QT 7.2 and Adobe CS3

We are having problems with CS3, and are told that it's because of QT 7.2. How can we downgrade to ver. 7.1.6 ?

Hi Colin!
We've found the solution, it was a new setting in AfterEffect CS3 in the project settings, where the Working Space in Color Settings shall be set to None, and a mark at "Match Legacy After Effects QuickTime Gamma Adjustments".
When this is set, the gamma match the HD materiale from FCP perfect.

  • Installing new OS and Adobe CS3

    Hello,
I have an old Powermac G3 with a Power PC G4 400MHz processor installed and 512 MB memory.
I would like to install Mac OSX10.4(Its currently running 10.3.9) and Adobe CS3.
Will it have enough memory to install these?
If not, how much memory can I install?
The memory is in the form of 4X 128MB memory at the moment.
    Any help appreciated.

What size hard drive do you have & how much free space?
Tiger install DVDs are in short supply. Tiger is no longer available from Apple. For other sources, do a Google search for MA453Z/A (10.4.6), MA190Z/A (10.4.3) and M9639Z/A (10.4) . Also look on eBay. Be sure & buy a retail version (black with silver X) and not a model specific version (gray). Expect to pay (possibly a lot) more than the Apple list price of $129.

  • Spaces and Adobe CS3 (Creative Suite 3)

I've noticed a strange flaw with Spaces and Adobe Creative Suite 3.
I initially set up a space for InDesign CS3. Then, because I needed to test something, I attempted to set up a separate space for InDesign CS2. The Spaces Preference Pane won't allow this!
It appears as though the creator codes (or whatever) are identical for CS2 applications and CS3 applications. If you have both installed on your Mac, the system only sees the latest version-CS3. If you have a CS3 application assigned to a particular space and then try to add the corresponding CS2 program, nothing will change. If you delete the CS3 Spaces assignment and then try adding the CS2 application, it will simply add the CS3 version again.
My question? Has anyone found a way to get CS2 and CS3 programs to live together in the Spaces Preference Pane simultaneously?

    Hi there,
    Thanks for the additional information.
Please utilize any available Adobe uninstallers in the Programs and Features control panel.  Once you have removed all Adobe software you can use the CC Cleaner Tool to help ensure complete removal.  You can find details here- http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
Once you have completely removed all Adobe software and have run the CC Cleaner Tool you can then try reinstalling.  If you need a fresh copy of the installation files the retail installers can be found at Download CS3 products.
Please let me know if this helps,
    Madison

  • Windows 7 and Adobe CS3 Production Premium?

I'm about to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate, and would like to know if Adobe CS3 Production Premium will install on
    Windows 7 64-bit?
Has anyone experience any problems?  Is there anything I should be aware of, or extra steps that must be taken during the installation of CS3?
    Thanks.

It should but why in the world would you stick with 32 bit video apps if you're moving to Win 7 64 bit? You can upgrade for a pretty reasonable amount and take advantage of the new machine. Put a boatload of RAM in there and you'll be a lot happier.
You can save $40 right now on Amazon with free shipping: http://amzn.to/e7sMSp
Finally, I'm assuming that this is about a new machine. If you truly mean you're upgrading Windows, then make sure you do a CLEAN INSTALL. Do not do an inplace upgrade of Windows.

  • Latest info on compatibility issues OSX 10.6 and Adobe CS3

I have had CS3 for some time.  It cost an arm and a leg and does exactly what I need - improvements to later versions do not really impact me or improve the performance of my work with this program, so I want to keep what I have and what I know how to use really well.  However, when Snow Leopard came out there was a lot of probs with compatibility, and Adobe said they would not support CS3 on Snow Leopard.  I have updated 10.5 as far as I can.  Now Leopard is so old I am starting to have probs with internet, I cannot access more recent versions of browsers I need, etc.  So is anyone out there using Snow Leopard with CS3 and can you tell me what the issues are - I mainly use Photoshop and Illustrator.  Do I have to take my mac off line to continue to work with CS3 or dare I update to Snow Leopard?  Can anyone help me?

Have you ever tried it with Snow Leopard? CS2 and CS4 both work fine with it, so it is hard to believe that CS3 would not. Clone your system to an external drive using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner and then upgrade the clone to Snow Leopard. Order the 10.6.3 disk from Apple and then upgrade to 10.6.8 using the combo updater. Once you are on Snow Leopard, you can use the Firefox browser, which is up to date and runs on 10.6 and above.

