hi Gurus,
As i am learning qm module for result recording of qualitative part i maintain this step
1 - Use transaction QS51 to create selected set
2 - Use transaction QS41 to create catlog
3- Use transaction QS23 to change master inspection characterstics to assign the created catalog
but when i am going to qa32 screen it , it show me an in specification colomn (number of non conformence unit ) and in inspected tab there are no drag down option come here which i maintained
Please suggest where i am going wrong and what corrective action should be taken

QS41 where youy can create Code group.,then their you can define codes
For qualatitive MIC when you enter t code QS41 select option Catlog--Charectristic attribute ,oress enter
In next screen click on new entries ,give code gr name ,discription .press enter ,
Select same code group double click on codes where you can define codes.
Then go in QS51 It is plant level ,again give plant number ,catlog 1 ,enter.
press new entry give here selected set name ,discription ,released
Enter .
Select same line item double click on selected code where you can select different codes from different code group.

Title 3D render qualities vary

I am experiencing inconsistent render qualities in text titles within the same FCP 4.5 sequence. All my titles are created using Boris Title 3D, which is bundled with FCP. Some rendered titles are crisp and sharp, while others randomly are soft and blurry, (not aliased, as others have complained).
This is showing up not only on an NTSC video monitor, but also on the final encoded DVD on a video monitor.
All the titles are rendered with RT set to Safe and Video Playback Quality set to High. FCP 4.5 does not have sequence render settings of Fastest vs. Best, so I can not experiment with that.
None of the titles are sized in the sequence. They are all the original size as created in Text 3D. No filters are added to the titles.
The sequence is DV-NTSC, which I have heard already degrades the quality of text renders, but does not explain the variations. I have also tried a posted suggestion of copy/pasting the entire contents of the sequence to an uncompressed 8-bit sequence and re-rendering. The variations in quality remain.
I read in another thread that "Export Using Compressor" will give better results after encoding as this "uses an uncompressed image buffer for encoding any rendered material, which should give better results than the DV renders." If this is the case, I would like some confirmation on this before spending the 18 hours it takes to encode this lengthy show to MPEG-2.
Has anyone else experienced this random alternation between some title renders being sharp and others being soft in the same sequence?

When you place the titles and size them Never do so from the Motion tab. Rather use the controls of the title in the Controls tab. Also view externally on a video monitor when you're doing this, because DV and titles really don't get along very well, but you'll find that just raising or lowering a single line will cause the softness to become MUCH sharper. Experiment with this, and you'll see what I'm talking about. move them up or down and watch the phenomenon.
Once you place titles from Title 3D, and then go to the motion tab to move them, they become bit mapped graphics, and not vector based, and thus lose quality.
You can resize them in the Controls tab too. don't expand them with the Motion tab for the reasons outlined above. I usually use the "distance" slider to grow or shrink them as I watch this in the Canvas. Use the crosshair "center" button to drag them around the screen once composed in the text entry window.

Same material with Different qualities

Dear Experts,
Please give me the solution for mentioned issue ....
I have to maintain the same material which has different qualities (grades) and according to these qualities, the material rate is different. i have near about 50 different qualities for the same material and 50 different rates.
My every vendor is supplying this material for 50 different qualities and rates. So in this case to maintain the individual material prices is big challenge.
If i will maintain Info records, i have to maintain 200000 info record. and also there is possibility of price change for every three months.
So please give me any other alternative solution for the problem.

