Quality control--any utilities or checking functions

I've run into enough bad media that checking each DVD before shipment becomes a necessity.
Anyone seen an automated way to examine a burned DVD for 'disk damage' or errors or malfunctions?

Quality control? crashes, performance, image quality...

I like to functionality of new lightroom, but once more I have to say: what about quality control? even after 2.1 this prog is a beta-version at best:
- performance: slower than a mountain duck
- image quality: adjustment-brush not ready for prime time
- stability: lightroom crashes more often in one day than all other programs together in one year.
summary: very poor quality control and very poo customer.

I understand your frustration. I too love LR's functionality but I've had a nightmare with it, particularly since 2.1. I have a high specified machine; Q6600, 4GB RAM, ATI 4850, XPsp3. LR constantly crashes.(the only program that does so) No Virus checker, Latest GFX driver, etc.
My main Issue-The Develop Module, After 30-45 mins usage.
(No difference whether it's my H3D-39 or 1DS mkIII files.)
In v1.0 I used to get an upside down red out of memory error.
I had to quit and restart to resolve.
In v2.0 unfortunately things got worse. The red OOM message was gone but unfortunately this was replaced by a gray area where the image should've been. I had to quit and restart to resolve.
I read that the problem in the develop module had been fixed in 2.1, seemingly it was attributable to a memory leak? Guess what?
Still a gray area where the image should be, sometimes preceded by the image flipping 180deg. I have to quit and restart to resolve.
Task manager confirms some odd things going on with memory.
I cannot use 2.1 with confidence, particularly so in front of my clients. It's not solid enough.

Video post processing/quality control no longer works in flash player

I use to watch videos via http://www.channel5.com and was able to use the post processing features in the AMD driver to improve the picture quality.
Now, it no longer works. Is this because hardware acceleration isn't working?
For a while I was able to use it in Internet Explorer, Sometimes in Firefox but never in Chrome. Now even with internet explorer it doesn't seem to work correctly.
I am using the latest flash versions for all platforms and the latest browser and driver version from AMD too.
Has Adobe changed something with the latest version of flash which cause a problem with the AMD Driver? Why is there no longer a Hardware Acceleration check-box in Internet Explorer?
I am using Windows 8.1 and I have the setting in the AMD CCC "apply current vdieo quality settings to internet video" checked. I have made sure in Firefox and Chrome hardware acceleration is enabled both in flash player settings and in the browser settings.

It may be for you, but it isn't for me in Internet Explorer, by comparison though, there is the box available in Chrome and Firefox...although in Chrome it doesn't do anything.
I did some more testing; With Internet Explorer hardware acceleration seems to be dependant on the website you watch.
For example, using IE to visit http://www.dailymotion.com the post processing options work fine, but when on http://www.channel5.com they do not. Is there any reason why this is?
As for other browsers, it seems hardware acceleration just isn't working at all since post processing never works on chrome.
On Firefox it seems to behave the same way as IE, e.g it works on some sites but not others.
I thought I may be able to get around this by disabling the pepper flash player in chrome, but it doesn't seem to make any difference, either its still using the built-in one or it still doesn't work at all with hardware acceleration.
Either way none of these achieve what I was able too before, get hardware acceleration working with http://www.channel5.com .

Read workitem Container Value in Terminating event Check Function Module

I have some problems reading work item data / values of a work item container element in a check function module on a terminating event Do any of you know if this is possible, and if so, how its done ?
In My scenario I have created a multiline approval step for my business document, one task pr Line Owner. The Event Approved is defined as a terminating event for this task, and the line owner is passed to the task container.
Now, when I raise the event, with the line owner as an event parameter, I would like to check if the line owner on the raised event, matches the line owner in the task container in question in a check fm. But here I faced the problem, that only event data, and not work item data, are passed to the Check Function module.

in the instance linkage's check function module (entered via transaction SWEINST) you'll have the workitem-id in the system event parameter EVTRECEIVER_ID
With this number you can use the frame work in order to read the work item container.

In the absence of spell check functionality for OA applications, is there any workaround or custom code to have a spell check functionality in OA framework. The customer does not want to use the Google spellcheker or JSpell.

I believe the spell checking you see here, or on any other site, is the spell checking built into Firefox. At least that's what I see. Are you using Firefox?

Any alternative to ago function

I am using obiee 11g.Trying to use ago function at quarter level with the date prompts as filter
instead of year prompt but somehow the data is not matching properly.
Would like to know if there is any alternative to ago function?
I just want to calcultate the count(distinct(id)) for current and previous quarter,where the report gets filtered by date fields.
The report has user column,quarter column and the currrentcount and previous count.
like
user1->Q1->10->19
user1->Q2->20->10
User3->Q1->11->26
Any help on this please?

One more thing i would like to add if i use the filter as FS_YEAR>=2011 then the counts comes perfectly.Problem is with cal date field.Just not bale to understnd where i am i going wrong?

Doubt in Check Function module

Hi all,
I have created a parameter(mulitline) for an event (in SW01) and I am using a check function module to check the conditions.
My problem is I am able to get the '_EVT_OBJECT' (object instance) in the check FM and not able to get the event's parameter (which i created for that event) in the check FM. In the log it says, "Container element xxxx doesnot exists".
May I know whether is it possible to send the event parameter to the Event_container of the check FM. Please help in this regard. As I am placing a breakpoint in the check FM but it doesnot stops.
P.S. I am using ZBUS2012 (delegation of BUS2012) and I redefined the event "Changed" and I added a multiline parameter with respect to DB field.

I am using a macro.
SWC_GET_TABLE EVENT_CONTAINER 'IM_NETWR' T_NETWR.
IM_NETWR is my mutiline element for the event "Changed". It will have the old and new value of the net price. I need to trigger the workflow if there is a change in price.
I Know it is possible with SWEC, but i need to validate some condition, which i am not able to give in SWEC, so I am using Check FM. Please help.
If i use both SWEC and check FM whether it will give any problem?

Start conditions and check function modules

Hi,
When we apply start conditions to any particular even linkage you will find check function module as SWB_2_CHECK_FB_START_COND_EVAL. However, what if i want to implement both a custom check function module AND start conditions ?
My requirement is to implement both start conditions and check function module.

You can use both of the things, however its advisable to check all start conditions if you are using check FM.

ITunes 10.5 Parental Control Issue - Cannot Disable Check for Updates

We are looking at updating to iTunes 10.5 in a large company.
Normally we add the following key to lock parental controls and disable the check for software updates.
This locked or greyed out the check for updates check box. This does not seem to work in the 10.5 release.
This did work in iTunes 10.4.1.10.
Here is the registry key we are using.
