Quality of BT sport as a TV programme?

Got no problems on this subkject with BT, the enablement of the channel nor the quality of the game picture, but what a poor show on Saturday afternoons. For some reason i really thought we'd have a competitor / challenge to Sky Sports, but aside from the game, being shown , that's it! After the game - the fact that saturday football is going on around the country you woudn't know, where's the link to the games, updates to scores. a jeff sterland / Sky sports type programme. Its a pretty poor show, ESPN did this just as well?

Agree with StewM's comment - do something different.
Bear in mind  Sky & the BBC both have highlight package rights to the footie games ... hence they will have camera feeds , commentary and other people at many games - so they can easily present a reasonable standard scores and results service.  You can get Final Score on 301 and BBc1 so you can watch it if you wish .

  • Choosing the game you wish to see on Sky Sports 2 ...

On a Saturday on Sky sports you have repeated programmes" Football first match choice' It shows extended highlights of numerous games although each programme shows the same game and if you want to see a different one the on screen Sky instructions tell you to press the red button and you will then get the choice. These instructions seemed to be aimed at Sky subscribers and a sky remote.
How do I get to choose with a BT Vision remote as the red button does not take me to a screen where I can choose?
If I do not have the option then Sky sports for a footy fan who wants to follow their team is pointless as they will only be able to watch their team when they are fortunate enough that their team is the one showing (repeatedly) as the primary game. I can't imagine this is the case and that we are paying for Sky sports without access to all of the available content?

I wasn't and there lies the problem. I therefore rightly assumed that paying for Sky Sports 1 & 2 I would get all the features that exist within those 2 sports channels. If I had been told I would not have suscribed as I cannot watch edited highlights of the team I support each week, a key feature for any football fan who I would imagine make up the majority of suscribers to these channels.
Not in a bonused/targeted sales agents best interest to highlight what is missing from the channels to a prospective purchaser. Mis sold
I shall be cancelling unless Eurosport is being added any time soon as my other interest is Cycling and there is very little of that on these channels
If this feature was so important to you...
    Why didnt you ask?

  • Search for User/Customer-Exit in Printing Quality-Notifications

    Hello,
because we want to use the standard of SAP, we don't want to use a custom print programm for our quality-notifications. One of the print programms is "RQQMUD01". Are there spezific User/Customer Exits for the print programs of the quality-notifications. Or do we have to copy the original print program and make our modifications? Thanks.
    Regards, Lars.

    Hi,
In our casewe have copied the standard SAP Program RQQMUD01 and the form QM_NOTIF_OVERVW1 to meet our requirements.

  • Multiple Use of BT Account to access BT Sport

    Dear Community,
As a fully paid up BT Broadband subscriber and thus watcher of BT Sport I've always been curious as to the seeming ability for the same account to be accessing the service at the same time from multiple (UK) locations.
Is this by design and if so surely it leaves the system open for abuse (i.e "Can I use your log in details to watch so and so")
I'd be really keen to learn the party line on this.
    With thanks

Guess same would apply to two users accessing through Web as opposed to app?
Yes. Same thing, different route. The T&C say:
You may access BT Sport Online on a maximum of 2 devices simultaneously in any combination, whether they are smartphones, tablets, laptops or personal computers. Sometimes we may temporarily restrict your access to BT Sport Online to 1 device if we think this is necessary to safeguard the quality of BT Sport.

  • BT Sport Picture break up

I know picture break up is a common problem but I haven't yet seen an answer.  My router is too far away from the TV to allow ethernet connection so I am using the BT mains cable adaptors which I know is "not recommended" but I have no choice.  I have a smart tv so why can't the connection be by wifi?  Recently moved from Sky but beginning to think that was a big mistake.

That's interesting.  So to be sure I understyand correctly are you saying that if I link the sky box/card back up again I can swap the BT sport service back to sky delivery without the need to subscribe to sky?  Sounds an excellent solution.
In your position , I would telephone or even try Live chat. They would need to stop the delivery to your YouView box and then you should be able to get it enabled for the SKy satellite system.
One thing I should point out though is the HD on YouView is of a Higher definition than what SKY Use. I use both and BT Sport HD is far far better quality than SKY sports HD.
And yes, you do not need to subscribe to SKY. All that is needed is an ACTIVE Sky Card, but SKY can in the future charge for a new card.

  • Do I still need a Youview box?

Maybe a slightly strange question for this forum but I have just bought my first Smart TV and am wondering what the benefits of keeping the BT TV contract are. From what I can tell, the main difference between the box and my TV functions is being able to record one programme and watch something different. I currently have the older black BT Vision box so guess an upgrade is in order if I stick with it.
Can anyone offer any pointers on what else the box has to offer - picture quality, apps, BT Sport (can I get the app directly on my TV?). Any thoughts welcome.

