file incompatibility thing going on.
I popped the disk into my son's CD/MP3 player ("Koss" brand), and it managed to find 30 or 40 of them. A bit better, but not perfect.
I tried it in my DVD player, and it was able to play all 193 tunes. In fact, it loaded and started playing quicker than I had ever seen it do before. It usually thrashes and whirs for an annoyingly long time.
The odd thing was that the Koss was able to play all 76 tunes on another disk I had burned over a year ago, on my wife's Mac, with a version of iTunes for Mac System 9.2. Unfortunately, those files were gone from her Mac so I couldn't see what the iTunes setup was. I was thinking maybe the newer version of iTunes had a bug or something.
Then I inspected the old and new disks in the Finder and noticed that the new disk had a bunch of folders with the Artists' names, and each artist folder had folders within them with Album names, and the tunes were inside those folders.
The old disk (which worked fine in the Mojo player) just had the MP3 files and no folders whatsoever. I knew I was onto something, but I couldn't figure out how to burn a folder-less MP3 disk from iTunes, as opposed to doing it manually via the Finder.
I searched Apple.com > Support > Discussions > iTunes for Mac > Importing & Burning in iTunes for Mac yet again, this time using "folders" for the search term, and up popped several threads where people wanted files organized by folders on disks:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1464192
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1791538
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=781976
... which brought me to the document "iTunes: How to set the play order of songs on an MP3 CD", at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60931
So, I removed the columns for "Artist" and "Album" names from the playlist, and burned it, et voila! it worked just fine in my Mojo, which plays all 193 tunes. (Too bad I didn't fix the ID3 tags beforehand.)
    Now, for points:
I had the playlist sorted by Artist, and here are the first four titles (of 193)
    Title ____________ Artist____________
Relative Ways ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
Mistakes & Regrets ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    Jubilation 20 Minute Loop
    Queen of Pain Alkaline Trio
Muffin57 All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors
    ... etc.
Then when I remove the "Artist" column so that it only shows the Titles, it resorts like this:
    Title ____________
    Blacken My Thumb
    Buckler
    After School Thunder
    Futuristic Genitalia
Once In A Lifetime (Cul De Sac)
    ... etc.
This is not the same as it was, nor is it alphabetical by Title.
If I click on the Title column header of course, it is ordered alphabetically by title, like this:
    Title ____________
    (Do Not Feed The) Oyster
    (Got My) Rock Pants On
    3 Away
    27
    68
    Adventures In Conversation
    After School Thunder
    Algorithm Of Desire
    Alive and Amplified
    ... etc.
Other than dragging all 193 tunes, one at a time, in order manually, how can I keep the original play order by Artist, without creating folders on the burned CD?
There is talk of "Copy to Play Order" in the iTunes Help/Support files...
To use this command, Control-click one of the songs in the playlist,
and choose "Copy to Play Order" from the shortcut menu. Tip: These
steps also apply to a playlist you have reordered directly (by clicking
on one of the column headers like Artist or Album).
... but I don't see that option when I Control-click anything. The bottom menuitem in the popup menu is "Clear". Same results with Right-clicking.
    300 MHz "Blue & White" G3   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iTunes 6.0.5

Hmm. I see that the spaces have been chopped out in part of my first post, and it appears that I cannot edit it.
For clarity's sake, these are the Artists' names, in the partial listing for Ordered by Artist example in my previous post:
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    20 Minute Loop
    Alkaline Trio
All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors

  • Can I transfer my itunes to a MP3 player?  newbie, help please

Hi, I need your help. I have a HP Media Center PC with all bells and whistles. I just learned about itunes. I downloaded a free song. I have also gotten 5 songs for free from a website called Connect (run by Sony).
what I was expecting to do was to go to Radio shack and purchase an MP3 player for $59.99. It's about all I can afford.
then I found out that the songs I downloaded from Connect cannot be transferred to an mp3 player unless it is a Sony MP3 player. The mp3 player in Radio Shack was not a Sony. but I did ask the salesman if I could do itunes with this and he said "sure". but I'm not sure now. I have read about all kinds of formats with downloading these songs. such as OPENMG format and something called ATRAC. See where I'm getting confused?
What I need to know is this: If I purchase songs from itunes and it goes on my hard drive, can I then purchase the mp3 player and transfer the songs so I can go for a walk and play my mp3 player. I can't afford an ipod.
Do I have to buy a special mp3 player to be able to use itunes. I can't find any information on this on the site.
I am a disabled person and could use some help.
thanks to anybody who can help me. Just need to know exactly what I should be buying to play songs on and do I have to download the songs in a special way or does itunes just do it for me. Also, I don't have an apple computer. but I have an APPLE user ID. Very confusing.

