Quality certificate receipt without inspection lot

Hi Expert,
I have activated QM control key with certificate type but no quality inspection type activated but will take material in quality inspection through IM.
In this case where i can confirm certificate receipt.

Thanks for reply pls let me explain the scenario.
I am taking material in quality through IM, mean i have not activated any stock relevant inspection type but ticked post to inspection stock in QM view.
Made PO and received the material it went to Quality stock while making GR i have selected certificate received NO as i can select Yes AND NO both are possible.So where i can receive certificate in this case here through movement type i can post material from quality to unrestricted.
So where i can restricted material should not post to unrestricted before Quality certificate confirmation.
As per Normal situation when lot is created i have to confirm certificate receipt at either of three steps.
1.While GR(Yor N) 2.Through QC51 3.Before UD .so generally i confirm certificate receipt before UD and can post material in unrestricted stock.

Stock Transfer to quality without Inspection lot creation

Hi,
I want to do stock transfer from unrestricted stock of Plant A to quality stock of Plant B. However I don't want inspection lot to be created.
Is this possible?
I am using Movement type 301 and Inspection Lot of type 08 is active in Material Master.
If I deactivate QM for movement type, can I post to quality without inspection lot creation.

Do you have any inspection type setup for material in plant B? If yes then you would be not able to transfer stock in QI without creating an inspection lot. If inspection type is active in material master of plant B(destination) then system would through you error message saying - "transfer stock in QM only". The reason is you would not have an option to move stock from QI using 321 (QI to UNR) in plant B if QM is active. 321 managed by an insp lot.
If inspection type is not setup in material master at plant B then you would be able to post stock in QI without creating an inspection lot. Then move stock from QI to UNR using 321 (MB1B).

You can generate an inspection certificate for the inspection lot generated for 04 insp type.
U need to use QC21 Certficate for inspection lot transaction ( U can search the lot for ur production order)
Basic steps to be done
1. Create certificate profile
2. Assign profile with out any recipient.
3. Generate certificate

Inspection Char without Inspection lot generation

Hi
We are trying to model a customer requirement in PP for which a few production steps have a few characteristics to be monitored (status checked); for example - in a process of "spraying fertilizer", qty of 4 fertilizers have to be noted in the operation. Now these cannot be included in the BOM for some costing issues. We are apportioning the cost using an internal order in FI.
Can these be modelled in PP as inspection char. for which values (readings) have to be noted without generation of inspection lot?
Any ideas?

Hi Deepak,
One thing you need to clear is that without inspection lot generation you cannot record the values. Instead, you can create the inprocess inspection lot which does`nt effect the actual production, you can record results such as quantity etc.. for each operation for ur reference.
The secong thing you can do is select any field or the text box that you are not usingit currently in the confirmation and enter the characteristics in that field.
Final option is to create a document and save it with reference to ur order no. , bom etc..

Goods Receipt generates inspection lot using inspection type 08

Hi,
I have two plants A and B. I have set up my materials with an 08 inspection type plant B. Material transfers from plant A and B generate an inspection lot using inspection type 08 and inspection lot origin 08. This works perfectly.
However if I use a stock transfer between two storage locations within 1 plant, using stock transfer order, inspection lot is generated using inspection type 08 when GR is performed.
Is there a link between 08 inspection type and 101 movement

Yes ,101 & 08 are associated with each other for stock transfer order that is only when receipt indicator is "X" and mvt indicator is prchase order.
If you do not want this to haapen then
copy mvt type 101 as Z01 & for this mvt type deactivate QM in
QCC3->inspection lot creation->Inspect for goods mvt->Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type>Z01-->deactivate
Use this mvt type when you are tranferring material from storage location to storage Location.
This will not create any inspection lot.

