Quality of Madonna "Hung Up" Song Bad

I recently bought the new Madonna single "Hung Up" on the iTunes store, and am really disappointed with the quality of the sound. It sounds like the song is highly compressed. The music often sounds muddy when the instrumentation gets louder or more complex, and it's very noticeable to me.
Has anyone else that purchased this song noticed this?
I hope this isn't an indicator of the quality of the full album when released, because if so, I will cancel my pre-order and just buy the CD when it comes out. I'm surpirsed the quality of the digital recording in iTunes is so bad for a major artist like Madonna.

Oh, really? Okay, I guess that might explain it. It sounds like when you play a song really loud on crappy speakers. Must be bad sound engineering in the recording, then.
On a similar note, I notice that Amazon is selling the new Madonna "Confessions" CD for $10.99, two dollars cheaper than in iTunes. Usually, iTunes has the cheaper prices for full albums, so, I don't understand why iTunes isn't more price-competitive, considering all the restrictions and lower-quality sound of music bought from iTunes.

  • Quality of an AVI is really bad

I am totally new to Premier Pro. I imported some AVI's which were created at a resolution of 800 x 600. The reason I imported them is I want to create a new AVI made up of a number of seperate AVI's with transitions between them.
The quality of the imported AVI is extremly bad compared to the original AVI after importing into Premiere.
I then imported the same AVI into After Effects and the quality was nearer the quality of the original AVI.
    1. Can anybody tell me why the quality of the AVI's are degrading. What can I do to keep the same quality as the orriginal AVI
    2. Which product should I use Premiere or After Effects
    Thanks

Glad to hear your problem is solved.
    >Do you use a codec that you would recommend ?
To transport your video from 3ds Max to PPro I would suggest to give
    Lagarith
    (free-/donationware) a try. Lagarith uses
lossless compression. Although the files will be quite a bit larger than the M-JPEG ones the video will be free from any compression artifacts or quality loss right until the moment you are ready to export to the delivery format.

  • Quality of DVD+R burning suddenly bad

I use Parallels to run DVD Shrink, DVD Fab and Nero 6. I noticed the last few movies, quality wise, are not too good. I'm not sure how to really describe it but the screen randomly displays like squares stretched out (pixels?) and the audio doesn't sound right. I opened a brand new spindle of Sony DVD+R and had the same issue. Also tried Kodak, same thing. Older movies on my external HD that I had burned a few weeks ago using the same media that turned out just fine are now looking bad. Not sure if this is a sign of a DVD drive going bad?

  • Quality of facetime camera is so bad

I got a new 27'' imac and I'm really diasappointed about the camera. apple announces it as "Get everyone in the picture with crisp, widescreen HD video. The built-in720p FaceTime HD camera lets you make video calls that are so clear, it seems like everyone’s in the same room. " What a joke!
My facetime camera in my iphone 5 takes much better images than the imac's.
Even worse are the results if I take photos in photo booth. The size of the photos are about 200kb!!!
Is there any possibility to adjust the settings of the camera?

The camera on the iPad is not nearly as good a camera as on the iPhone 4. You simply can't expect it to take the same quality pictures. It's primarily designed for use with FaceTime.
The quality of the pictures will be better the more light you have. Also, as the iPad is heavier, it's harder to hold steady, thus the blur. Brace your arms against your body or rest the iPad on something.

  • Video quality of some iTunes videos is BAD

I've seen several articles around the net about older videos having been up-converted to be the new 640 x 480 size but when I downloaded episode one of Battlestar Galactica, Season 3 I was really disappointed to find that it was obviously up-converted as the quality was terrible! episode 2 looks great. What gives iTunes??

  • After iMac upgrade to  Snow Leopard print quality with Epson R2400 is very bad.   Anyone have a workaround?

Recently attended excellent workshop about the Fine Art of Printing with R Mac Holbert and John Paul Caponigro.  They indicated printing using iMac computers was difficult.  I upgraded to Snow Leopard and now print output quality is so poor that the results are totally usable.
A call to Epson support on December 9th was of no help.
Is there a workaround for this problem?  Thanks so much.

