Qualifications in Appraisal catalog

Hi,
1. Is it a good practice to add the qualifications in the appraisal catalog? or is it better to record appraisals and qualifications separately?
2. Assuming that qualifications are added in the appraisal, then  i have got generic qualifications as well as job (or department) specific qualifications. (our qualifications are basically like competencies, e.g, Office administration-generic or applicant handling-job specific)
While i can add the generic competencies in the appraisal model, but because of the job specific competencies i would probally need to define a diffrent appraisal model for each dept. (PSG in my case). Is that the right approach? 
3. Also, SAP allows to add a criteria under a qualification in the Appraisal Catalog. What is the purpose of this? Can someone please explain with an example? I would assume the qualification itself can be rated and there shouldn't be a need to add a criteria under it.

1. I think it is a good way to use qualifications in appraisal form. Because most of the firms' performance appraisal system is including a qualification part. When the qualifications are appraised in form the results of the final appraisal column can be added to appraisee's qualification infotype(0024) automatically. There will be no need to maintain the info type manually again.
2. You can customize the forms by using badis.  If you use Free Enhancement - Add Requirements of Position and maintain the required links (such as every position must have an job and each job's requirements are defined.) you can see only the appraisee's job's requirements in the form.

    i have a question for the qualification(infotype 0024) and appraisal (infotype 0025) in PA here.
    After I maintained qualification for infotype 0024, i found that, when i go into appraisal(0025), the screen automaticlly switched to qualification(0024).
    As i known, i have already done the configurations for the appraisal, but all the appraisal criterira didn't show in info type 0025.
    Anyone knows how to deactivate the link between qualification and appraisal?

  • Performance Management - Appraisal Catalog - Status Flow Tab

    Good afternoon experts,
    So I am configuring a performance template (object type VA) and I noticed on the tab, "status flow" that there is a section at the bottom called "Status Change: Description"
    Has anyone used this field before, so for example, if you are configuring the status flow from "In Planning" to "In Review" you have the option of maintaining this field.
    Whenever I try to use it, I get a critical error message (An unexpected technical error has occurred), and phap_catalog_pa exits back to the SAP Easy Access screen.  Any thoughts on this?

    First of all I would suggest to run report RHHAP_CUSTOMIZING_CHECK to check your configuration, it might help identify the issue.
    The reason for the error message could also be, that no valid object id could be assigned to the criterion due to the definition of the number range.
    Please see table NRIV (or transaction SNRO) for number range object RP_PLAN: As no specific subgroup is defined for object type 'VC' (criterion), the entry for subgroup $$$$ is taken to determine the next valid number. The internal number range for subgroup '$$$$' is defined with the interval 'From number' 50000000 'to number' 50000099.
    However as you can check in table PLOGI, all those numbers are used already for existing criterions. So there is no number free in the defined interval, which can be assigned internally to the new object.
    For the criterion group (object type VB) the same interval is used,but here some IDs are still free to be used for object type VB in this interval.
    So the recommendation is to enhance the number range interval.You could either enhance the existing interval for subgroup $$$$, or create specific ones for object types VC, VB etc.(see notes 81458 and 87865.)
    Check as well your relationships, in a previous message I worked on the problem was with missing relationships in table T777Z
    and T777E.

  • Qualification Catalog Additional Attributes OOQA

    Is there a method to provided additional attributes on a qualification within the catalog? It appears that the text description is our only option.
    We would like to have some additional attributes, such as a link to a web page of our regulation standards for the individual qualifications.

    You're right, when you implement additional attributes on the TREX, the value of the attributes is broken into parts, where each part contains not more than 64 characters, which are separated by a special character( in between them.
    This can be eliminated by the implementation of an SNote - 1005135 - Replication problems when pcat text exceeds 128 characters.
    However, as Sateesh has rightly said, maintaining each additional attribute as an additional text type in the PCAT_ITM or PCAT_HDR text objects is a better solution in terms of data maintenance and consistency. Further, you must plan the introduction of these additional attributes, as each addition would require an initial replication of the product catalog.

    There are following table that will accessed by T code SM34.

    and to create the template use the tcode OOAM.
    There are some t codes which is used in appraisal

    We have some questions in relation to the requirements:
    - Is there any documentation on the use of columns like OBJH, OBJB, QBJ7, QBJ8 etc. How to identify which column best suits our need?
    - Depending on the situation, one EE may have 5 areas (criteria groups in SAP) to work on this year whereas the other EE may have 3. Does SAP allow the ability to add one row at a time for each criteria group?
    - There is a requirment that once the manager completes the EE appraisal in MSS, it should be available to the Manager's Manager and HR Dept for final
    approval. How should we approch this requirement?
    - Does SAP allow the ability to display the appraisal form in various tabs like one tab each for "Competency", one for "Goals", etc. OR does it all have to be on one long form?
    - There is a need wherein an employee can choose from various development plan for the current year. The development plans (about 25 in number) are like "Conflict Management", "Decision Quality" etc. One EE can have 4 developement plans whereas the other may have 8 plans for the same year. We thought of adding the development plans as qualifications in Qual. catalog and then link it in Appraisal template.
    Is this the best way to approch the requirement? If so, how do we link the qualifications to appraisal template? If not, what other options can be explored?

  • Appraisal Template Query

    Hi all,
    I have created the Appraisal template using the config node Edit Appraisal catalog in SPRO and released the template. But when Iu2019m trying to use that template using T.code  PHAP_CREATE or APPCREATE, it is giving as No template found. I have activated all integrations switches (Appraisals and qualifications).
    Please let me know is there any additional steps need to be setup?

    Use transaction phap_catalog_pa and check whether your template is found there or not.
    if not create it there release it and retry to create document (phap_create).