Reverse GR after the Quality has passed the inspection lot

I have a situation where the GR was done, Quality has approved the materail, now we are trying to reverse the GR...the system is giving error when trying to cancel the GR...
"You cannot cancel GR, since inspection lot is already partly posted"
How can I reverse this GR,

To be able to reverse a stock posting for an inspection lot, the following conditions must be met:
A usage decision has been made for the inspection lot.
The goods in the inspection lot have been posted from inspection stock to blocked stock or unrestricted-use stock.
If you posted the goods to a stock other than blocked stock or unrestricted-use stock (for example, to scrap), you must first post the stock back to blocked stock before you can reverse the original stock posting
Reversing Stock Postings
Choose Logistics ® Materials Management ® Inventory Management ® Goods Movement ® Goods receipt ® For purchase order ® PO number known.
The initial screen for creating a goods receipt for a purchase order appears.
In the field for the movement type, enter 102 (goods receipt for a purchase order into warehouse - reversal).
In the field for the purchase order, enter the purchase order number for the original goods receipt.
You can copy the purchase order number from the inspection lot.
Choose Enter to display the selection screen for the purchase order items.
Select the purchase order item for which you want to create the goods receipt and set the Stock type indicator to the stock to which the goods were originally posted with the usage decision (for example, F for unrestricted-use stock or S for blocked stock).
Save the goods receipt and exit the Materials Management component.
Choose Logistics ® Quality management ® Quality inspection ® Inspection lot ® Usage decision ® Change with history.
The initial screen for changing a usage decision appears.
Enter the number of the inspection lot for which you previously made the usage decision and choose Usage decision (UD).
To cancel the inspection lot, choose Usage decision ® Functions ® Cancel lot in the usage decision screen

Creation of Inspection Lot in QM Module without inspection lot origin

I want a solution regarding creation of inspection lot without assigning inspection lot origin to material code.
We have developed function which creates inspection lot for the material against which PDI is envisaged on the material of a particular Purchase order. In my view we do not require assigning inspection lot origin on the material code as process has been mapped through Qinfo record. By assigning the inspection lot origin on the material is unnecessary step in our process.
Can any body suggest solution regarding above problem.

Quality Score for manual inspection lot

Dear All,
As per the UD codes selected during the UD, the quality score for the vendor is updated.
This happens for both of the following cases.
1) Lot generated during GRN
2) Lot created manually
Is there any requirement of updating the score for manual lots. Is it useful.
I am updating the score for the samples received from vendor. Then again updating the score after I receive the actual qty.
So vendor score is updated twice. Is it the correct process of giving score to vendor through UD.

Hi Ruta,
It is not correct to award the quality score for samples, samples you can handle separatly through manual lot generation, you can generate the lot using separate inspection type( may be 7 as vendor audit / samples) which does not have quality score assigned.
And for actual lots generated throgh GR against PO (01 insp type) you can assign the actual quality scores . Quality scores / rating using this process will be correct and realistic one.

3) Set Default values for SG1 at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Define Default Values for Inspection Type with parameters same as for 01.

I have tested it and was working fine till last thursday. I have the above mentioned settings even now in the system. Can there be anything else which the functional consultants would have change that affected the process. Anyways now the inspection lot is not getting created for the Inspection during MIGO and I am really struggling to find the exact reason.

Inspection lot for Goods receipt

We have material "X" of material type "VERP".
Batch Management is not active for this material.
QM procurement key is not active for this material.
No QM inforecord exist for material, plant & vendor combination.
Inspection type 01 is active for this material.
Usually till date purchase team was selecting stock type as unrestricted stock while making PO.
And after GRN material always use to get posted in unrestricted use without triggering inspection lot.
But today when a new GRN is posted with reference to a PO (in this PO also the stock type is unrestricted stock), stock get posted to quality stock triggering a inspection lot.
I have checked ,recent changes done in material master. But no relevent changes are done recently.
Can anybody explain why this is happened that the inspection lot get triggered for this GRN only? and though the inspection type 01 is active since long back, why the inspection lots were not triggered for earlier GRN?

When I investigate this issue it was found that through transaction QA08 the inspection type 01 was recently assigned to the said material by mistake. while performing QA08 the check box for change document was not active. and due to this there was no change history was available.So it miguided me that the inspection setup was active since long time back.But in actual this was not the case.
Any way, my problem get resolved.This is helpfull for other users also.

