Quad Question: DVDSP3 crashes after importing .m2v

Hello. Just got a Quad G-5, and trying to get DVD Studio Pro 3 to run. It runs good... until I try to import .m2v assets. If i try to move those assets into my track timeline, then the beach ball appears, DVDSP 3 kicks off, the screen retruns to my desktop, and I stare blankely at a pop window that says something to the like of "to send report, close, or restart app." (something like that)
So far, I've been able to mess around a little with templates (small things like change font or position of font). But the .m2v assets crash the program.
Would it matter if the assets were created from Compressor, but from a different machine using the same program?
Saw situations like this posted on the boards around June/July this past year. (can't seem to find info on it now, though).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library
this should help with the crashes - it may or may not help with the missing videos

Picture - broken/crash after Import

Hello, i have a Problem with my new MacBook Pro (NOT Retina) Mountain Lion and Aperture 3.3.2:
when i Import RAW Files fom a card reader some of the Pictures Crashes/break after Import (while Aperture is reading the JPG Infos). The Data File is distroyed.
(This problem is NOT with my MacPro2008 Mountain Lion and Aperture 3.3.2)
Does anyone have an Idea ??

Well, I did the third tape now with some breaks during importing. Each time I dragged all clips into timeline and saved the project. This worked, but each break will result in a short interruption that is not as the original tape was. I also would prefer to let the importing work during times I am not sitting at the computer, so I am still looking how to solve that problem.
Maybe it just is that iMovie can not handle more then 250 clips in the clip-list?
I know that the timeline handles more then that, because I was importing 2x60 minutes tapes before, with well over 300 clips in timeline.

Crash after import from camera

My iMovie HD 6.03 crashes always right after import of a complete tape (60 Minutes) from my camera.
I've done this 2 times before with 2 other tapes and completed it without problems. Now with the 3. tape I am stuck because of those crashes. I imported it 3 times and it happens always the same. I first thought it is because the external disk has to wake up when I get back to my desk some time after the import completed, but it happens the same when I import to internal disk and work with it immediately after the import finished.
The tape stops, all the clips (approx. 250) appear in the clip list. I "save" the document. Then as soon as I click into the clips list the spinnball appears for about 10 seconds and the program crashes.
Of course when I open iMovie again all the 250 imported clips are listed in the trash list, but dragging them into iMovie results in all the clips mixed up, I would need an hour to bring them into original order, therefore the trashlist is useless.
Also "saving" it before clicking anything that results in crash is useless, the imported files are not saved on place in the cliplist but always appear in the trash-list.
What else can I try?

2012 R2 DC crashes after import Root CA from 2008 R2 DC/CA (with same name)

Hello Everyone.
We migrate a Windows Server 2008 R2 DC with Root CA to an Windows Server 2012 R2 DC with same IP and Computername on a new VM. The Windows Server 2012 R2 works fine before we import the Root CA Information from a Backup (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee126140(v=ws.10).aspx)
After import the Root CA Information, we can´t rename any object, OU, user account, etc, whichever DC AD Users and Computers is pointing at, lsass.exe will crash and the DC will reboot after 60 seconds. Remove ADCS is no helping.
Depromote DC and removing ADDS, reboot... and promote the W12R2 to DC is the same Problem. Now we delete (properly) the Server and reinstall the W12R2 OS and promote the Server to DC. After
new install the rename any object works fine.
Does anyone have an idea? Any help would be appreciated!

Why the permiere pro cs5 keeps crashing after importing videos?

Hi, I'm working with the cs5.0 on the HP PAVILIONA1-PC and I'm trying to improt the 203MB avi flies for my client. The problem is that everytime that after I import the videos and bring into the source monitor, it just froze and crashes on me. Can someone help me, I have a deadline.

[Solved] Kdenlive & Openshot crash after importing video files

I'm not sure if the culprit is today's update, but I am having problems importing video files in Kdenlive and OpenShot. When I try to import .MTS / .MKV / .MP4 video files, both programs immediately cease to work.

PS CS6 trial crashes after importing huge image from scanner

Hi.
Here is my hardware:
   Macbook pro 4 GB DDR3 core i5 with plenty of HD space
   Epson V700 scanner (6400 dpi scanning capability)
My Software:
   Adobe CS6 trial
What I want to do:
   Scan a typical photo that is 6 by 6 inches at 6400 dpi as a bitmap, for utmost quality
What I tried:
   File -> Import -> Images from device -> then selected my scanner, set it to scan at 6400 dpi and save as a bitmap
My problem:
    When the scanner head is done scanning and the progress bar for scanning the image completes and moves to the next step (presumably writing the image to the file), PS crashes and gives me an error log. It is far too detailed for me. I have no problem scanning images at lower resolutions like 1200 dpi. But this scanner is capable of 6400 dpi and I want to take full advantage of it. I cannot use the scanner software that came with teh scanner because tech support told me the scanner software has a 1.something GB file limit size. They told me 3rd party software like PS should be able to scan unlimited file sizes.
   I suspect the file size migh be too large (16 GB)
My question:
   Is this a bug in the trial or something? Should PS be able to scan a 6 by 6 inch photo at 6400 dpi and save it as a bitmap?
Any 1st thoughts? I imagine it would be useful to upload the error log. I can do that if it is ok to do so

