QT in Momentics IDE for MS Windows

, I required Qt to be integrate with QNX IDE for playbook.
Unfortunately, the trash has been emptied already. AA7 is running on Windows 7 with Parallels. I used to have a PC with XP but it will no longer be supported by MS and hence no fixes and development to be made on it. I few PC-based applications that I access with Windows 7+ Parallels on my MAC. Would it be safe for me to use the cleaner tool to remove any Adobe on my hard-drive?
I selected Windows 7 as that is the recommended OS to use with MAC/Parallels and AA 7.
Help/feedback much appreciated to resolve this issue.

Hello,
I'm am finishing up a rather extensive test suite that executes over 10 minutes. I'm getting worried at the lack of status from the vi's, and that it might make the techs who use it nervous if they dont see something change.
My thought was to create a global string variable, and within all the sub-vi's append information text messages as certain times. The top level vi would have a loop with just a read of the global variable that would display it to the user.
Is this the most effective way to achieve the status updates, or does anyone have a alternative suggestions?

-TedI had a similar type of problem and I used a control reference to a
string indicator so the sub-VIs could send information directly to the
indicator. It works well as long as your program is not
processor-intensive. It saves on having a loop constantly checking a
global variable.
I have included a VI that uses a reference to the front panel to append
text to a multi-line string indicator. Give the VI a reference to the
front panel and the string that you want to append.

Update kernel steps for IDES 4.7 - Windows - MS SQL SERVER 2000
Hello,
Concerning updating the kernel - for IDES 4.7, Windows, SQL SERVER 2000 - is there a way to locate exactly the.SAR files - for the database dependent & database independent parts - which are compatible with the used SAP version.
Also, does updating the kernel involve only the following:
- Downloading the .SAR file.
- Taking a backup copy of the exe/run folder's content.
- Stopping the SAP system and all related services.
- Unpacking the .SAR files using the SAPCAR utitilty,
i.e. are there any specific steps to be done after the unpacking ?

I guess You want to upgrade kernel from 6.20 to 6.40.
Go to service.sap.com -> downloads -> SAP Support Packages -> Search for SP and Upgrades -> enter "kernel 6.40" and follow the link "kernel 6.40 32-BIT".
On next window choose from location :SAP KERNEL 6.40 \ Windows Server \ Database independent following SARs (title):
- enq
- disp+work package
- dsrlib
- enserver
- librfc
- MMC (optional)
- Kernel Part I (for Basis 640/620/610) Q1/2007 (very important)
- saposcol
From location:SAP KERNEL 6.40 \ Windows Server \ MS SQL Server choose following SARs:
- Database Library
- R3LOAD
- R3load Control
- Kernel Part II (for Basis 640/620/610) Q1/2007 (very important)
Unpack it to newKernel directory and copy it to \exe\run directory.
Next step Frank Deijkers already wrote.
On the end of upgrade go to \exe\run catalog and run sapstartsrv.exe program for registering new service and COM library.

Eclipse 1.3.2 window freezes issue, wrong IDE for win 7 or bad config?
Hi everyone, this is my first thread on this forum...well this is my first thread ever.
I wasn't sure where to post my question, but since it is veeeery noobish, I'm posting it here instead of the obscure 'other' development section.
I installed the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers the other day version 1.3.2 for my OS which is Windows 7 x86.
I installed the Java SE development kit 6 and had already the Java 6 runtime thingy installed way before I even considered studying computer science.
The problem is that when I run the code below the Java popup window appears.....but it won't close if I click on the 'x' to close it :/
Anyone knows the cause to this problem? It would save me a lot of time and mental sanity, I've been fighting with it for some time now.

Now I'm more aware and have started ignoring the feeling of helplessness of trying to learn a OOP language with such huuuuuge resources and APIs..The trick is to learn how to find answers. A forum shouldn't be your first visit, your brain is. Try to reason why you are getting certain errors or why something isn't working. If you get an error, copy/paste the part that is not specific to you into Google and see what you get. Mostly the error you get is the result of something else blowing up, look further and see if maybe something else was not working either.
Sometimes you have to deeper. I have had occasions where I needed to download the source code of an API so that I could step through it in debugging mode. That in itself is for me a very good reason to stick with open source stuff only; debugging capabilities. -
I have several Files created in Logic Audio for windows before v5.5.1 which can't open in Logic Pro X. Any ideas for a solution to this problem, The Windows files that were created in v5.5.1 open OK. I lost my XS key during a recent house move so can't update to windows files before trying to open in Logic Pro X

Ideas for lastest chipsets and computing hardware
i have many ideas for silicone based builds and i would like input from everyone if you wish.
discrete graphics are great and i believe that both Intel and AMD have made great recent leaps in this architecture and i give them both respect.
i believe low cas is the way to go for memory to assist in optimal multi-core usage and rendering capability.
3-d technology looks amazing to me although i have yet to try it out myself as well as a lot of the newest touch screens.
i would like to see 4-8 system threads with high physics per thread and as low of frequency as possible for less power draw after all if we are going to be innovative we should be energy efficient at the same time.
my point of view is from a gamers and over clocking perspective with little understanding of the hard work that goes into the programming and server end of the computing industry.In before Mike!