    Re
yes i use and install many new imac , your problem of "colorimetrie" could generaly sovled by
calibrate your screen and use icc profile from printer / scanner manufacturer
mac os software tool to do tha is locate into , app folder -> utility folder -> Colorsync utility
    look for it
    exemple :
and from system preferences -> monitor -> color , calibrate button

  • Sound quality craps out on certain songs

i have a 4 gb nano and everything works fine except for a few of my songs which have a deep pounding bass, like some of my felix da housecat and fischerspooner songs which sound like the headphones are busted. ive tried connecting different headphones & enabled sound check but it still remains. if anyone knows anything about this please reply.
    Thanks,

Try uploading the songs again, it's a wild shot but it could be a problem with the connection.
Also try uploading the same songs, but from different location.

  • Print quality of printing internet coupons is bad

I have HP office jet 4620 and when printing coupons from the internet the bar code area iof coupon is uneven and faded in areas, however the color picture of the product is clear.  Also did a printer test page and that is fine. What is the problem?

    Hi ginamartin,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that the bar code of your coupons is printing faded and uneven from your Officejet 4620 printer.
I have included the Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems trouble shooting document.  Please follow the steps in the order presented.

  • The quality of my videos are really bad after export

during export there are so many options to choose from and me being a caveman when it comes to computers have a hard time understanding what things i need for the best quality video
btw i am using videos from OBS not footage from a camera or anything
i have an okay computer atleast that is what my friends say
if you need the computer info just ask and i will happily help but remember to talk to me like a child when explaining any solutions for the quality
    please i really need help

    have a hard time understanding
Be sure to look up the definition of every word you don't fully understand.  Never read past a word you don't know the meaning of, get it defined.  And it's not always just the technical words people have a hard time with.  A good rule of thumb is that if you can't come up with a definition in three seconds, you really need to look it up.  I recommend the following site:
    OneLook Dictionary Search
Another tip is to learn things in the proper sequence.  It makes no sense to learn how to use a camera's iris if you don't even know how to turn it on yet.  So start at the beginning and go in order.
Finally, test out each new thing as you learn it.

  • Bad quality after sharing video

The quality of my video is very bad after sharing it (I have saved the project as MPEG2 file)
Especially the darker parts of the video are bad, in the preview screen in adobe premiere elements 7 I can see the faces of all people in these parts, while I can only see very dark faces after sharing. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    Thanks!

I have a DV camcorder and I used a firewire cable to get it into my computer. In the assets I read DV PAL 25.00 frames/sec , don't know what information I need to give you?
I tried to share it as MPEG2-NTSC standard, and MPEG2-PAL standard.
(I view the shared video on the same computer)
Hope you can help me (sorry, am not really into video editing yet so I don't know so much about it).

  • Song quality question.

so as im playing some songs, doesnt really matter the quality really, it seems the songs level "wobbles" as it plays, as in, sometimes it sounds full, others it sounds muffled, almost as if somone is messing with the volume the whole time haha anyone else notice this? is it due to crappy quality? or do i have something else set wrong? its very annoying, it isnt just my speakers either, iv run the songs through external speakrs, burnt cds and played on studio quality head phones, i dont get it. i thought maybe it might be how it was recorded, maybe the levels were peaking, and evened out, not sure. any advice would be great.
    thanks in advance