Okay, let me see if I have this right.
I have a HP Pavillion Media Center. this should allow me to burn cds, right? I have never done this in my life but believe me I learn fast. I have two drives that I'm looking at right now on my tower.
The top drive says LightScribe DVD+-/CD Writer
The other drive says CD rom.
I presume, to burn a cd (or whatever it's called), I use the top Lightscribe thing, right?
so I guess I have to get a blank cd rewritable thing, place it in the top drive and copy the sonic stage (sony) songs onto that right? then I can get the ipod and transfer from the newly burned cd into the ipod, right?
I have absolutely no idea how to accomplish this but I'm willing to at least do the first step and burn the cd.
Now, here's my question. Many years ago, when I had my other HP pavillion,it came with a re-writable drive. I tried to burn something to it and I did not know what I was doing. I do remember that the cd was some kind of RW thing.
I probably have one of those in my house. They are over 5 years old. Is this what I have to use to put the songs on it.
do I have to go to the computer store and buy a new blank cd-rw (if that is indeed what I will be using).
I want to know exactly what kind of blank cd thing I have to put in the drive. And do I use the one marked Lightscribe.
See, once I know what to do, I'll figure out how to do it.
I'm going to search my room to find one of the old blank ones but I won't use it until you say, "yes, use it.".
I know I used to have a case of them. Never used them but they are still around.
Are they still compatible with my windows xp, HP Pavillion media center.
And I should tell you what I tried to do last night. I was researching all about converting files and I saw something that said "drag the files into your itunes folder and you should have the songs in their". so stupid me, I go to my start menu, open up the explore thing, I find the "sonic stage" thing, I see the itunes thing, I dragged and sonic stage into the itunes thing and sure enough, right in front of me a little message popped up showing me it was "copying files to itunes". So I said "holy sh*t, I actually did it", "i'm going to see my songs in my itunes folder". Well, that didn't happen. I opened up my itunes library and only my original itunes song was there. No songs from the sonic stage library was put in.
I have no idea what was copied into what. So what exactly did I do?
thanks for any help about the cd burning thing.
I mean, I have this HP Pavillion Media Center and I want to be able to figure out how to use it before I turn 80.
    Thanks much.

If you google for 'ripping dvd audio to wav or mp3' or something similar, you will find a host of websites to help you in this.
I am not an expert at all in dvd's and similar 5. sound tracks, but have had success converting quite a few of my concert dvd's to mp3. There are freeware tools that need multistep conversions, ie rip vob files from dvd, extract pcm wav files from vob's, convert wav to mp3. Huge sense of accomplishment when you finish all that, but after doing that a few times I decided to just buck up and buy a more complete package:
http://www.aokx.com/dvdaudioextractor.htm, cost me $30US and IMO is well worth it.
However, do note that there is encryption on many dvd's that will not let you get to the underlying audio layers. Doing what you are doing, effecti'vely an analogue rip similar to converting old LP's and tape, may be the only alternati've.
    Good luck with this!

  • How do I put mp3 files on a generic mp3 player

I have a generic mp3 player that I would like to let my 7 year-old daugther use.  I have transfered music to it before from a mac but converted the audio files to mp3 first.  Now on my new macbook pro I can only find a way to burn mp3 files on to a cd.  Can anyone help me?

    meliafrompoland wrote:

The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "the flie.mp3" can't be read or written.
One or more of the files your attempting to convert is either DRMed or corrupted in some fashion.
It can occur with hard drives, the sector can fail and the data on it can't be read anymore.
I have one song out of over 8,000 that did that to me, took a rare chance that I played that song to find out about it, I restored it from a DVD backup I made long ago when I first downloaded the song.
If I used TimeMachine it wouldn't have keep that ancient backup, why I suggest people employ a multiple backup  of clones, TM and burned DVD's or other permanent storage methods.

  • Help! My MP3 player Died and I'm trying to recover my song

Hi Guys, I don't know if you'll be able to help me but I thought it was worth a shot.
I had a pretty ancient MP3 player (The creative Nomad Jukebox Zen USB 2.0). It basically stopped working (it wouldn't switch on or charge). However it had all my songs on it which i'm trying to gett off the hard drive and put onto my computer.
I've taken out the hard drive and I've put it in a little hard drive case that i bought off Ebay which i connected to my PC via USB. It seems to be recognising it as a USB mass storage device but when i go into My computer there is no additional drive. Below are the details of what I am using

    Any help is much appreciated

your best option would be to find a replacement player, and swap the hardri'ves.
One of the things i've seen countless times on here and other forums are people desparatly trying to find a way to rescue their music as they only have it stored on thier mp3 player/portable device.
With hard dri'ves being relativly cheap, as well as other storage methods it seem odd that people rely on portable devices as their only storage for their digital files.
It doesnt matter how well you may 'look after' yourt mp3 player, at the end of the day ts a portable devices, and will be subjected to some knocks and bumps along the way as well as a multitude of other risks ( ie accidentaly dropping it down the toilet, spilling beer in/on it and so on)
All of my Music is backed up on my P.Cs main hard dri've, and everything on my P.Cs hard dri've ( including the music) is all backed up onto an external USB hard dri've that is stored in another location to my P., also i have another back up on DVD RW of my music files.
Hard disks are cheap, as are adaptors/caddys to plug them into a USB socket, DVD RW media is cheap, your data files are irreplacebale, make sure that you have a back up[ of your stuff.

