QT Pro freezes at "nitializing" when trying to export video files

I paid for QT Pro so I can convert avi's and dvd's to my iPod but I have not been able to convert anything so far.... Any hints??

If you can't play in the free QuickTime Player you can't export it using the Pro upgrade.
QuickTime Player can't even open CSS encrypted DVD's and third party software is required to convert even those that do not have encryption.

I am trying to play video files via Elements Organizer. In this case it is .MOV files. The new screen pops up but all I get is the sound and no video. I have downloaded the newest quicktime player but it did not help. Any ideas?

    Hi,
What happens when you play the same file outside Organizer?

  • Why is Premiere getting an error when trying to export .MXF files?

    Hello!
I have a video that I need to submit to DMDS and it must be a .mxf file. This is the first time I've ever had to export a .mxf so I am not too familiar with the type. I have been exporting every other type of file for years and never had an issue (H.264, quicktime, etc.). However, when I try exporting .mxf I get the generic rendering error which then stops the export.
The first time I tried, the video was down to 12 minutes left (after about 2 and a half hours) when I got the error.
The next time, it crashed right away with over 2 hours still remaining.
So it does not seem to be a corrupt clip because: A) I've been rendering this video out as other file types for rough previews, drafts, etc and it's worked fine and B) The 2 crash times were on opposite ends of the spectrum.
I am running an iMac with OSX 10.7.5, 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB ram...I am using Premiere Pro Version 6.0.0
I do have Third Party plug ins installed but have never had an issue exporting in the past, only with this .mxf file.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

If you have GPU accelertation enabled in Premiere Pro, try switching to Software Only.
Are you queuing the job to AME or clicking "Export" in the Export Settings dialog (which encodes directly through Premiere)? Whichever path you're going down, try the other one.
I'd also keep an eye on your resource usage, especially RAM, while encoding in progress. With 8GB of RAM, I'd be surprised if that were the problem.
Lastly, if you're encoding through AME, then you might want to post on that product's forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/ame

  • Program keeps crashing when trying to export video

I'm running off my motherboard GPU while my graphics card is getting repaired (should be here by next week).  I wanted to know why Premiere keeps shutting down when I'm trying to export.  Is it not supposed to be used without a dedicated graphics card?
I need to get a video project done by tomorrow and this is pretty annoying.

there are programs like core temp  to find out if the cpu is overheating.  prime95  will test your cpu/mbd/ram, but if you really want to test the ram its best to use memtest86.
using the h100 is good to help get the heat generated by the cpu out of the case, but still need to have good ventilation from a few case fans. if that cooler isn't working well enough, or its too much heat for the mbd, you can go into the bios and try to under-clock the cpu so it wont run so hot.  if you are using an underpowered or cheap power supply, it wont be able to deliver enough clean power to the system when its under demand.

  • Lightroom crashes when trying to export any files

When I try to export retouched files to hard drive files my Mac crashes and has to be force quitted. I thought this maybe a L'room 4 problem so I bought L'room 5 and it's still happening. What can I do?

Thank you very much for your reply.
You say I may not have enough resources and I wondered if I should tell you what I've got.
I'm on an Early 1998 Mac Pro with 2x2.8 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon processors with 2gb of ram.
I'm running it on OSX 10.8.4.
Would more memory help as I can't afford a new Mac.

  • In iPhoto I get "unable to render file for export" when trying to export a file to an SD card?

I have been trying to save jpg files to an SD card.  When I export from iPhoto is says "unable to render file for export".  It will let me export to the desktop.  Then when I try to copy or move to the SD card, it says the SD card does not have enought free space.  It's a 1 gig card and the files are under 100k.  I have tried different SD cards, formating the cards with the camera.  The card has 200 filles (57mb) when I started and wanted to add more.  I have ereased the card trying to see if that would help.  No go!  Any ideas?

What is the filesystem on that card?
i assume, you made sure that the little white lock mechanism at the side of the card is unlocked?
Try, if you can set the "Ignore ownership on this volume" flag for the card in the "Get Info" panel for the card.

  • QuickTime Pro 7.1 hangs when trying to export a movie.

    Hi There,
I just installed the Key for QuickTime Pro on my Win XP laptop. Now, whenever I try to export a movie, QT just hangs there, using 99% of the CPU. The buttons in the dialog box seems to be active (change appearance when I hover them) but clicling any of them (including OK or Cancel) does nothing. The only way out is to kill the QT task.
If I just click OK in the first export dialog, CPU usage jumps to 99% and hangs. If I select "Options" in the export dialog, the "options" dialog itself hangs and the CPU usage jumps to 99%.
I did not try all menu options but it looks like the hang and use 99% CPU is pretty general since I was attempting to do an "Update Existing Software..." From the help menu and QT hang there too. But I can open de preferences, set them and close them without problems though.
Looking in the Application even manager, this is the error reported:
"Hanging application QuickTimePlayer.exe, version 7.1.0.210, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000."
Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
I purchased QT Pro today because I need to convert a sequence of files into a movie. Right now I cannot do that.

