QT clips deleted from drop zones & folder. Why?

I had a theme with 8 drop zones. Six of which were filled with QT clips. The clips were stored in a project folder with 15 other clips that I was not using. I went to achive the project and a pop up said it couldn't locate the clips. The clips had been deleted from the drop zones (just the clips not pics that I had in other drop zones)and they were missing from the folder on the hard disk. Any ideas?

Never heard that one before... I have no idea why that would happen "out of the blue."

  • Making stills from clips for the drop zone

How do I make a still picture from an iMovie clip for the drop zone and paste it to the drop zone?

this option is available in iMovie under create still frame from the edit menu. then from there "save frame as" ... i use jpeg.
    Like this:
From there you simply drag and drop the jpeg to iDVD.
Good luck and hope this helps. If so, please take the time to mark your question as "Answered."

  • I have 3 consecutive movie clips that I am trying to drop into the drop zone but it only recognizes the first one and only produces the firts one in a DVD. How can I drop all three  movie clips into one drop zone

On IDVD, I have 3 consecutive movie clips that I am trying to drop into the drop zone to create a DVD but it only recognizes the first one I dropped and only produced the first one in a DVD. How can I drop all three  movie clips into one drop zone.

I have had some luck doing the following: Export each clip from imovie as a quicktime clip. Open iDVD and create a new project. Import a few stills into iDVD and then click on the button that gets created to get into the screen where the individual slides appear. Drag each quicktime into that screen and arrange in the order you want. You can then delete the stills. The button that appeared when you dropped in the stills will launch a complete show.

  • HT201272 I rented a movie, watched half of it. Had 27 days left until it expired. After 3 days, received a message saying the movie had expired and it appears deleted from my rental folder. Any ideas how I can get this movie back?

You would have to rent it again.
Once started the movie you have 24 hours to complete viewing.
How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library.

  • How do I delete content from a drop zone without deleting the drop zone?

I can't seem to figure this out, and I feel silly about it!  Your help is much appreciated

Select the drop zone layer and then in the inspector image tab click on the clear button at the bottom.

  • Delete A Drop Zone

I picked a theme with 6 drop zones. I'd like to use only 4 or 5. Any way to get rid of some drop zones. I'm not finding anything when searching, so I suspect there is not an easy answer.

There is no direct way to delete drop zones from a chosen theme. You can choose to not show any drop zones by selecting View-Show Inspector and unchecking the box at the bottom of the window.
I am curious why you need to eliminate a drop zone. Drop Zones are eye candy behind your menus. You can if you wish drop the same photo into every drop zone which will make it appear like one drop zone.
If you are new to iDVD you may be making the common mistake of assuming that the drop boxes are where you drop your movies or clips. When you add the movies, they are dropped on the menu away from the drop zone. The movie or movies will show up as text labels. If I am wrong about this, I am sorry.

  • Images disappear from drop zones

I'm using the "Bands" template, and I'm adding a photo to 3 different drop zones: the first one (the animated one) works fine. But when I add a photo for background on either the menu or "extras" page, it goes in fine, turns black and white and has the shading around the top edge, but when I click on another page in the DVD and back to these two pages, the image is gone and it again says "Drag Photos or Movies Here". Any ideas? I'm using 7.0.4, don't have any compelling reason to upgrade to 7.1 unless this bug is fixed there...

    Hi George
Sorry to hear you are having issues with iDvd regarding background and drop zones not staying with the images or photos you picked. I just tried the very same thing you described above running iDvd 7.0.4 on a Dual G5 2.0 Ghz and I cannot duplicate this issue. Mine runs fine and exactly as expected. All choices remain in place. So I'm not exactly sure what's going on with your own particular configuration. But like you I don't recommend updating unless this issue is first addressed in the next update. My feeling is that it won't be. What you may want to do if you haven't already is dispose of the plist for iDvd. Go to your HOME folder > Library > Preferences >
    com.apple.iDvd.plist
Drag and drop this file to the trash or to the desktop and relaunch iDvd.
Come on back if this fails to help. Please also let us know exactly how much available hard drive space is remaining on the boot volume (your main HDD). You may also want to repair permissions at this time from apple's disk utility.
    Good luck!