  • MacbookPro...what is speed when with iLife08 and  Adobe CS3...?

I will be buying a 17"Macbook Pro next month and I know that it will ship with iLife08. But am also going to be purchasing Adobe CS3. So with all these graphics heavy programs, any thing I should be aware of in terms of speed, specifically if I am editing a movie in iMovie? or importing a quicktime movie into a Web page design? I'm also going to be getting iWorks to do presentations. Lots of graphics. Plus I will be doing a lot of work editing photos in RAW in Photoshop.
It's a big investment and want to make sure that it's going to help me with my work rather than cause frustration because editing a movie will take as long as it does now on my G4 Powerbook.
Do I need to customize the Mac when I purchase it so that it has whatever it needs to run faster? I don't want to have to do this after I've purchased it if I don't have to.
Thank you from a non-techie type person--so please, in layman's terms! Would appreciate it.

RAM is very important for the tasks you mentioned, and the price Apple charges at the customization stage on their online store is obscene. Replacing the RAM on the MBP is very easy and I'll paste some links to help you decide whether you'll be up for the DIY install. And yes, you should experience a nice speed bump over a G4, even editing in HD.

  • MacBook and Adobe CS3

I'm considering buying a new MacBook and was curious if anyone has used any of the Adobe CS3 apps on one? If so, how does the MacBook handle them? I'd really appreciate any responses. Thanks!

I believe if you check the licensing your only allowed it on one machine. You may not be able to activate a second copy.

  • Leopard and Adobe CS3 products

I was wondering if any of you had issues once an Adobe CS3 line of products were installed.
For instance, right now my iTunes refuses to force quite, there is no iTunes window, but the "application active" dot is still on in the dock...
After running multiple CS3 simutaneously, I find the apps crashing or having to force quit.
I've recently re-installed Leopard without an extra install options, ie, printer drivers, languages....
Maybe a PRAM re-start? Whadda ya think?

"...Dreamweaver has always...had some memory...issues, and tends to effect my system..."
I use DW CS3 almost constantly and have had absolutely no issues with it under both 10.4 and 10.5. I also used DW MX for years but I was not aware of any memory problems. Having said that, I would not recognize a "memory leak" if it hit me on the back of the head so I don't know how to advise you on that score. I have always been a "more is better" type when it comes to RAM and tend to run at least 50% of what the system will support. My Mac Pro has eight gigs so maybe I would not notice if some "leaked"....

  • Upgraded from xp to windows 8.1. I reinstalled office 2007 and Adobe CS3. Cannot print to pdf.

I recently upgraded from Windows XP PRO  to Windows 8.1 64 bit professionsal. I reinstalled Microsoft Office 2007 Professional and Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium.
Office no longer prints to PDF, and Acrobat does not open Office documents. I did extract the AdobePDF.dll_64 from the data.cab file, changed the name to AdobePDF.dll and used it in the install of Acrobat 8.0.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Thanks for any help.

You may have a better chance to get a helpful reply if you ask in the Acrobat forum.

Should answer any questions on compatibility.
Web designers are safe if you use CS3. Studio 8, your out of luck.
InDesign CS3, Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3 is safe. CS2 your out of luck.
After Effects CS3 must use update.....slated for December.
Acrobat Pro 8, and any of Adobe video and sound production apps the same as After Effects.

    Hello,
Thank you very much for the answers, but for me it is already to late. I tried to install Tiger again, to be able to install Adobe Photoshop CS3 and then upgrade, but my iMac won't boot from the Tiger DVD even though it starts from the Leopard DVD. I have no glue what I am doing wrong. I pressed the "D" key during the boot - as stated in my manual and nothing happens. The machine just start Leopard from hard drive again.
I also tried to insert the Tiger DVD while Leopard is running and then choose the Tiger installer, but it tells me, that it can not install on my machine. I do not understand anything.
As far as I understand from Adobe, there should not be any problem to install Adobe Photoshop CS3. Nevertheless it definitely does not install on my machine (only the "shared components").
    Kind regards,
    Cornelia

  • Canon Pixma MX700 and Adobe CS3

I am having a printing problem...I can print from all programs but Adobe CS3products (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Professional, Illustrator). Anyone else having this problem? Or have a solution? Printing problem only seems to effect Adobe software products, I can print from other software. Running OSX 10.5.1 with Canon Pixma 700 Printer. Have heard that CS3 doesn't get along with 10.5. Any information would be helpful.

rkaufmann87, thanks for the suggesstion.  Went throught the process but no luck.
The printer is connected via USB.  I have checked the connections (and the cabling to see if there is a break of some kind) but they are all good both ends.  The printer works perfectly.  The problem is the scanner (thus I thought it was the drivers) MP Navigator looks for the scanner, cannot find it and give the error message says it cannot communicate with the scanner.

