QT export audio out of sync
Hi - I'm having problems exporting. When I export HD QTs the audio is half a second ahead of the video. Playback in FCP is ok, but not great ... it often stutters and is out of sync but after pausing it, it then plays well. The Quicktime exports play better in smaller frame sizes. I feel the computer is chugging and struggling somewhat.
I've tried the following to no avail:
Quit and Restarted FCP & Computer
Trashed my Preferences
Checked 'recompress all frames' on export options
Ensured I have 15% free on both HDs (edit files are on external HD)
Started new sequences within the project and pasted in the edits
FCP Version 7.0.3
Mac OS 10.7.5
2.66 Inctel Core 2 Duo iMac
The footage is XDCAM EX from a Sony EX3. I've attached photos of my setup & sequence settings.
I've spent a couple of hours re-exporting and looking online for help but nothing seems to be working. Its frustrating as its a workflow I've done for a couple of years ... if anyone out there could help it would be amazing!
Many thanks
Oliver
(P.S. I did change the Settings of the FCP from 720p60 to 720p30 about half way through the project, but that shouldn't affect the export.)
About the time you changed FCP Easy Setup from 720p60 to 720p30 DURING Export?
As you stated on this post:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2384569&tstart=0
I wouldn't think that's the best time to make a major change.

Quick time export Audio out of sync
Exporting a quicktime movie (a 30 min timeline HDV 720P) for importation into Compressor, parts of the audio loose sync. The timeline is in sync.
Using latest versions of FCP and Quicktime. Pro 2.8 dual Qaud with 10gb ram
It appears to be intermittent as I have exported other similar timelines with out problem. I am trying compressor directly but as we all know that may take most of the day even using the clusters on the macThis out of sync problem could be related to the
klyte codec I installed which may have created problem. or something went
wrong in audio capture as it should have been a sterio file as you
mentioned.
For some, the K-Lite CODEC Pack works fine. For many more, and this might well depend on which of its elements one installs, it is a total disaster. Again, depending on what has been installed, a simple uninstall of the elements might work. In some other cases, it will take much more work to clean up after it.
My best advice is to only install CODEC's on a "need" basis. I also attempt to go to the source for my CODEC's, even if that means passing up a free one, for a paid one. If at all possible, I want no hacked, or reverse-engineered CODEC's on any of my systems.
Good luck, and do please try a Project with the proper Preset, and footage captured either in Pr or HDVSplit. Let's see if, with Pinnacle our of the way, you get better results. Please report.

IMovie iOS export Audio out of sync
I've just bought iMovie for iOS version 1.4.1, which I believe is the latest.
After making a project, I exported the movie with HD720p video size.
I used mainly photos and short videos, as a clip of my travel. I used background song,
Problem is, after I exported, the audio goes out of sync.
The photos and videos changed sequentially, in sync with the audio when I play it in "project"
But once I exported it, the audio goes a little bit earlier than expected - around 0.5 seconds earlier.
Any help or solution to this problem?
I'm running iPad 4 with the latest iOS (6.1.3) and iMovie 1.4.1.
Battery is at 13% at the moment.Well I tried importing the .mov file that is correct into iMovie but no matter what I tried (I did optimized- full quality, optimized- large, and not optimized, and I also copied the .mov file out of the iMovie Events folder to somewhere else and renamed it), the video and audio didn't match up in the clip in iMovie. The video was always off. Any suggestions?