Why not try updating your QuickTime software?
    Most current version is 7.4.1

  • FCPX gets stuck on 0% when trying to export video

    Hi.
Final Cut Pro will always get stuck at 0% when I try to export a video in the "Apple Devices" format. This just started happening recently. Is there any way I can get this to start working again?

Are you editing with H.264 natively?  FCPX will freeze on a "bad frame" in an h.264 cut (usually at the very beginning of the clip.) If you are editing H.264 natively, you can usually get FCPX to behave if you right click on your Event clips and Transcode > Optimized media. You should also trim off the bad frames (they are typically solid green) in the storyline.

  • ERROR -50 WHEN TRYING TO EXPORT VIDEO IN IMOVIE

I have made a video which goes for 3mins 56 seconds in imovie. I have a Mac Book Pro OSX version 10.7.4.  I have 8bg memory and a 500gb hardrive. i have 424.29gb of free space on the harddrive. I have just deleted a whole lot of old movie clips from my folders to clear up some space as i thought space might be an issue.
Every time i try to export this video by clicking Share>>>Export using Quicktime  it comes up with: UNABLE TO EXPORT MOVIE: The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (-50).
I have NO IDEA how to fix this. I have tried googling for answers but i could'nt find ay i understood or that helped me. I have tried restarting my laptop. quiting imovie and restarting it. I don't know how to fix this! I have made many movies on this program before and are usually longer than 3.56mins!
Can someone PLEASE help me.... It would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all here in the community. I was able to search through previous posts and find solutions to my iMovie output issues. I solved the write permission issue by turning off Time Machine and found that sharing to iTunes seems to create a more satsifactory quality output.

  • Error message when trying to export audio file to DVD

I recorded an interview on a portable voice recorder and transferred the data into Garage Band by connection of a cable connected to the headphone of the device to the speaker input in the Mac. Garage Band took the audio file. It is 1.5 GB. I did some minor editing and wanted to save the file onto a DVD. When I selected "share" to export song to the DVD, an error message came up stating that the file was over 2 GB, which it wasn't. The file was then broken in two and one part was "shared", but the same error message came up. I took the computer to the Apple store for the Genus to help me with, but he had the same problem. The only way that he was able to save the audio file to a DVD was to select the file and place the file on a blank DVD. However, it can only be listened on a computer with Garage Band. I intend to use my voice recorder again to interview people. How can I input the audio file in the Mac and have it saved on a DVD to be played on multiple devices?

    Hi ,
Could you please elaborate more about the issue ?What exactly are you trying to perform and how are you trying to do the same?

I would also like to know what OS do you work on ?

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 slows when dealing with larger video files

I'm having issues with Premiere Pro 2.0 slowing to a crawl and taking 60-90 seconds to come back to life when dealing with larger .avi's (8+ mins). When I try to play a clip on the timeline, drag the slider over said clip, or play from a title into said clip on the timeline, Premiere hangs. The clips on question are all rendered, and the peak file has been generated for each different clip has well. This is a new problem; the last time I was working with a larger clip (45+ mins, captured from a Hi-8 cam), I had no problems. Now, I experience this slow down with all longer clips, although I've only dealt with footage captured from a Hi-8 cam and also a mini-DV cam. This problem has made Premiere nearly unusable. I'm desperate at this point.
    System:
    CPU: P4 HT 2.4ghz
    Ram: 2x 1gb DDR
    Video: ATI Radeon 9000 Series
Scratch Disk: 250gb WD My Book - USB 2.0 (I suspect this might be part of the problem)
    OS: XP Pro SP2
I'm not on my machine right now, and I can definitely provide more information if needed.
    Thanks in advance.

Aside from some other issues, I found that USB was just not suited for editing to/from, and on a much faster machine, that you list.
FW-400 was only slightly better. It took FW-800, before I could actually use the externals for anything more than storage, i.e. no editing, just archiving.
    eSATA would be even better/faster.
Please see Harm's ARTICLES on hardware, before you begin investing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] Oops, I see that Harm DID link to his articles. Missed that. Still, it is worth mentioning again.
Also, as an aside, PrPro 2.0 has no problem on my workstation when working with several 2 hour DV-AVI's, even when these are edited to/from FW-800 externals.
