QT Pro 7- Unable to export to different formats

I recently purchased QT Pro 7 so I can convert .mov files to .avi or .wmv. I entered the serial number and it does show as QT Pro 7. Some of the so called features work such as full screen, but when I try to convert a .mov file, there are no options in Export - Save as file type. Any anwers? Had I known Apple did not support QuickTime, I would never have bought it and they won't refund my money.
PC Place   Windows XP   AMD Sempron 2800; 1 GB RAM: Web Trends PC-cillin Internet Security; WebRoot Spy Sweeper; Internet Explorer

Before QT Pro can export it must be able to play the file without any errors.
Open the file and choose "Export" from the File menu.
Pick from the "Export :" dialog one of the many different formats.
Click the "Options" button to change settings.
QuickTime Pro doesn't play (or export to) Windows Media Player formats.

  • Can I export in different formats at the same time?

Most of my pictures are in different formats. When I choose ones of different formats and then try and export them at the same time, I have to choose what format to put them in(TIFF, JPEG, etc.) Is there an option to export each one in it's original format or do they all have to be exported in one format of my choosing?
Maybe I just don't understand formats and how Aperture makes adjustments from Masters to Versions.
    Please help if you can.
    Thanks,
    Brian

i do all the time. Select the images you want to export and start to export. Once the export begins, select a second set of images and start to export. You can watch the exports through Activity Monitor under Window Menu.

  • Audio exporting in different format than what's set on timeline

I imported some long xdcam video files with two separate channels of audio. For some reason some of the files imported as stereo (which I wanted) and some imported as mono even though I never made any changes to my camera. When I put the clips on my timeline I switched all of them to 'stereo' format, but when I export the file as an H.264 quicktime movie, the audio reverts back to the way it was originally on the clips. The clips that imported as mono play as mono, and the ones that imported as stereo, play as stereo.
I've tried things like switching the project default audio to stereo and even surround sound, but nothing seems to be working and I'm really at a loss. All I want is for my whole quicktime video is to have stereo sound where channel 1 article comes out the left speaker and channel 2 audio comes out the right speaker.

Did that, there's audio on both channels. Channel one is audio from a headset microphone and channel two is audio from the shotgun mic on the camera. I should be more clear, when I play it back in the timeline, everything sounds the way I want it. The channel 1 audio is only coming out of the left speaker, the channel 2 audio is only coming out of the right speaker, which is what I want. When I export, some of the clips revert to dual mono and I can hear a mix of channel 1 and channel 2 coming out of both speakers.

  • Export into multiple formats in one single task

Ever so often I have to export the same files in various Formats, for example one client wants a small JPG in low quality for layout, a full size JPG in 100% Quality and a DNG in case they still have to make corrections before going to print.
To this day I have to start 3 individual exports to fulfill that task.
Besides the fact that it would be much more comfortable to combine the three into one export with different formats and seperate subfolders - doesn't it take much longer that way?
As the exports start at different times I assume  the RAW-files have to be loaded 3 times for each of the exports. Would make quite a difference if one has to export 600-700 images a day.

    +1 vote.

  • QT Pro - WHY will it not export as a different format?

Loaded up a Photo-JPEG file into Quicktime player.
It came off a Mac, so I need it as a 10 bit BlackMagic file.
Problem - Quicktime will not export the blasted thing.
It just sits there, on 0%, doing absolutely nothing.
    What am I doing wrong?
The file plays in QT Pro, yet it refuses to export a single frame.
This has - so far - been an appalling waste of money, as it simply refuses to even work most of the time.

Sounds like something is wrong with the QuickTime install or it may be permissions related to the directory you're reading from or exporting to.
I don't have any problems exporting to any format in my version 7 Pro on a PC.
You would probably want to export to DV Stream (.dv) or to AVI using DV codec. These files should be viewable in your PC software.
PHOTO-JPEG is a very old dependable codec that works on Mac's and PC's.
To "test" your Pro install you should make a ten second Image Sequence file and try exporting it to .dv or .avi (with DV codec).

  • I'm unable to export any slideshow from Iphoto 9.5.1?

After creating a slide show in the latest version of IPhoto with music attached, i am unable to export the slideshow as standard definition or high definition. The export progress bar pops up with a black screen but never moves or creates the show? Anyone have any ideas? I am on a Mac Pro on OS X 10.9.3.

