QT Pro/iTunes

I just upgraded to OX Tiger, iLife, and QT 7 Pro. I use to have QT Pro 6 and I was able to save movies from the internet. Now when I save and try to open a QT mpeg movie I get an ALERT that QT cannot open the file because its not a file that QT understands (-2048). Also when I open QT 7 player and try to see a movie trailer from the menu nothing happens but then iTunes lanches with the trailer information. I want the trailer to open in a separate window and I don't want to see it in my iTunes or for it to lanch. Does someone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Means they are going to mess up your iPhoto Library pictures database so it's unreadable by older versions of iPhoto on older OS X operating systems.
You have the choice to right click on the iPhoto Lbrary and inside is a folder called Origianls, use the Finder to Duplicate this folder, then move the OriginalsCopy out of the iPhoto Library folder and save it elsewhere.
I dont' think Apple will every intentionally touch the originals, however it's possible they could.

If you are using different Apple IDs for each device, this implies that you have different accounts on each. Unfortunately you cannot merge accounts or transfer content between them.
If all you wish to do is to use the account that you use on your MacBook Pro for your iPad, then you need to delete or sign out of your iTunes & app stores App on your iPad and then login again with your other account details. Obviously you will then no longer be able to use the purchases you have made from the account you have logged out of.

My Apple TV no longer sees my MacBook Pro / Itunes Library. Apple TV tells me to turn on Home Sharing on my computer, which I have.
Also:
1. All other ATV connections are working (Netflix, movie previews, etc.)
2. I have all the latest updates for ATV and Itunes
3. Home sharing is turned on for both ATV and MacBook Pro Itunes
4. I am correctly logged in to my Itunes account on both ATV, and Itunes on the MacBook Pro
5. Everything had been working perfectly for approximately one year until yesterday.
I'm not sure what to try next.

Thanks. I just closed Itunes, came back today to check it out and the pull down menu with "Computer" or "Apple TV" was inexplicably back again and everything now works. I had tried restarting Itunes, the modem, and router before with no luck. Anyway, it's magically working.

My macbook has also turned on home sharing, but the home computer does not show up. How exactly does home sharing work? Must you be in the same area to be able to use this feature or connected to the same network?

Please disregard. I figured it out. Answer for anyone else running into this problem: You have to turn off iTunes Match on both devices. Apparently, if you activate iTunes Match it deactivates your abiltiy to direct sync.

I have not yet downloaded the Yosemite update because it got horrible reviews and everyone I've talked to said their computer has gotten extra slow because of it so I was wondering if I need to download Yosemite so my iPhone will sync. I have tried turning my computer on and off, quitting and reopening iTunes, restarting my iPhone, and nothing has worked. I would really like to be able to transfer my music and ringtones etc. onto my phone.

You have told us you have iOS 8.1.2, and a non-current version of OS X Do you also have an old iTunes? Current is 12.0.1. I'm quite certain iTunes 12 is required to sync with iOS 8.
The current iPhoto version is 9.6. You are probably behind there as well, and that likely caused the first "photo ..." error. As you may know, iOS is changing its approach to managing photos in iOS 8, so I would imagine it would be important to be current with this application.

"To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store, choose Store > Authorize this computer".
Once I have followed instructions as above, this is what I see, "This computer is already authorised". Including this one, you have authorised one computer out of your 5 available."

Your iPad is going to show "Connect to iTunes" screen until you either set it up successfully or restore it. If you've already set your iPad up in the past, "Connect to iTunes" typically indicates the iPad is in Recovery Mode and you must restore it.

Instead of using Migration Assistant, the best way is to use the Target Disk Mode, so you will save headaches (Migration Assistant creates a new user with the transferred data).
To do this, just connect both Macs with the Thunderbolt cable, and then, start the MacBook Pro holding the T key, so a Thunderbolt or FireWire icon should appear on the display. After that, go to the iMac, open Finder, and the hard drive of the MacBook Pro will appear on the Finder sidebar as an external drive, under "Devices". You can't sync across accounts, so:
In Contacts select all the contacts (1 account at a time) and choose File>Export>vCard),
then on your wifes Air do the reverse, select File>Import.

I know that there are already a lot of discussions going on about these but nothing works for me.
MacBook Pro mid 2012:
MacOS 10.8.5 ---> new clean install
iTunes 11.1.1 ---> new clean install
iPhone 3Gs:
iOS 6.1.3 ---> new clean install
The problem:
The problem started after a clean Mountain Lion install on a new MacBook Pro.
Updated all applications an system.
Copied iTunes folder to new MacBook Pro.
Connected iPhone to sync with new MacBook Pro.
And ...
iTunes freeze during iPhone sync for the first time in many years whitout problems.
Some apps in iPhone are partly installed because of freeze.
When i delete them they appear again during next sync and then iTunes freezes again.
What i already have tried:
# Clean iOS install --> again and again
# Recover from older back-up --> again and again
# New user
# New iTunes install
# Delete iTunes preferences and cache
# Delete all apps
# Reset permissions on the user in repair center
# select: "Prevent ..., iPhones, ... from syncing automatically"
---> but when i connect the iPhone it start syncing automatically???
# and so on, and so on
All the rest is working like a beauty!
Please help, getting down and losing al lot of time.

It have taken me all day but it's solved!
During last sync on old MacBook Pro the new version of the iBook app was only synced partly.
That's why, when i was trying to sync on my new MacBook Pro, iTunes was freezing during sync.
Once i have synced my iPhone on the old MacBook Pro again, and iBook app was synced complete, this problem was fixed.

First of all, I live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Sometimes, I use a VPN to search on the web here. I purchased Toy Story 3 on my MacBook Pro 2011 OS/X - Lion through iTunes. I initially had trouble downloading it which may be due to being on and off the VPN but after a while it finally downloaded and shows up in my iTunes library on my MacBook.
Under my Apple ID account (which is the only Apple ID account I have), I look under purchase history and it shows that I paid for Toy Story which is where I got my Order # from. But if you go to the iTunes Store then to the Quick Links then click on Purchased, under all my Movies, it does NOT show Toy Story 3 as one of my movies.
Now when I go to my iPad (3rd gen.), Toy Story 3 does not show up under purchased movies (all or not on my iPad). It does not show up on my Apple TV as well. If I want to have Toy Story 3 on my iPad or Apple TV, then it says I have to purchase it again.
I have searched for help via Apple support communities but so far none of their solutions have worked for me. I have tried logging off iTunes & App Store on iPad and also shutting down the iPad. I also made sure that under iTunes Preferences>Store that iTunes in the Clouds purchases is checked. Can someone please help me with this? Your consideration is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.
Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by studios and different versions. Could you please explain?
I checked my purchased list in my purchase history under my account and there are no hidden items.