Perhaps this definition will be more clear. If not, you might want to look for a good book on how computers work.
I sometimes import the songs from my CDs using "Apple Lossless." Does this mean it is exactly the same bit rate as the CD, and if so, does it take away from the bit rate if you import it in other ways?
Apple Lossless is a compressed format, but unlike most other compressed formats (such as MP3, AAC, and WMA), data is not thrown away when the track is played back. So the net result is quality that is identical (at least in measurable terms) to that of the original CD. If you use another import format with compression (again, AAC, MP3), those are what are called "lossy" compression formats, where data is thrown away during compression. Those formats will result in quality lower than that of the original CD: how much lower will depend on the compression ratio (expressed as a data rate of kilobits per second in iTunes and most other audio applications).
    2. Why do you think that audio quality will stay the same for a while? If we are allowed to store more data on CDs in the future, wouldn't it make sense to offer better quality songs to go along with the larger storage capacity?
Strictly market forces. The vast majority of the market seems quite happy with CD quality - heck, many people seem happy with markedly inferior low-bit-rate MP3 tracks - hence the very limited acceptance of the superior quality of DVD Audio. In addition, for the delivery medium to offer significantly higher quality, the quality of recording equipment also has to rise, which is a very expensive proposition. Therefore, unless there's significant market pressure for higher-quality playback formats, it's unlikely that we'll see such products appear except perhaps as niche markets as it the case with DVD-A.
    Regards.

  • Media Encoder - very bad resizing quality

The problem is when i want to resize HD video from it's original size 1440x1080 50i (16x9) to DV PAL 720x576 (4x3) 50i to the full frame size (without black borders) using crop - the video quality even in preview looks really bad. The whole image gets blurry and kinda "half resolution" looking.
    I think it's a bug of media encoder 4.0.1
This is really annoyingg cause we're filming using XDCAM and clients often want to get material in DV PAL. Any solutions?
The same thing done and rendered natively in After Effects looks fine

Try importing the clips into Premiere and resizing them manually in the timeline. Then send those off to Media Encoder. Make sure you select "Maximize Render Quality" from the sequence settings or use "Maximum Render Quality" in your export settings.
There was a similar issue with CS3 when "Scale to Frame Size" was selected on a clip. The resulting video was softer using this feature compared to resizing the clip manually.

  • E430 Fix bad sound quality with Win 7 + Dolby Advanced Audio

Problem:  In Windows 7 x64, sound quality is tinny and sounds very badly DSPed when Dolby Advanced Audio is activated.  Even setting all effects off and EQ off the sound is bad simply because Dolby is/was turned on.  Going to Sound > Playback > Speakers > Properties > Enhancements, checking Disable All Enhancements and clicking Apply clears up the sound, but then the EQ won't have any effect.
Solution:  If you have Win 7 x64, uninstall the Win 7 driver (h0a114ww.exe) and instead install the Windows 8 driver (h0ac10ww.exe).  Note that this is NOT the Win 8.1 driver - that won't install under Win 7.  The sound quality will be way better when you use Dobly EQ and effects.  So far I haven't had any stability problems.
I thought my E430 had the worst sound card ever until I upgraded to Windows 8 and installed the new driver.  I have Windows 7 dual booted and found the sound quality in Win 7 terrible so I played around with it and found the above solution.
    Solved!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 - Video Output (GPU) bad quality...

    Hi,
I have a question about Adobe Premiere Pro CS6...
I have installed the Trial-Version and use a BM Intensity Pro to output Full-HD 1080i (50, Interlace) trough HDMI Video-Output...
The Video-Output works correctly, but if I enable the "GPU"-Acceleration (CUDA), and scale or transform a Video (for example a 3D-Transformation) the Quality of the transforming is very bad! (jerky, not "smooth", Interlace-Lines etc...)
If I deactivate the GPU-Acceleration (Software only Mode), everything is smooth and looks good!
Also if I render the Timeline, all tranformations are also smooth, only the Realtime GPU Rendering looks very bad....
    What can I do?

    Hi :-)
I have tested it now with another Grafikcard!
And it is exactly the same problem
I have found out, that the GPU makes a delay, after a few seconds the Transformation looks smooth/bicubic!
    But on relatime-Playback its bad...
My English isnt very good, so I have some problems to describe what I mean...
If you stop the playback, it takes 2 Sekonds and then the image looks good!
But dureing the playback its very bad quality, false Interlace-Lines etc...
    here are two screenshots:
