Quality notification for test equipment

Dear expert,
In calibration plan if my result of calibration is rejected. then I want a notification to repair the same equipment.
But system do not allow me to assign maintenance notification to inspection type (14 ) in IMG. it has to be Q type notification .
Now my question is how we map maintenance activity in Q type notification. ?

I am facing a big problem with QM-IDI interfaces,
Requirement: Whenever MIGO done inspection lot will create and we need to send this inspection lot to external system i.e. MES.
And SAP receives Results Recording and User deceision or Defect recording in SAP. I Reffered QM-IDI interfaces but i am not able to use which function module for what. Here i have to give structure to MES team, once i wil provides the will do mappings.
If do you have any mapping specs. Any test scenarios related to QM interfaces. Which function module i have to use to send inspection lot or which function module i have to use to receive data from external system how i have to give structures to them
Here my main intesion is mapping to external system

Error during usage decision for Test Equipment

Hi,
I have completed results recording for Test Equipment using QE51N (results closed and confirmation completed). When I tried to make usage decision (QA11) for the lot the pop-up message shows as "Not all equipment is valuated! Do you want to force inspection completion. I also noticed that in equipment tab of qa11 code valuation column shows as Not Valuated.
I request you to help me to solve this problem.

HI,
You may try changing the valuation mode in IA06. In the inspection characteristic overivew, click on details -> operation, scroll down, you will find Quality management inspection points -> maintain automatic valuation based on inspection points.
The changes if made will be effective only for the next inspeciton lots.

Error while result recording for test equipment

Dear Gurus
My scenario is to do unplanned maintenance for test equipment and recording the result.
For that I have done the following steps
1)     Created Notification for the test equipment (customized notification type TE).
2)     For that notification I created order. (customized order type TE01).
3)     Attached General maintenance task list for that order. Task list has inspection point 300.
4)     Released the order and saved. Inspection Lot is created.
5)     In QE51N / QA32 when I tried to do results recording, it shows the following error.
"Equipment VERN01 do not exist in the object list for order 4001214"
Please help me to correct this error.

I applied oss and today I got reply. When 1278254 notes is implemented it is solved.
I have one more question, now in QE51N, I did result recording and when saved it is asking for order confirmation, I have given all data and came back to the same screen. There is one more option for Valuate Inspection Point. In that I have selected Can be used option and saved. Now if I goto maintenance order and TECO the order, it is saying that A usage decision has stll to be made.
Whether I want to take UD once again in QA32 ?
Also is there any settings to TECO the notification automatically when the maintenance order is TECO'ed. Now the notification is not TECO'ed when order is TECO'ed.

Hi All,
Is there any way I can reference multiple Batches to single quality notification?
Present solution Proposed - Using user exit insert New Zfields to notification to enter Batch nos manually.
is there any other standard enhasment where multiple batch entry can be done!

Dear Sadan,
There is a chance of happening this due to that field is marked as mandatory.
I hope this would happen, when Pm guy was making settings for the notification fields.
He might have made this filed mandatory w/o any reference of Notification type (Influencing in spro filed selection), If he doesnt select Influencing and Notification type, that field Mandatory will effect all the Notification types.
So please check with ur PM guy and change the field setting for Notifications and ask him to use Influencing - Notification type and desired notification type.

Multiple 'F3' Quality Notifications for defects from single Service Order

Those of you working w/ the QM module no doubt know that if a failure is recorded against an inspection characteristic linked to a Production Order (Order category 10), that SAP standard functionality creates a Defect document (Quality Notification type 'F3'). Any subsequent failures recorded that are linked to that same Production Order (as well as the material & serial number) are recorded, as additional line item defectes, on that same 'F3' Quality Notification.
HOWEVER, I have found when failures are recorded against inspection characteristics for a Maintenance Order (Order Category 30), a new Defect document (Quality Notification type 'F3') is created for each failure that is recorded. Why is this?
My client wants only a single 'F3' Quality Notification to be created for any and all failures that are recorded against a single Maintenance Order. I do not see any way to accomplish this w/o a core mod. Understanding WHY SAP treats these two order categories differently will go a long way to assisting me in designing an adequate solution.

A couple more pieces of information....
1. We are currently running SAP Enterprise (4.7).
2. If I go to SPRO -> 'Quality Management' -> 'Inspection Lot Creation' -> 'Maintain Inspection Types', and display the details for Inspection Type 14 (which we use for Service Orders) the check box for 'One Q-notification per insp. lot' is active. Clearly the system is not processing a single Quality Notification per inspection lot on service orders.

Hi,
Enter trasaction QM01 and select the notification type A3
then enter the material document or p.o number;if both are not available still go inside the notification.
enter the material code for which you want deviation ; after that in subject tab enter the description for the approval, in Item tab enter defect and cause if any
then on next subject screen enter Department resp ,coordinator ,priority and Quantity and save the notification; after that from change mode send it to the respective authority from which u want approval.
it will go to his Inbox for approval,
then he will go to the change mode of that notification select Decision tab and then go to action box of that notification and click on special approval link and approve your deviation; for writing any other instruction long text is there; if any inspection lot is pending for this approval the approver can directly give usage decision from that action box screen and then send back notification to the co ordinator
I think all your doubts are cleared now if any left please revert back

MB56 for quality notifications?

Hi all,
is there a possibility to see quality notifications for substream materials which were consumed for production of a finished good? I mean a kind of MB56 for quality notifications.You enter the finished goods material and batch and see if there were notifications for a material which was used to produce the finished good?
Does this exist somewhere in the R3 - system?

Thanks for your patience in understanding my question.
My primary worry is if i use this exit to have electronic signatures in 4.0b and i know this functionality (Electronic signatures) is standard in latest versions, what will happen to the electronic signature data that i create until i upgrade.
The electronic signature data is the user id , date and time associated with a notification. I plan to store this in a custom table.
I will appreciate , if you can share with me your analysis.

I would suggest use notification type Q1( Customer complaint) which is std notiifcation type.
Quality Notification for the Customer complaint.
FM for customer returns from Q1 notification.
Just go through one cycle of Q1 type.this will help you a lots.

I am looking to setup Email notifications for Test Workbench.
Such as, automatically emailing testers when Test packages are assigned
Emailing Developers when a Test Problem Report is created.
How do i do this? Does anyone have any documentation they can share?

By setting up ChaRM the following actions can be triggered automatically,
1) When a requestor creates support message based on an error, service desk employee will be notified automatically
2) A developer will be notified when a change manager in the service desk assigns a developement task assigns.
3) When the developer completes the task, change manager will be notified again.
4) Then, a tester will be notified when change manager assigns a tester.
and many other things also there in the sequence.
