Qr code idea

Hi , i have an idea for a Qr Code, i was wondering can Qr codes be used to download images and videos? 2nd can a Qr code be used to down load a image of a business card? if so how would that be created? 3rd. can it be used to down load a portfolio gallery ? and last can you put bussienss card in a qr code and then have more qr codes on the downloadable bussiness card? also can you do something like put a list inside of a qr code? like example
1. portrait gallery
2 video gallery
3 facebook link
and each have there own small qr code in them?

okay i can see in my head how it would work. so i will upload my image of my business card that i make in Illustrator cc upload it to adobe Bussiness Catalyst partner plan. under the digial download section. from there get the link as you said and copy and past it into the url line in the QR Code creator right?
yes i forgot to menioned i am adobe bussiness partner. i have a free web site.
file manager, so i would make a bussiness card folder and upload the file there.

Yes, Markus77 is on the right track.
But, I would simply guess the CD-ROM drive is somehow out-of-order or broken, and that's why the Laptop has been available (hopefully not for sale for too many bucks ...)
One simple repair trial could be to open the Laptop and take the CD drive out of its bay and cable connector, clean them and place back carefully, and if lucky enough, it may wake-up for the BIOS, or maybe not ...

Make IDE independent code

Can anyone tell me how I should use JBuilder to design my forms and at the same time make the whole code IDE independent (because i would use other editors or even a notepad to do the programming)

Even JBuilder generates a class that will instantiate the components, then you cna change this class.
But keep in mind that if you try to modify it in JBuilder after you have done somehing on this code, you can get in a sitation where JBuilder's form builder will fail to open it. But you will always be able to edit it as an ordinary class.
In our company we prefer to code GUI without using form builders.

The system clock is controlled from the BIOS, and as such, I don't think even windoze can stop it, though it can be continually reset. I don't believe that Java provides a sufficiently low level of control to set the system clock, although you could use a native method to accomplish the task.
Why would you want to do such a thing?

First I would check if your friend's IDES CDs have the same part numer as yours Check the file CDLABEL.ASC in the root of the CD. If you open this file with notepad, the CD part number will at the end of the first line and is something like "Number 5xxxxxxx"
If you and your friend both used the same export CDs to install the IDES than the data should be identical. I would next check that you are both logging into the same client.

Sharing FTP ideas

Hello All,
Working on project using RT targets I’ve been trying to
develop a re-usable code to copy a folder (and all its files and subfolders).
After many problems I eventually reached my goal, I now have
a function that can copy from a whole folder from WINDOWS computer to an
RT-target. It is quite slow but it works. (requires internet toolkit !!)
As I am far from being an expert, there is certainly room
for improvement in my code.
I am pretty sure that many of you have already developed
similar code, if YOU have, could you please post you code ; I’d be very
interested to learn tips and tricks people use.

depending on whether you have an active or passive ftp server then port 21 is not enough.

However ftp is not very secure. The best way to access your mac is via remote login (SSH)
With ssh you only open tcp port 22 from your router to your mac.
Then turn on remote login in the sharing preferences.
Then from your remote mac using an ftp client that supports sftp. It will go straight through port 22.
You can run screen sharing through the ssh port.
To login to your server open the terminal and issue the following command.
ssh -L 5901:127.0.0.1:5900 serveraddress
replace serveraddress with the public IP address of your server.
then open the /System/Library/CoreService/ScreenSharing.app
and use localhost:5901 as the host address.
Using this method you can close all the other ports on your router and just use SSH. Much more secure.

can anyone pls help me on how i can upload file from a client machine to another machine (or server). using jsp.Then later on, i can also retrieve the names of these files to place it as values for option tag in an html form.I have a seperate screen for uploading the file and the screen for displaying all the files that were uploaded on the server...

How can I run a vi developed with LabView 7 Express on another machine ? Do runtime versions exist ?

