QT 7 - not compatible with older PC games?
My kids have an older (04?) Disney PC game which requires QT 4.0 or greater. As soon as we downloaded QT 7, the game no longer worked. A note pops up that we are required to have QT 4 or greater - although QT 7 is already on the machine! Any ideas? Should we delete QT 7 and go back to an earlier version? However, would an earlier version work with iTunes (which is also installed)?
Any ideas would be great.
You can only have one install of the QuickTime software and the older version wouldn't work with iTunes version 8.
The "conflict" is probably caused by the game as it reads the CD and compares "notes" with your QuickTime install. Not much you can do to fix the trouble except find a very old machine with Windows 98 OS.

ICloud apps Not Compatible with older versions if iWorks
CAUTION
If you haven't upgraded to the new version of iWorks that was released with Mavericks today, do NOT open any of your files in iCloud. If you do, you will no longer be able to open them with your older versions of the iWorks apps.
For example, Apple today released Pages version 5.0. The last version of Pages was 4.3 (released in Dec 2012). If you create a new document in Pages 4.3, save it to iCloud and then open it in iCloud using Safari, you will no longer be able to open the same document in Pages 4.3. When you try, you'll get an error that you need a newer version of Pages.
In other words, it's now imperative that you upgrade to the latest version of the iWorks apps that were released today as the earlier versions are NOT compatible with the iCloud apps.

Nano 6th G not compatible with older accessories
My new nano doesn't work properly with my car stereo( Alpine with adapter cable), home stereo with ipod dock, JBL on stage II speaker dock. I get some functionality, but not full (it would take too long to be specific with the problems). All these worked perfeclty with my 3rd G nano.
Is there any way of fixing these issues.Yes its because of they've changed the Pin Configuration on newer Ipod/Nano/Iphone products so they just play but don't play on the old docs.
So the question I posted on another thread is are there adapters that will let the newer models play and charge properly on the older docs and cables? -
Files Created in Photoshop CC Not Compatable With Older Versions of Photoshop?
I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC. Is this true?
i opened a fine in PSCS 13.1.2.I edited it a bit, converted a layer to a SO and used liquify on that layer.
I saved it as a tiff. Did not try it as a psd.
PSCS5 opened the tiff without complaint, including the SO+liquified layer. When i clicked on the liquify at bottom of the SO layer to try to edit it I got the notice "CANNOT FIND THE FILE", or something like that.
So, I guess pscs5 is already done for.

It appears that you cannot update Aperture to 3.5 on older Macs. Worse yet the new update is not compatible with the previous version.

Is this a temproary issue or a permanent issue?

I have multiple computers I use to work on my photography.
I use a older Mac Pro Vintage late 2007 that cannot be updated beyond OS 10.7.5. This is currently my primary photo computer.
With 3ghz Quad cores and over a terabyte of drive space no need to update yet except for not being able to load the latest OS.
I also use a MacBookPro Vintage Late 2011 and it was just updated to Mavericks. I use this to edit my photos on the go.
I will consider updating to the latest Mac Pro when it becomes available but what to do until then and a warning to others.Actually, I had this same problem - accidentally upgraded my library on my Mac Air to 3.5, but am not running Aperture 3.5 on any of my other, older Macs. I *was* able to downgrade the library back to 3.4.5. BAsically, I had to open the library on a computer running Aperture 3.4.5 in library repair mode (holding down command and option when opening). In the ensuing dialog I had to choose to rebuild the library. I first tried just repairing, and it seemed to work, but next time I opened Aperture I got the "library can't be opened iwth an older version of Aperture" message. Rebuilding it seems to have done the trick.

Having restored the library to 3.4.5 format, I downgraded Aperture on my Air to 3.4.5 as well and it's been smooth sailing. Just make sure you have Mavericks set up to *NOT* automatically update your apps, or you'll end up in the same situtation all over again when it silently upgrades Aperture to 3.5 again.

On add-ons manager, I see that Trend Micro NSC Firefox Extention 6.5.0.1234 is not compatible with Firefox 4.0.1. I have contacted Trend and been told that their builders have not yet created a product that is compatible. I think this means that I should revert to an older version of Firefox until my internet security is updated. How do I do this? I'm clueless. :) Or, is there a better solution?

my payroll department uses eSAP payroll program. It is NOT compatible with your new version...6.0. I need your older version 1.5 so i can access my payroll records. I am currently being forced to use Internet Explorer and I absolutely HATE that software.

This is the problem. My father just got an iPhone 5. He has a Macbook Pro 2009 with OS X 10.5.8. The iPhone is not compatible with this version since the iTunes is an older version as well. At our local Apple store in my home country, they told him he needs to upgrade (which I agree of) but that the memory of this computer is not enough to hold the newer OS.
Please help, he does not really agree with buying a new computer just because of the versions.

Tried updating firefox but it is not compatible with leopard op. If I try to re-install the older version will my bookmarks still be there?
Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6.
Firefox 16 is the last version that runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.
You would have to update to OS X 10.6 to be able to use current Firefox releases.

I'm at my wits end here. I've installed Bootcamp and a copy of Windows 7 (64) and am currently attempting to install Assassin's Creed II and keep receiving the error: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Window's you're running..."
This happens with quite a few of the games I own...I've tried copying the contents of the disks to the hard drive and running with privileged access...tried opening the setup files from CMD with elevated permissions...nothing.
Any help?I have the exact same problem as well. I've been having this since I tried installing the 3.0 drivers for Bootcamp drivers. The 2.2 drivers worked perfect, and I wasn't getting this error. I'm pretty sure It's something in the drivers as well, but nailing it would be very hard. It also doesn't appear to happen to everyone with similar spec'd Macs either. It's weird. Want to be able to open tabs in multiple rows, rather than in a single row. I used tab mix plus before, but it says it is not compatible with New tab Homepage. The older version of Firefox allowed this very easily.

I am facing a lot of troubles as Firebug and my other add-ons are not compatible with the new releases of firefox.
I don't want to switch to any other older version of firefox...

For other add-ons marked as incompatible, you can install the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 Add-on Compatibility Reporter], this will enable all of your add-ons and you can test to see if they work. If the add-ons do not work you can disable them. Note that the current release version of Firebug will not work, you will need to use the beta version.