That's a bigger image than photoshop elements can handle (the pixel dimensions are roughly 38,400 x 38,400)
I suspect the problem in cs6 is more due to lack of ram on your machine (compared to the file size), but you should really ask about cs6 on the photoshop forum:

Also unless the photo is a slide or negative, you probably don't need to scan at max resolution.
Anyway for elements you'd need to reduce either the dpi or specify a smaller size than 6 x 6.
And then probaly scan (save) to your hard drive instead of scanning from within elements to a file format such as tif with compression if the scanner offers that option.
It depends on what your scanning, but for example i usually scan 35 mm slides at 4800 dpi (different scanner) at there default size (24mm x 36mm) and the file size is usually in the 200 to 300 mb range.

Crashing After Importing of ~11 minutes

People, please help out, to fix the problem
I have MacBook Pro, 2,16GHz - 2 GB Ram
i Have camera HDV 1080i, and if i import more than 10 minutes, right after 10-11 min (~ eight, nine gigas) the movie on display is turning off to blue-scree
but camera is going on to play recorded movie.
After i stop the movie import. The system starting to "FAN" with Mac's Colored Fan and it's not trying to send the report, it's Crashing
Please help out...

HDcontent gets converted automatically by iM into another comressor, Apple Intermediate Codec.
that is a process of high computation....
a) maybe, just the displaying can not follow the import any more, so it is switched off...
b) maybe, your MacBook is not able to handle HDimports of more then 10min in s single block..
due to that "non distructive" feature of iMovie, I wouldn't import whole tapes, but just the parts I need for editing; and I would allow iM to do shorter clips (if a scene gets segemented into two parts - don't worry, you don't see the cut... we had that same procedure with iM1,2,3,4....)
besides: miniDV needs ~13GB per hour, HD much more... PLUS you should leave "some" (10 -15GB) disk space free, to make System and apps work smooth...

DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3 crashes when import m2v files...please help me

All of a sudden, DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3. doesn't like any of my m2v files created by Compressor 2.0.1
these are the same m2v files I imported and burned into DVDs a couple months ago...and any new m2v files I create with Compressor...cause DVD Studio Pro to crash
DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3 will import old m2v files that I created a couple years ago using DVD Studio Pro 2 - and any new audio files created with Compressor and quicktime files from Final Cut Pro 5.
I have 1.5 GB of RAM...my drives are not too full...this was all working fine until recently and I can't see what has changed.

You can't download for the upgrade 4.1 is the Universal Binary and only part of the entire studio

Premiere Pro CC crash after importing Media

Hello,
I'm using the trial version of Premiere Pro CC. I've used it for this week without any problem importing just pictures.
Today I've imported videos and suddenly it started to crush after each importation. Now I can't import even pictures anymore.
I've checked on the forum and I've noticed that sometimes the problem is fixed just changing from General and change the GPU Acceleration to Mercury Playback Engine (software only), but it doesn't work for me.

Premiere pro keeps crashing after importing files

I've been trying to import the sample bald eagle file you supply to help learn with this new Premiere editing program, and am trying to use the sample file (which didn't include audio btw), but every time try to import them, your program (Premiere Pro CC) keeps crashing on me.

Question: iphoto crashes with importing iphone 5 photos

Question: If I import photos from my iPhone5 iPhoto will crash. When I restart and reopen iPhoto I am told X number of photos did not import do I wish to reimport or disregard. If I try to reimport it will crash again.
I have an imac;
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
MacOsX 10.7.5.
iPhoto 11 version 9.4.3 (720.91)
I have tried rebuilding the iPhoto database but it still crashes.
I have created a new test library just to try importing the photos from my iPhone, that works.
I have also reinstall my iphoto but it still crashes.
I have the latest crash log showing iPhoto crashing, I can upload parts of these if people tell me which parts are useful.
Please, help me.

That indicates that your original library is the culprit and needs to be repaired. Since you tried repairing it with iPhoto try the following:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
and select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Flash 8 crash after import

Hi!
I have a serious problem. I make some siple projects with
Captivate (about 5 slides), and want to import to Flash 8. I make a
new Flash file save it and than try to import the CP project. The
import settings dialog opens, I press OK then it looks like the
import is done, but when the process bar disappears the Flash quits
without any error message.
After that I must reboot and try again and maybe it finishes
succcessfully.
Have somebody any solution for this problem?

i'm having the same issue on one machine, but not on others.
it's really vexing, though, because:
1. my main production machine is running xp x64, which
captivate won't run on.
2. my laptop is running xp pro, but i can't export to flash
(the crash).
super annoying, this.
anyone from the dev team reading this? please fix your
installer and this problem.
