QT 7.6.4 wont download/Can't view itunes movies

I have a Macbook pro. All was fine til about 4-5 months ago. May have been about time I downloaded software for my iphone but thinking not. Currently running Quicktime 7.5.5 . All efforts at ugrading to 7.6.4 have failed. I get messages saying "sorry downloading error has occurred etc". Have tried downloading lesser versions of Quicktime to no avail. Upgraded to Quicktime pro to no avail. About to throw my Mac in the ocean.. Very frustrated. Sounds like there may have been some glitch (I literally spent hours today trying to prob solve) with Macbook pro/other laptops and quicktime software yet thought from descriptions glitches were fixed. I had been using Mozy but no longer am and dont think that's an issue (upgraded to latest when someone here suggested). Older downloaded movies play just fine, but have about 4 recent purchases where I just get a grey screen. Ironically when I synced my iphone one movie that never worked within itunes does play on iphone. But others dont.. Any suggestions soooo appreciated!! Thanks

Are you downloading it from here?

How do I cancel a download for a rented iTunes movie because there isn't enough storage space?

Purchases cannot be cancelled, but if you cannot clear enough space to allow the download, go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. Perhaps there will be something they can do for you.

As long as they're from the iTunes Store and have completed downloading to your iPad, yes. Once completely downloaded, a network connection should no longer be needed.

  • I can't play iTunes Movies in 5.1 surround on my surround sound system

I like to download iTunes movies to my MacMini from iTunes store. Recently I gave up doing so because I can't play iTunes movies in 5.1 surround on my surround system. My MacMini is connected to my Marantz 6007 SR via HDMI cable. However I can get DTS or 5.1 surround sound from my system with other players such as VLC player.
How can I fix this problem as I really want to buy or rent movies from iTunes store?

    Hi komansava,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your Mac Mini is able to output 5.1 audio to your surround sound receiver, but iTunes purchases do not play in surround sound.
When playing iTunes purchases, first see if iTunes is set to output the movie you're playing in surround sound:
Set up iTunes to play content in surround sound
Movies you purchased or rented from the iTunes Store may have stereo audio and digital surround sound tracks. ...
In iTunes, click the Speech Bubble icon to view your audio choices, such as English (Surround). If the surround sound choice is dimmed or the icon doesn't appear, make sure you are using the appropriate hardware and that the content is encoded with digital surround sound.
You can find this information here:
Set up iTunes and your DVD Player for digital surround sound - Apple Support
    Best Regards,

  • How can I view iTunes charges without having iTunes?

How can I view iTunes charges without having iTunes?
Unless you have iTunes installed. I cannot find a way to see details about charges to my account.
I understand that a confirmation email is sent after each charge, but unfortunately I delete those.
Apple has to implement an easier way for people to track details of charges without the need of iTunes, since most people do not connect or depend anymore of iTunes and only use (OTA) for registration, updates, iCloud restore, etc.

Sorry, but other than the receipts, the only way to view the dates and costs of a purchase are by using iTunes ona  computer. If you want to make suggestions to Apple regarding a different method, you can use their feedback pages:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
Those people who do not arrange access to iTunes are taking a big risk with their purchases, since without backing up to iTunes on your computer you're at the mercy of the app and content owners who can remove items at any time. This has happened on numerous occasions, and if that happens, redownloading that item will no longer be possible, leaving you with no recourse should you inadvertently or deliberately remove the item from your iOS device.
    Regards.

  • I have purchased MOVIES from Apple iTunes and want to know how I can burn them to my DVD so I can watch/view the movies on my TV's located in my house?

I have purchased MOVIES from Apple iTunes and want to know how I can burn them to my DVD so I can watch/view the movies on my TV's located in my house?  Pls post what you know or works for you - I see the movies on iTunes but am unable to locate them in any folder on my computer???  Thank you!
    Pete

So what is meant here is spend more money - wrong answer.
For that reason most people prefer to buy movies on DVD. They are easily shared, foolproof, and super easy to use. I love Apple TV and iTunes for music and TV shows, but I would never purchase a movie that was not on an optical disc.
When I head out-of-town I can grab a couple of DVDs to watch on my new MacBook Pro during the flight. Easy and uncomplicated.
DVDs offer another advantage. You can watch your movie without depending upon a complicated and delicate infrastructure. Also, movies are frequently censored for political correctness (Star Wars is a recent example).  Despite public pressure for a release, the Disney movie “Song of the South” remains banned.  Even cartoons like Johnny Quest are now censored.  Only people who purchased physical copies years ago have them as they were originally produced.
When you possess a physical copy of the movie the PC patrol can't mess with it.

