Quality of Printing

HP Photosmart 7520e Printer,  Windows 7
For some time I do not get satisfactory printing results.  The No. 1 is never clear and therefore you have to guess what is the correct printed figure.
I have gone through all the steps of your help system without any results.  All the replies were that the system is in order.
I bought the printer about a year ago.

Hello csuk.
Welcome to the HP Forums. If you are receiving unsatisfactory printing results from your Photosmart 7520, then please follow this HP document on Common Print Quality Problems.
Start off by printing a self test page listed in this document. If you are receiving a defective print out from this page, then continue following this document.
Please inform me your troubleshooting steps.
Looking forward to hear from you.

  • Quality problem printing in Windows 8.1 with CP1215

Recently purchased new laptop with Windows 8.1 Pro.  I have had my printer for years, CP1215, via USB, without having any problems printing to it with Windows 7 Pro. I first noticed that the quality of print I receive out of my printer on the new laptop is darker.  The darkness comes from black lines going diagonally across the page.  I would estimate at approximately a 2 degree angle.  I would also estimate that the lines appear every 4th pixel row.  I have attached 2 images, printed on 2 different printers.  The one on the top is the one off of my CP1215, the one on the bottom is a color copier in my office.  I have zoomed in incredibly on the prints to show the lines.  Just never had problems with this printer in pre Windows 8.1 days.  Tried installing ljcP1215-HB-pnp-win64-en.  Tried uninstalling printer, rebooting, then installing, still same problem.  I also have another problem with printing, but suspect it is more of a Microsoft problem.  My laptop thinks a network printer goes offline, stopping and restarting the print spooler service seems to fix that.  I had to make a .bat file on my desktop to do it, it happens at least 2 times in an 8 hr work day.

Hi paulie99, Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! I understand the printer isn't printing properly from Windows 8.I will be happy to help you. Check your printer driver settings. 1. On the File menu in the software program, click Print.2. Select the driver, and then click Properties or Preferences.3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.4. In the Type is or Size is list box, select the correct media type or size. Set the quality to ImageREt 2400. I have provided a document to install the Windows print driver to see if that makes a difference.Installing the Printer Software in Windows 8.1 for a USB or Network Connection. For the network printer I would setup a static IP address. Please let me know the results if you are still having issues. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.Have a great weekend!

  • Poor Image Quality when Printing PDF from Office 07 using Acrobat 9 Pro Ext

    Hi there,
Hoping to figure out why my images (jpegs, gifs, pngs, etc) seem to print in very poor quality when printing from Powerpoint and Word 2007?
When I actually print out the pdf onto paper, the images seem fine. The image quality is also good in Word and Excel
I did not have this problem using Office 2003 products.
Is this a common problem? I realize that the problem maybe Office related but any help or information appreciated.
    Thanks

If the images' file format is PNG or TIFF you could play with the compression settings available in Acrobat's Preferences.
Edit > Preferences > select the Category "Convert to PDF".
In the"Converting To PDF" pane, select PNG or TIFF.
Then, click on the Edit Settings" button.
For either image format you could try one of the Lossless compression routines.
    Be well...

  • Quality of prints has gone

My HP 3070 is very new, needing only one change of ink so far.  Tonight the quality of prints has become terrible.  Is this maybe affter leaving the printer on for two days?  I have cleaned it too, but in vain.
What can I do?  Change the ink  -  surely not the answer?  Maybe something else has happened.  I would appreciate help, please.

  • Quality of print

    Hi...
I am not a professional designer but do a lot of design work for our small business and to make Church flyers, etc. I am working on a Mac (leopard-10.5.2) and I recently made a flyer where I created an image in Photoshop CS3. I then added the image to my flyer created with InDesign CS3 and output printing to a pdf file.
The pdf file printed beautiful on my inkjet printer. I then e-mailed the pdf file to our Church where it was printed using a PC to a laser printer. The image printed with 'stair-step' edges. I was very embarrassed, for copies were made before I saw how terrible it looked!
The image was a black silhouette with a black to white gradient background. The gradient printed OK... the silhouette was stair-stepped.
I have created pdf files to print on a Kinko's laser printer many times... with good results. But, I did use a Mac at Kinko's.
Is something lost in my pdf quality when printed using a PC?
or maybe when compressed an sent via e-mail?
Thanks for any help you can give me... Jeanne

Could be a number of things. Make sure when you create a PDF for print to use the high quality print preset. It could possibly be just the laser printer at your church, but most likely the quality of the PDF you made.