Some folks have fixed this by reinstalling iPhoto:
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Premiere Pro CC - MPEG2-DVD export issues

I have two projects that I am attempting to export using MPEG2-DVD, both exports begin to playback correctly but about half way through the video begins cutting out, flashing white and and green, and then cuts to completely green. Also the sequence length is 25:18, and after export it is 18:05. Export preset for MPEG2-DVD was NTSC 23.976p Wide, nothing else changed. I also tried exporting with Media Encoder, with the same results.
Video was shot with Canon DSLR and GoPro at 24p. Project is to 23.976fps. Video effects added in sequence are Warp Stabilizer, Lumetri looks, Brightness & Contrast, and Three-Way Color Corrector. I disabled all effects, exported with same settings as before, video was at the same shortened length, but the white and green coloring is gone.
Any ideas of why the video effects might be distorting the color? And why the time is dropping from 25:18 to 18:05?

Any luck getting the green and white lines corrected? We broadcast on a local cable channel and our inserter requires MPEG-2 format. When we export in MPEG-2 format from Premier Pro though we get the green and white lines when broadcasting. Right now we're having to export it in a different format, and then use a separate program to convert it to MPEG-2.

  • IPhoto unable to export EXIF information correctly for photos with color filters

I have imported photos from my phone to iPhoto and noticed that some of the photos do not have EXIF information when exporting to other places or synced back to iPhone. When I am trying to view the photo in iPhoto, the date is correctly shown.
The date shown in the iPhone photo moment tab is the import date rather than the original date when the photos were taken.
When I am trying toview the photo in iPhoto, the date is correctly shown.
(for example: the photo was taken in Dec 1, 2012, imported to iPhoto in Nov 1, 2014, and synced back to iPhone.
the date shown in iPhone is Nov 1, 2014, the date shown in iPhoto is Dec 1, 2012.)
After further looking into the details of the photo, i have noticed that theses photos are taken with color filters in iPhone or bursting photos or panoramas.
(e.g a mono or fade filter choosed when taking photo in iPhone camera).
When choose " reveal in finder" option in iPhoto for these photos, there are two options : view original or modified.
the original files contain EXIF information and the modified files do not.
the original files show photo without color filter
the modified files shows photo with color filter, the modified photos are what the photos were contained in iPhone originally.
When exported syncing these photos, the modified files was exported/synced, however, no EXIF information was exported. photos only contains the creation date.
These resulted in a mess in the photo collection in my phone. photos were displayed in wrong order.
When i export these photo to another location for back up purposes, i choose "include all location information, name, keyword", only the modified photos were exported without any EXIF information.
The only way I found is reveal these photos in finder.
iPhoto seems unable to export/sync photos that are taken with color filters/ panorama photos/ bursting photos.
is there any way to solve this problem? Thank you!

i have just taken a photo with effects and imported to iPhoto, The EXIF can be exported. The problem is syncing.
I think this problem only happen to photo taken before iOS 8.
EXIF of photo with effects unable be synced back to iPhone.
Apple acknowledged that the new Photos.app in iOS 8 is handling edits differently, see:
iPhoto and Aperture don't have edits to photos you import from iOS 8 devices
In iOS 8 edited versions are stored in a different way from previously. And it looks like there is now a bug, that prevents the older edited versions from being handled correctly.

  • Apple Pro Res 422 HQ export - "render at max depth" and "24 bit or 48 bit depth"?

I'm exporting my 90 minute feature for DCP using the Apple Pro Res 422 HQ codec. The film is 1920x1080 and that is what the export will be. We used a variety of cameras (Canon 7D, Sony XR160, GoPro, Blackmagic in HD) for the film.
    For the export options:
Do I check "Render at Maximum Depth"?
Which do I choose - 24 bit or 48 bit depth? - one has to be chosen even when "Render at Maximum Depth" is unchecked
When I asked the DCP house, they said that "Render at Maximum Depth doesn't actually do anything when using this codec" and haven't answered the 24 vs. 48 bit question.
    This discussion:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/4529886#4529886
says that you "never need to enable the Max Render Quality (MRQ) unless you are exporting in a format/pixel ratio different from your original video."
    This discussion:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/5619144#5619144
adds insight into what 24 vs 48 bit depth means, but doesn't answer my specific question
    Thanks for your help.