Purchasing:-
1. MATERIAL MASTER
Create Material with material type as HALB Transaction code MM01
Enter Material code as ZMAL.
Select the following views Basic data1, Basic data2, Purchasing, MRP1, Storage1, Storage2, Accounting1, Accounting2, Costing1, Costing2.
Basic Data1 Select General Item Category Group as 0002
Basic Data2 Activate the field Material Configurable
Remaining fields data is as applicable.
2. VENDOR MASTER
Create Vendor Master Transaction code XK01
Enter Vendor code as ZVEN
3. Classification Characteristics
Create Characteristics Transaction code CT04
Characteristics created as
i) ZMALCOLOURRED after entering the description click on the tab Addnl data & then fill up the data in Table name = MMCOM & Field name = VKOND then save the characteristic.
ii) ZMALCOLOURBLUE enter the description & save the data, do not enter any data on Addnl data tab strip.
Save the data
4. Classification
Create Class as ZMALCLASS Transaction code CL01
Class as ZMALCLASS, Class Type as 300
Assign the above two characteristics ZMALCOLOURRED & ZMALCOLOURBLUE to class ZMALCLASS.
Save the data
5. Configuration Profile
Create Configuration Profile Transaction code CU41
Enter the material code as ZMAL,
on the next screen enter Priority 10, Profile Name ZMALPROFILE, Class 300. Select the line & click on the push button Class Assignment, assign the class ZMALCLASS come back to main screen
Select the profile line item & click on the Profile Detail
then click on the push button dependency assignment
on the screen input dependency as ZMALDEPENDANCY &
then click on the push button Dependency editor
input the syntax as

save data
6. Pricing Procedure ( SPRO )
Pricing condition types like VA00 - Variants/Quantity & VA01 Variants % is included in the pricing procedure with following settings

Click on the push button Variant Configuration In the pop-up window input the variant condition.
Select the line & click on push button choose the pop-up window will display the two condition VA00 & VA01, select the relevant condition, click on choose then save the data.
Input all other relevant data for creation of vendor info record
8. Purchase Order
Create Purchase Order Transaction Code ME21N.
Input all relevant like Vendor, Material, PO quantity, price etc.
Select the Material Data tab strip in Item & click on the push button configuration the characteristic of variant configuration will appear input the required value,
Go to the condition tab you will find variant configuration condition has appeared in pricing condition.
Save the purchase order.

Decimal places for qualitative characterstics in inspection lot

i have lot quantity with decimal (i.e 2.5 Ltr),and lot is generated for 01 type inspection type,But we have assigned MIC's as qualitative characterstics,While result recording the MIC's are either accepted are rejected,for this in RRecording,I am entering the quantity 1.5Ltr Accepted and 1Ltr Rejected ,But system not allows me to enter Decimal places.
Now My question is why system not accepted the quantity but lot Quantity is in Decimal.
I know for qualitative character is attribute,it cannot accept the Decimal places,But we have assinged an inspection point to generate a rejection leter for above quanity. The Rej Letter fetches the data from resul recording.
can give any suggestion to enter decimal places in Resul recording.

Now My question is why system not accepted the quantity but lot Quantity is in Decimal.
In simple words Lot Qty is derived in inspection lot from the PO or GR qty whereas sample Qty or individual sample Qty is derived from the sampling procedure attached to a individual char.
Now As you rightly understood that for attribute char you really can not enter the decimal.what can be done is as you wrote >"the Rej Letter fetches the data from result recording">you can make the enhancement in the Letter fetching data like 1.5Ltr Accepted and 1Ltr Rejected
or
make enhancement & update table with User Exit :---->QEEM0003 User exit: add. functions after valuating insp. characs

Tables for Quantitative and Qualitative charecteristic

I have a query as follows:
In case of u201CQuality Inspection Planu201D we didnu2019t maintain the u2018Master Inspection Characteristicsu2019 BUT we use to maintain it by selecting the qualitative and Quantitative check box in u2018Inspection Characteristicu2019 screen.
we want to fetch the report of existing Characteristic to know whether the defined characteristic is qualitative Or quantative.
The Input will be: Material and Plant.
Out put will be: Material, Plant, Characteristic Number, Qualitative OR Quantative
Is there any table or any way such that I can get the information whether the characteristic is Qualitative OR Quantative?

While creating the MIcs you have two options whether you go with the check box selction for qualitative or quantitative or go with control data preset indicators selction which will be sam as of that particular check Box.
For that preset indicators or control key in MICs Check Table TQ27

When you inactive or archive something it is no longer available for selection.   The difference between inactive and archive is that inactive items will still appear available for searching purposes while archive items will not.
So lets say you have the following:
List A
   - Item 1
   - Item 2
List Items
If you were to inactivate Item 1, end users would no longer see it available for selection when using the qualitative extended attribute. However when they search for specs based on the extended attribute they would still be able to select Item 1 so they could find objects that used that value. If you were to archive Item 1, end users should no longer see it available for selection anywhere - including searching.
Lists
If you were to inactive or archive the entire List A, you would no longer see it available for selection when setting up qualitative lookup extended attributes.   I don't think there is anywhere you can search for extended attributes by lookup list currently out of the box so these would act similar. If there was a place to search for extended attributes by lookup list then it would follow the same rules as above.

