Qualify as a student

I am a postgraduate student who is studying for a masters at university. Under the student eligibility it states that to qualify a you need to be enrolled on a course that takes a minimum of two years full study to complete. However, as I am enrolled full time at University, there must be a way I can qualify for the student discount? Any advice?

All I can find is Acrobat Pro: http://www.adobe.com/education/products/acrobatpro.edu.html
Maybe you should ask in the Acrobat forum.

  • How do I qualify for a Student Discount?

    Hello,
I'm currently studying Interactive Media at my college in the UK, and was wondering how would I qualify for a student discount?
Because I went to this link http://store.apple.com/uk/mac/education and the college that I go to isn't there, and I could really do with a more powerful laptop.
Hope to here from you soon,

We are not Apple, just end-usrs like you so cannot speak with authrity about Apple policies.  However this Apple site covers educational purchases. Links therein will show terms and conditions:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/findyourschool
That is from the US store. If that does not answer the question for a UK user, open the UK Apple Store and enter "educational" in the search window. One hit should be "Educational discounts."

  • Does a teacher and student who are homeschooling qualify for the student and teacher pricing?

Trying to determine if a student and teacher who are homeschooling qualify for the student and teacher rate.

I believe the school/institution has to be one approved by Adobe.  See the following page for some basic criteria:

It does address homeschooling - Homeschool — defined by state homeschooling regulations

Clearly, anyone aged 14 must be going through some kind of educational process, and therefore his age alone should qualify him for student editions.

  • Help! Info needed on how to qualify for Student Licence for CS4

Hi, I'm after some info which I just can't seem to find on the web! Exactly what kind of student do you need to be to qualify for a Student Edition in the UK? Do you need to be doing a degree or can you just enroll on a part time course at a local college of higher education (say an 18 week, part time course in Web Design which I am very interested in doing). I read somewhere that you had to be doing a degree of at least 2 years in length, but then somewhere else I came across someone who activated their Photoshop software by just doing a short course (in nursing - their full time occupation!). Please can anyone clarify how long/what type of course is the bare minimum in order to enable you to qualify as a student? Thanks!

  • Can I use the Lightroom 5 Upgrade on a Lightroom 4.4 Student and Teacher edition?

    Hi there,
I currently own a Lightroom 4 Student&Teacher edition. I am pretty happy with it, but thinking about upgrading to the 7D Mark II which is not supported by Lightroom. I am only a student for a very short while longer so I either have to buy a LR 5 Student&Teacher now (which could be a close call due to my student status running out in two weeks) or buy the upgrade version later. (They pretty much cost the same) But I don't know if my version of Lightroom can be upgraded. I do remember there used to be limitations in place not letting you upgrade, but as far as I remember this was a Photoshop limitation. Couldn't find any hard facts about this however, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Manu

To be clear, you only need to qualify as a student to purchase your initial version of Lightroom. Once you have that serial number that begins with 1160, you qualify to purchase any and all upgrades in the future at the upgrade price. If Lightroom 4 is still installed on the computer, then the upgrade installer will find the Lightroom 4 serial number and you will only be required to provide the new serial number for the upgrade. If you decide to purchase a new computer, which will probably happen at some point in the future, then Lightroom 4 will not have been installed and you will need both the Lightroom 4 serial number as well as the serial number for the upgrade installation.
We see a lot of people coming to the forums and say that they no longer have their serial number and want to install Lightroom on a new computer. Serial numbers are critical, and should be recorded in multiple places. One of the best ways to make sure that you can always access your serial numbers is to register your software after it has been installed. Then you can always access your Adobe account and retrieve required serial numbers. But as a safeguard, it would be a good idea to store serial number files on multiple hard drives and even in a physical card file. Without the serial numbers, it's like having a new car and no key to start it.

  • What are the qualifications for student deposit of $125, not $400?

I live in Minnesota, go to the U here. Two of my friends activated a few weeks ago and they got to deposit only $125, but when I went to the store I was required to deposit $400. My friends and I have exactly the same status (international students, F-1 visa). I explained my friends' deposit, asked why I don't qualify for the student deposit, and the clerk didn't know the reason. I am so frustrated right now, how come I don't qualify for the reduced deposit?

It's all up to the credit department. I don't know how they decide this.

  • Where to upload Student Record INFO for discount?

I just bought lightroom 5 but there is no where i can upload my student ID and records. Before purchasing lightroom 5, I called a rep and they said once i purchase Lightroom 5 i will be able to then upload my student records. I cant find where i can upload my student records so i can get the student discount.
    Please help.

If you purchased a download of Lightroom there should have been an e-mail with instructions on how to verify that you qualify for the student discount. If you purchased a boxed version there should've been a card with instructions telling you how to submit the information.

  • Do I need to purchase Office 365 A3 plan for faculty to get free Office 365 ProPlus for students in Office 365?

    Hi there
Our school has A2 plan for both students and faculty. We recently contacted our reseller and placed an order for free  Office 365 ProPlus A for our students. We received an acknowledgement from Microsoft regarding this order saying that it was successfull
and I can see the license added when I log into the VLSC website. Problem is, I can't see this licence listed when I log into Office 365 admin. It is not listed under subscriptions or licenses. Apologize for my ignorance, but I don't know how can I get this
license added in Office 365 so that our students can start using editable versions of office apps on their IPADs. Do we need to purchase Office 365 A3 plan for our staff to get this student's license enabled in Office 365? Can somebody please help?