A question for you - what is your workflow where you think you might need this? Keep in mind that the majority of cameras only record 8-bit color, and also in a very highly compressed format, so you won't necessarily gain anything by going to 4444, as the source video is of limited quality already.
Basically, if you don't have any high-bit-depth sources in your timeline to preserve the quality of, there may be little or no benefit to enabling "Max Depth".

  • Lync 2013 client - part of Office 2013 Pro Plus - unable to edit or remove picture, option is grayed out.

    Hi Team,
Lync 2013 client - part of Office 2013 Pro Plus - unable to edit or remove picture, option is grayed out.
Using Exchange 2010 Server and Lync 2010 Server at the back. To the best of my knowledge, this option is only available when using Exchange 2013 rather than Ex 2010.
Can somebody confirm this as I am not 100% sure about it.
    Appreciate your help. Thanks

    Hi,
The photo precedence in Lync 2013 is high-resolution photo from Exchange 2013 -> Photo from web address -> Active Directory photo. The "Edit or Remove Picture" button is available if you integrate Lync Server 2013 with Exchange 2013.
Since you are Lync server 2010 and Exchange 2010, you can choose the following two options:
The thumbnailPhoto attribute on the user's object in Active Directory Domain Services
A URL configured by the user

  • Unable to Export iMovie project in everyway I have attempted for the past 2 weeks. Please Help! Due date coming up!

I've unable to Export iMovie project in everyway I have attempted for the past 2 weeks.I have a late 2012 iMac with 8gb of RAM and 700 gb of free space on the hard drive. The video I am trying to export is 48 mins long with most of the source footage from a NIkon D3100 and several other cammcorders. I've been exporting with Apple Intermediate codec because that was the only one that has work so far but it only worked once and since then I have had to make changes to the project and now I'm unable to get it to work. For all Quicktime exports in H.264 or AIC (my prefered format for this export since I figured it'd offer the highest quality when I import it into Encore for making a dvd out of it) Which just stops exporting in the last few minutes without explination as to why or it crashes and quits. It either leaves a partial file or nothing at all. When I do "export movie" I get a "not enough memory Heap zone error"
I don't know what to do any help would be greatly appreciated!
By the way I happen to have Adobe CS6 Production Premium but didn't know how to use it as well when starting the project and now really regret not using it because it appears to be 10x more stable and capable of handling all the tasks I want it to do.

Are your event clips in h.264? If so, you can solve this by Right clicking on your Event Name and choose "Optimize Media". You can choose Full for 1080P or Large for 960P according to your preference.
After you have optimized your Event, you should be able to Share with no problem.

-108 mean you are running out of (free) RAM.
Try restarting the computer just prior to sharing. That frees up RAM.

    Final Entry
Ok - after much cutting, trial and error and days of work I have never really established a root cause for the -108 error. Nothing I did resolved the issue to the orginal project.
The only work around I have found is to split the Original Project into two.
What I found was that anything around the 60 mins mark and above just failed to render in HD and showed the -108 error.
What worked for me was creating two project files - one around 57mins long - the other a part 2 - around 17 mins long. All using exactly the same source clips, photo's, music and transitions as the orginal.
This now works. I guess having it split in two makes it a little easier to work with as I wont have to keep rendering the first part which does not change but really wish Apple would throw some light on this.
Anyway - I hope all of the above at least proves useful for others.
    Good Luck

  • "Error: Final Cut Pro was unable to read the movie file just captured"

    Hello everyone!
We had a computer crash while we were working on Final Cut Pro and backing up some media to a hard drive.
Since then, whenever we "capture' video footage and hit the escape key to stop capturing - we get -
"Error: Final Cut Pro was unable to read the movie file just captured"
We reinstalled the Final Cut Pro software all over again thinking that maybe the software got corrupted and we also rectified any disk permissions for the hard drives.
    Any ideas?

You eventually want to figure out how that happened and make sure you fix it.

You reformatted the external drive, yes? You might not have used the correct initialization setting. Should be Macintosh HFS, journalling is optional. Or you have a drive formatted for Winderz.
Aside from incorrect drive formatting, we have seen this error if the capture is incomplete or improperly terminated.
It's not an FCP issue, it's hardware.

