Quality of Image after Break apart

When breaking apart an image, there is sort of a 'residue'
attached to some parts where the image has connected.
Problem is explained with a picture below.

The image was imported from a Photoshop CS3 document which

As you can see in the PSD there is no 'residue'.

Hi,
How did you import your image into Flash. Some times this
happened in the crossed sections of the PDS layers, try to expert
your layers from photoshop as PNGs.

Is it possible to keep a movieclips filter/tint changes after breaking apart?

I already know the answer is no, but I think that could be something the developers can work on for a future version. I'm currently working on combining a bunch of movieclips with variating color schemes that I'd like to condense into a unified pallete. Breaking apart a movieclip reverts the graphics to the original colors but it would be super-helpful if flash repasted the current color settings onto the graphics once its broken apart. Maybe implementing a few of illustrators color palette tools would be great too. If this isn't the proper place, then I apologize but I wanted to pass the info along as an artist who is currently using flash as his primary art development tool right now.

This is a wonderful request and will need careful planning due to several factors. The first issue I see is filter being specific to movieclip only so it can not be applied to a graphic symbol. The second is that if we are to reapply the filter and other effects to the symbol after break apart, what happen if the inner symbol already have this effect at a different value. Lots of things to consider and think about in the design as well as engineering of this request.

Problem after break apart a picture

Now my turn, facing problem
This is my 1st question here, hope some one can answer it.
I import a picture (any format),
break apart (Ctrl B)
slice to pieces (draw lines across or select rectangular
area)
convert each slice to symbol (graphic or movieclip)
publish to swf.
Now the problem is,
in fla, picture still looked fine,
but in swf, it gets wrong.

Flash has that sometimes when comes to bitmaps handling.
Make sure the content is on even pixels X=10 and Y123 not
123.2
Also, you may want to rethink the approach. Perhaps import
separate images to flash rather than one whole one and cut
it.

Quality of image after projecting an image on a ball service

I am working on a 3DJava Applet which shows a ball that rotates. The user can select a location on the ball and then an image will need to be added to the ball.
The image is a blue cicle which contains a green letter with a black border (GIF formatted image). I can correctly project the letter on the ball but the quality of the image becomes terrible i.e. very pixellated.
How can I add this image to the ball without getting into quality problems? I tried for 2 weeks and wasn't able to find anything to solve the issue. Who can help or who has a sample code?

Don`t know what to suggest, sorry. It may be that the ColorSpace converts java does internally don`t favour your graphic. Is there a chance you can post the effect somewhere so I can take a look?

Show image quality as like original image after resize in as3.

I am working on a Action Script3 project and i am showing images after resizing. I am using Bitmap and BitmapData manipulation for this but not getting image quality as like original image. Please guide and help me with code that how can i do this.

How are you resizing? Normally, you would draw the original bitmap data into the new bitmap data, using a matrix to resize. To smooth scale, you need to use the smoothing option of the draw method. Here's a little sample that takes a library image and scales it to 500x500, using smoothing:
var orig:BitmapData = new baseMap(); //library image
var res:BitmapData = new BitmapData(500,500);
var m:Matrix = new Matrix();
m.scale(res.width / orig.width, res.height / orig.height);
res.draw(orig, m, null, null, null, true);
var c:Bitmap = new Bitmap(res);

toggle the true to false in the draw, to see the difference...

Breaking Apart Images and Bitmaps in Color Panel

When I break apart a bitmap and use the eyedropper to sample
it and then fill in a shape, I notice that the bitmap also stays in
the color panel as a bitmap. Will this become a permanent part of
my Flash installation or is it only accessible for this file? I
opened a new file and it did not seem to appear for it. I just want
to make sure I understand the purpose of it displaying in the color
panel. What is the point of this?

Not sure I totally understand - the point is so you can pick
this swatch "color" again in this
document. If you delete the bitmap from the document's
library it will go away. If you open a new
doc it won't be there because the new doc doesn't contaqin
any imported/broken apart/color-picked
bitmaps.
I have to ask, what were you expecting to happen with this
particular swatch? Or rather, is there a
better workflow solution for you perhaps? Just curious.

Filters gone after using "breaking apart" command

Hi there,
I spent quite a bit of time enhancing my video with filters. Then I used the "Break apart" command (Cmd-Shift-G) on some clips in order to be able to work on the audio tracks separately on those clips. Strangely those clips seem to have lost their video filters! I think this is terrible. Any advice? TY.

