QR reader on my Droid.

Am having trouble loading the QR reader on my Droid.  Is there a simple procedure to accomplish this? Looking forward to a response.
Thanks in advance.

Ok I will bite. There is no native QR reader on your phone. The app has to be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
There are many versions of this app. I use the one called i-nigma its available for iphones and androids.
After you click on Install it does just that it installs to your phone. to use it you click the icon. Your phones camera comes on and you use that to scan a bar code, qr code etc.
Yep its that easy.
Good Luck

  • All incoming emails being marked as 'read' on my Droid x

All incoming emails to my pop3 or imap accounts are being automatically marked as 'Read'.
    Any fix for this issue?
If I have outlook open, which is running exchange client  Outlook 2007, and my Droid is running imap or pop3, messages being delivered are being displayed as READ.
I have tried closing outlook, and then downloading emails to my droid without reading any of the 80 unread emails - then turning off my Droid....Followed by opening Outlook, but the messages show up in outlook as being READ.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you installed any apps that auto display the emails when they come in? If so the auto read feature may be triggering this, I had a app at one time that showed my emails in the preview window and it made the emails be listed as read... I would check your apps and make sure you are not using something like this unknowingly.

  • Why does Reader for Android want access to my GMail?

I was about to update Adobe Reader  on my Droid X just now and decided to review what changes were being  made to the application's permissions. Apparently now I would have to  "Allow this application to access: Your messages (read Gmail)"
Why would Adobe Reader need access to my Gmail messages?

This unexplained change in required privileges is totally unacceptable.
I am only one of many who are posting in Market feedback that we will not update to this latest version until a reasonable explanation is given.
As with Apple's "LocationGate", a failure to communicate early, clearly and accurately will cause (is causing?) a major negative reaction among users.
Adobe needs to either give a credible reason for this change or roll out an update that doesn't require access to our Gmail.
A further reason to be concerned about this privilege request: they want to access Gmail, but make no request to access our other email accounts via "messaging".  Why just Gmail?
Update: their revised release note mentions access to standard email with this update, but still does not request permission to do so. This makes the Gmail privilege all that more suspicious. As for their claim this is needed to open PDF attachments, the prior version did this without Gmail access permission
In any case, I'm joining the update boycott until this is explained or removed.

  • Medical device licensing for Acrobat Reader

Adobe states, in EULA for Acrobat reader version 9, the following:
    Quoted
You will not use any Adobe Runtime on any non-PC device or with any embedded or device version of any operating system. [...Examples...] You may not use it on ... kiosk, medical devices...
    This is the question:
I need to use Acrobat Reader on a "medical" device that is controlled by a Panel PC with OS Windows XP Professional. This is just a simple controller and has no contact with patients and has no life substainig applications. I don't need to distribute Acorbat Reader with interface software, but, if needed, it must be called from command line (the program is downloaded and installed by final user).
I don't understand if I need special licensing, since it is installed on a common operating system, not developed for particular applications. Such examples are applicable only when OS is embedded or customized for control devices or this regulation is mandatory also for this kind of application?
In case I need special licensing, what should I do? Are there any fees?
    Thanks.

But, we have a serious security system that we are trying to get

  • Acrobat Reader for Android O/S?

I searched the group and only found two references to this dating back to November. Essentially, I would like to know of Adobe is working on an Acrobat Reader for the Android Operating System? More specifically for the T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream).
This is the first of a series of phones based on the Android O/S and the lack of an Acrobat reader along with no Flash support does cripple the device.

  • How can I make an existing pdf form mobile friendly

I have a mobile notary business and need to make Invoices for on the go.
    What Ive done:
Ive created an image in Photoshop with basic text, table structure and company logo and save it as a pdf (saved file is 1.24mb)
I imported the saved pdf into Acrobat Pro X, added fields, and saved (saved file is 4.29mb)
The invoice is exactly how I want it, and runs great on the computer, but when I try to view it on my Droid Bionic or Galaxy Tab 10.1 using any pdf reader (including acrobat reader) it can't seem to open completely. It nearly freezes the devices.
    What Id like to do:
Take the file Ive already made, and make it mobile device friendly so I can create and email invoices on the spot.
What are my best options to do this?

Well, I was running into problems saving a filled form on my galaxy tab and droid bionic, so thats why I was asking about the option... But I figured out the reader-enabled function and tested it (I had hoped to edit my post before you read it lol) but, it only gives me the option to "share" not to save. I tested it and sent emailed it to my computer, opened it and it was a filled form. One problem I foreseee though, is that the file (the filled invoice sent from my tab) is still editable. In other word, I could fill a form, email it to someone, and they could refill it to whatever they want. I need to be able to fill out a form on my tab/phone, save and email it to someone, and make it so they can't change anything... any suggestions?
Apparently "reader" for the droid system doesn't have a "Save/Save As/export" option at all...
But apparently if I open the Invoice PDF in Reader, fill it, then open the file in an office type app (I use quick office pro) Itll open the pdf WITH the fields fille, and then I can save as a *.docx file. But, it won't let me just opne/edit field in quick office. I've getting frustrated.
Found a solution XD an app that allows one to open a pdf, fill the fields, "flatten" (so its no longer editible), and save. qPDF Problem solved
It looks bad in InDesign, before exporting to PDF

  • Use upgrade on Galaxy S3 even though it's pre-order

So my upgrade is July 15th and had been waiting on the S3 to use it on. The new plan effective June 28th apparently makes this not possible? I can get an upgrade early before the 28th since I am in the 30 day window and keep my unlimited data , but is it possible to pre-order the the Galaxy S3 on a early upgrade before the 28th and keep my unlimited? Thanks in advance for any help, I had read in a droid forum that this was possible?