  • Why am i getting poor quality photo prints after installing lion using canon pixma 6120?

After installing Lion, I began experiencing poor quality photo prints on my Canon Pixma 6120 printer.  Prior to Lion, my picture prints were all high quality.  Now, anything black in the picture is faded.

Lion should not cause the blacks to print faded. The printer drivers used by Snow Leopard and Leopard are the same version as that used by Lion.
For starters I suggest you check that you have the latest version installed. This Apple KB article shows the MG6100 series has v10.51.2.0 as the latest version.
I also recommend you do a Nozzle test print. This can be executed from the MG6120 control panel or via the Printer Utilties window (via Print & Scan, select the printer and then open Options & Supplies and then select the Utilties tab).
If the nozzle test print is okay but the blacks still look faded when printing photos (note the printer has two black ink tanks - one for photos and one for text) then try a reset of the printing system. This will remove the MG6120 from the Print & Scan pane but not the supporting drivers. So you will only have to add the printer again.

  • Quality sertificates print program in QC22

    Hi collegues,
I have a question regarding quality sertificates print program. When you print a sertificate for a delivery item, the system uses a print program from the condition type in output determination customizing. The question is - which print progtam does the system use when you print a sertificate nor for a delivery item, but for a batch (transaction QC22)?
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Tatiana

    Yes Tatiana,
You can develop your own one. Sit with your ABAPer and ask him to create it for you, You may copy the code from the STD program and then amend it as per your requirement and have your own "Z" transaction to print the COA.
It's absolutely practical and there are 'n' number of companies do it this way.

  • Questions on default print quality and print order

I recently upgraded to CS 5.5, a clean install on a new Mac running 10.7. I've found two issues regarding printing from both Acrobat and InDesign:
In both programs, if I go directly to print (command-P, then hit OK without changing settings), documents will print at my printer's default setting, which is for a high-quality photo on glossy paper. (I haven't figured out yet how to change that default.) I want it to print to my faster standard quality  setting, which is generally also the "last-used" setting. I can of course go into printer settings to fix -- each time I do that, my standard setting is already set in that window -- but I have to make that move every time I print.
Previous versions of both programs (CS3) automatically went into the last-used or standard setting. How can I get that back?
Also, print order hasn't been working as it did in CS3. Documents print first-page-first in CS 5.5, unless I check "Reverse order"; in CS3, docs printed last-page-first automatically, without checking any additional box, making documents easier to collate. Also, on many documents, "Odd pages only" prints the even ones, and vice-versa.
How can I get the automatic reverse order and correct odd/even back in Indesign 5.5 and Acrobat X Pro?

    Hi Davis,
Well, if you are able to log on the BPS application (thus, a Web Interface if I'm not mistaken) then it means that some user is logged on the ABAP-side. It is either a "personal" user or a technical (common) user, that is used for anonymous access.
You will certainly be able to track down this user with the SM04 transaction.
You should be able to add a button to the BPS page. One idea would be to call an URL with an ICF service behind that will be able to process the parameters contained in this URL.
It will be this very ICF service that will call the BAPI.

  • Bad pdf quality when printing from word 2004

    hello,
when i print a document with a lot of screenshots from wort in the save as pdf dialogue... the pictures in the document have a very bad quality.
where can i defin or setup the general quality for the print as a pdf?
i know, that there is a option for compressing file size as a pdf, but I work with the normal saving as a pdf.. and in the help, apple says, that this is the optimum quality..
    can anyone help me?
    thanks
    fabian

    Hi Fabian -
Screenshots produce very low resolution images... 72 pixels per inch on the Mac. The settings you are using do produce optimum quality, but based on what you are starting with, and 72 ppi is not sufficient for decent printed output.
If you save the screenshots (Grab saves as TIFF), use an image editor like Photoshop to create a better quality image (200 ppi) & then insert the image into your doc you'll get higher quality output.
There are also other programs that allow for higher quality screenshots if this is something you will need to do on a professional/regular basis.

