QTVR files not tumbling anymore w/ QT 7.1 standalone

I am still seing this problem with the latest player (7.1.5). Anyone encoutering the same problem - or even able to play any QTVR with the standalone player?
I have some QTVR files generated from a 3D app that won't tumble anymore w/ QT 7.1 standalone, however they do if I drag the file onto Internet Explorer. Bummer!
Here is a small 1Mb example file > http://www.damienf.ch/images/legocarQTVR_small.mov. Save it locally and try.
Or is there a hidden feature to make this work?

Thanks for solving my problem; the link you gave me solved my problems. Somehow the "enable plug-ins" box in the security pane of my Safari preferences had been unchecked. I don't know how this happened, I certainly didn't do it. Perhaps in all the reinstalling (inc. OS 10.4.9 Combo), the box was not checked and I didn't look at my Safari prefs after I reinstalled.
Well, as usual, the answer was something simple. Thanks again.

Some files not showing anymore in folders on smb-share (lc_ctype error)

I use a shared folder on my iMac for my work projects.
After the upgrade to Mavericks, I noticed that Dreamweaver CS 6 did not show all files and folders anymore in several projects.
This is on a Windows 7 machine.
The same thing happens when in FileZilla, so it's not a specific Dreamweaver issue.
When I go to a troubled folder in FileZilla I get this error (in Dutch):
"Een lokale bestandsnaam kon niet gedecodeerd worden. Zorg ervoor dat de LC_CTYPE (of LC_ALL)-omgevingsvariable juist is ingesteld. Totdat u het probleem oplost, kunnen er bestanden ontbreken in de bestandslijsten. Er zal geen waarschuwing meer getoond worden gedurende deze sessie."
Translation:
"A local file could not be decoded. Ensure that the LC_CTYPE (or LC_ALL) environment variable is set. Until you solve the problem, you are missing files in the file list. There will be no warning displayed during this session properly."
When I go to thew same folder in Windows Explorer all files are shown.
When I use Dreamweaver CS6 on the iMac no errors occur and every file just shows fine.
It seems it only occurs in random directories of the local files of website projects I maintain with Dreamweaver
If anyone ones how to fix this, I would realy REALY appreciate this.

Why are my mjpg files not streaming anymore going from version 36 to 37?

The video streams from my axis cameras on version 36 but on version 37 it gives a still image. When i refresh the page it returns the image as it was when i refreshed it but it does not stream anymore. I have updated all the plugins and if i downgrade to version 36 it works again.

.3gp files not playing anymore

I have two macs. One is a g4 duel with quicktime 7.0.1. I have been through all the problems with moving up and down versions with this computer. I also have an older g4. Both are running os 10.4.3. The older G4 has never had a problem with playing the .3gp files. The Dual use to play them but does not anymore. Quicktime will play the sound but not the picture.
Is there a quick fix for this problem

Ok, so I think you're going to want the stand alone projector if you want to be able to open the swf by double clicking. Just installing Flash Player will get you the plugin/active x control, but they won't be helpful unless you are viewing the swf's in a web browser.

Nikon D2X NEF Raw file not recognized anymore...??

Strange happenings...
My projects which contain new and older .NEF friles from the nikon D2X are no longer readable by Aperture - What gives?
I had been able to work them before, but not now... Haven;t used AA in a few weeks so not sure if the 10.4.5 update or some other component has gotten in the way or what... All software is up to date so if anyone has any clues, please feel free to let me know!

Even Stranger...
The problem appears to be gone...!
I loaded some new NEF test files to determine if the naming or IPTC info was potentially the problem - and it worked fine.
Then, I went to the libraries that were problematic yesterday, and I watched as unreadable grey squares, one by one, became visible and active again... Bizarre.
The machine wasn't even restarted ( it did have an overnite nap though...), the only thing that happened was that Aperture was shut down yesterday, and then reopened today, which I'm reasonably certain that I did yesterday as well.
I was going to run a permissions repair, but didn't need to, so that wasn;t it... I guess the program still has some instability that opening / closing seems to eventually address.
Solved? Not really, but working for now I guess...

Windows Audio Video files not accepted anymore?