You can get BT Sport on a YouView box if you are on an appropriate BT TV package and if your line is suitable.  You would have to check on the BT Sport web page to find that out.
The YouView box has built-in Freeview HD tuners, so it can receive and record HD channels.  YouView also has some add-on players.  These may or may not also be available on your smart TV.

I have a problem where I have Spry Tabbed Panels 2 implemented in a Magento CMS page.  In Opera, Firefox, Safari it works exactly as I want.  In IE (I have IE8, but I've been told the problem also shows up in IE7) the content displays for the first tab only.  The 2nd and 3rd tabs do not show the content.  The web page is at http://www.gulfcoastvirtualmall.com.  Here is the html for the tabbed panel:

When you start working to get your store up and running you depend on reading documents from the hosting company&rsquo;s web site. If you have to call for help you wait on hold and when you finally get someone on the phone they can&rsquo;t answer your questions. You finally get your web site set up, your products loaded, but no one buys anything. You can&rsquo;t tell if people are really even able to find your store. After spending hundreds of dollars you&rsquo;re frustrated and angry. You should be. Now wouldn&rsquo;t it be great to have a site that was all set up for you, ready for your products to be entered? And of course since you&rsquo;ve decided to market your products online, it would be great if this site had a way to put your products in front of people looking for them. And last but certainly not least, it would be really nice to be able to pick up the phone and have a real person answer that is knowledgeable and really cares about helping you. To start, you need to get your products in front of people that are looking for them. The system uploads your products to Google Merchant Center (formerly Froogle). If you change a price, an item goes out of stock the system automatically updates Google. The software has the ability to use almost any payment gateway. We chose PayPal as our initial offering since almost everyone is familiar with it. The shipping portion of the software allows a customer, in real time to find out (through an interface to the major shipping companies) what it costs for all of the shipping options available. Automated email communication with your customers which is triggered by you processing your orders. Unlike other e-commerce offerings, we do not limit how many products you can market or how many photos you use. The software allows you to create &ldquo;configurable&rdquo; products (multiple colors and sizes), bundled products (like custom built computers) where the customer can choose which options or sizes and colors they want. The system takes care of price differences as well with these types of product. And finally, although your online store is a business and businesses require time and energy to be successful the system emails you when you receive an order. You don&rsquo;t have to stare at the screen waiting for orders. By now you&rsquo;re probably thinking this is going to cost a fortune. Well, it doesn&rsquo;t. We charge a $75.00 one time setup fee which also gives you 2 dedicated hours of training when you start. Each month you&rsquo;ll be billed $50.00 and 3% (cumulative) of your transactions. <h3><span style="color: #ff9900;">Why A Virtual Mall?</span></h3>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">As with any other venture in life, strength comes in numbers or groups. People want &ldquo;one stop shopping&rdquo;, search engines love links and content rich sites. Grouping online stores creates an environment where customers will jump from store to store. Your products will be seen by more people. We also give you a site where you can see not just how many people, but where they are, where they came from, what search terms they used and how long they stayed along with much more information critical to make your business a success. The concept is simple, we do all the configuration and support you. You focus on your business. The link provided below is the front end of the mall. Go have a look, go through the stores. When you&rsquo;re ready to move forward with a store or want more information, call or email us. The systems running the mall are owned by the company and are located on the company&rsquo;s property. We have up to 15MB of network bandwidth which is scalable to 30MB (that&rsquo;s quite a bit). As the mall grows we will monitor and add additional systems and network bandwidth to maintain the same level of service you enjoy today.</span></p>

  • Source Rate Conversion

I was pointed at this site where the quality of SRC is measured in many programmes. You might be interested in the Logic and STP results (select DAW from the popup-menu). http://src.infinitewave.ca/

What do the left and right panes display, respectively?
I don't think I understand your question. Isn't it selfexplanatory? You use the left pane to select audio editor and the result of the test for that product turns up in the right pane. In the right pane the ideal display when sending a 1 kHz tone through the SRC would be a vertical straight line at 1 kHz and nothing more. Nothing. Anything besides the response at 1 kHz is distortion and distortion is bad.

  • NBA League Pass access via BT account

    Hello,
It is great to watch NBA games in BT Sport. Thanks a lot to everybody who makes it real.
    http://sport.bt.com/watchnow/programmes/bt-sport-agrees-multiyear-nba-broadcast-deal-S11363853884297
"Fans will also be able to access a free game on nba.com and NBA LEAGUE PASS International. Full schedule details of all of these digital games will be confirmed at a later date."
Still, I could not see any news about NBA LEAGUE PASS access. I checked offical NBA web site www.nba.com as well but there is nothing.
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks

    Hi!!!!
Last weekend i registered on NBA PASS or NBA GAMETIME and on the NBA video site it had the Kings game on the Sunday free to BT Sports customers, so if you register on this site first and look out for the information for games ahead on the games screen it will come up with a game.
When you sign up, once you see it says bt game this week, it will give option to find out more click on it, and then subscribe to that match and follow whatever it tell's you from that, i didin't actually use the free game as i am already on NBA pass but i just seen it on the site, so i'm assuming this is how it's done .
    Hope that helps
If i am not breaking the rules, here is the link i was talking about.

  • PC Gamer give GT80 Titan a high score of 85

    Quotes:
    •   Where MSI really went bold was with its keyboard and trackpad. Eschewing the chiclet-style keys found on   so many mobile systems, MSI implements a red-backlit SteelSeries mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches. It takes some getting used to, but the light actuation force is ideal for fast-paced action. And they sound so satisfying clicking away.
    •   The GT80 Titan has a great build quality. It sports a black brushed aluminum lid with red highlights that match the keyboard’s lighting. A thickness measurement of almost two inches creates plenty of room for exhaust vents on the sides and back.
    •   …the GT80 Titan SLI-001 is a purpose-built powerhouse. Its graphics hardware easily drives the 18.4” PLS panel at 1920x1080 using the top settings in any game you choose, almost begging for a 4K screen or three panels in Surround.
    •   You’ll either love or hate the SteelSeries mechanical keyboard. We began our review apprehensive, but quickly learned to love the clicky key presses in the notebook chassis.
    •   Best of all, MSI gives you access to its guts through a removable panel secured by a couple of screws. Getting to a notebook’s serviceable parts has never been easier...

  • No Spoilers on the Highlights service?

Hi, is there anyway you could not reveal the scores on the Highlights videos? whether it be for Football or Rugby, or any sport, I'm not sure about other people but i really don't like to know the scores before i watch Highlights of a match, Is there anyway you could have a Spoiler free mode, where instead of saying Manchester United 2 - Tottenham 2 you could simply put Manchester United vs Tottenham Highlights, Or instead of saying Saracens 24 Sale Sharks 19 you could just say Saracens vs Sale Sharks highlights etc.. I don't know if it's a contract thing you have, which i doubt as BBC, ITV and Sky don't reveal scores before watching highlights, But is it possible you could provide a no spoiler mode in the future
    Thanks.

My only interest is MotoGP and BT Sport do have a page with a spoiler free link the to the respective races which is great
You can find this link at https://sport.bt.com/watchnow/programmes/motogp-spoilerfree-race-replays-S11363886918385
In the case fo MotoGP they only update the page on the Monday following the race so I won't be able to get back on a Sunday and watch in the evening, pity the link isn't posted shortly after the race, but at least the the page is there so a pat on the back for that.
In a perfect world it it would be great if I could be emailed when the page is updated.
I would hope they have similiar for the other sports.
    Regards
    Richard

  • TV Box Sets & Movies Bolt On

Hello Everyone, I have viewed on here for a long time but thought I would join as I noticed the Bolt On for the TV Box Sets & Movies has been removed and I had it confirmed on live chat that it is no longer available. I am guessing it will be discontinued for existing customers at some point?
I know Netflix is becoming available fairly soon (but we do know that can mean anything with Youview) but I have to say I will be waiting and seeing what happens next before renewing my broadband and TV contracts especially with EE TV, Amazon TV Box etc coming onto the market. I have been a big fan of BT Vision and had it for several years now but it seems to have lost direction unless you mainly want sports content.

So BT brought in Mrs Bushell in July in there words
She will be responsible for developing the BT TV platform and the BT Sport channels as well as for their financial performance. She will also oversee the development and acquisition of content at BT TV including premium rights.
BT TV has a customer base of more than 950,000 homes which can access more than 150 channels ranging from premium sport to the most popular pay TV channels, as well as a huge library of on demand content via a BT set top box
And since then all that has happened is that the box sets and films have been removed and no quality content (including sports) have been added. Yes we know Netflix is about to get on board but seeing as they are getting a kicking for not meeting there forecasted subscription numbers that is hardly a big ask and it is available on so many other formats (I will still watch it through my TV app because it recognises my UHD TV and gives me the higher quality) it isn't really a huge draw...