  • Gmail stops working until i delete the offline cache folder. why?

Using the Apple Mail Client, my G-Mail account stops updating every couple weeks.  I found through forums that if I delete the offline cache folder (it's hidden, library-mail-account) everything goes back to normal.  Why is this happening and why hasn't it been fixed?  I'd appreciate any insight!

    Hi Eric,
Since it doesn't happen to gMail on several Macs & OSX versions from 10.4.5 to 10.7.4 & beyond, I suspect Disc corruption, or possibly RAM, have you checked either?

  • Maybe this question has been found already, but I have yet to find the answer. How can I restore my bookmarks after it has been deleted from my 'bookmarkbackups' folder?

So it has been a couple months now since I last cleaned up my bookmarks toolbar. And I could remember a couple of bookmarks tabs I wish I did not delete. I found some articles saying I could try restoring previous versions of my bookmarks from the dates of recent system restore points. But the earliest date I found was of only last week's. I've checked everywhere in my Firefox profile for anything that I could restore to date back into that time, but they too only tracked back as early as last week. I believe the automatic backups Firefox had made during that time has now long been deleted from the system in order to make room for my most current ones. How am I going to be able to retrieve those bookmarks when their aren't any backups available now to restore from?

If you do not have backups of your bookmarks, either in the bookmarkbackups folder or saved elsewhere, then you can't restore your bookmarks.

  • Picture missing from drop zone

I'm new to DVD Studio Pro so bear with me.
I am creating a DVD project using the Brush Detail template. I have two menus as its a small project. I dragged a picture into the drop zone last night and it appeared in the menu just fine. Tonight when I opened the project the picture could be seen in the inspector but it's not in the drop zone. When I run the simulator the picture is still not in the drop zone. I tried to delete the picture asset but I couldn't as it's still in use. Any Ideas?
    Thanks, Dennis

Scracth that it's the 4th picture.

  • Putting video clips in template drop zone

I can't drag my video into the control video drop zone. the computer won't let me drag the video clip anywhere...what could be limiting my ability to do this?

Are you working in FCP or Motion? If FCP, are you working with one of the Motion Master Templates? Also, what is the source of your video and what are it's settings?

  • How to add more than one clip to a drop zone?  New guy

Hey all, I'm new to DVD studio and I'm trying to fiqure out how to add more than one clip to a Template drop zone. I'm using a 6 button template. I've named each button .. Football, Baseball, Hockey ...etc.
How can put in MORE THAN ONE CLIP in the Football track/drop zone. So when someone clicks on Football they can see 3 examples.
Do I need to create something to link to that Football button?
    Any replies appreciated

You can edit the segments to be used in FCP or Motion so that the asset drop in has three examples
Another way (if you want) is to make the entire menu outside of DVD SP so that the background layer is an m2v and the items are revealed/masked to some degree
Take a look towards the bottom of this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2951183&#2951183 where I discuss http://www.dvdstepbystep.com/Overmovies.zip
Note that you can also use a basic overlay to do this. The overlay would be just solid black instead of the arrows/circles things I use in that example.
For instance make the text one color and the box over the movie another (You can make it blue and the box red lets say) Draw a region over both for the button. Map blue for highlights/transparencies for normall/selected/activated and the same for the Box

  • File being deleted from Creative Cloud folder

Creative Cloud just deleted a file from my CC folder on my mac. The desktop application gave me a notification saying that a file had just been deleted. I did not delete it, and I'm unusure about what went wrong.
I tried to contact the custumer support chat, but the guy didn't really know what he was doing. What can i do?

I had similar problems with Google Drive about a year ago. It had to do with a very large folder, over 100Gb. The problem as I saw it was some sort of delay in a delete comand when I moved the file. It was ricocheting through the system somehow. Each time I tried to re-synch my folder, the command would send from the cloud to delete the local folder. What I noticed was that when I went into the on-line trash folder on Google Drive, some of the files were there, but not all of them. I would restore what was there, then come back later, and more would appear. Rinse, repeat.
My Google Drive hasn't acted up since then. They instituted a policy to have a pop up confirmation appear before deleting local files.  My advise is to keep large files off the cc until Adobe catches up.