  • HT1657 Can I view my movies abroad while on holiday

Can I view rented movies abroad, while on holiday?

The .ibooks format created by iBooks Author cannot be opened on a Windows PC.  If you want to read a book that way, you have to create it in .epub format.  The Apple app for that is Pages.
You can export your book from iBA to .pdf format, and this can be read on a PC, but I think you will lose the interactive.

  • Can't view a movie I purchased from iTunes

I have purchased Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay from the iTunes store. The first time I bought it via the apple TV menu and tried watching it after it finished downloading. All I got was a white screen, no sound, no video but it did have the chapters so I could skip through the movie. I figured something went wrong so I had them cancel the charge and than reordered it via the iTunes store from my iMac. I still can't view it on my apple TV all I still get is a white screen with no video or sound. I can view it fine from my iMac but not from my Apple TV. Every other movie in my iTunes library seems to view just fine on my Apple TV including some that I have bought from the iTunes store. Has anyone seen this or have any idea what is going on?

restarting the Apple TV fixed it. Thanks not sure why it didn't occur to me to try that. All the years of PC use before going Apple should have trained me to try a reboot.
    Thanks

  • Can't view photos, movies in "horizontal / landscape view" on iPhone 4

I can't view movies, photos, Safari web on my new iPhone 4 in "horizontal / landscape" view. What am I overlooking here? Is there a setting in "Settings" on the phone I can change, or is this "not" available on the iPhone 4? That would be ridiculous!!!
    Thanks all.
    Macluva99

There is an option to lock the phone in portrait orientation. The lock is accessed vie the multitask screen: double tap the home button, and swipe from left to right, and you should see the lock at the far left. Press it to toggle the lock on/off.

  • Can I view a movie rented via one Apple TV on a different Apple TV?

I just purchased a new Apple TV, after several years of enjoying the old one.  The decision was based on the availability of Netflix on the new Apple TV and the frequency with which different household members want to watch something different.  We've been pleased (except that the new Apple TV often can't connect to the Netflix server!) but something came up the other day that I am curious about.  The kids had just rented a movie in the room with the old Apple TV and I asked them to move to the other room with the new Apple TV.  They complained that they would have to rent the movie again and I thought not.  Since they were renting directly from iTunes through our wireless netowrk, I figured that if we stopped the movie, turned off the first Apple TV, then turned on the second, that the movie should still show as "in play" and be accessible.  This was not the case and we had to rent it again.  Both Apple TVs are on the same account, so I am confused.  Am I mistaken as to how this should work or did we just miss something?

The official answer to this is no if it was rented on the old (or new) AppleTV.
Only rentals made in iTunes directly can be moved to AppleTV1/iPhones etc
AppleTV2 can play an itunes rental under Computers>iTunes Library>Rentals which only appears when there's a valid rental in your local iTunes to watch (so not if it was moved to the AppleTV1).
It's all confusing and quite illogical.

  • Can't access iTunes movies extras on 3.0

Maybe I'm just missing something, but I can't seem to find out how to access iTunes movie extras in 3.0. It's supposed to be there, but the one movie I have with it doesn't give me any noticeable option to access them.
    What am I missing here?

simply offering advice. at no point did i say it would fix the issue.
if you had specifically said you had already tried the obvious stuff then i wouldn't have suggested it.

  • HT1848 How can I save iTunes movies on an external HD?

I'm trying to transfer my iTunes movie library from my iPad2 to my external HD, because my PC's internal SSD doesn't have enough memory to hold all the movies.  Any ideas?

Easy to do. First, tell iTunes where to store the movies on your computer by going to iTunes/preferences. In that wiindow, click the advanced tab and under iTunes media folder loaction, browse to the external drive where you want the movies stored. You can create a folder or iTunes will make one for you called Itunes.
I have keep iTunes media folder checked as well as copy files to iTunes media folder checked. This will copy all purchase to the drive and organize movies and TV shows into their own folders by show and season #.
Then sync your iPad and in iTunes on your computer, click File/Transfer purchases and iTunes will do t he rest.

  • Can't delete iTune Movies from  my hard drive

    Hi,
I wondered if anyone could help...
I maxed out my hard drive with iTune Movies and music, and have been trying to transfer to an external hard drive which is fine, but... I can't delete them from my laptop's hard drive (Vista on Sony Vaio). I don't have the same problems with the music at all, just the movies.
I'm running out of space, help!
    Thanks
    A

OK, so that tells us it's the operating system permissions for your account.
In WE, go to the top-level music folder.
Right-click > Properties and go to the Security tab.
Give your windows userID *full control* and ownership of that music folder and make sure to apply those settings to all child/subfolders.
This web page has some Windows 7 screenshots - I think they look the same for Vista.