QM - Inspection lot release without inspection characteristic

Hi experts, have initially created an inspection plan without inspection characteristics and a few lots have been Goods Receipt and inspection lot created. However due to no sample size is being defined at the inspection characteristics level, system is currently expecting:
Insp lot quantity: 5
Actual quantity: 5
Sample size: 0
Now that the inspection characteristics had been added into the inspection plan. Is there anyway to update the inspection lot to reflect the latest change and allow processing? Or do you have any better recommendation besides reversing GR?

2) Menu > INspection lot > Reset Sample
3) Enter & Save
4) QA02
5) Inspection specification > Assign task list by click on Task/ specification
6) Go to Sample, do the SAmple calculation

Inspection lot is not required at the time of part scrapping

Dear All
Question- We are developed (Z)Scrap process in ECC6
In scrap process,In backgroun rejected parts are moved From PR01 to
RJ01 (Mvt.type-131)
For some parts 04 Inspection type active, due to this parts are
directly not transfered in rjo1.For these parts Quality Inspection
lots are created.
We don't want Quality Inspection lots at the time of scrap.

You are not Scrapping a Material, You are just transferring it to Scrap Location RJ01.
and as 04 insp. Type is active, and 131 Mvt is used, system generates an inspection Lot.
i think, by using 03 Insp. type will be beneficial.
you can transfer Scrap Qty to RJ01 without inspection lot.

I can explain the process better:
I receive the material from a Purchase Order into my warehouse, mov. type 101. Then the material as quality inspection on goods receipt activated, inspection lot is created and material stays in quality status on stok.
After that, is time to do the results recording and usage decision. When usage decision is done with OK, I have to move the stock from status Quality to Unrestricted, correct? Here, SAP shows an error that I have to fill the Delivery Note!
I checked the PO and the Material Movement that is in the Inspection Lot, and Delivery Note is filled! I have made debug on system and bypass the message. Material is now in Unrestricted. I just wanted to know what was the cause of this?

BTW, the sampling procedure in Inspection Plan is a read-only field, but empty inside.

Dear in your case there is no Inspection plan was attached to the lot so attach the plan and make lot status to REL then only you can do Results Recording.
Inspection plan gets auto assigned to availble inspection plan on respective date if you enabled the inspction with tasklist and automatic assignment boxes in relevant inspection types in MM QM view for this Inspction plant should be made avaialble in stsyem before any lot created which can be created QP01.
If it is not getting assiged automatically then you can assign it manually by QA02 here go to inspection specification tab click on Task list assignment the go to sample tab and click on sample and SAVE Inspection plan will be attached to inspection plan.
Once inspection plan is the lot status you can see REL before assignment of a plant it would be CRTD.

655 Movement: No Inspection lot created.

My End user are doing 655 for a Return delivery, In Material Master "05", inspection type is Set, but it is not active.
No inspection Lot has been Generated , but in MMBE , the Stock is in Quality.
1) Now, how can i do result recording for the same .
2) Even though "05", is not active how did it allow to do 655 Movt.

Hi Sandy,
Getting stock posted to quality inspection without inspection lot generation is possible in standard SAP. Firstly I try to explain why this happens.
1.     Go to material master in QM view
2.     You must have ticked on u201CPost to inspection stocku201D tick
3.     And you have not activated 05 inspection type.
As a result of which, system is posting the stock to quality inspection without generating lot. For this case you need to carry out 321 movement through MB1B transaction for transferring stock from quality to unrestricted.
1.     Regarding your first question, that how you can carry out result recording.
a)     In order to carry out result recording inspection lot must exist. And for that inspection type 05 must be activated in material master.
b)     You must have valid inspection plan with appropriate usage also.
c)     Inspection type activation has no co-relation 655 movement. Movement typeu2019s customization is associated with delivery type.
d)     Hence it doesnu2019t matter whether you have activated or deactivated 05 inspection type in material master.
e)     Inspection type activation is useful only for lot generation.
2.     Regarding second question that how you can carry out 655 movement
a)     This is automated movement with respect to outbound delivery and generally done through VL02N and not in VA01.
b)     I donu2019t think this movement is possible through MIGO. Better if you consult with good SD consultant.