For 6 years I've been saving videos in WAV format. Today I tried to combine two finished WAV files into a single video and once imported to APE4 half the clips are black.??? The finished video is half black. What gives. Doesn't APE work with WAV files anumore?

For us, it occurs when decoding WMV9 files. Not all uses of WMV decoding are affected, but I confirmed that when connecting the WMV decode DLL to a sample grabber for RGB32 video, the frames arrive black on top, so that points directly to decoding internals of the WMV Decode dll.
You can uninstall these windows updates to resolve your problem."
There are several threads on the problem that this Update is causing on the PrE and PrPro Forums, so one can get more details. So far, there is not another fix from either MS, or Adobe.

Spry files not linked anymore.

Hello.
I've recently put together a site in Dreamweaver. I've also transferred my site files to a new computer where I would like to have as the PC I will be doing the rest of the maintaining of the site. However, after transferring all files and importing my .ste file, my spry menu bar is not working. I feel that the "targeting" of the spry files is not right. Is there any way to re-link the menu to those spry files through the file browser or in the code itself?
I've also noticed that my site has a remote folder for some reason and this folder is where the spry files were located on the old PC. I feel this also could be causing problems as the folder it is in does not exist on the new PC. So any help would be appreciated. I would like to get rid of that remote folder and have my spry assets folder in my root folder and have the files targeted correctly. I would like very much to not have to remake the spry menu bar.

If you have transferred the files to newly named directories, there are two possiblities to rectify the linking issues.
Rename the new directories (folders) to what they were in the old situation or
Use Dreamweaver to find and replace the link to the new location.

I had purchased a logo almost a year ago, I have been using it over and over again to place onto of my product photos. The file is a png file and it use to sho up transparent but now it doesnt and I dont know why?????????? Can anyone help me????

Videos, Music files not appearing anymore on Zen media explorr for Creative Z

Until now my songs and videos always were visible on the Zen Media Explorer. Now when I am using my Zen I none of my videos show up but they still take up memory. Also, I am unable to add album art to any of my songs and when I to to the browse media section, none of my songs appear nor their albums, I can add songs but I can't change their album art. THe songs appear on the Zen but not on the Zen media esplorer on the computer, any way I can fix this?

I have been have the same problem. One difference I had was that the photo icon was not on the page in the media explore where you can chose what you want to see. I tried reinstalling the program since I believed some kind of virus was on my laptop and currpted the program but the attempts failed since i still can not see what is on the Zen from the Media Explorer.

I recently noticed that the apple software update fails sometimes witha Visual C++ runtime library error. Could it be this is somehow related to quicktime not running?
I tried to use the quicktime 'update' function and got this error:

I am trying to clear files from my computer. I have a bunch of .m4v protected files that will not delete. They are lectures from college that I do not need anymore and would like to delete them to make room on my computer.

Well, most of what we can tell you is already stated in the message you are getting. A phone can only sync with one library at a time. You have apparently synced your phone with a different iTunes library in the past, or changes have been made to this library so the phone no longer recognizes it as the library with which it was synced. To know which you will have to provide the information.
If you bought them using the AppleID you use with this phone it may simply be easier to re-download them directly to the phone rather than sync them, though you will want to resolve that issue at some point.

Network file sharing not working anymore - how do I reinstall samba?

