QT no text trouble

Hi fellas, I have been experiencing some sort of a difficulty with few applications, for example k3b and openoffice. I am not 100% sure with ooo but k3b is definetely qt app, so as you can see thete's no text anywhere, when I go with my myouse over a button or so, it just flashes for, I don't know, maybe for a 1/10 of a second and dissappears. see screenshot... can anyone please tell me what the hell is this? it really pisses me off with ooo, I can live without k3b but ooo is one of my essential application sets on my pc.

No, that's not it. there is a white square in the top left-hand corner of the screen now, although I have done nothing... Well I tried installing truetype fonts, it did not work, however I gave it a shot... And now I have discovered the same problem in mplayer, when I try to add something to the playlist there is no text with newly opened items, when I scroll down and up the labels appear, it looks like an overlay or redraw issue to me.

Looks to me like a theme-related problem. Try using a different GTK theme just for kicks.

Multi-lingual Text trouble

Hi there,
I having trouble getting Director to display multi-lingual
text in #text members. I'm using WinXP Pro and have installed
everything that can be under the "Regional and Language Options".
The text displays correctly in the thumbnail preview in the cast
window but when I drag the member over to the stage I just get
square blocks. The same text works fine in notepad with the same
font. Is Unicode support limited to #flashComponent only?
Here's some sample text that is not working in a # text
member:

Ahhh dang .. scratch that happiness .. D11 doesn't support

What's infuriating about this is that thumbnail preview
renders RTL text correctly! But as soon as you place the member on
the stage the text renders arse about - presumably the cast window
is using standard win text controls.
Even the TextInput #flashComponent gets it wrong, though the
text is displayed correctly in the Property Inspector.
Can anyone recommend ways to use RTL text in D11?

That's correct. See, creating an HTML page is not the same as
using
Microsoft Word. HTML has no tab character, and it ignores
more than one
space between words.
If you want to 'move text around', you need to learn a bit of
HTML to do it.
Are you up for that?
Use Dreamweaver's Reference panel to read about the
<marquee> tag.

Texting trouble

My iPhone inst receiving texts from other network (ie: verizon) only from other iPhones and people who have AT&T. I just got my phone but have upgraded to 1500 text messages so i don't know why it isn't working.

There's probably nothing wrong with your phone. It often takes the other carriers "systems" a few days to catch up, especially if you ported your number over to AT&T.
Give it a little more time or call AT&T. Apple is not going to be able to help you.

BLackberry Flip SMS texting trouble :(

Hi i have a question about the SMS texting. I recently bought a plan for the sms text for 400 a month for 5 dollars. And for a while i have been able to text fine and recieve texts. But last week friday for some reason whenever i send a text it would show the text as "pending" and it will never actually send the text. Also apparently i am unable to recieve texts as well. Anyone know what is going on?

Still having text troubles

A member 'John' had answered a previous post of mine and he has gone offline. His answer although correct has uncovered another problem. Within my charactors palette, the 'leading' was set to 244 causing me not to see my cursor when I hit return while in a text box. The problem I am having now is that although I set the 'leading' to 'auto', every time I hit 'return' the leading goes back to 244. This happened for several fonts I tried. Is there a way to reset this or fix it?

Do the second thing I said – reset the type tool from the drop-down in the Character palette

Text gets jumbled up after publishing.

After publishing my text gets illegable. Sentences are written over each other. Mabybe my texts are too long. Some pieces are ok but at the end of the text trouble starts.

Perhaps check in iWeb that you don't have text boxes that are overlapping each other. This can be a cause. Also, if you know that you have a long piece of text to publish, just use one text box rather than a few. This makes more sense and it is less likely that any box will overlap.

Replacing the path with my own path, of course. However, I can't get it to work at all, it just crashes my JavaScript. I was thinking it might have something to do with the privilege stuff which, admittedly, confuses me a bit. But my understanding is that if you use the function without arguments, that shouldn't matter, and it will prompt the user for a path?

Well I was having trouble getting it to work without a path, though that kind of mysteriously started working now despite the fact that I didn't really change anything. I also assumed that part didn't apply to me because we are on 9, not 8, but maybe it means 8 and on?
I'm having a bit of trouble wrapping my mind around privileged and non-privileged contexts.
These methods can be executed only in a privileged context, which includes console, batch and application initialization events.
What would be the simplest way to execute in a privileged context? "Application initialization" sounds promising, does this mean when the application is first opened? If so, how would you execute JavaScript this way?!

Troubles by changing the size of a bookmark header text Repot generation Toolkit

Hello everyone
I'm having troubles getting the size of a header text formatted into a different font size, I attach the code I'm using to get the work done.
At the end I get all I want from the report generation toolkit but the text size in the header and footer . Does Anyone have a clue?
Well the image is too small I'm getting an error when I try to post a bigger one. The thing is that the VI's used here to change the size are append report text.vi and format text.vi. The first one is used to insert text through bookmarks in the header and footer (it works just gereat) and the second one is intended to change the size of the inserted text (it doesn't work at all) I've already used shift registers in the for loop but I get the same results. The last VI is dispose report.vi

