QT Pro crashes on export

I have a video (.mov format) filmed in a dark location that is difficult to see. I can adjust the A/V contrast/brightness settings to see the video on my computer, but when I try to upload the file online, the contrast/brightness settings don't carry over. I need to export the file with the contrast/brightness settings, and I'd like to also compress the file so it is emailable.
I bought Quicktime Pro specifically for this purpose, but it crashes every time I try to export the file. I just learned that QT Pro offers absolutely no telephone support. Grr. I tried on a Vista computer and on a non-Vista computer - same problem. I tried adjusting the "video" choice between 'safe mode (GDI only) and "direct X" in the "advanced" tab of QT preferences. I tried emptying the cache and increasing the size of the download cache. Nothing works. $30 down the drain?
Pasted below is information from the error code that I get. Since Apple is not offering any customer support for this issue (which a lot of people online seem to have also had), I'd really appreciate any advice!

Hi,
I too am having crashing issues.... and I too got no help from Apple. Just go to website they said... great!!?? Now I know why I never use these guys products!!!
However, rant over, I do have a need to use Quicktime.
I am trying to use Quicktime to convert quicktime movies to the new H.264 codec, a function available with Quicktime Pro.
However when I go to export window and then to the video setings window, quicktime just suddenly closes(not crash). I can go into the audio section though and change options in there. I have uninstalled and re-installed with no luck.
This is extremely frustrating
any help greatly appreciated

  • HELP!!!  Quicktime Pro crashes when exporting

I've had no problems until today. All of a sudden, when I export a movie from quicktime, it crashes when I click on "settings" of the codec. So I basically open the file, go to "File>Export" and click on "Options". I then click on "Settings" and boom...quicktime disappears with your usual windows error sound. Like I said, I've had no problems up till today so I don't know what I could of done to cause this. I'm running Quicktime Pro 7.2 on Windows XP Pro 64bit. I've tried uninstalling it and tried older versions...nothing seems to work. My Sorenson Squeeze software also will not load quicktimes which I believe is related to this problem. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you are having the same problem but I'm glad its just not me. I seriously don't know what I could have done to cause this. Some sort of bug or virus going around? I've heard of quicktime being hacked in the past by a worm which causes it to crash so I'm wondering if that's what's happening. It does suck you can't really call Apple about it.
Its becoming increasingly difficult these days to talk to a human about technical issues. If you do get one on the phone, its some support person getting paid min. wage who just puts you on hold forever as they look up your problem in a generic list of "help" files. I don't want knowledge base support...I want one on one support with a trained programmer who knows how to fix your problems!

  • QT Pro Crashes with "Export Controller" error when converting M2V to H.264

I am currently experiencing a problem with QT Pro for Win. Any time I try to convert a M2V file to an H.264 encoded .mp4 file, QT pro gets approx 10-16% complete with the conversion and then crashes. (This happens when trying to encode an 2hr SD M2V file taken from a DVD or a 1/2hr M2V HD file recorded via EyeTV, so the resolution/size isn’t an issue.) The error message is always that there was a “QT Export Controller error”. I do not get this kind of error when using the same files with QT Pro on my MacBook only on my windows box. I am running the most current version of QT. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

  • Premiere Pro crashing on export (windows)

    Hi all
I have looked into the solution to this problem on the forums and it seems to be a mac only problem. However I am using windows 7 64bit.
I go to export>media it thinks about it for a few seconds and then premiere freezes, 'stops working' and crashes to desktop.
The project is less than 2 minutes long with some minor color correction, contrast and a bit of text. It has repeatedly done it with this project while others export fine.
    Tech specs are:
    Premiere Pro CC
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 0 @ 2.GHz
    32 GB RAM
    AMD Firepro v5900
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

    Hi john
I have found what was causing the problem, an errent large .psd file had found its way into the project and was causing the crash.
Its now been resized and all is well.
    Thank you for your time

  • Premiere PRO Crashes when exporting to H264

I'm running Premiere Pro 6 on a Windows machine. I find if I export a sequence of over 30 mins length to H264, HD 1080i 25, it regularly crashes - I have the box marked 'Maximum Render Quality' ticked. Would appreciate any advice on how to prevent this!

It would be very helpful to know the full details of your computer, your Source Files, and your Sequence Settings. See this FAQ Entry for what info you should post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/961741?tstart=0

  • Premiere Pro Crashing During Export

    Hi,
I am getting the "Premiere Pro encountered a serious error" message in the middle of an export - over and over. I have tried rendering at 1080p and at 720p. My export gets to around the 1:20 mark (in my 4 minute sequence) and crashes. I have looked at the clip that it's on during crash. Nothing seems to be amiss and I'm able to render those frames for preview in PP. I have Denoiser II and Looks applied to this clip. But, I have Denoiser applied to all of my clips and I have Looks applied to many of them. Every clip up to this point in the sequence renders, no problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Crashes During Export

When using Export Media, Premiere crashes about 40-60% through the export process. I've tried messing with the settings for days now, and always the same result. This snapshot is probably the 10th-15th attempt at exporting.
    Here's what happens:
    Computer specifications:
    Operating System
              Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
    CPU

This is really aggrivating. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm having the same issue, though consistently at 6%, regardless of the project.
    Specs:  AMD FX6200 @ 3.8GHz
    16GB RAM
    Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD (OS/Apps)
    WD 1TB HDD (Data)
    GeForce 640GT (GDDR3)
    Win 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
This was working fine when I was running CS 5.5, but I bought the SSD, and bit the bullet did a clean install of everything and got CC since I was already using Photoshop CC.