First off, I should say that I’m a PC guy who’s trying to get used to his Mac and figure out how to make it do what he wants.
So I’ve been having lots of trouble with my Mac mini. I got it this past summer and had various problems. I’d thought I’d gotten them all sorted out until this latest issue.
Here’s a quick summary of what I want to end up with: the Mac mini is supposed to be my TV computer. I have 4 external hard drives connected to it. I need to be able to access and fully manipulate the external drives over the network from a PC.
Enabling the basic samba sharing was easy. I got that working beautifully, but I was only able to access my home directory, not the external hard drives. After investigating on the Internet, it seems that I learned just enough to screw everything up.
I found out that I needed to “just” edit my smb.conf file, but I couldn’t figure out how to find it. It seems I can only get to it via Terminal or something. So I looked for alternatives.
I found a guide on Mac sharing beyond the home directory (http://www.creativemac.com/2002/10_oct/tutorials/samba021007.htm) and installed the Samba Sharing preference pane (http://xamba.sourceforge.net/ssp/index.shtml). This gave me a preference pane with both a GUI and a text editor for the smb.conf file. Seemed like a dream come true. I was even able to specify all the shares I wanted. It seemed simply and easy.
I did run into some trouble when I installed it. I got a bunch of error messages about files not being in their default location or how files needed to be updated. I thought that I had fixed all that, though I couldn’t fix the message about how files needed to be updated.
The problem is that whenever I clicked on “Start”, the entire thing crashes. Further, not samha sharing doesn’t work at all anymore. I’ve tried using the built-in samba sharing that used to work fine, but that does nothing.
I’ve tried removing every trace I can fine of the Samba Sharing preference pane I installed, but that hasn’t changed anything either. When I reinstall it, all my old settings are still there, so there must be some files saved somewhere, but I can’t find them.
I also tried installing Sharepoints (http://www.hornware.com/sharepoints/), but that didn’t change anything either.
Currently, I can’t access the Mac from any PC. I can ping the Mac’s IP fine, but I can’t browse to it on the network nor can I go directly to it. I’m not even prompted to sign in, I just get a message that it’s not valid and I should check the address.
On the Mac, I can access the PC that’s on the same workgroup as it, but I can’t access any other workgroups (which I used to be able to do).
So… what do I do now? I can’t figure out how to reset everything and start over. Right now, I’d be happy with that. Then I can try dealing with the external shares again (and more carefully this time).

Unplug your printer from your HP and use ??built in Wi-Fi that your printer has?? a usb Wi-Fi printer dongle?? Return your wireless router and get {http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/} and share many usb devices over the wi-fi network (need a powered hub for more than one usb device)?? or go to a big box store ( saw one at staples ) and get a device that is designed for 2 computers to use one printer.
How it works; USB cables one from PC, one from Mac plug into this box then one usb cable comes out and plug into your printer. Looks like a " Y " connection when your done. ( PS: usb cables not supplied)

PS: I had your problem till I bought a Prof Biz color all in one from Minolta /Bizhub 20 and Network the printer. So many choices, I picked the oldest device and replaced it and glad i did.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
          Allow Plug-ins
Then click
          Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

Rpt-files do not function anymore after deploying to a different database

first: I use CR. 10.2.3600.0 and Asp.NET with Visual Studio 2005
I developed my reports against a Develepment-Database and everything worked fine.
Then, I published my Website with the reports.
Also I made a backup of my Develepment-Database to become the Productive-Database.
All pages of my website function well (database-queries etc.), but when I try to call one of my reports a queerish error message occurs:
"This field name is not known. Error in File C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\...\{...}.rpt: Error in formula. '{xyz.ds_id} = {?@ds_id} and '."
I mean, the database is the "same" as before?!?
(BTW: the logon to the database is set at runtime and is ok.)
Why do the reports not function anymore?
The only workaround I found is to open the report in Visual Studio 2005 again and select "Crystal Reports/Databases/Check Database" against the Productive-Database.
After that the report works! BUT THIS COULD NOT BE THE SOLUTION, this means that I cannot publish my website to a different database on a customers network!!!

I debugged the code and recognized that the error appears while setting the .Location property...?!?
My DatabaseName is "Rezepturverwaltung".
Example 1 with a command:
Befor setting the Location of mytable the value of the prpperty is e.g. "command".
After setting the value like in code above the value changes to "Rezepturverwaltung.dbo.command"
Example 2 with a stored procedure:
Befor setting the Location of mytable the value of the prpperty is e.g. "sp_GetData".
After setting the value like in code above the value changes to "Rezepturverwaltung.dbo.sp_GetData"
What`s going wrong furthermore???

Hi, please help with my issue which is as follows:
A file which was created and saved using Adobe Photoshop CS6 is not opening anymore and sends a message saying that the file is not compatible.
What should I do, I have invested so much in that file and I dont think i will be able to do it all over again.

That's why people do incremental saves and use backups... You could try to open the file in an image viewer like IrfanView and see which parts are salvagable, but that's as good as it gets most likely...