sorry for the waiting I had to clean the block diagram up and take into account some data security issues before I could post the information you asked me to. I have to tell you that I already came out with a patch for the issue nonetheless it is not the correct way to solve it and I would appretiate if you or anyone else could help me to do it right.
Here is what I changed:
In my code at the Initialize state (within the state machine) there is the New Report.vi I opened it to get also the new report SubVI.vi opened, afterwards I selected the NI_Word.lvclass: new report subvi.vi and opened it in its code yoou can easly see the double numeric constant value for the size of the text inserted as default. I just changed it from 12 to 8 to correct the formatting. As the outcome all the text inserted through the bookmarks have the default size (8 pts).
I attached the new version of my code with all the documents you will need. Please follow these steps:
1.-Open the project named Verifica Temperaturas 2010.lvproj
2.-Run the main vi named Maquina Etdos verifica reporte 2.vi
3.-Check the option Laboratorio de Refrigeradores:
4.-Click OK
5.-Complete the information as shown:
(For Selecciona Machote pick the word document named Document.doc attached in the .zip file. For the Selecciona Archivo de temperaturas pick the Estacion1_21-02-2012.txt file also attached in the .zip file)
6.-Press Siguiente
After completing the steps you'll see how the document in created. As expected the size of the text in the header is 8 pts.

How do I know if my mouse is bad? I'm having trouble highlighting text with my mouse, model A1152

How do I know if my mouse needs to be replaced or if it something else? I am having increasing trouble highlighting text, it either won't hold the highlighting, or it won't highlight . . . making it impossible to create a link in my emails, to delete text, or copy and paste.
I have an iMac that is about 4 years old and the mouse that came with it uses a USB port to connect.

Is it one of those with a little moving/rotating ball on the bottom of it? Have you ever taken that out and cleaned it and the area holding it? It could be dust/dirt in there. I always used a QTip slightly moistened with alcohol.

and FireFox 1.0.7 ), but with copy paste from the text in Word in
Portuguese when i bring it to DW i can see the ( ç ã
é ... ) in the beginnig but in the Browsers testing i can't,
and then after a while i lose the ( ç ã o ...). Can

Your line breaks will most likely be incorrect if you don't turn on the Japanese Composer.
It is almost absolutely impossible to accomplish your goal without having a font - any font - installed on your system that has that glyph. However, if it's showing up in Word, than means that you must have that glyph installed, right? What font are you trying to use in InDesign? You might already know that Word will auto-substitute fonts when it encounters a missing glyph, so we really don't know what font is being used to render that one glyph. The whole sentence might be in MS Mincho but one glyph might be pulled from another font if MS Mincho doesn't have that glyph.
That being said, you're going to break it if you don't know how to set Japanese type in ID. It's not something where you can just copy text out of email and paste into your English layout.

iMessages. I have gone into settings and turned off iMessages for one minute then reactivated it. Then I turned off network settings and then back on again. Today I'll try and restore the phone again to see if that works. Frustrating!

Trouble exporting pdf with Arabic text to .doc file

I am having an issue exporting a pdf from the trial of Acrobat Pro XI on a Windows 7 computer.
The pdf has a table with English fields in the left column and Arabic equivalents in the right column.
It appears to display fine within Acrobat, so I assume it has fonts embedded and that Acrobat is somehow handling the display of the Arabic font correctly.
I need to export this to .doc or .docx so that I can enter additional data.
When I convert to .doc, the English column and fields convert pretty good, but the Arabic fields do not display well at all. I am not sure if this is some sort of trouble with Word (or the Windows OS) requiring an Arabic font or Arabic text support to be installed on the system or if there is some other issue (such as Acrobat not handling the conversion well)??.
I did note that there is an Arabic Font add on to Acrobat that can be downloaded from Here:

However, since Acrobat is seeming to properly display the Arabic text, I don't know that this is required...additionally when I tried to install the Arabic font support from that URL, it told me that Acrobat X was require, I am using Acrobat XI reader (installed with the trial version of Acrobat pro that I wish to purchase if I can get this working properly).

Unfortunately our conversion engine cannot convert text, such as Arabic, which reads from right to left. It maybe something that we add in the future however it is not available at this time.

Trouble manipulating text in PSE9

Running PSE9 under Mac OS X 10.6.8.
There are some things I've forgotten about working with straightforward black-on-white text entry.
1) While doing text entry, the entire document turns pink, and keystrokes generate white text. When I accept it with a green check, it changes to moving diagonal shadows and it doesn't solidify until I save it.
(I had inserted a .jpg file here showing an example of the problem, but it disappeared when I posted the article.)
2) If by some lucky keystroke it settles down, I don't seem to be able to get back into the text box to edit its contents; i.e. correct typos, change font size, etc.
I'd appreciate any sympathetic help.

We've finally got it licked, thanks to you guys. The image mode I had was Bitmap. When I went in to change it, the only other choice I had was grayscale -- the others were all dimmed -- so I checked that. When I went in a second time, nothing was dimmed so I chose RGB color.
Layers started working for me, giving me the versatility that I needed.
I discovered that there's a great difference between the foreground/background colors and the font color!
Finally (you're not going to believe this!) I was having trouble editing text because I was green-checking the text box before I tried the text work!
The thing is, I knew all this stuff at one time, but I'm out of practice, and my memory is shot. What do you expect? I turned 78 last week.

Trouble converting pdf to rich text

I must get this fixed asap.
I have updated and even purchased adobe for conversion pdf to rich text format
but it won't convert - keep getting error message. it doesn't matter if I use the cloud or directly on my computer.
This has to be fixed for online class work!