    Qualification and competency terms refer to the same thing and can be used interchangably.
    Qualifications -conceptually- are knowledge, skills and abilities (of a personnel/applicant or a requirement for a job/vacancy)
    Criteria groups are used to group  the criteria -that are the basis for appraisal- under appraisal catalog.
    Criteria is nothing but the plural form of criterion.
    2) What is the relationship or differences between these terms?
    Skills are some small group of qualifications.
    3) How they come to use in Personnel development and Appraisals (OSA)?
    First qualification catalog (via OOQA) and Appraisal catalog (via OOAM) are maintained.
    Then they are assigned to personnel/applicant/job/position (one of many ways is PPPM)
    Another usage of Qualifications is that they can be set as Criteria .
    4) What is their order / dependency in configuration?
    First develop the catalogs.
    Then make the assignments to personnel/applicant/job/position, etc.

    I want to create appraisal feed back form or template in training & event management, where attendee can appraise the business event and instructor vis-a-versa.
    My query is that-----
    When I go to IMG node called appraisal under Training & event management node and click on appraisal catalog (t-code OOAM) than only one category group (personnel appraisal) is available however, I can create appraisal category and appraisal template under business event group for TEM appraisal.
    Pls do let me know the steps to create the business event and attendee category group.
    In integration table t77s0 I have set the following integration.
    HAP00 REPLA set to A
    SEMIN EVAPA is set to 3
    AEMIN EVAEV is set to 2

    I am getting an informational message ( select the business event) while booking the attendee to business event through t code PV00.
    when I execute the t code PV00 than I found only business event type field instead of business event than why this message is displaying.
    Due to that message I am not able to book attendee to business event.

    The function terminates.
    ProcedureCheck whether the entered objects and keys are correct.
    Then check in the Implementation Guide whether the object was created correctly.
    Correct the object definition or the entry for the Transport Organizer interface.

    the requirement is, every person have his own criteria or ojective, no specific catalogue we can make
    so client demanding to have option to type the criteria of employees manually while creating the appraisal rather than have it in appraisal cataloge.

    while creating appraisal of employee they can type, system is allowing..but weighting column is in display mode, so user can't entr any value in it......our client demanding it a open enterable column.

    I have a requirement to switch or migrate from the OLD appraisal system to the NEW appraisal system (MBO).
    Does anyone have any information of the implications of switching the value of REPLA in T77SO from blank to 'A' or 'X' when the old appraisal system is already configured previously and is to be replaced by the new appraisal system with similar business requirements?
    There is an existing appraisal catalog configured for the old appraisal system. How do I migrate the Appraisal Models in the Appraisal Catalog of the OLD Appraisal system to the NEW Appraisal Catalog in MBO?
    I have not been able to find much information with regards to this. Therefore, many thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light or provide some references to this matter.

    It was planned to use the switch to replace the appraisal functionality in only one of the applications; technically it's turned out, this was not possible.
    For using the usual functionality for appraisals in training and event management (TEM), HAP00 REPLA has to be set to space.
    All other settings: X, T, A will cause problems.The reason is that many transactions of TEM delegate work to the central appraisal component and there the swith to MBO functionality is done (in the case X, T and A).
    It is however possible to use MBO functionality for personnel appraisals. The transactions of MBO have to be used 'directly'.
    These transactions are not part of the menu but can be added to the favorites list.

    There is no recommended way to load historical appraisal data. You will have to write a customer-specific program for this purpose.
    It depends on your specific requirements whether you really need the data in R/3. For example, if you need the data for reporting, it may be easier to load the legacy data directly into BW. If you need them for program logic, e.g. to default values for new appraisals, you could consider loading the data into a customer table and read that table in your implementation of an appropriate user exit.

  • [TEM] Creation of Multi - Lingual Appraisal Models

    Hi Experts! (Zsolt? )
    We need Multi- Language Appraisal models so that end-user in the ESS portal can choose what language they prefer during maintenance of appraisal form for BEs.
    In our Appraisal Catalog, there are already created identical Appraisal Models but in different languages. In English and in German.
    When I assign Appraisal models in PP01 to BETs, I can only choose 1 of these Appraisal Model (English or German). So the Appraisal model that appears in the Portal can only be English or German depending on what you've assigned to the BETs in PP01. Users cannot choose whether they prefer appraisals in English or German.
    We are trying to implement a functionality where users can choose the language they want.
    How do I do this? Does it involve customization of the Appraisals Catalog table.

    Hi Olekan,
    to do the assignment with several Appraisal models to one BET is not this easy thing. Let me explain you why:
    You can assign to one BET two different app. models ->
    > BE appraisal
    > Attendee appraisal
    These are related to the BET with different relationships. The point now is that you can assign with PE transasction (PVD0) ONLY ONE APP.MODEL TO ONE BET WITH THE SAME RELATIONSHIP.
    Theoretically you can do more by changing the Time constraint of this relationship. I think you will be able than to assign more App. Model in PP01  after changed the Time constr. BUT THIS IS NOT A PE TRANSACTION. Whether the application will enable you to choose from these realted objects while running it is not sure. This is a design issue, that the PD transaction (PP01) and the PE transaction (PVD0) don't have the same logic.
    I can show you another example to understand my point of view:
    if you create a Web-link to the Event in PE transaction while creating an event you are able only attaching one link. BUT if you do maintaining in Change modus on the event in PP01 you will be able to assign more Web-links..
    In this case the situation works, you are able to page between the links later, the multi-assignment is accepted by the app.
    Please check whether in our case the app. accepts the multi assignment with PP01 and whether you are able to show on ESS portal side the option to choose.