No, if you try to upgrade through the website before it says your line is eligible, it will only offer full price upgrades.  I called to do it over the phone on 6-6, the first day of the SGSIII preorders.  My upgrade eligibility date as shown in the system and website was 6-8.  Two days.  They couldn't do anything with it.  They even transferred me to some sort of manager who explained that their system was set up to not allow even a manager override to force an early (earlier than shown) upgrade on this particular device.  He offered all sorts of things including a Razr Maxx for $69 and no problem doing it two days early....but to pre-order the SGSIII I had to call back two days later to take care of it.
Some people are being led to believe they can simply ask nicely, have a CSR put a note in their account that they really wanted to upgrade before June 28th but couldn't and think when they call back on say July 2nd that this note will somehow allow them to carry over the unlimited data for them.  I have seen the internal Verizon training document that has all sorts of language on how to convince you that giving up unlimited data and moving to a share plan is a good deal.......
YMMV but they have been very clear in that they aren't allowing UNL data with a subsidized upgrade initiated on or after June 28th

  • Links in Static form wont open

I have a form I created in Microsoft Excel and converted to PDF in Lifecycle Designer ES ver 8.2.  Its a static form.  In the form are numbers with hyperlinks.  Click the number and opens the link.  The form works on the PC but not on any smartphone I have tried (Iphone, Blackberry, Droids).  I have opening it in Adobe Reader on my Droid Incredible and the form opens but the links are not there.  The numbers are not clickable.  Is this a fault of my conversion or the Reader?

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting your query.
Currently we are not supporting the clicking of links inside pdf in our mobile version of pdf reader on android.

  • Problems with Driod 2

The Droid 2 started out to be a nice phone. The problem I'm know having is that it lags and needs to be restarted at least once a day to get my email notification. And my voice dial over Bluetooth takes forever to start (and that's when I use a Motorola Bluetooth). The answer from Motorola is pull the battery for 1 minute. That works sometimes for a half day.  Why do I need to do this? And why isn't anyone saying anything about the lack of info for Gingerbread on the Droid 2? And I don't mean the Droid 2 Global.  Will someone just come out and say its a defective phone and stop us from waiting! Less then 1 year after I got this phone its outdated. Other Motorola's have received the update.  And why would anyone want to get another Motorola phone (Droid 3)?? I wanted a keyboard, but not after the nonsupport from them.  I guess us Droid customers aren't as important as the "Iphone" customers.

oh trust me, I have the DROID 2 (not the Global) and it's T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E. I hate it and it's the worst phone I've ever had. I had the DROID Incredible and it was taken off of Verizon because it was so bad, so I got the DROID 2, but it's no better than the DROID Incredible I used to have. I don't know why, but I'm trusting the DROID 3 and I'm trying to get into getting the DROID 3 in a Certified Pre-Owned phone. I'd be much happier with that phone. Don't worry, if you're unhappy, I am on your side. I asked someone about the DROID 3, and it's a GREAT updated version of the DROID 2. Definitely go with the DROID 3 if possible. Every comment I've read about the DROID 2 was TERRIBLE, and every comment (except a few) about the DROID 3 were "AMAZING phone!!," "DROID most definitely does!!," and "GREAT phone!! I'd recommend!!"

  • My HTC Droid Eris rant, maybe you can help, maybe someone with some power will read