I have similar questions concerning getting started with the Student Advantage program offering.
I've read the blog posts and made as many as 5 calls to Office 365 and still do not understand how to get this going.
We have a subscription to Education A2 for both faculty and students that we started in January 2014.  We receive this at no charge.  So I'm starting with a subscription at no cost.  I do not have an Education Reseller because we started our
subscription through the website with a trial and had that converted to the no cost A2 plan.
When I am in the portal and look under 'Purchase Services' I can see the option to add Office ProPlus for Faculty at $2.00/user/month and for Office ProPlus for Students at $1.50/user/month.  My understanding of Student Advantage is that if I license
all my faculty/staff accounts for Office ProPlus I would then get the Student access at no charge.  So I've licensed the Office ProPlus for Faculty for all of our faculty accounts yet I cannot get a clear answer about how to get the Student accounts added
    at no cost.
I most recently was told by Office 365 support that I needed to speak to a reseller, which I did today.  He told me that I would need to do one of two things.
    1. Upgrade my no cost A2 faculty accounts to A3.  Which for me and what I see in the portal would take them from $0 to $4.50/user/month.  With that A3 for faculty I would get the Office ProPlus for the Students accounts on A2 at no charge.
    2. I would need an Open Value license covering all school FTEs for Office at a cost of about $29/user/year.
Both of these options are higher than licensing all Faculty accounts for Office ProPlus via the portal at $2/user/month which I have already done.
So I don't understand why that doesn't qualify us for Student Advantage and now have to license all FTE, most of whom don't even touch a computer, for Office.

  • Student CC For Child

    Hello,
My son, who is a 7th grader and is 13, has shown interest in photo and video apps.  I currently own individual products of Premiere and Photoshop Elements 11, which I am fine with and have been using for awhile now.
Would I be eligible to sign him up to get student pricing for the Student CC?  Would he need his own account, or would that be on mine?  We use a macbook and a PC, so like to use both depending on what he's doing.
How would I go about this?  Create his own account and verify through there?  I really am hoping I don't have to manage multiple accounts, but want to know the proper way to do this should we decide to move forward, or I'll make him "suffer" with an older version.
    Thanks ! !

    Hi Frank,
To see the requirements for purchasing Educational versions of Adobe software, visit the Adobe Education Store.
You can find this and additional information:
    Am I eligible?
To qualify for a student discount, you must be at least 13 years of age and enrolled in one of the following:
    • University or college — accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two years of full-time study*
    • Primary or secondary school — accredited public or private primary or secondary school providing full-time instruction*
    • Homeschool — defined by state homeschooling regulations
    How do I purchase?
The best way to purchase is directly from Adobe through our website or by calling 800-585-0774. You can also find Adobe Student and Teacher Editions through many campus bookstores and other online retailers. See the “Online stores” section.
At checkout, you’ll need to provide the name of your school and indicate whether you are a student, educator, or administrator.
    What is proof of eligibility?
Use a school-issued email address: If you provide a school-issued email address during purchase you are instantly verified. (A school email address may include .edu, .k12, or other email domains sponsored by educational institutions.) If you do not have a school-issued email address or your email address cannot be verified, additional proof of eligibility may be requested after purchase.

  • Lightroom 4 - Registering Student & Teacher Edition

I need to register and obtain a password for Adobe Photoshop Lightroon 4 - Student Teacher Edition for my step-son (DOB: 23 Nov 1995), however the instructions given with the software are not clear to me about how I should do this.  I have an electronic copy of his Student Card.  Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the information about registering Lightroom 4: student edition.  I did eventually manage to work it out myself, however the information provided by Adobe was very confusing. Regards

Packaged with the student/teacher edition is a little yellow card.  On that card there's a web site referred to.  When you go to that website you will be asked to provide certain information to verify that you qualify for the student/teacher edition and discount.  When that is verified you'll be asked to enter the code included with your Lightroom package.  It looks like a standard serial number.  After that number has been verified, along with all of the other information you are asked to provide, you will receive an e-mail with your serial number that you use to activate Lightroom.

  • Student Version of Photoshop CS6?

Can my 8th grade son qualify for the student version? If so, what credentials does he have to show, and how does he show it. He does not have a student email.  He goes to Sandpoint Middle School in Sandpoint Idaho?  He has student body card and report card.

Loug1234 I would recommend reviewing Education FAQ - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html.  It has information, depending on your region, regarding what is required to be eligible.

Adobe's educational licenses have never been upgradeable. Typically they're sold at a great discount. You probaboy can buy new full educational licenses at educational discounts, if you qualify as a student or educator.
Adobe's recent, perpetual license upgrades - such as, to Photoshop CS6 - have accepted a student license as a qualifying product. Not the suite license since that is a completely different product, but student versions of Photoshop.
That acted as the affordable entry point, for people who might manage a commercial upgrade, but not an initial commercial-price purchase at many hundreds of dollars. Otherwise these people were never realistically going to become commercial software users, so were never going to contribute any real revenue to Adobe going forward within the perpetual license model.
The Cloud offerings can now be considered as the affordable entry point instead, IMO, given that they don't involve any large lump-sum purchase at the start. You can be up and running, for the expenditure of your first monthly payment only. Even a year's commitment is much cheaper than buying a perpetual license, and comparable to buying a commercial upgrade under the perpetual license model.
So, a person who does not possess any commercial license for the software, only an academic one, is only disadvantaged in that they fail to get this discounted membership.
But AFAICT this discounted membership is given on the strength of having in the past shelled out a lot of money buying a perpetual license. Someone who has not done that, IMO should not feel aggrieved at missing out on this particular discount.
It is specifically not aimed at them. I read it as a goodwill gesture / incentive / sop to other people, who have got to this point much more expensively, than this hypothetical student will have done.
