QT Pro 7.6 image sequencing aperture exports - only reads first file

I'm exporting versions (jpg) of files that are originally Nikon raw (NEF) format.
I'm testing with a bunch of images that were grabbed using the camera's continuous mode - want to make sure the system works before doing any real playing with time lapse.
I have a folder with the images - all named image01.jpg, image02.jpg etc etc. No other files in the folder.
Open QT Pro 7.6 - choose Open Image Sequence and select the first image.
It asks for the frames per second.
Whatever i pick - it creates a single frame movie with the first image in the set.
I've tested with two different exports - same issue.
Any hints?

OK - tried this.
For a short test - I have 22 files.

Now - when they were called image01, image02 etc I got a 1sec movie with only the first image.
Now - with these names - I get a movie of the correct duration (so - for example - 2 frames a sec yields an 11 sec movie) but with only the first shot shown (in other words I get to see the first jpg for 11 secs in the 2/s example.
The file command tells me that they are "JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01"

  • Image Sequence...Cannot select multiple files for image sequence.

When I select Image Sequence in QT7 and navigate to the folder with the images, I am no longer able to select more then one image. Is the something that 10.6 has broken?
    What am I missing?

If you only get the first file to import then I suspect the image files are not all sized correctly or the file names are not being recognized as "sequential".
I've done some tests to confirm this on my machine. File names with some using a _ (underscore) and others using a - (hyphen) import only the highlighted file. In another test I mixed in a single file sized just one pixel wider than all of the others and only the first file is recognized.

  • Aperture doesn't read raw files

Aperture just stopped reading raw files. NOt all of them, just some. It says unsupported file format. Why is this happening, what can I do about it?

Aperture 2.0.1, camera Canon EOD 400D, OS 10.5.2.
The problem is it didn't happen before, it started happening today after I changed places of many files, exported the biggest part to the external drive and created new projects leaving some photos there and changing places. I don't know what I did wrong. It can't read only some files.
Same thing happened with Iphoto as well some time ago.

I have just bought a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. Aperture and Preview can't open the RAW files from this camera. Panasonic recommend downloading 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to save RAW file formats. How can Aperture and Preview read the files?

Either use 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to develope the RAW files and to save them in another lossless format like TIFF, or try if Adobe's free DNG Coverter can convert your Lumix RAW files to dng. Then import the dngs. This way, your files will still be RAW files.  This works (most times) for my Lumix FZ28.

  • QT Pro batch import of image sequences aand export of MOVs

I have multiple folders with sequentially numbered jpegs and I am trying to find some way to batch process (with QT Pro or Automator or some combination of any program, without paying a fortune) each folder to a MOV. For example, parent folder with 3 subfolders - is there a way to point QT Pro at the parent folder and have it create MOVs with specific export settings for each respective folder? I do know how to Open Image Sequence, choose frame rate, choose settings, export to MOV but I'd like to find a way to do it without having to choose the first image of each folder. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Check the frame rate in the Interpret Footage dialog box.

  • Image Sequences and Batch Processing: Can opening files from different folders as image sequences be set up as an action for batch processing?

I have an ongoing series of tasks that necessitates opening the contents of a series of folders as image sequences.
I'm used to setting up some fairly complex actions, including ones that are intended to be applied to all of the contents of materials in various subfolders, but for some reason I cannot get an Open-with-Image-Sequence-Checked action to set up in a way that will batch process correctly.
Complicating matters is that the file prefixes (i.e., the letters before the sequential numbers) and the folders will always have different names from the last time the process had to be carried out.
The steps I would like the action to carry out would be the following:
    1. Open Subfolder 1 - that is, Photoshop shouldn't be looking for a specific folder. It's just *any* subfolder to the current parent folder.
    2. Select first file in sequenced set of files.
    3. Open as an image sequence.
    4. Open Subfolder 2.
    5. Select first file in sequenced set of files.
    6. Open as an image sequence.
...rinse and repeat until Photoshop runs out of subfolders to check.
    Am I asking the impossible?
    Thanks!

