QTP automation and licensing

I'm doing a proof of concept for Flex Automation using QTP. Everything seemed to be going well until I replayed the test that I was working with. Halfway through the main data entry canvas I got a license error. I found out that we need a Flex 3 Professional license on my machine where QTP is installed. Since this is just a POC, I downloaded the 60 day free trial version of F3P earlier this week, and that made the error go away until today. All of a sudden at the end of my test script I'm getting the same license error. I can open Flex Professional without receiving a license error. I tried contacting customer service but they closed my case and since I reopened it 2 days ago, I haven't gotten any response. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

When using the automation functionality we have a built in limitation to only 20-30 steps of recording and playback without an FB Pro license. So to show a full-running demo of automation you would need to purchase FB Pro, the trial will not be enough.

I try to use FlexMonkey with my project but after 30 records I've this error message : "License not present. With the trial verison only limited records are allowed.". However, I bought the license for Flash Builder premium 4.5.
Maybe the problem is because I compile my project with flex builder 3.6?
Could you help me? I bought the license specially for using Flex monkey...

It's not a FlexMonkey problem. It's an automation license problem and I'm having the same problem on one of two Windows 7 64-bit machines. I've done all that I can find in the thread Re: Flex Automation API "Licensing Issue" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/834214 but to no avail. As Deepita suggested to confirm Premium status, network monitor is available. I originally installed the trial version of Flash Builder, even had Burrito on for a while.
Assuming it was some leftover file, I uninstalled every Adobe product Bought CS5.5 Master Collection. Installed, same thing. Then I uninstalled CS5.5 MC and made sure that I permanently deactivated as per the suggestion in another thread. No luck.
As per the above thread, I went looking for the following:
On Windows 7 and Vista, the license.properties file is located in: ..\ProgramData\Adobe\Flex
I modified that file's record for serial number (as it wasn't my sn for CS5.5) and had great hope.
I'm still limited to 20 automation actions, at which point it all stops. Solution?

We are doing QTP automation testing for our flex application. But after running all 30 tests it is showing License not present. with the trail version only limited replays are allowed. We are using flex sdk 3.5 and flash builder 4 plugin for eclipse. we are building our application using ant and we are deploying the application directly and testing it. Can any one tell Steps to resolve this issue...

You need to have valid premium license for Adobe. Only then it would work.

Crystal Reports 2008 - automation and scheduling

Hey there Crystal Reports experts... please answer this question:
I've been evaluating the Crystal Reports 2008 package (client package) and have been able to generate some nice summary reports form our SQL database using summary pages which have multiple (up to 4) embedded sub-reports in them. I think it's doing what I need it to, but my next hurdle is to automate the summary report for 100+ different customers of ours. The criteria which changes for each customer is a table value in each subreport as well as the date range for the data on the report. I also need to have the title in the report header of each customer, change to reflect the different customer name and date range.
Is there a way to automate this with the standard Crystal Reports 2008 version? I've found a few 3rd party applications online that take care of the Crystal Report automation and scheduling as well as conditional data selection at the same time... is that what I need to use if we don't have ther server version of Crystal, or can I automate it using just the standard 2008 client version??

Yes, you need the CR 2008 client license to create the reports and then the server license to distribute the reports.
CR Server 2008 is a single server reporting solution for distributing Crystal Reports only. BOE is a full BI server that can be scaled beyond a single server solution. In addition to just reporting it has other capabilities such as ad hoc query and analysis, dashboarding/scorecarding, etc.
CR Server 2008 currently does not include the "Publishing" functionality yet. Therefore, if you schedule the report to email, all users will see the exact same report. BOE XI 3.1 does have "Publishing" which lets you burst the report so that through a single schedule, each user only sees their slice of the data for that report. You can still use CR Server to accomplish something similar, but it would require you to setup an individual schedule per every customer where each schedule is configured to only return the appropriate data for that customer. This would require a little more effort to setup and maintain.

QTP Automation with Acrobat SDK

Hi,
I would like to verify the PDF content using HP Automation tool - QTP by opening the PDF and extracting the Text content from PDF.
I am trying the OLE style and using a series of commands, as described in many postings. The first one is:
CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
It throws error, saying "Cannot create ActiveX component"
From the Forums I found that it will not work with Adobe Reader and will work with Full Adobe Product with Adobe SDK.
Now I would like to know which version of Acrobat will have Acrobat SDK.
My Client already procured the below Acrobat Products.

How to Click/Get child object in the Datagrid through Row number and Column Number.

QTP is a testing automation tool, QTP is developed by HP. But as for as
the QTP Flex plugin is provoided by the ADOBE, there are lot of inbuild
function which are not available in the plugin, Eg Identifying Child

QTP Automation tool not recognizing LinkButton inside a DataGrid

Hi all,
I have been trying to generate automated script using QTP automation tool, to test my Flex application. I have a Custom DataGrid in which one of the column is a linkbutton. When I start my QTP recording and click on this linkbutton inside the datagrid, I see that this action is not being recorded or captured by the tool. I googled to see if anyone encountered a similar issue but had not luck with it,
Could anyone help me with this issue?

Is it working . Because I am facing the same kind of problem, When I did spy the data grid coloums are getting identified as label and I'm not able to do click operation.
I tryied using descriptive programming but still it is not identified.

QTP automation of flexlib

I am trying to automate flex using QTP. In my code, we have used Accordion container from google flexlib. While automating, I get the error saying the object below this Accordion container is not visible. I am not able to simulate the actions done on the container. Can anyone please help me in this area?

Just we are looking for automation of a Flex application using QTP, we found there are two options available for us
1. Static- we need to inlude the QTP automation libraries in the output swf file
2. Run Time Shared Libraries - We can access the automation libraries at run time, using this approach we dont need to include them in the output swf file, so the size of the output file will be smaller and performance also good, but here we dont have the RSL libraries available with the SDK distribution, if anyone have the compiled automation libraries for RSL usage, then that would help us.

Issue with CC 2014 applications asking me to login and license every time.

Having an issue with Creative Cloud 2014 application asking me to sign in and license the software every time i open them, the sign in works fine and allows me to use the product so why does it constantly ask me to log in every time I open Photoshop, inDesign etc.
I have tried the following -
Removing the OOBE folder and reinstalling the CC app but still not luck happens in both the admin account and standard user account where it will ask you to license the software everytime.
Found this http://www.urbansouldesign.co.uk/web-tips/adobe-creative-cloud-asking-for-serial-number/ but when changes made unable to open the apps at all and tells me they need to be reinstalled.
Remove the user from teams and re invited but problem still there after that too.
Signed in on another machine fine and licensed the software with no problems.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Deployment, integraion and licensing of mixed 10g editions

All,
Does anyone have experience in integrating various deployment types (Enterprise Edition, J2EE Only, Webcache Only) within a single infrastructure? Currently, we have the Enterprise Edition (EE) of AS 10g deployed across several Linux hosts.
We are seeking to expand our deployment of J2EE applications based on OC4J and are considering several additional hosts with clustered OC4J deployments. These hosts will leverage Single Sign On (SSO) and OID, but beyond that, we do not use much of the EE components (e.g. Discoverer, Reports, etc.). We are looking at J2EE Only deployments for these additional hosts and not using/licensing EE.
From a deployment, management and license perspective, there isn't much information regarding this situation. The various versions of AS 10g are described (EE, Standard and J2EE Only), but not how (or if) these versions can be integrated around a core EE deployment for purposes of SSO, OID and Metadata management.
I'm looking for any experience in this area, beyond sales speak.