  • Burning to mp3 player

    Hi
I have a Technika mp3 player how do I transfir my songs from my itunes library to this devise
    Thanks

  • Non-iTunes mp3 player...

Yeah. Recently my iPod was stolen, and I had no intentions of paying the price for a brand new one (100$+ out of my current limit...)
So I bought a different brand of mp3 player.
    Now here's the problem.
I can't put my iTunes songs on it because they're protected.
Is there any possibility of removing the DRM? Would, say, putting my library on a blank CD, and uploading it again, possibly convert it to unprotected?
Please help, I REALLY don't want to pay $.30 for each song for iTunes plus...

Can't discuss removing DRM in these forums.

  • Loading tunes to car mp3 player

Hi! I'm new to this forum and iTunes as well. I also have Dell Musicmatch Jukebox that I use to connect and load tunes to my car Sony DVD/mp3 player that connects with a cable/terminal like my Canon 20d camera uses. I get no response when trying to load tunes from iTunes. Do I need a special patch, plug-in or driver? I want to keep Musicmatch as well if possible. Can you advise me in simple terms? Thanks

The tunes are from cd's and are already in a playlist. I have no problems using my ipod shuffle, but I need to use my Corvette's Sony mp3 player if I can find a way to connect. Ipod connects via usb, of course, as you know, and this Sony player "faceplate" does too but must use a different "driver". Are Apple products the only mp3 players that are allowed to connect and download?

  • MP3 player USB to S/PDIF conver

I have acquired quite a few Creative MP3 players and sound cards over the years. One thing I really like about Creative MP3 players is the MP3 tracks are not wrapped. Why is this good? One reason I can give is that we are starting to see a lot of "USB Direct"? audio products. These allow simple plug/play of your plain USB mass storage devices or MP3 player flash dri'ves *provided* the tracks are MP3 tracks.A simple example .. this Philips AZ836 micro-boombox:?http://www.consumer.phili<br />
<br...questid=288824?The USB port works perfectly with every Creative MP3 player I've tried (MuVu TX, V00, N200 etc..).Some more recent DVD players also provide this "USB Direct" port. However, what I'd also like to do is connect my MP3 player to an amplifier that has a S/PDIF inputs (either digital coaxial or optical). Obviously I can connect the headphone output of the MP3 player to any line-in on the amplifier but I want to do it digitally from the MP3 player so .. Question:? Are there any portable? "digital converter" devices designed to convert USB data from MP3 flash players to S/PDIF digital or optical streams??

Thinking about this a bit more ... this is a bit more complicated. A "USB Direct" device is a USB host. So for this to really make sense, the "converter" would need to read the USB dri've, and allow the user to select a recognizable audio track (MP3 or WMA) and then play it out to the S/PDIF output of the converter ... So maybe what I really should have asked is:?Question2:? Are there any *portable* MP3 players (or for that matter portable CD-Audio/MP3 CD players) that provide an SPDIF output capability??

  • How do I make bootable USB mp3 player/flash disk?

    hi
i have a big problem. less than a month ago i have backed up my computer using the latest version of Norton ghost v10.0. i then burned the data on to a DVD and i kept it safe. today i encountered a problem i could not cess the internet on my laptop, nor uninstall/install a program, nor get access to help and support. therefore i got the backup DVD inserted it into the DVD drive i opened Norton ghost clicked recovery and then clicked recover my computer. i told it where to look for the backup and then started restore but i then ran into an error message which says the below:
cannot complete the restore of recovery point d:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i
-Error EC8F178F: Cannot complete the restore of recovery point: D:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i.

---Error EBAB03E9: Internal Application Error: Memory Access Violation c0000005: Application tried to read memory at 034bac3c.
i have another way of restoring the data this is by making a mp3 player or flash disk boot the computer but on the flash disk there will be the operating system. is there any way to make the flash disk bootable.
i would like to know this because if it boots up from the flash disk or mp3 i can then delete the contents on the HDD and restore the data.
and also when trying to restore it says a file or program is using the file its trying to restore.
    can somebody help,
    regards

    Hello Samee
The best way to boot the unit in DOS mode is to use external floppy drive. This drive is not expensive and if your data are so important you can invest a few euros to buy it. Using start disk you will be able to boot into DOS mode and do what you want to do.
I also recommend you to contact Norton and see if they have some simply solution how to install created image.
With mp3 player you will not be able to boot up.
