Pls help

Hi folks,
Found the solution.
Inspection lot generated only with inspection type 04 in MFBF.
For 13, we need to generate the inspection lot in MFPR.

  • Goods issue in REM process

    hi sir,
I am new to SAP, so plz guide me.
in Paper industry this is the actual
    Business Process:
In  papers industry  they have different varieties of paper production in which they are characterized by the GSM (thickness), sizes  and  grades. These characteristics are not given by customer, they are pre-defined and are fixed i.e based on the available variety of paper that is produced in paper  mill the customer makes the order for sheets or reels(FG). The different customer makes the order for different grades and GSM of paper. In 7th day of  every month they compile the orders in order to get the net quantity of paper quality type  to be produced and based on that the production is done. Remaining materials like pulp, power, steam, water treatment production are continuously takes place without any reference to the FG(paper) to be produced. There is fixed production lines.
    Eg:
A,B, C are the grades of paper.  If for A-10MT,5MT,15MT are the orders and for B-4MT,2MT similarly for C-15MT,20MT are the orders. Then totally for A-20MT, B-6MT and for C-35MT planned to produce in a month.
Note: If the customer needs the new variety or changes in the paper variety that is already available then R & D is made on that variety and a new name is given to it.
Hence, this is Make To Stock  with Repetitive manufacturing process.  Is this process is right??
As per SAP best practices in repetitive process scenario, there will wont be conversion of planned order to production/process order, based on planned order the production takes place and then we will do the Operative backflushing.
Here, the client requirement is on what basis the goods issue has to be done for production?? as there will be no production/process orders.

    Hi,
REM process has been developed by SAP for less complicated scenarios. I mean where product varieties are less and process is less complex.
That is the reason there is no concept of order. Cost is getting captured on the product cost collector lever rather individual order level(In discrete).
Goods issue is on planned order which is of PE type (Once order is LA type you can assign the material to planning table. Then it will be PE)
    GI happen through back flush.
Please refer the above links for better idea.

    Krishnendu.

  • In-Process Quality Inspection in Rep Mfg

    Hi..
We have Rep Mfg scenario , and we want to chk the material while in-process.
In the Mtl Mastr we have maintained Insptn type as 13 .
In Rate Routing we have maintained a operation with  control key which requires Insptn characteristics n MIC is assigned in routing.
We have created a Planned order .
Now , requirement is dat system should not allow backflush activity until in-process inspetion rresult is recorded.
Whether Inspetion Lot gets created in Rep Mfg as soon as Planned Order is created..?
How to make the system to accomodate in - process inspection before backflush..?
    Please guide me with soln

    Hi
Try by selecting reporting point in the rem profile.
suppose u have 10 operations ok
first 3 operations are production operation then 4th u want to go for inprocess inspection then for the 3rd operation select the control key as milestone key and 4th is quality control key with milestone confirmation.
Then when ever u go for backflush(MFBF)  first u have to confirm the up to 3rd operation then 4th operation confirmation.
by this u can do the inprocess inspection scenario for REM

  • Quality inspection in repetitive mfg

    Hi
I have some queries in quality inspection setup for REP MFG.
    1. Setting up inprocess inspection
    2. GR Inspection from production
    3. At what stage the QM lot is generated .
The inspection types used for PP-P1 03 and 04 hold good for above or should I take other inspection type.
    Best wishes

    Hi Bhramankar,
I have not got chance to work on the REM Live environment. But I am very anxious to work over it if I will have chance.
I have posted the thread regarding the same about the Order when I read the process scenario form the Library material on [Repetitive Manufacturing|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/1a1eff4e4211d182be0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm].

The [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/1a1d794e4211d182be0000e829fbfe/content.htm] may have leaded me to write such.
If have misguided him, I sincerely APOLOGIES for that. And deeply regretted for the same.
I truly request you to posture some focus over in process inspection in REM and cultivate our information.
I again thank you for your inputs.
    Dear Dharam,
The SAP standard inspection type is 13 for REM.
How to capture it? I have a [Document|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/a5aadd4adc11d189740000e8322d00/frameset.htm] it may help you.

  • Reporting Points in REM.