Creative ideas for Remote Backups and Working from Home??
Here's my problem in a nutshell:
My primary workstation is at my office where all my important files are stored. I backup once a month onto an external firewire drive which I (usually) keep off location in case of fire/theft etc.
In the future I'm going to need to conduct about 75% of my work from my office and the remainder from home. I'd like to be able to work on a file at my office. Go home. Sleep. And be able to work on the same file from home the next morning.
Any ideas for how I should do this? One solution I had was to run a nightly backup of my office computer (a tower) to a remote firewire drive at home (basically a clone). I could then plugin into the firewire drive with my laptop. This would also serve as a remote backup of my client's files.
Does this make sense? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions or pointers in terms of easy-to-use backup software. And how complicated would it be to set this up to a remote drive? And will there be problems with remotely backing us, say, a 500 MB file?

Many people telecommute by running the applications remotely, with a display server connecting their application to the system they're using. For instance, my work system is Linux; all applications use X windows as their display interface. My home system is OS X, which includes an optional X windows display server. Most of the time, when I need to work from home, I run a VPN client and use 'ssh -X' from an xterm under X on OS X to log in to my office system; and then I can run any application on my office system and have it display on my OS X system.
Similar solutions exist for most common OSs. Windows systems can run VNC or Citrix to export their display to clients that can run on OS X, Linux, or Windows; OS X can run Remote Desktop to export their display to clients that can run on Linux or OS X; etc. -

Transparent working window.
So I could set my whole artboard window transparent and still work on it.
I could easily and fast trace some shapes from locked PDF's and also directly from the browser without copying the image to my computer.
The problem is, of course, that Zoom would only work in the graphics in the Illustrator (needless to say) and would not affect to the graphics behind the Illustrator window.
But still I think I could use it very much.
For examble I could manually draw simple shapes and logos straight from the customers website, without downloading the poor JPG image.
Please let me know what you think about it.

Is it possible to assign an extended desktop to be an external desktop for a window's machine?
I have an iMac with Lion and a Windows Vists Laptop and corresponding external monitor on my desk. I'd ideally like to use my iMac as an external monitor for the Window's machine and essentially remove the physical one from my desk. Make sense?
I already have 4 extended desktops created on my iMac and I'm HOPING that I could assign Desktop 4 (example) as the external monitor to be controlled by the Vista machine. I'd like to be able to flip between my Mac OS and the "extrernal monitor'' via the 2-finger-swipe gesture. Anyone have any ideas?
NOTE: I also have Paralles installed with Windows 7 running on my iMac, but I specifically need the Vista machine to have the external monitor, so please do not suggest this solution.Thank you! While reading these directions, I realized that I have the wrong connector. I have the old Mac Monitor serial port to VGA instead of the MiniDisplay port to VGA needed (didn't even think about this computer not having that port available). I just bought the correct one from Apple, so I'll attempt these instructions as soon as it arrives.
To confirm: I'll be able to run the iMac as the external display and have Lion open simultaneously, right? (Obviously not both on the screen simultaneously, but the ability to "switch" views) Based on the article, the trick is turning the Target Display on/off with the Command + F2 buttons (as opposed to assigning an extended desktop and using gestures), correct?

I am trying to run Windows and Mac OS on my brand new MacBook Pro. I need to be able to boot to either one. I don't need a lot of hard drive space for the Windows OS. However, the software discs I own for Windows are 32 bit install. Is there a way to run this with what I have? I have the new MacBook 13 in. with retina display. 2.6Ghz i5 with 8GB RAM and 512 GB PCIe Hard drive.

I think you should take it back to the Geeks and tell them what you want, I also think you should backup before you do.
You do not need to reformat or repartition, you need to reinstall Windows from a 64bit copy, 32 & 64 have identical requirements as far as partition and format go, defragmenting has nothing at all to do with your needs. -

However, with inter-enterprise computing, there are major problems with providing access to shared data, given that enterprises will not wish to share all data with partners.
This project aims to investigate this problem by developing a prototype of an access control service that will help decide whether or not data access should be permitted. Suggested Languages & Tools: JavaWell, the approach I've come accross is a central server which is typically accessed indirectly from the web servers (e.g. through SOAP protocol or RMI).
The remote server sends a user id and a password (or more likely a digest of the password), and receives a session token, basically just a random string of characters which is checked with the central server each time a secure transaction is attempted. The token will be stored in a session object, or perhaps directly in a cookie or in the URLs.
Active session tokens are stored on the central server for comparison. This means the password doesn't have to be retained in the server.
It's possible for the session token to be transfered if the user switches from one site to another on the same authentication server.
Sun distributes one of these beasties, by the way, so you could take a look at their product specs. -

I unable to download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows from the OTN website. The download starts from here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/htdocs/101202winsoft.html
There are two files. The second file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip downloads fine. The first file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip stops at 46Mb with the message "connection reset by server".
When downloading using getright as suggested on the FAQ the connection has to resume at 46Mb. Using segmented downloading in getright I have been able to download 636.92MB of the 640MB file. The getright download window shows connected; waiting for reply but I am unable to get the last few Meg.
Any ideas how to complete the download? Has anyone else completed it successfully?

TomI guess, it is a problem with your network.
Yesterday I have downloaded both the files and installed successfully. The first file took around 20 minutes and secod file took nearly 10 minutes to download.
Are you using office network? You can try downloading at home with DSL. -
So when I plug my iPhone 3GS into my iMac, for music reasons, it says I have 123 songs. When I plug my iTouch into my iMac it says I have 565 songs on my iTouch. I have the same apple idea for both my iPhone and iTouch, how do I transfer my 565 songs on my iTouch to my iPhone? PLEASE HELP!!!
When you connect your iPad or iPod to the Mac, click on the device name in iTunes - don't click on the arrow on the device. Then click on the Music tab in the main window pane. Now you should see 'Sync Music' and all your playlists, artists and albums. Here you mark the checkboxes for what should be synced.