Exported Audio out of sync on one clip only - everything else is fine.
Hi all,
I am under a deadline and really appreciate any help on this. I've been working in 30 fps, Apple Prores 422. I've been outputting various cuts of a documentary. I had no issues at all until this morning.
One series of clips at the end of one sequence is now quite mysteriously out of sync. When I play in FCP there are no issues. Only when I output, and only in one small section of one sequence.
Again, this sequence gave me no issues for months. Just today.
The whole film is fine when outputted. It's just that one series of clips is out of sync by about a second. And in FCP there is no sync problem or delay.
Thanks!!Hi there,
The clips in the sequence are from different source tapes. Other clips from the same source tape work correctly. Everything in my documentary is Apple Prores 422, same settings across the board. I did a massive convert of all the footage I am working with before I started the project.
I "solved" the issue by starting a new sequence at the point where the audio went funky. That sequence, which has the same settings as all my others works fine and nests into the final output sequence just fine. But I still don't know what happened.
Any thoughts? Since the issue is somewhat resolved (via this workaround) I don't want to take any of your time. But I am curious...
Thanks,

Some audio out of sync in after Export
Can using the built in Audio tools like Loudness, or adjusting the sound levels in the waveform cause the audio to go out of sync?
I'd say not...but that is what seems to be happening.
I have a 2hr 30 projet for a DVD.
All individual clips captured on Canon 5d 3 at 48khz 25fps
Project is 48khz 25fp, as set automatically when the clips were first dropped on the timeline
One particular group of 3 clips, seems to randomly and suddenly loose sync in the middle, sometimes at the start, some times in the centre, then often it comes back at the end.
Of the whole 2 hr 30 project only this bit is giving issues, all other clips have been edited in the same way, and are similar lengths, some longer, some shorter, all stay in sync. Max clip length about 8 minutes
In the timeline the audio stays perfectly in sync
I have re made the sequence of three clips , totalling 24 minutes long, probably 6 times now. and each time after adjusting the audio levels the exported audio has variable sync,
Also re imported the footage and tried again
No added audio tracks, just a single compound clip containing three complete clips, with the ends trimmed
Audio has not bee detached from the video.
All I am doing is adjusting the audio levels,
Hum On
Noise reduction to about 2%
Loudness On :
Amount 20%
Uniformity 15%
First noticed this yesterday on a DVD burnt using "Send To Compressor" Create DVD
Also happens using the in built Share, to DVD, ot share To master File
Output settings are also 48khz and 25fps
If I do an export of the clip With no audio corrections, it is fine. But as son as I try and adjust the audio levels, it goes out of sync.
I'd half suspected I had somehow dragged the audio in the timeline, when adjusting the levels, but no. Go back and play the clip in the timeline and it is perfect. But Share that compound by dropping in to a New project, export as master and Playback in QT and the audio goes out of sync after I have done a levels correction. Un-corrected ( for level only ) audio stays in sync.
o master file that single coHow are you exporting? The first quicktime export option or quicktime conversion? What are your settings for the export?
Did you capture with device control with abort capture on dropped frames and create new clip on timecode break enabled? -
Audio out of sync after exporting into Quicktime using current settings.
Quicktime file has audio out of sync when I export to quicktime movie using current settings.
Ok for about the first few minutes then, out of sync after about 10 minutes.
I shot the footage on tape with my Sony HVR-Z7u.
My Sequence setting is the same as the format of the footage as shown below.
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD 1440x1080
Editing Time base: 23.98
Quicktime video settings: Compressor: HDV 1080p24
Audio Settings: Rate 48 KHz
Depth: 16bit
Clip format:
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD 1440x1080
Vid Rate: 23.98
Compressor: HDV 1080p24
Audio Rate 48 KHz
Audio Format: 16bitI recently moved and both of my editing machines were unplugged for a couple of days until I could get them set up. After turning them back on, the problem had disappeared. Perhaps leaving the system unplugged had allowed some of the internal components to reset? That's the only thing I can think of. At any rate, the issue is gone.