Alright I've got a new HTC Droid on the way, for the next 2 days I have a phone I can use the internet and check my email on, but the most basic cell phone functions I can no longer use, send/receive both calls and messages.
I'll get into the problems that lead me to do a hard reset on my phone today later, we'll start there.
So I've read about doing a hard reset and how it fixes a lot of problems.  So I prepared today not knowing what would happen really.  Backed up my photos and contacts and had at it.  Turns out I didn't need to back those up.
So everything goes alright, it calls Verizon to activate my phone, says everything went fine.  No calls or text messaging.  But I've got internet and gmail. I get an error message when trying to send texts, and I get a verizon recording saying "We can't authenticate your phone."
Take it in to the Verizon store, they can't figure it out either, so they order me a new phone.
The greeter gal was the most helpful really, she asked me if I did a *228, I didn't know what it was cause the phone called to activate by itself.  So later I tried that wondering if it was something different.  I tried the second option activating roaming.  Didn't work.
So right now as I'm typing this I got the battery out, we'll see if that works.
Alright here's my laundry list of complaints:
It's slow, even for the most basic things like making a call or text messaging.  I understand it's not a very fast processor compared to other phones but for basic things it shouldn't struggle.  Hell even the calculator lags.
The messaging program sucks.  Well since the update I see they finally made it so it can play animated gifs.  But where to begin with this,  well first you can't delete messages.  It locks up.  Second if you don't want to delete a whole thread, you can't go through and select all the ones you want to delete, and mass delete, no you have to hold down everyone you want to delete, till the screen pops up, click delete, wait, and go to the next one.
If that wasn't time consuming enough, wait till you get a picture message with multiple attachments.   No it can't play it like regular phones, this is a droid dammit!  We have to be innovative and make it so you click on the attachments button, and it brings up a screen that lists all the attachments!  Then when you find the one you want, you can't simply just click it to view it, no we give you another pop up that gives you options, to view, or save the attachment!  I mean regular phones you could save the attachments while you're viewing them, but droid gives you options before hand, then after all the lag to load and exit the attachment, you get to start all over to look at the next one! (Handcent fixed a lot of the problems I had with the messaging but it loses multiple attachments so I end up going back to regular messaging to look at them)
Gmail on your phone!  Only thing that sucks about this is google saves every person you have correspondence with through gmail as a friggin contact.  At least I can delete them off my phone, time consuming and annoying, I still haven't figured out how to delete them off actual gmail.
Facebook!  Hey if google contacts wasn't bad enough, in this connected day and age, when you type in a name to call or send a text message to, it searches facebook friends too!  And its really fun when your friends have old numbers listed on their facebook account and you call it and it's some 80 year old guy named herbert who says he'll dress in pig tails and be Jessica if I want.
I use Gmail, I use Facebook, but I do not need these to be a part of my contacts for my calling and texting in any way!
The silent phone issues.  Mine has gotten worse lately.
The one thing I didn't mind, the browser, well attention is in the details, and they made one thing super annoying now.  I liked browsing craigslist on my phone, most browsers for computers, you click the back button, it returns you to the point in the page you were at, oh no, not droid, it takes you to some point in the page it feels like going back to when you click back.  Which is annoying when you're zoomed in trying to go down a list.  Either fix this or make it so you can just open links in new tabs.
I've been searching online for solutions to these problems if you got any please fill me in.  And before I send this, I put the battery back in, booted it up, still not able to make calls or send messages.

Firstly, your device authentication issue has absolutely nothing to do with your device. Even a Knack can get that error. In a nutshell, your device authenitication needs to be updated and a quick call to tech support can fix that. It takes 35 seconds to resolve that issue once you get through.
Second, need some tissues? The Eris is an entry level phone. Don't like the included messaging app? Download Handcent. Or Chomp. You are really being overly whiney and will probably not be happy with another Droid device either. All devices need some set up, optimization, and guess what, basic user knowledge. Sounds like you never even bothered to crack the manual or seek out help.
And yes, I do own an Eris.

I purchased a book from IBOOKS, on my IPAD & I want to sync it to my DROID phone, so I can read it any time. How do I sync them?

There is no convenient way to share I books with non iOS devices.   For the future, download the kindle app or the nook app.  Their libraries can be accessed by any device that has an app.
In a perfect world, apple would make an I book reader available on the google market, but that has not happened.

  • Good read for Wigets on a Droid Turbo 2jan2015

Getting your Widgets back like you are used to Android 4.4.4 on Droid Turbo
Here is a detailed explanation of accessing your Widgets on a Droid Turbo phone. This seems to be lacking in detail on the forums.
OLD WAY: Once you went into apps/settings you saw a tab for Widgets. No longer there for a droid turbo. It is there on my MotoX 1st generation but
    not this droid turbo.
NEW WAY: You must press and hold on a Home Screen that has some room to add a icon. This does not work from the first Home Screen in my experience. If all your
home screens are maximimum filled with icons/widegets yhen this will not work. If this is your case then drag one icon to a new home screen then proceed
    from that new home screen.
Doing this as I instructed, then you will see:
Wallpapers--Widgets--Settings icons at the bottom of the screen. Press Widgets then you will see your selections.
Removing a Widget from a given home screen is the same as removing a shortcut icon. Click and Drag to the Remove at the top.
This answer took (3) phone calls with VZ support (They did not know), and (2) phone calls with Motorola support level 1. And the motorola people did not
know they just happened across it while remote controlling my phone through Rescue app.
Remeber one thing: Every feature that is or is not there on this phone came at the request of VZ. Including all the default settings. Every single one.
If you do not like apps like NFL mobile being installed on your phone, that is solely a VZ decision. If you do not like the on phone GPS being disabled
by default under the guise "Battery Saving", then that was VZ decision. Every minute aspect of this droid turbo phone was decided by VZ, not Motorola.

The closest thing to Smart Actions on the Turbo is Assist, i.e., tap the Moto app, then tap the Settings in the upper right-hand corner, then tap Assist.