Decimal place for qualitative characterstics

i have lot with 01 inspection type ,quantity 1.5 Litres,its a qualitative MIC with classed recording ,while result recording for this
quantity to be Accepted are rejected and partialy accepted,while entering the values i.e 1.5 its giving a error that is no decimal places are allowed,i checked all the Base units its all in Litres,how i overcome this type issue,

Yes system behaves as per setting you have done
1.You have selected Qualitative Char ,it means you should enter "accepted or rejected" etc.
but you have entered 1.5 this is a "Quantitative Value"
2.So You have make this char as "Quantitative" ,select the upper limit ,lower limit ,base value along with decimal places(say 2).
this will allow you to enter value 1.5 or 1.50 etc

Inspection Result - Qualitative

Hi all,
I have a inspection lot with plan containing 3 lines. The first two result lines are quantitative and the third one is qualitative.
Using characteristics and Single records, i am able to update quantitative records but the same is not working for qualitative as the qualitative do not contain any mean value.
It is giving me 2 errors in return;
1) Incomplete record for confirmation no. 00003367 : no valuation indicated
2) The inspected sample size does not correspond to the planned sample size
Can anyone please help me and explain what should be change for the qualitative inspection plan records...

How to Change view qualities when effects panel open?

Open Effects>Stylise>Rounded Corners,
Turn on Preview (BTW how do I make PREVIEW ON! as the default for all effects panels/windows?)
Now I want to Hide the Bounding Box and the Edges... but those shortcuts are now inoperable.
Photoshop allows me to hide bounding box, and the rulers, I think, when having an effect window open, why does Illustrator not permit this?
Is there an alternative other than canceling out and starting again with the view qualities changed?
Seems needlessly long winded to cut off these shortcuts just because an effects settings window/panel is open.

Basically, you can't. But you can enjoy the Scribble effect that has it on by default.
As for effects and their settings in general, I would appreciate if they were truly integrated in the Appearance palette (not just as a copy of the main Effect menu).
Illustrator still has got too many modal dialogs which hinder doing things like the bounding box example you mentioned.

Catalog selection in Qualitative MIC's

Hi Experts,
I am new to QM. While doing the results recording for Qualitative MIC in QE51n i could see a pop up showing catalog selection. I dont want this pop up to appear in my results recording. Is this pop up related to Qualitative MIC and it appears always for Qualitative MICs? Is there any possible way to restrict this?

Dear Ramanan,
I think it is possible. Just try following if works for you.
1.     You must have definitely ticked on Reference to Characteristic Attribute Required in the qualitative MIC that you are using.
2.     Just deactivate it and remove the selected set assigned to it in transaction code QS23
3.     You have to make these changes in inspection plan also by selecting control indicators.
4.     Then in RR screen you have to key in only non-confirming units instead of selecting from pop up every time.
But, as rightly quoted by Craig and Sanil, I also recommend to inspect qualitative characteristic by means of selected set. But it depends on your business call.

Right click one of yur clips in the event browser and choose Transcode Media. Make a test project and playthat clip. See whether that solves your lag.

Throttle Service Invocations with configurable qualities-of-service.

Hello All,
We are in the process of designing a system integrating 7 applications using BPEL as the integration Layer.
Some of the services we use are Third Party Services and have varying Qualities-of-service. As events occur in each system, BPEL orchestrates the service invocations to propagate the events/data to other systems.
Is there any way to throttle Service Invocations with configurable qualities-of-service? We do not want all Services to be invoked as soon as the events occur, as it may overload Services beyond their SLAs. We would want to throttle the Service Invocations per system or ideally per service.

It is possible using the dspMaxThreads and dspInvokeAllocFactor parameters. There is a good description of hoe to implement this in the best practice guide