Audio out of sync on source file
So I've captured 4 tapes from an event. The 1st two tapes captured produced a quicktime file with the audio out of sync. The last two tapes are fine. The sample rates match both the capture settings and sequence settings and "make new clip on timecode break" is turned on. "Abort capture on dropped frame" was left off.
I set up a new scratch disk after already capturing all the footage. I moved everything (render files, capture scratch, audio render, etc.) from one folder to another. I had suspected this being the problem until realizing the problem was not only on the timeline, but also on the source files opening in quicktime player.
I've done searches and everything, but cant seem to find anything helpful. Could dropped frames be doing this?
~ JimFirst, scroll to the right in your browser and make sure the audio 'format' is 48.0kHz...just to check.
What is your media source...DV, HDV, DVCPro...etc?
Is the sync issue a consistent amount, or does it fall further out of sync over time?
If there were timecode breaks or any other reason that caused the capture to 'drop frames', then chances are your setting for 'make new clip on timecode break' is the culprit. FCP will continue to capture beyond the break, but with improper TC.
If the sync just goes further out of sync over time, then it could be the audio was captured at 47.998 or 48.002. This can usually be fixed by 'Exporting as aiff - 48khz/16bit.
Drifting out of sync can be an issue with long captures as well. Might consider breaking captures down to 20 minute chunks.
Post back with info/answers.

I have read a number of forum treads and I'm at my wits end. I want to capture in HD edit it in real time and export to DVD, BlueRay and Flash. I have spent hours on support and updated every driver and configuration setting that I know. PLEASE will someone tell me what do I need to do to get this to work?
Is it the DELL? Do I go to a Mac? (Ironic that most adobe tutorials are on Macs) Do I need a different solution? I'm going crazy! Maybe it's me and I'm capturing and creating sequences all wrong. Please provide a workflow that is working for you. Let me know if you need more specifics. Thank you in advance!2. I did a search for HDVSplit and came up with this site. http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm Is this correct? Is there a released version?

Audio out of sync with elemental plugin, and slower than my i7!!!
Maaannn!!
I just got a PNY nvidia quadro 1800 with elemental accellerator plugin. I just transcoded 2 hours of HDV straight from premiere 4 with Adobe Media Encoder using the Elemental codec and the audio is out of sync. It plays out of sync on the Blu Ray disk, and in Encore4. The audio is perfectly synced in Premiere. I just did another project a week ago without the Elemental, using the default Main Concept encoder and the audio is perfect. I am pretty sure I have the latest version of the Elemental Accellerator because there is a button to check for updates and it says there are no updates available. Does anybody know what is wrong here?.
The transitions are getting messed up. I can see a small section with the audio synced, then the video repeats after a second throwing them out of sync. I also suspect that the Elemental accelerator does not process any faster than the default h.264 for Blu Ray encoder. I hope I did not waste my money on this nvidia quadro 1800..
Whoooaa! I just woke up and checked the transcoding time.. To transcode approximately 2 hours of HDV it took 6:35 (hr:mm) with the elemental accellerator and it took 5:09 with my i7 920 chip!! Was that nvidia card a waste of money, or what?!!! Between the slower speed and the audio out of sync, I'd say I made a BIG misteak.. Does anybody want to buy a PNY nvidia quadro 1800? it'll be on ebay very soon..
Win7 64bit, Master Collection 4, i7 2.66 Ghz, Kingston Triple Channel DDR3 1600Mhz 6Gb, ASUS P6T, PNY nvidia quadro 1800.....Thanks Neil,
I don't think my audio interface has anything to do with it.. I am using Adobe Media Encoder for the export and the Audio interface's latency has nothing to do with it.. I see the source of the problem but not the solution.. The Elemental plugin is not working properly with the transitions in Premiere. The transitions are visibly botched and the sound is in sync for a partial second of each clip, then the video skips backward as the sound keeps playing. This happens on every clip after the transition.
Whatever you were talking about might have to do with some kind of real time export, but to where? I think Premiere might have some auto plugin delay compensation for audio tracks.. I dont think you even read my post.. My MOTU 896 Mk3 audio interface has a 128 sample buffer leaving a few milliseconds of latency, and I can set it as low as 64.. This still has nothing to do with my problem.. Thanks for your input..
I am curious to know what you thought I was capturing elemental streams and audio from my interface in real time to.. I was unaware of anything that works like that in this type of editing..
The bottom line is that my i7 chip gets the job done much faster than the quadro 1800, and that's a shame that I spent the money on the 1800.. On top of that it doesn't even work properly!! -
Audio out of sync after importing .MOV
Experiencing audio out-of-sync issues after importing a .mov clip into Premiere Pro.
The .mov clip causing the problem does not have a problem when played with quicktime or vlc: The audio matches the video perfectly.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1 (4) on OSX 10.9.1
Open Premiere, New Project ... > OK > Import the single video clip (whether by dragging into the app, or using the Media Browser). Start playing the clip in the Source monitor, scrub forward. Result: audio and video are way out of sync.
The .mov clip causing the problem was exported from Silverback app. http://silverbackapp.com/
Details about the .mov clip, via Media Inspector app:

The video imports perfectly into Final Cut Pro 10.1.1
I have Premiere Pro trial and Final Cut Pro trial. If there's no fix or easy work-around, I will have to ditch Premiere.>Frame rate mode : Variable
No version of Premiere does "well" with Variable Frame Rate
Below is about iphone, but may help
Some people find that Iphone won't edit easily because it uses a variable frame rate

I have several clips from my Panasonic LX-5 (720P). I created a new project (CS 5.5) and imported the clips. When I play the file directly from Windows Explorer, all is well. However, in the timeline, the audio is way ahead of the video and then part way through a clip, the audio disappears altogether. Also, the line at the top of the sequence is yellow (above transitions, it is green). I thought maybe the final exported file would be fine, but it had the audio out of sync and missing in the same spots, too.
Any ideas what's going on here?
Thanks,

Audio out of sync after encoding
I'm hoping someone can offer a suggestion. I've encoded my sequence 4 times now and every time the audio is out of sync with the video. The sequence is about 2 hours long. It was shot on a HD flip cam, , 1280 x 720 (1.0) 30.00 fps, 44100 Hz. The sequence is HD 1280 x 720 (1.0), 29.97 fps, 48000 Hz-Stereo. They are the exact settings I've been using to make these videos for the past 5 months since upgrading to CS5, and this is the first time I'm having this issue. I usually make 30 minutes videos, this is my longest yet.
I've definitely had this happen before with cs4, but was hoping the upgrade to a better version as well as better computer would do away with these encoding issues. I dont' know what other info you may need, but I'm happy to provide more.
I'm exporting to window's media, NTSC Source Hight Quality, output 720x480, 48kHz, stereo. Everytime I export it, the video markers only cover half the sequence. I have to move them to cover the entire sequence. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
JulesThank you so much. I did have problems with Encore, but I hopefully got that resolved. This specific problem is audio out of sync in my media encoder. I can't test the project beforehand. It took 2 1/2 hours to encode and when I played the finished project, it was out of sync.

How do i replace video without putting all of audio out of sync?
hello,
i am trying to replace a video clip with an alternative clip while keeping the original audio, but everytime i select a clip to replace, it does so but puts the audio out of sync starting from where i inserted the clip...help!
Thanks,
stevenFirst, go into iMovie/Preferences and make sure that the Advanced Tools are enabled.
Next drag and drop the alternate clip from the Event to the frame in the project where you want it to start. A pop-up menu will come up. Choose "Cutaway". -
We are trying to output a 70 minute documentary onto either a mini-dv in the Canon GL2 or to Quicktime movie to burn to a DVD . The entire project is in synch until output...then audio out of sync by roughly 6 frames. We go back to our timeline, resynch it, and then it goes out of sync again when we try to out put it. And of course we are on deadline. Help.
When you're viewing it in FCP, how are you seeing and hearing it? The correct way is to view AND listen on external devices (TV monitor & speakers).
If you're watching on an external TV monitor but listening to the computer's speakers (which a lot of people seem to do), it will appear out of sync when it really isn't. If you make adjustments based on that, you're actually creating the sync problem yourself.