Apparently, you want to run it on a machine that does not have LabVIEW installed.
To make a standalone executable of your LabVIEW program, you need to have the Application builder (included in LabVIEW professional and higher, avaliable as an add-on for base and full).
To run the application, the target system need to have the LabVIEW 7.0 runtime installed (available as a free download).
There is also the LabVIEW Player. In this case you need to digitally sign your VIs and there are a few limitations. It is meant for for sharing code ideas and is not a viable substitute for the appl
ication builder.
Of course you could also get a second copy of LabVIEW.
Some other options that would work in a very narrow set of situations: Read your LabVIEW license agreement. Under certain conditions you are allowed to install a second copy of LabVIEW on your home computer. If this is for personal educational use only and you qualify, you could also buy the LabVIEW student edition.

Reflection: attributes from the base class

Is there a way to get the attributes from the base class of a derived class via reflection? I only found methods to get the attributes from the derived class.
Example:

class B extends A
int b = 5;
Object unknown = new B();
Code/Idea to get all attributes from baseclass A using unknown (here: a=4)?

Thank you all for your hints. The mistake I make, was to use the baseclass, and not the derived class for getting the attributes. By using an extra parameter of type class I got all attributes in their context.

How to parse xml in jsp

I'm a newbie in java, i just wanna know how to parse an xml file in JSP wherein i could remove nodes / modify certain nodes on the xml.
Any suggestions / codes/ ideas would be much appreciated

On my jsp page the default screen would be the list of traders. The user of the said application has the option to make some changes on the list either, add more trader/s on the list , remove specified trader/s on the list or edit certain trader/s. Furthermore, the user can also cancel the changes he made by clicking the cancel button or commit the modification he made by clicking the save button. When the application altered something, the changes must be reflected on the front end right away, but not on the database yet. In doing so, I intend to have two xml files , (1) the original xml file that is send to a CmsServlet (the servlet code that does the database commit) and (2) the temporary xml file that the page loads, which is initially just a copy of the original xml file. So whenever changes made at the frontend the temporary file is also altered, and when the save button is clicked, the temporary file is copied to original xml file to send the changes on the CmsServlet. But when the application user withdraws the changes he made at the frontend by clicking the cancel button , the original xml file is then copied to temporary xml file to reload the page.
The access/modification on the temporary xml file is done in default.jsp.

Name 2 in BP filled in

Name2 (BUT00-NAME_ORG2) of the company code partner in BP gets filled with the same name as NAME1 in a way and a frequency I have not found out. It is not very often - I cannot relate it to a job for example. We erase the field as fast as it arises. In the change log only the erases are shown.
Does anyone know what triggers this, and why?

EDL export issue

I'm the assistant editor on a feature thats being cut on FCP HD Studio and I've hit a problem with the EDL.
The film was transferred from 35mm to BETA and then to DVCAM and I logged everything with 24fps capture settings and have been editing on a 24 fps sequence.
The problem is this-
The opening shot on my sequence starts at 01:00:30:08 along the time line and the media details are- start: 10:11:55:14 and end: 10:11:59:11 and ending at 01:00:34:06 on the timeline.
so according to my sequence on FCP for the first clip in the first reel

10:11:59:11
out point
01:00:34:06
but in my EDL the first clip starts at the same point, at 01:00:30:08, but the media details are different- start: 10:37:25:03 and end: 10:37:29:01, ending on the timeline at 01:00:34:06, as on my sequence.
so according to my EDL for the first clip of the first reel-

media start
10:37:25:03
media end
10:37:29:01
out point
01:00:34:06
So the media information in the EDL is completely different from what FCP is telling me. Also, none of the camera rolls run to any longer than 23 minutes so it is impossible that there would be a media start point at 10:37:25:03 or end point at 10:37:29:01.
The EDL is CMX3600 and I've run the clips through Cinema Tools to conform them to 24fps, all clips are on one track and the only effects in the sequence are a two transitional dissolves.
This continues to be a problem throughout the EDLs for all the reels.
Does this have anything to do with the transfer from BETA to DVCAM? is this a 24fps/25fps problem? Any possible solutions?