  • Final cut pro crashes on Export Media

All other exports work fine on FCP except Export Media. It will crash the program every time.

have you tried with a very small project ?
if the small project works, you may have some corrupted images in it.
try trashing all the rendering files, and then rerender.
it worked for one file that I couldn't export.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC / Media Encoder CC Crashing On Export

    Hi,
I have a 1 hour project consisting of
    - iPhone 5 Video clips recorded at 1080p/30fps using app FilmicPro
    - Various Image files, imported as PSD's
    - WAV Sound files
    My Sequence Settings are:
    Export Settings are:
As you can tell by the file name, i already installed ALL updates.
I just installed a new graphics card (GTX 770) a few days ago, but these crashes were happening before i installed the card, and now after I've installed it, so it's not related at all (before i was just using my CPU (Intel HD 4600). (At the moment I have CUDA enabled).
    Full Specs
    - Windows 8.1 Pro
    - Adobe Premiere Pro 7.2.2
    - Adobe Media Encoder 7.2.2
    - Intel i7 4770k
    - 8GB RAM
    - NVidia GTX 770
The crashes always happen at the exact same place on both Premiere Export and Media Encoder, no idea what's causing it, I've played around with the settings and managed to export it a few times but not at the quality I want. If i render my entire sequence preview's first, and then export using preview files then it exports fine using MPEG Preview. Not exactly the format/quality I want though, if there is anything i have missed out then please ask, I do intend to check the boxes for Maximum Bit Depth and Maximum Render Quality
    P.S. I have already tried
    A) Clear Media Cache
    B) Reinstall Premiere/Media Encoder
    C) Change Location of Project Files
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Jay Singh,
Thanks for posting on Adobe forums.
Please try to check the resolution on the PSDs in the Project. and Make sure that the resolution should not exceed more than 1920*1080. This is could be the issue on crash on export.
Let us know if this will help.
    Happy Editing,

  • Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro

Media Encoder crashes when exporting from Premiere Pro. I am queueing multiple files for export and Media Encoder will crash. The computer system has 32GB of RAM and the videos export fine in Premiere, but that requires exporting each one individually. Each video file is being down converted and some can be quite long (upwards of 3-5 hours). Nothing else is running on the computer that would take up memory.
Any idea why Media Encoder will crash?

    Try turning off GPU acceleration.

  • What can I do to stop Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 from crashing when exporting?

Regardless of whether I have a new project file or an existing one, edits or no edits, whenever I click export, Premiere Pro simply crashes.  Same for Media Encoder - can't even open that one.  I have all of the latest CS6 updates installed, the computer is brand new as of two weeks ago - OSX 10.9.1, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB.  The only way I've been able to export is through a backdoor: I use the dynamic link in After Effects, then render out my sequences there.  Help?

  • Premiere Pro CS5 crashing when exporting (only certain file types)

    Hi
I have found that when I try and export media in Premiere Pro CS5, it often crashes during the export. It says
It's only certain file types. For instance, Vimeo HD seems okay but Vimeo SD always crashes mid-export. MPEG is okay too, but MPEG2-DVD always crashes.
Sometimes it says this: "Error Compiling Movie - Unknown Error" but doesn't throw me out of Premiere altogether.
Other times it crashes altogether and Windows gives me this error message: "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 258.96 stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Premiere Pro then stops responding so I have to re-open it and start exporting again.
I have checked there are no gaps in my timeline and I have rendered the whole work area. Besides, I doubt it's anything that I'm doing wrong with the project itself because it's exporting fine in some formats.
I am also experiencing random crashes when editing too. Not that often, but occasionally it throws me out - and twice it has made the whole screen go crazy, with weird dotting across the screen (it's scary, it looks like the monitor itself has broken!).
    Any help would be appreciated!

PS I have a pretty decent new PC - Dell Studio XPS, 8GB, 2x1TB drives, etc. Premiere itself is working great, except for these crashes.

Some drivers do not work well in some systems... so go to nVidia and try a different (usually newer) driver for your card

  • Premiere Pro 1.5 - crashing during exporting as movie

Premiere Pro 1.5 - been using successfully for years - same computer winXP - now it crashes (stops exporting) as making .avi.
Plus, when loading the program, keep getting prompt about a failed attempt to load ffdshow (not on white or black list?).   PLUS, sometimes program crashes when working with title editor.
I understand the custome rphone service is not available for the 1.5 version - again, been successfully using PP 1.5 for years - I've have change little on this computer ... other than xp updates.?
YES - I tried reinstall.   YES - I tried adobe updates.
    Help!

I have read other messages saying that ffdshow can cause problems... you might go to the search box back on the main page and enter ffdshow
I have also read that a corrupt font can cause problems, with the advice to use a font manager to remove/relink fonts to find the bad one

  • Premiere Pro CC crashing on export

Using a new iMac with 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB ram, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB.
I have read a lot of the forums but nothing has worked for me. Every time I try to export the video I am editing it crashes. However, when I transfer the files over to my macbook pro (which has only 8gb ram and a much worse video card) with premiere pro cc it exports fine. This is going to be a problem with my workflow if I have to constantly keep bringing the files onto my laptop.
    Please help.
