QT7 and Filemaker Pro (7 or 8 advanced) Error on Windows
Hello out there
I have got a Filemaker database with Quicktime references in container-fields. When I open the file, i receive the following error:
"FileMaker Pro Advanced.exe hat ein Problem festgestellt und muss beendet werden.
AppName: filemaker pro advanced.exe AppVer: 8.0.1.295 ModName: quicktime.qts
ModVer: 6.5.2.10 Offset: 00005557"
I have tried everything i could figure out.
If anybody have the same problem with Filemaker, please let me know. And if you are working fine with QT-Audio in Filemaker, let me know as well.
On MAC, this problem doesn´t appear.

I have tried to download Adobe Reader 8.1.1 for Vista four times and get the Error 1935. Does anyone have a fix for this. I am now sitting

The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -
When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.

Leopard Mail and Filemaker pro - "Send Mail" is s-l-o-w
When I upgraded to Leopard, I began having a problem with the "Send Mail" function in Filemaker Pro, even after I upgraded to the latest version. Previously, sending mail with an attachment to 300 BCC addresses went very quickly - about 10 seconds. Since Leopard, I have begun seeing each address get loaded into the BCC line, an operation taking 20 minutes or more. Has anyone else seen this, and are there any suggestions on how to remedy it?
You might try this.
MAC Mail, for some reason, wants a DNS server setting in the network setup.
Under System Preferences, go to Network and add your DNS numbers for your ISP Server. Get the right numbers from your ISP. I did a search for "DNS" on the ATT/YAHOO member web site.
This fixes the slow checking and sending of mail....It also fixes problems where mail sends slow and may give Authentication errors.
I spent many hours on this and finally the answer was posted on this forum.
Public DNS servers are less likely to be changed. They have been tried and do work. Nobody knows why.

Final Cut Server and FileMaker Pro
Has anyone tried to import FileMaker Pro data into Final Cut Server? I have an FMP database with photos, video and audio files that I'd like to export to Final Cut Server along with the meta data and I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience with this.
It needs to be filled with RAM, and when running Pro Apps, in the faster graphics processor mode. Mail, etc. will likely run fine along side them. I'd not play games when rendering though.
When they don't run, they don't affect anything but disk space 60 gigs for it all including Templates... RAM is the key to running multiple apps on any given Mac.
Nice Mac too. I just saw one the other day for the first time. I love that new trackpad the most. It's likely a lot faster than my 2.3 laptop, and I can run all the apps at the same time no problem with it. But ya need to fill up the RAM. I like that it's so green.

Many thanks. If you're still not launching after your complete uninstall/reinstall, we'll go searching for old QuickTime componentry stashed in non-standard locations on the PC.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.) -
How to uninstall FileMaker Pro 10 in Lion?

Basically the uninstall consists in deleting the FileMaker Pro folder from the applications folder and also locating the "FileMaker Pro 10.0 Prefs" file to delete it as well. The path to locate this file according to the instructions is: <home>/Library/Preferences/FileMaker Preferences/ FileMaker Pro 10.0 Prefs
First of all I noticed that there is no longer a library folder for the users in the computer like previous versions of Mac OS X. The only one is under Macintosh HD and when I looked into the preferences folder there is no "FileMaker Pro 10.0 Prefs" file.
I did a spotlight search for this file and it doesn't seem to exist. What should I do? should I just delete the FileMaker Application folder and that's it or is there anything else I need to delete? Has lion integrated it to the app folder somehow?
Thanks for your help!William, thanks for your help! I found the folder and the file. Well the reason I would like to remove this file is because I want to install FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced upgrade. Now I checked with filemaker and they say that in order to upgrade you don't need to have a previous version of the program installed in order to correctly upgrade but you need to enter the old version serial number in order for the new version to work. If I don't uninstall filemaker Pro 10 before I install the new version i will have two versions of filemaker and two sets of preferences folders and I think that could turn messy.

Yesterday I updated my Itunes account and it stopped working. I tried installing itunes version 11.1.4 and once done it came back with 2 error messages MsvCR80.dll was not found and I tunes was not installed correctly Error 7 (windows error 126) I have removed Itunes completely and redownloaded several times with the same result. Is there an easy fix or can I download an older version of Itunes that works?
None of the solutions mentioned in this forum work for me. I've not ever had a problem with your software before. I installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times. No itunes directories exist. I've uninstalled everything labled Apple on my pc withe the same results. The problem is with your software not Windows.

I don't know where you even want to upload this software. The only way it can be downloaded to a device is through the iTunes store. Do you even know what you want to do? -

Ipads are geared towards media consumption, not so much creation.
Perhaps what you should have bought is a MacBook Air rather than an iPad. A Macbook Air is a fulll laptop, than runs a full MacOsx and can run File Maker Pro. -
I recently switched from a power pc (2004 I think) to a MacBook Pro, and had to upgrade so much. My old system was running Filemaker pro 7. I really need a good database program for my work (freelance/self-employed), and have forked out so much money on other programs, that I'm hoping I can find a freeware or shareware version of a good DB program to use that will work for me. Any suggestions? I am not that tech-savvy. Thanks.
Ditto on all those points. I recommend Carbon Copy Cloner to make a full bootable backup. Time Machine is NOT adequate, particularly for virtual machines.
After upgrading to Yosemite, make sure you do a repair permissions in disk utility....and be prepared for some 10.10 bugs (it's just now becoming stable). -
I attempted to send a bulk mailing from my Filemaker Pro 10 database. There were two bad addresses in the mix and mail continues to paint the attempts on my screen. I have force quit the program but when I open it again, it goes back into the loop and paints messages until the program crashes. How can I stop the emailing?
Start off by trying to reset the ipad. Press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time until the device powers down and you see the Apple logo.

Has anyone successfully accessed a FileMaker Pro DB file using the DB Connectivity Toolset? If so what ODBC setup et al was used? I currently have an application that uses an MS Access DB file and am considering migrating to using FileMaker Pro DB instead.

I upgraded from OSX10.5.8 to 10.9.1 but now my main application Filemaker pro 7 does not work and I get a message that it is not supported. Can someone advise or help?
FileMaker Pro 7 was released in 2004 so it is a PPC application, which means it will never run under Mavericks. Latest version of FileMaker is 13. Try a free trial version by downloading from here. See the Trial software area near the bottom.