We are in the same boat, I'm cutting a UK 24 fps feature and can see all the cmx edls are wrong.
I also assume that yours is a Pal 24 project, ie shot 24 on film, transfered on tk at 25, loaded at 25 in cinema tools from flex file, conformed to 24, then edited in a sequence set at pal 24@25.
I do this and can make great key code lists, no errors at all. BUT cmx is all wrong.
I have tested the 24 code idea and this seems to be the problem.
Sorry for all the maths but....in your example with an in point 10:11:55:24. In frames that is 917889 frames (10 hrs * 60 * 60 *25 ADD 11mins * 60 * 25 ADD 55sec * 25 ADD 14 frame total 917889) Now if we convert the edl in point (10:37:25:03) to frames but at 24 fps I make that 917883 frames. Only 6 out, which is a worry so check your burn in codes. But in my own examples every one works out as a perfect 24/25 translation. Eg.1 burn in 01:07:00:00 @25fps = 100500 frames EDL code @24fps 01:09:47:12 = 100500 frames. Eg.2 burn in 19:30:00:00 @25fps = 1755000 frames EDL code @24fps 20:18:45:00 = 1755000 frame. Hope all my maths are good/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png .
A further check in your EDL will be is TC 20hours on tape 19 or 20. If you transfered like most people in the UK then you will have used tc20 hrs for tape 20 with tape 21 going back to TC 01 hrs.
The EDL record in points are always good as the sequence time is 24 fps in your display and in the edl.
The problem is that on this side of the pond we tend to use timecode to neg cut and in the US that is mostly unthinkable, I'm not sure Apple realise that.
We have another problem, how do we make a tape for the neg cutter with a 1 frame film = 1frame video like we would on an AVID. Sorry, but I don't know. The only advice I get is USE KEY CODE and a QTime, but as you are finding out, the neg cutters don't like that. We could get work print and conform that, then neg cut but we don't have the budget for that on my film.
Sorry to seem a bit negative but I have read one heck of a lot about this, talked with Apple help etc but still seem to have no answer. Worryingly, the Cinematools 3 PDF manual, a must read, page32 seems to say that you can't work at PAL 24 and make a video when finished/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png I know of a few UK films who use FC but work in 25fps and see the movie at the correct speed once everything is finished, well thats not for me.
Please please please let me know if you or anyone else has a work around for this as I find editing on FC great. And I know all the film stuff works in NTSC.

Detecting relationships between classes

Friends,
I wish to create a program that is given a project as input and it outputs the relationships between different classes.
For example if there are 3 classes in the project, the program (or software) should output:
Class1 "is a" Class2
Class2 "has a" Class3
or something like that.
I need some ideas on this. So please give me some input, about how to proceed any further.

I can give you a third option. Read the classfiles,
and retreive the information from them. I once wrote
an application that did just that, and then showed a
graph of the dependencies. The application can also
package all dependencies into a jar-file.Nice. :) Might try that one day, too. But I hate JTrees. :p But I'd say our company could definitely use a tool that finds unused code - classes and methods. I once came up with the "lean code" idea. Nobody really cared so far, except one co-worker who strongly agrees, and a tool like that would a good way to start.
(Why does suddenly the thought of you being a GUI guy cross my mind!?)

Session Tracking in Flex

I need a simple session tracking application. this
application should include the following
1) Each user should have a seperate session area where each
user can store some info into it and retrive it.
2) Know how many users have logged into the application.
I come from j2ee background where these things are possible,
so requiring the same for my application which involves multi user
environment.
If not the application some part of code/ ideas will be higly
appreciated.

Hi Avinash,
Put a status variable in the ModelLocator class(If you are using any Model class where your data can be accessed globally through out the application).
Once the user is authenticated and logged in successfuly update the status of the variable and you can authorize based on this status variable whether
the user is authorized to see the pages or not...