  • 10.0.9 Unable to Export Timeline

I'm seeing a lot of discussion over this and have searched the forum. No definitive answer so I am reposting here.
Problem: If I try to export aka "share" my timeline FCPX will crash at some point. I have gotten then Error 1 message with an offending frame value but most of the time it just stalls and I get the spinning wheel. Shortly after this the computer will lock up (not kernel panic just all applications and Finder freeze - and cannot force quit) and I then have to manually restart the machine by holding down the power button.
I have had this issue on MULTIPLE projects using different media from MULTIPLE cameras, all of the Canon 5Dmk2/mk3 and 7D variety. The projects all use mulitcam clips created in the latest version of Plural Eyes 3.
I am running FCPX 10.0.9 under OS 10.8.5. All projects running off of firewire 800 drives. I have not updated to Mavericks yet as it appears this does not solve the problem. I have a MBP 3.06ghz intel core 2 duo with 8GB RAM and GPU enabled, not the neweset machine but works just fine for editing even without proxy media.
I am not using any proxy media.
I have deleted all render files.
    I have trashed prefs.
    I have repaired disk permission.
I have created a new user account.
    I have reinstalled FCPX.
I have checked for updates - there are no updates besides the new OS, FCPX and QT ProApp Codecs are up to date.
I have copy/pasted my project into a new project.
I have duplicated my project and events to a fresh drive.
I have hidden unused projects and events.
I have tried exporting using different codecs ProRes 422, 422 HQ, H264 etc. they all fail though at different points it seems.
**The only thing I have noticed that works is that if I go to a DIFFERENT MACHINE - either my iMac at the office or my friends MBP it renders out without any problem...** I cannot figure out what would be different about my machine after doing all of the above!
So, I am able to create and edit on the timeline but render it out on this machine. It will also crash when I try to "render all" on the timeline. The video is only 5 minutes long and contains no type or motion effects. No third party plugins are being used on the timeline.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have not done a witch hunt for bad frames as some suggest with ther error 1 message because I only have seen that message once and from what I am finding on the forums it doesn't seem to help much anyways and the issue seems to widespread. I am reluctant to update to Mavericks becuase I have not seen that it will solve the problem, just introduce "app nap" and possibly other issues.
Again I've tried about EVERYTHING as you can see and need to get this project off to the client, please if you have read the above and have any insight it would be massively appreciated.
    Thanks,

When I asked about codecs I was thinking of conflicts that FCP might have with one that would have been installed from a third party vendor…
It would seem to be something at the system level since all the user-specific fixes appear to have had no effect. And you've already tried a comprehensive list of the suggestions that I would have thought of…and probably more.
You didn't mention available disk space but I assume you checked that as well and you have at least 15% free on your start-up and media drives.
Has any version of FCPX performed for you as expected in the past?
When you uninstalled the app, by any chance did you use FCS Remover? If you didn't, give it a try.

  • Re-interpreted footage metadata is lost when moving Premiere Pro CC 2014 project file to different computer

    Hi guys,
I believe this is just a bug in Premiere Pro CC 2014 (and other versions in the past), but I wanted to make sure it was on the PP team's plate for the next update, since it's detrimental to a workflow that include more than one computer or more than one editor on a project.
My team shoots a lot of footage in slow-motion (for instance, 59.94 for 23.976). Premiere's process to conform this footage is great. Modify -> Interpret Footage -> Assume this frame rate: "23.976".
Unfortunately, when we move this project file to another system, even if we are using a hard-drive that is synced to have the exact same source media files with the exact same file structure, we lose the footage interpretation metadata. Premiere Pro CC thinks this footage is 59.94 again, and our sequences are in shambles. All clips where the interpretation metadata is lost have "zebra pin stripes" on them wherever they exist in our sequences.
We have to manually re-interpret the footage, and then sometimes manually re-select in and out points. This is a work-around that enables us to push forward, but it's a barrier that makes collaborative editing extremely challenging and opens up rampant possibility for error. It's hard to locate every clip we need to re-interpret in some of our more complex projects, and even harder to avoid re-interpreting the wrong clips.
Looking forward to a resolution to this problem.

Guys I solved my own problem - thought I'd share with you how in case anyone else is having this problem -
    I came across this thread
Premiere Pro CC error message and crash
    which had the suggestion -
"Do tou have after effects installed? If yes, please try to import the main sequence into it and then export it as premier pro project from file/export ootion and then try to open that in premiere pro."
This didn't work for me too but I did try and import my existing project into a new project and copy all the files over. Works fine now.
I don't know if I will have the same issue again tomorrow so I'm going to render out a super high res video before I close premiere just in case