  • CS3 v CS2 quality of print to non-PS printer

I went over to CS3 about 18 months ago and use print so little I've never resolved this issue.
I have a greyscale image that prints perfectly to an old HP laserjet 6L printer from CS2, just using the embedded document profile and no fiddling with anything.
From the same laptop (running Vista) to the same printer on CS3, the print looks like a draft (despite there not being a setting anywhere I can find). The print dialog scale to media area (which isn't checked) says it's going to print at 600dpi. I think I've tried changing everything I can in the CS3 dialog settings but nothing has made a difference.
I have checked that all the printer driver settings are the same in both cases. The driver print quality is set to 600dpi.
Any suggestions gratefully received! If I can resolve this, I'll be able to uninstall CS2 at last.

A file which has the problem is at:
    http://www.wlv.ac.uk/PDF/uow-direct-app-home.pdf
It has substituted the "Adobe Serif MM" font -
Is this a problem with Acrobat on Leopard? That PDF's without Embedded fonts do not deprecate properly to showing/printing the Substitute fonts?

  • Poor Image Quality when printing in Pages

I created small (150 x 100 pixel at 72 dpi) images for printing on a one-page flyer in Pages. I dragged and dropped them into place, and things look great on the monitor. But when I print (using a Canon MX310) all-in-one, the images look bad - they are not looking crisp and sharp like they should. I have done everything on my printer settings I can - setting it to FINE quality, photo paper, etc. but they still look bad. Any ideas? I had tried this same thing in InDesign but there I got definitely jagged images on output. The images are TIFFs. I tried a different Canon ip3500 desktop printer, but to no avail.

    You need +at least+ 200dpi.
300dpi is recommended to get fine detail.
The size of the image has nothing to do with it, it is how many pixels you have per inch on the page.
Obviously 72dpi has chunky pixels that you can see with your naked eye.
The other thing is where did you get the images from? If they came from the Web then they are probably highly compressed and have compression artifacts which are painfully obvious when printing.
Just changing formats is not going to do anything. What's that they say about a sow's ear…?

  • Set up quality certificate printing for deliveries

    Hi,
to print a quality certificate for a delivery,
    1. do you need a certificate profile? Or is that only for QC for a batch and for an inspection lot?
    2. do you always use usage B?
    3. do you always use application V2?
    4. how do you set up condition tables, access sequences, condition types and output determination procedures?
I created an output type (copy of LQCA) in application V2, assigned a program (RQCAAP00), a form routine (entry) and a form (QM_QCERT_01). I also created and released a certificate profile.
But when I run QC20, I get the message
"No messages for initial processing exist".
    What could be the error?
    Thx.
    Jessica

Yes, you always need a certificate profile.  Usually you always use V2 (shipping).  The form you used, QM_QCERT_01 is only an example form that SAP provides.  It should be copied and must be adapted for your businss and you'll need a person knowledgable about SAPscript to make changes to it.  I  believe there is another for a COC (Certificate of compliance) which might be more what your looking for if you don't need to report batch values or inspection lot vales.
Your probaly missing the certificate recipent record.  You'll find this under the QM area under Outgoing certificates.  You can try adding LQCA output type directly to the delivery in the item outputs.  (Any good SD person on site should be able to show you how to do this)
To understand condition tables and procedures I would again turn to an SD person or a pricing person.  They use the condition technique a lot and should be able to explain it easilly.  They should also be able to help with setting up the output procedures and related items as well.

  • Poor quality photo printing

I am getting very poor quality prints from my new Canon MG6220. I have it set on the advanced photo with glossy paper. Am I missing something?

Are you using Canon brand paper? Unless you have the proper profile for other papers you'll get less than ideal prints. The printer (when working correctly) will spray the correct amount of ink onto the paper, but it's matched to Canon paper. IF you use any other brand it may absorb more ink or less than the printer is set to spray. That has a major effect on the look of the photo.
Also note that most people edit using their monitor set at full brightness, but when they print it's not the same. It's very important to set your monitor's brightness to match what your printer produces.

  • Poor Quality when printing envelopes on P1102W

I have a good toner and it prints good using standard paper but whenever I print envelopes the quality is very bad. Text is very light and has a fading in the middle of text.  This is using the manual tray and seems to only happens with envelopes.  I'm using MS Word 2010 to print the envelopes.
And...it's not the type of envelopes I'm using because if they print out fine on a different printer.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

This issue likely deals with the thickness of the envelope, which is more dense than normal printing paper. To compensate for this I would recommend going to the Devices and Printers folder and right-clicking on the printer. Here select "Printing Preferences." Under Paper/Quality you can change the printer to print in "Best Mode" which should improve your overall performance on those kinds of print jobs.
Do this and let me know how it turns out!
    Have a great day!