  • :smileysad:!!!Audigy LS CMSS Problems

    hi there,
i have a megaworks 550 soundsystem combined with a audigy LS.
Unfortunatly my the 550 has no hardware cmss upmix function. so i used the software option in the eax console! but there is the problem when i turn the option on ( all in all for .mp3) theres a lot of more bass!? the naturalty for which i bought the system is gone....
but its not the only problem because when all 5 speakers are working withe .mp3 due to the upmix function both rear speakers give only frequenz response from 300 to 200 or so ( im not a pro)
but what can i say music can be heared but absolutly no voice!
so i dont know what the problem is
maybe quality is lost for the upmix but so much quality that the function has no reason to exist?
mmh ok i hope you can help me, i want a solution to dri've all 5 speakers with.mp3 without any neg effect on the sound..:smileyvery-happy:
    chris

    thx to all
yes its a little bit strange with the bass but as you said mostly of the sound comes then from the center
and the freont speakers are at a lower volume but the same sound quality not as the back ones who have ( its the only way i can describe it) reduced quality, which i tested when i pushed the trigger in the eax console at REAR speakers. but i just tested it again and when i watch tv with my tv card it seems that cmss is correctly working ( i mean the quality in the back speakers the anoying bass is still there)
only with mp3 theres the problem with the quality, so i m searching now a programm that "copies" the stereo sound on the back speakers and maybe also at the center ( i read media source?)
Quote: "You can also try playing your music through Mediasource3 and enabling DTS:NEO or whatever is called."
@[url="http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/view_profile?user.id=2349" target=top><SPAN>alexs3d2[/url] i think you have the chance to profit from two cmss functions apart me with my little "ls" i have only one cmss function no music or cinema
and finally i dont use any eax effects with the cmss function

  • Poor quality TV programme downloads in  the UK?

    Hi,
I purchased a few episodes of spooks from the iTunes UK Store. I have to say it was a massive disappointment, the resolution looks way below normal PAL standards. It is also a disappointment that many of the programmes for sale that are aired on BBC HD are only available in SD and as before, at much lower quality than available watching on air.
Is this others experience too? I Would love to know what the actual resolution and compression is on these downloads.

The quality of encoding of iTunes Store material varies greatly.
The problem I feel is the diversity of the potential target playback device - things need to work on basic video ipods through iPod Touch/iPhone, computer and AppleTV with widely varying playback specs.
Ideally there would be several quality downloads available tailored to the output device of main use, with price inversely prorortional to quality/file size. perhaps there could be a nominal upgrade/downgarde fee for the other resolutions/quality or an option to buy a package.
The rentals are by and large quite good quality, but for purchases, to justify buying into a proprietary DRM video format for things you want to play for years to come, the quality:price ratio has to be good enough to make it a no-brainer to get the download rather than the DVD +/- converting the physical media.
There is also the fact that what we buy a DRM product which may become obsolete in a few years, and would have to buy products all over again. It may not be a problem, but there are no guarantees that these DRM files will be playable in years to come once the hardware it was designed for has been replaced.
Not sure about the US but as more TV Shows etc become available to buy, a large proprotion of comments at the UK store are complaints about pricing - the equivalent DVDs are often much cheaper; how many people are prepared to pay just for convenience especially if the quality might be poor?
Take as an example the first season of Bewitched - I'd love to have this for nostalgia as I quite enjoyed it as a child, but it costs nearly £43 and the equivalent DVD is £12 from Amazon.
I honestly could not imagine paying £43 for a TV Show season unless you were a pretty serious fan of that show, and in that case I bet you'd already have it on DVD.
The UK pricing structure seems to regard each show as though people 'must have' these shows with pricing to match - the main target audience to get decent sales should be broader, i.e. those who'd not be at all bothered if they didn't have the show to watch, but would probably buy three or four of such shows for the equivalent pricing of one currently.
I could buy the Bewitched DVD for £12 from Amazon, but I haven't watched a DVD for many months since having AppleTV. I could not be bothered converting a DVD of something like this to watch on AppleTV, but that will not make me spend silly money for the convenience of the download.
Yet again, pricing makes people who are prepared to pay for legal downloads feel it's not good value. The habitual illegal filesharers won't give a monkey's, nor will they be affected.

  • Why are BT Sport Demand programmes edited?

Why not show the full programme as it was broadcast rather than an edited version. Cant see the point of a football match being edited down to something like 73 minutes.
Surelu would be easier just to put the full programme on the catch up service than get someone to edit it?

Other than not having adverts they aren't being editted down specifically for on demand. What is occuring is that most soccer & rugby matches are being edited down for a shorter program for transmission on the sports channels. Only the original live broadcast appears to be a complete match whereas the retransmissions are the shorter programs which are the ones that end up on demand. Whether that is a rights issue or simply ease of programmie scheduling is unclear.
Some programs are placed on demand in their full format - these seem to be ones that were never broadcast later in truncated form.So its always possible  that the On Demand people simply take the last copy of a program title broadcast and load that.
