Qt on different sites won't work

I have down loaded the new qt player with itunes,(had old version of qt). I try to go the this site, http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/main/homepage/home.html
or any of the warner bros. sites, and I get a question mark over the Q. I have looked up other answers on here. is the problem with my computer or what?

On the Mac platform the issue is sometimes caused by a QuickTime plug-in. QT 7 now installs two.
They are installed (again, I'm using a Mac) in the root directory in a folder called Internet Plug-Ins. The same is probably true on a PC (mine is currently not working so I can't tell you the exact location).
The offending plug-in is named QuickTime Plugin.webplugin. If you can move it to a different location (Desktop) and relaunch the browser the page may work without the question mark.
Do a search and move the file. Don't delete it and note its location so you can put it back if needed.

My website www.renuauto.com won't work at all on my home network. I tried multiple computers and none of them will load the page.
Switch to a neighbors network on the same computer, and it loads right up.

I can see it with IE6 / FF on windows xp - but it is very
wide and the
image is off to the right.

But its's difficult looking at the code as you are using
frames !!! ??

As you say looks like you patched code from many sources and
you have
inline CSS in more than one frame so again difficult to
decipher - and
it will be difficult to maintain.
The experts here may well say through away frames and use
css, but
they may be a leap too far - so why not use tables as an
interim step.
move all the css to external style sheets
as it is a commercial site - surely it would be much better
to host it
on a server with it's domain name rather than redirecting,
this would
make things much easier.
There is very little text for the search engines to use.
Would it not
be a good idea for some copy stating what the business is
about, where
you are etc etc - rather than just have a
oh and although the sound has gone on Firefox, it is still
there with
IE6.

Site won't work in FireFox

Hi Everyone,
I normally wouldn't ask something like this, but I've tried so many things and can't figure it out.
A friend sent me her website because it won't work in FireFox, but does in every other browser.
Here is the site:

I've looked pretty intensely at it, but I'm not a coding Guru. I can't see anything that would make it work in Chrome, Safari, Opera, IE but not FireFox.
It looks like FF just won't recognize the style sheet, but it's being called correctly as far as I know.

Help! Some sections of my Muse Site won't work after upload

It's really frustrating and I don't know why it doesn't work I have checked everything and anything, all links!
The website works perfectly fine on my computer, but as soon as I upload the site, some section won't work.
'Home' and 'Das Grill-Center' work just finde, but 'Speisekarte', 'Kontakt' and 'Impressum' don't work. When I click on the link it always says:
"Not Found
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server."
the sites name:
www.grill-center-bruehl.de
I have noticed that if I search online for the direct link http://www.grill-center-bruehl.de/dasgrillcenter.html it comes up (that is the part that works). The direct link http://www.grill-center-bruehl.de/speisekarte.html doesn't work. but the html site is definately uploaded

Changed the name of "home" now site won't work

hi. I changed my home page. What i did was make a duplicate, then deleted the original home folder, then renamed the duplicate to 'home'. (it won't allow me to use a cap "H" though)
I had the site masked and forwarded via Godaddy, and now my domain will not work. If i publish and visit, the site is fine, here it is http://web.me.com/coutroulis/Nikos_site/home.html
and the linked domain, is www.coutroulis.com
(which doesn't work)

IWeb mobile site won't work

I published an iWeb website and when I try to visit it on my iPhone, the phone automatically redirects the URL to "m.websitename.com" (even if I delete the m.) and then shows a message of "We are sorry, there is no such site.". I haven't found anything on iWeb about mobile sites, so I'm not sure why the mobile device won't just visit the normal site.

Contact your host's tech support and ask them if they have a redirect on the server.
Now that having a mobile version of your site is essential if you are in business, its usually set up as a sub domain with the prefix "m." or "mobile."
Most hosting services allow us to decide which method, if any, to use to direct mobile visitors to the appropriate version of the site. Some have obviously decided to do it for us using either .htaccess or a server side script!
Maybe you should leave it in place and take this as a strong hint to create a mobile compatible version of your site. It is possible to do this using iWeb if you think about it.

Trying to update payment information site won't work

I am trying to update my payment yet the site says that it is under maintenance or something like that. It says that it will be back soon and I should check later however I have no access to my music and I would like to get my premium membership back, if anyone could help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated. You cannot restore an iPhone that is not on the latest version if iOS. If you try it will first update to the latest version.

Two different laptops won't work.

Hi, I have two laptops not working. The first is a HP Envy m6. When I press the power button, it lights up, but then goes off. The second is a HP Pavilion dv7-4165dx. When I press the power button, it stays on, but the screen stays black. I have removed the battery on both of them, but nothing changes. Please help. Thank you.

Expedia Site won't work with my Mac

Hello all,
I know this topic/question has been posted before. I haven't seen any recent activity around it so I'm posting the question again.
I cannot get on Expedia.com with Safari, Mozilla and most recently, Camino. All tell me that I have an outdated version and to update. Oh yeah, I also tried Netscape.
I'm pending a response from Expedia (via my work Dell laptop) to see what they say.
Has anyone figured out a workaround for this?

Doing some research, I'm wondering if it's an SSL problem because I'm good with everything else they told me.
I don't currently have any certificates in my keychain.

Sites I visit most often won't work immediately after installing Leopard

Immediately after installing Leopard the three sites I visit most often won't pull up at all. They just show an error as if the MacBook isn't connected to the internet.
Other sites pull up fine.
These three sites I am trying to visit pull up fine on other computers.
These three sites won't work regardless of what wireless network I'm on.
The problem is exactly the same between Firefox and Safair.
What suggestions do you have or where can I start?

Figured it out. I have a program called SelfControl that helps block sites that you find yourself killing a lot of time on. Well after the update it appears that it was somehow activated and thus wouldn't allow those sites to come through. Unique problem.
All fixed now.

My preloader won't work in the latest version of IE.

I'm designing a site for a friend of mine who has just upgraded to the latest version of Internet Explorer. Now the preloader to load his site won't work, and it just stops on the number "0." Below is the code that I'm using. The code appears on the first keyframe and the site is on the second keyframe.

When my friend right clicks directly on the loader, he has the option to "play" flash, and the site loads. I'd like to find a more clean and elegant way for him to load his site.

Epson cx5400 won't work

I've an Epson CX 5400 AIO and my new MacBook Pro won't recognize any of the Epson printer drivers in the Printer setup utility. I tried reinstalling them from a Tiger DVD but they still aren't popping up under the USB printers. I know the printer is getting a little long in the tooth but it works like a champ. Downloading the Intel drivers from epson's site won't work as they are in an exe file. Any suggestions? If there's no hope for this printer, what AIO WILL work with the MacBook Pro? TIA

Answering my own question It appears the cx5400, being four years old, is not on the update list for Epson. I purchased a new cx4200 and it works fine with the MacBook Pro. Not the first time I've had printers go obsolete due to OS/hardware upgrades, probably won't be the last.