I'll look around there,  because I had posted something about this and was told to look here ps-scripts - Browse /Image Processor Pro/v3_0 at SourceForge.net

  • Aperture won't read DNG files

I'm sure there's a simple solution I've missed, but Aperture 3 won't open DNG files converted from Olympus RAW (ORF). Any suggestions?
    Brian

Aperture 3.5.1 and the camera is the Olympus OM-D E-M5.
And yes, Aperture will convert the RAW/ORF files but the devil is in the details. And since you asked (sort of), here are the details:
I own and have happily used Photoshop CS4 for the layered compositing I like to do, but it won't support ORF files
I tried importing/converting them in Aperture then editing in PS4 ... but Aperture 3 and PS4 don't play together well, so many come back as "unsupported file format"
Apple can't fix the problem and Adobe no longer supports PS4... put another way, Apple can't do anythig but they care, and Adobe could do everything but they don't care
It got worse when I upgraded to Mavericks, so to get around that I had to upgrade to Photoshop CC and pay the monthly "rental"
Aperture and Photoshop now work, but the demands of running them both are beyond my aging iMac that can't be upgraded, so I have to buy a new one, but the monthly fee (which everybody assumes will only go up in cost)  + purchase of a new iMac for a guy on a fixed income are too much
So, I thought if I used DNG to convert the ORF files I could import them into Aperture for all the basics and organization, then use PS4 for the compositing... but Aperture won't read the DNG conversions.
And that, as the man used to say, is the name of that tune,

  • Lightroom 5.6 won't apply watermarks to my images when I export; Nikon D610 RAW files exporting in .jpg

I am working with .NEF files from a Nikon D610 in Lightroom 5.6.  When I go to export and choose add text watermark, the files are exported but the text watermark is not added.  Occasionally some of the images from the batch will have the watermark, but it will only be some, not all.  Anyone else run into this problem?

What is the file format you choose to export as? If it is ORIGINAL or DNG, you will not get watermarks.

  • How do you remove the number sequence when exporting layer comps to files? CS6. Windows 8.

    Hi
I remember in CS5 there was a script you could change, but I can't remember what it was called or where it was saved.  Can anyone help please?
I would like to stop Photoshop automatically adding a number prefix to exported layer comps.
    Thanks

So I've found a bit in the script that I think might be it (below).  Can I remove that whole bit?  Or would changing the 4 to a 0 do the trick (I tried and it didn't do anything)... Sorry, but I'm not a coder so don't really know if I'm barking up the wrong tree or not.
    Thanks

                    var duppedDocument = app.activeDocument.duplicate();
                    var fileNameBody = exportInfo.fileNamePrefix;
                    fileNameBody += "_" + zeroSuppress(compsIndex, 4);
                    fileNameBody += "_" + compRef.name;
                    if (null != compRef.comment)    fileNameBody += "_" + compRef.comment;
                    fileNameBody = fileNameBody.replace(/[:\/\\*\?\"\<\>\|\\\r\\\n]/g, "_");  // '/\:*?"<>|\r\n' -> '_'

  • Aperture can't read RAW files since update???

So I went to import the pictures from the holidays into Aperture yesterday and it wouldn't read the raw files. Aperture just keeps saying it's generating thumbnails. I shut it down, got on a plane and tried again today, same problem and even the photos previously imported and were fine aren't showing up properly. It just says "unsupported image format."
My last import was the last week of Novemeber.
Is anyone else having this problem since the 2.1.4 update??

    I encountered a similar problem - see thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2274871&tstart=0
Did you also do the latest MAc Os update - with the additional DIGITAL RAW compatibility update 2.7?
I did the APerture update a while ago and everything was working fine - it is only after I did the latest OS update that I encountered the same issue.

  • Kindle plugin export only converts one file

I am using InDesign 5.0. I installed the lastest version of the Kindle Plugin. I open all my individual indd book chapters (14 in all) and then create a book file which I save (and make sure the TOC styles are copied into the primary Style Source file). When I click the Export to Kindle option, the plugin only converts whatever single indd file I have selected in the window (however all are open in the window). Why is it not converting all 14 of my book chapters at once into one file? I am a new user of InDesign (less than a year) and maybe I am missing something that is so very obvious that I cannot see it -- if you know what I mean. :-) Can anyone explain to me the error of my ways? Thank you! ~ Carolyn

I'm afraid I'd only be guessing at this point. I don't do epub at all. I do know, however, that CS5.5 tends to work better than CS5, and CS6 better still.
One thing would be to make sure your CS5 is fully patched to the 7.0.4 update.