Permanetly gone I'm afraid.... I learned the hard way too. When you break apart a compound clip, you are basically destroying it, not just "opening" it up. you have to double click it to "dive in" to the clip. I realize theres times when this isn't a good enough solution, only work around I have is to copy the clip before you destroy it, make your changes, then remake a compound clip and then "Paste Effects" this kinda does what your looking for. good luck!

Premier 3.02 crashes when breaking apart transferred slide show

Following the instructions in a reply on the PS Elements forum, when I right click on the scene transferred from PSE to Premier Elements and right click in the menu to break apart the slide show for additional editing, after receiving a "low system memory" warning Premier eventually crashes. The error message is "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe PE to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."

3.00GB RAM
Video card AT1 Radeon HD 3450
54.3 GB free disc space
No browser or Outlook is open and have even closed PS Elements before trying to break apart the Premier scene slide.
I have had no problems, warnings, or crashes constructing a 30 minute slide show in PS Elements.

It is not clear to me WHEN the failure occurs in this scenario. Does Premiere Elements start up OK? Can you open a new project in Premiere Elements? And does it then fail when you have do the Send of the Slideshow from Premiere Elements?
Or like the original poster on this thread, does it fail only when you attempt to Break Apart the slide show?
And also - have you deleted or moved or renamed any of the photo files or video files included within that slide show?

I Can No Longer Break Apart Clip Items??

For some reason, I can no longer drag a clip from the browser to the main timeline, then lift and then proceed to break it apart into a video and seperate audio tracks. I was doing this all the time, but now this option seems to have disappeared. I tried repairing permissions... I can access the components of the clip with the "open in new timeline" option after dragging down the maintimeline and lifting, but that still doens't explain why I can't choose or shortcut to break it apart in the main timeline, when lifted, anymore??? Anyone else having this issue?

You create a new project and set the frame rate to 23.98P
The media in your Events is 30P
From what I understand, your saying that if you drop a 30P clip in a 23.98P project, your unable to Break Apart Clip Items..?

Air for ios optimization with bitmap break apart

Hi,
I'm developing an ios game with Flash CS5.5, and tries to optimize it as much as possible. I use bitmaps and GPU, but there is one thing I haven't found an answer to. I'd like to fill a background with bitmap tiles. An easy way (for me) to achieve this, is to just break apart the bitmap tile and use the eyedropper tool to fill out the desired background area, but I believe this turns the bitmap into a shape. Do you know if this would be bad when it comes to optimizing? Should I instead lay out the tiles side by side without breaking them apart?

I did check for that, and rechecked just now, and they're all unscaled. Plus, the code shows the correct dimensions and the issue doesn't exist on the computer - screenshots from the computer and the ipad don't match. It's only the ipad that's showing the distortion.
There must be something wrong with the fla or the ipa. I created a new fla and tested the same code with just one image and there's no distortion. I'll try creating a new fla.

Sony DCR-HC30 --- footage in iMovie breaks apart upon import

Hello,
I'm having trouble importing camcorder footage from my Sony DCR-HC30.
The footage plays fine in the camcorder but after I transfer it to iMovie, It breaks apart and the transfer stops.
I have successfully transferred footage from this camcorder into iMovie in the past.
I've tried a new firewire cable but it hasn't helped --- although at least
iMovie recognizes the camcorder now (with my old firewire cable it didn't)
Any assistance would be much appreciated

I got the footage from my camcorder safely on board my PowerBook (and am backing up to an external hard drive even as we speak --- certainly nothing wrong with my stalwart and intrepid firewire port!)

I can now proceed with my project --- work on which came to a screeching halt several days ago...

Just as the import was starting from iMovie (during my many failed attempts) --- I briefly saw something like "importing QuickTime movie".
If iMovie was under the impression that it was importing a QuickTime movie from the camcorder, that would explain the distorted footage (but not why iMovie was having problems seeing the camcorder at all...)
I didn't see that message during the imports thad did work.
I'm gettting a new camcorder

My website breaks apart in a couple of areas when viewed in
either Firefox v3.0.3 or Safari v3.1.2, but not in IE7.
I checked the offending page in Dreamweaver but no errors
showed up.
Here are some specifics.
I created my web design in PhotoShop CS3, I sliced my site in
FireWorks CS3, then put it together in DreamWeaver CS3. I use
minimal CSS in this site, only to give margins and padding to my
paragraphs.

What resolution are you using? If the DVD is to be playable on an ordinary DVD player, only ordinary TV resolution is supported. You need Blue ray for HD.