    Hi PP Gurus,
Please throw some light on how to create Reporting Points in Repetitive Manufacturing? I know that those operation to be defined as Reporting points must contain Control Key with Milestone Confirmation. Please make some deatailed remarks on it.
Is In-process quality inspection possible in REM if Quality results are not influencing production process any how but are getting recorded just to maintain the records?
Please put your prompt comments on it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abu Arbab

    Hi Rajesha,
Thanks for your prompt and timely reply.
The Reporting Points in REM is quite clear to us. Now we're creating two Routings one is Rate Routing containing one operation with Control key PP01 and will be assigned in Production Line segment of Production Version of Material. Second one is Normal Routing containing all opearations with control key PP01 and PP99; PP99 for Reporting Points operations. Later Rate routing will be defined in Rate-based planning segment And Normal Routing in Detailed Planning segment of Production Version of material. Product Cost collector will be created by taking the same Production Version. We don't know what impact will it create on Costing? Whether it will consider Rate or Normal Routing?
Anyways, please tell me one thing, many operations are going on simultaneously with main products Production line for By-products and many Quality inspection are also involved into that. If we go for Reporting point in Normal Routing then is it neccessary to create lot manually and clear it OR assigning Inspection Required tick in Operation control key will serve the purpose?
    Please put your prompt comments.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abu Arbab

  • Inprocess inspection in REM

i just want to know as in discrete mfg, when we are creating production order, system is automatically generating the lot for inprocess inspection for the quanity equal to the production order quantity (with inspection type 03).And for this i have to set the inpscetion type 03 in material master and in routing ca01,i need to maintain the inspcetion characteristic.
same way if i want to use inspection type13 in REM,when system will gerate the lot automatically?or i will have to create the lot manually?
what will the inpscetion lot quantity?
what master data i will have to create?

    please read the help file

    Creating Inspection Lots
    Use
To link the quality inspection in the production process to repetitive manufacturing, you first have to create the inspection lot.
    Prerequisites
See the prerequisites under, quality inspection in the production process.
    Procedure
In the SAP overview tree, choose Logistics ® Production ® Repetitive manufacturing® Backflush ® Inspection lots for prod. versions. The system displays the Inspection Lot Processing screen.
Enter a material and, if necessary, a plant and a production version and choose Execute. The system displays the screen entitled, Processing Inspection Lots for Production Versions. The green flag indicates the materials that are relevant to Quality Management.
Expand the material row and select the production versions which do not yet have an inspection lot number.
You can set the indicator manually or you can choose Selection of versions w/o inspection lot. The system then automatically selects the production versions which do not yet have an inspection lot.
    Choose Create inspection lot.
    Result
The system creates the inspection lots for the production versions.
The light which was red until now (= no active inspection lot exists for any of the production versions) or yellow (= an inspection lot exists for one or more of the production versions) switches to green (= an inspection lot exists for all versions) the next time you access the screen Processing Inspection Lots for Production Versions.

  • Assembly scrap in REM scenario

    Hi Experts,
My scenario is relevant to REM, during back flush in transaction MFBF am posting the assembly scrap by selecting assembly scrap radio button and in the scrap posting screen with reason of variance, as per logic the quantity of the plan order should be reduced by scrap quantity, am able to see the goods issue document but the plan order quantity is not getting reduced.
Are there any specific setting needs to be done for posting of assembly scrap?
Please help to explain the complete process of assembly scrap in case of REM.
    Regards
    cs

    Hi Anupam,
I have checked the process as per your advise and it is working fine, but here am having an issue as if am scraping through quality it is scrapped with movement type 553, which is booked as loss.
But actually we are retrieving the components from these 5 units and reusing them in another FG.
As we are working with REM we are using CO07 production order without material for rework purpose in that case the scrapped assembly is issued to production order and components are retrieved with 531.
Is there any possibility that the scrapped assembly can be shown as stock and issuance can be done?
Or how can we address this scenariou2026

  • Reworking Procedure in REM

    Dear Friends,
I have confusion regarding rework order in case of REM :
How GR to be done against Rework Order in case of REM because I dont have parent Order as it is in the case of Discrete & further what should be the settlement receiver in case of REM scenario which we use Main order as settlement receiver in discrete.
Pls. guide me the detailed reworking procedure for REM.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Tejas

    Dear Tejas Pujara,
    Here you have 2 options,
Either try to book the component's and the activities consumed using component & activity backflush
    respectively.
or else you have to go for a production order creation without material in CO07.Say you have made a GR
in backflush and found some problem in the quality check and you want to make some rework on the
same.So you can create a Prod.Order without material and assign the settlement rule and reciever
which can be a cost center or an order or the material. This you can decide as per your business
    requirement.
You can confirm the order and close it,and no need to make a GR for this one.
    Check and revert back.

  • REM and  QM integration

    Hi Friends,
in continous manuyfacturing cement industry REM is used ,  in the process quality parameter monitered for  each hour. so  each shift 8  quality parameter noted, how to map this scenario in REM ?
    regards
    Sandeep

    Sandeep,
You need to map the parameters as MICs in the inspection plan that you will create. You need to create inspection lots at regular intervals using transaction MFPR for every shift.
Then do the results recording for each inspection lot. The parameters will be recorded for each shift.
    Hope this is useful.
    Regards

  • Operation based onfirmation in REM

I am having 3 operations and on the 2nd operation, some testing will be done. This result in identification of component as OK or Not Ok. How can I capture the Not Ok quantity, as I need to have a report for the rework quantity or scrap quantity. I need to link Material, Planned Order and Quantity.
But I am unable to enter the rework quantity in MFBF a sthere is no provision to capture rework quantity in MFBF. If I enter rework quantity through inprocess inspection point functionality, this rework quantity is no where updated in MFBF.
    This is mapped thru REM.
    Thanks and Regards
    Vineeth

    Hi Vineeth,
I would suggest to have seperate storage location for the rework.
You can select the storage location in MFBF. for scrap you have the scrap option in MFBF. Here the scrap cost will be posted to your cost collector.
For reporting perspective you can use Defect recording through inspection lot, In Quality Notification you will get the linkage of the production version in notification documents.
Kindly check and revert if you need any help.
    Regards,
    Anil

  • REWORK IN REM

    Dear Gurus,
I am working in REM scenario and i have to map rework scenario in REM.
    Following is the scenario1:
    1) Final Assembly got rejected in quality inspection.
    2) Some rework is required on the Assembly to make it OK which requires some material and operation.
    ___Scenario2___
    1) Final Assembly got rejected in quality inspection and it is found that it cant be repaired rather it can be dismantle and some components can be retrieved so that they can be utilized in future for the regular production and to be sent back to store department.
Kindly give your valuable suggestions to map above mentioned scenario.
    With Regards.

    Hi,
Rework is can not be handled in REM like that in Descrete Manufacturing.
If you have consumed additional components then do the Component Backflush.
Same for additional activity in Activity Backflush in MFBF.
If not you can have a Rework Production Order created fo this to capture the addtionl components and Activities..
    Hope his helps,,
    Regards,
    Siva

  • REM inspection lot 13

    HI Guru
In Mat master inspectiontype13 is active,In recepie for material and version ,Inspection charac.assigned in Operational level,Inspection point is quantity based
After releasing the Process order,Inspection lot not generated
I try to create through transaction MFPR, Inspection lot not created
Where I missed ,first time i am in REM industry
(If I assigned inspection type 04, inspection lot is generated-- early insp. lot assigned in mat.master)
    Please guide me in detail...
How to create inspection type 13,what are the steps to be folllowed ?
    please correct me
    thanks

    Hi,
Follow the below mentioned steps -
    1. In the material master record for the finished product, you must set the indicator for quality inspection in the Quality Management view. Moreover, in the QM inspection data, you must also select and activate an inspection type with the origin 13 (repetitive manufacturing).
    2. You must select a repetitive manufacturing profile in the material master record of the finished product.
    3. You must create a production version and a product cost collector.
    4. In the routing for the finished product, you must maintain characteristics for the operation for which inspection results are to be created.
Let me know if you still have issue.

  • Can I return my new laptop to lenovo because of its quality problem?

IBM is one of the best brand as I know, especially showing us not only high quality of products but the service.
But now one thing happened to me, if I don't have this case I can't believe. I found there is something with the laptop(T61 Model 7658CTO) the same day when I got the new laptop on June 3rd, 2008. Then I call 800, a lot of 800 calls,at last I were told that I should contact send it back first if I were to get another new one. Three days later I got the box sent by Lenovo, and I return it back in terms of what the paper shown.
Unfortunately the problems of the laptop still exist when I turn on my laptop after it repaired. What's wrong with my laptop, this is new one, I think IBM should provide high quality products.
I don't know how to describe the weird sound , it sounds like two or more micphone opened clost to each other. It is very harsh.
I want to get one new laptop from Lenovo because of the quality of product and customer service or can I return the laptop?
I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Like Obama says... yes you can
I did it last week because I bought an iPhone 4 as a wedding gift but then I changed my mind and wanted an iPad, so the bride could use it together with the groom (while the phone is personal).
I returned the iPhone to the apple store and I paid the difference to buy the 32GB iPad, no problems
I didn't opened the case, but the guy at the apple store told me I could have returned the phone even if it was opened. It must be undamaged tough.