  • Image Sequence Import Fail

    Two questions:
#1 Is it possilbe to create a mark in a QuickTime movie that the playback will automatically stop on, and then resume on a click? Hoping to be able to put several stop points into one video track for control...
    #2 (the Subject question)
I followed the instructions from Apple Quicktime Help file (pasted below message) and attempted to create a Image Sequence.
Step by step followed along, and all I get is one frame, one still picture...
As I create the slide show I also don't get any options other than 29.97 for frame rate.
This a failed feature on Windows machines?
Tested on MacBook Pro, works great. I get all kinds of options for frame rate and the slide show works as its supposed to.
I am on QT 7.4.1 (QT says its up to date), Windows XP, using .jpeg images for the sequence.
I can easily do this in AfterEffects and get way more control, movement, and all that stuff, but I don't always need to be so fancy!
Thanks for any help anyone can give!
    DIRECTIONS:
Put all the graphic files you want to include in a folder.
Name each file with the same name followed by an increasing number; for example, "picture1," "picture2."
Most digital cameras number files automatically. The numbers must be increasing but don't have to be precisely sequential (for example, you could name the files "picture1," "picture5," "picture10," and so on).
In QuickTime Player, choose File > Open Image Sequence, and then select the first file.
Choose a frame rate (the number of frames displayed per second) from the Frame Rate pop-up menu.
Slideshows usually work best when slides are shown at 2 to 3 seconds per frame.
QuickTime Pro creates the movie, which shows each picture in sequence.
Choose File > Save to name and save the movie.

    Hi Brian,
In reference to the Import sequence Failing I want to say that I have the same problem.
It's a surprise because I've been using this feature lots of times with no problem BEFORE I re-installed windows and Quicktime two weeks ago. I think Quicktime came with an upgrade when I re-installed. But so did the nVidia drivers...
For the frame rate I noticed that there's scroll bar to the left of the 29.97 that is almost invisible. Check it. But this is no relief since I can't import anyway...
I'll keep looking and if I get a solution I'll post it.
    Cheers!
    Arno

  • Will the latest version of Quicktime Pro(for Vista) create a Lime Lapse from a .Mov file (from a video camera)

Will Quicktime Pro for Windows convert a .MOV file to a time lapse?
I have a six hour tripcoming up next weekend, and want turn a full length bullet cam video(native .MOV) of it into a time lapse to post.  I have found tons of info saying QuicktimePro will go from stills to time lapse, but only one reference to converting an existing 1080P .mov file into one.
Any and all help and or direction  will be greatly appreciated!

QuickTime Player Pro can open image sequences and export to an image sequence. This will create a series of still image files, sequentially named to a folder you create.
Open the video and choose Export from the File menu. In the next dialog window choose "Movie to Image Sequence" and then click the "Options" button. Here you set the "frame per second" and the file format (JPEG, PNG, etc.) and other options (like target file size or compression).
Set the FPS to one and one image file per second of video will be extracted and compressed. If your source was 30 fps then the first frame of the first second of the file will be saved. Set the fps to two and the first and fifteenth frame will be captured.
    Some words of cation:
Be sure to create a new folder prior to the export. You don't want hundreds (or thousands) of image files cluttering your desktop.
Edit the source file prior to export to get a "long" shot of the action. Scene breaks will look awkward when they are played at high speed.
Don't make a 1080 file export to image sequence. If your source is 1080 use the View menu to change it to "Half Size". These half size image files will help keep the file size down and help playback on older machines.
Now that you have your folder of images choose "import Image Sequence" from the file menu and set your fps rate back to the same as your source file.
You'll note that file size of your exported/imported project will probably be larger than your source file (and maybe too big to share on the Web). Export it again "Movie to QuickTime Movie" and choose H.264 video codec and set an "average" data rate. This should crunch the file five times smaller.

  • Final Cut Pro X Image Sequence Export missing frames per second option?

I am using the trial version of Final Cut Pro X.  I can export an image sequence but it will only allow me to do so at 30 frames per second -every single frame!
So a 10 min movie takes half an hour to export 20,000+ frames that no one on earth has time to look thru.
In my old Final Cut Express I was able to choose 1 or 2 frames per second, which was just right.
    What am I missing?
Do I need to buy Quicktime Pro or Compressor to allow me to export image sequences without exporting every frame?
Why would Apple even have an image sequence export if it only allows you to export every frame, or it that only in the trial version?
    Thank you

I found a free option for you, if you don't already have Compressor 4.
In FCPX create your movie. Then SHARE as a Master File.
Get MPEG Streamclip, which is a free app available here.
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
Drag your Master File into MPEG Streamclip.
In MPEG Streamclip, select FILE/EXPORT TO OTHER FORMATS.
    In FORMAT: choose IMAGE SEQUENCE
In OPTIONS, choose your frame rate.