  • RAM... Leopard and Adobe CS3

    hello
ive recently purchased a new 2.4 macbook pro...
maxed it out to 4GB ram with a 7200 rpm drive! running leopard and the adobe creative suite 3 master collection!
    Question 1)
my computer tells me that i have 4GB of ram, but photoshop / after effects tell me that i can only make use of 3GB!
    why..?
is it a software issue? or is it that 1GB is reserved for the operation of the OS? (10.5)
    Question 2)
is there any way of finding out what speed my drive is?
as a friend of mine has a Macbook Pro 2.2 with a 160GB 5400rpm drive
when we look in> 'about this mac' then> 'more info' the details of both our hard drives are exactly the same!
mine should be a 160GB 7200rpm! how can i confirm this? other than looking at the invoice/order details, does te system not list or recognize this information?

    1) This is an issue with Adobe Photoshop not letting anyone with more than 3GB. However, Photoshop can make use of Mac OS X memory caching which in effect allows it to utilise more than 3GB.
Be aware that mac OS X along with any other applications do also use RAM so realistically on a 4GB machine it's probably not a great idea to allocate more than 3GB anyway.
    2) Do what Rajesh suggests.

  • Mini and Adobe CS3 vs G4 tower and CS2

    Graphic artist is using
    tower G4 Dual 1GHz
    2mb L3 cache per processor
1.5 gb RAM with Creative Suite 2
I am suggesting we move on to a MacMini 1.66GHZ with 1 gig Ram using CS3...
Any opinions on relative speeds - I have CS2 on a Mini and it is slower than the G4, but I'd reckon CS3 on Intel would be quicker? All we would install would be Office and CS3.
(more RAM is an option, but just out of the box - what do you think?)

CS3 would indeed be quicker on an Intel mini since it's Intel native, thus runs without the memory and performance hit caused by Rosetta. I'd expect a 1.66 mini with 1Gb RAM and native software to outperform a dual 1GHz processor G4 by a notable margin, suffering only from a slower hard drive. However, since you note the intention to also use MS Office, which is NOT yet Intel native, I'd expect running that to cause the system a significant slowdown because it would require Rosetta to run in the background. Under that circumstance, I'd urge the system to be upgraded to the max of 2Gb RAM, which should allow enough room for CS3 to run well, and still provide sufficient RAM to get reasonable performance from MS Office. Alternatively, you could perhaps download Neo Office instead (it's fully MS Office compatible, free and Intel native) in which case 1Gb would be sufficient (2 would be better).
And just to add to the possible complications, I'd also want to throw in an external, faster, FW drive, which could be set up to boot from and squeeze even more performance out of the system.
Ooops - ON EDIT: Neo Office can be found at http://neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php

  • Need advice on Upgrading to OSX 10.5 and Adobe CS3

    Hi everyone,
My wife is a graphic designer she runs her G5 on Tiger. She's been using CS2 for years, she now wants to move to CS3.
I was wondering if I could have some feedback from you guys using Tiger with CS3.
In your opinion, is the upgrade to Leopard + CS3 worth it?
    Thanks for your inputs
    D

    Hi, I have CS3 Design Premium, works in both 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 on my G4s & my G5 Quad.
As far as Tiger vs, Leopard, depends on several things, I prefer Tiger actually, but if you have need of Internet & Security, iPhones, iPad, new Apple KBs or pointing devices, the 10.5 is needed.
If it's strictly for Design, I'd stick with Tiger.

  • QuickTime 7.5 for Leo and Adobe CS3 problem

PhotoShop doesn't startup after QT 7.5 update it tells "Could not initialize Photoship because disk is not available". AI doesn't startup at all. Dreamweaver works fine, Fireworks works fine, Flash works fine.
Also, there is a problem with audio application for Mac, MegaSeg. After QT 7.5 update it crashes when you quit application.
    Be aware.

Illustrator (CS3) works fine, so does InDesign but Photoshop crashes telling "Could not complete your request because of a program error." It worked ok before updating QT 7.5.
