Quality of text isn't good

When I type in text in the canvas, it is at a scale size of 48. I then scale it down to about 12 pt and the quality is horrible. You can see every single pixel. I even exported it to see if it was just Motion, but when I opened it up in Quicktime, it was still very low quality. Has anyone had a similar problem? Also, how can I switch the default text size? Ok. So here is what happened. I switched the font and it was still blurry/low quality. When I switched to a previous Motion file, I was able to type in 48 pt while keeping the good quality. What I noticed was that on the previous Motion file, the 48 pt font appeared a lot smaller in the canvas view, than it did when it was in a new Motion file(the blurry one). If I were to open a file right now and select the tool icon and start typing, the blinking cursor(where you type your text) is very big because it is writing a big font size. The font size reads 48 pt and the scale size reads 100% on both projects, yet on the previous project the font size is smaller and better quality. I have no idea why it is doing that in different projects/files. So, in one project it worked fine, and in a new project it was back to the old way... big/low quality. I don't understand why the font is typing so big. Any thoughts?

Ringtones Play At Lesser Quality Than Text Tones

Strange thing I am noticing.
Ringtones on my iPhone 4S (iOS 5) play back at what sounds like a lesser quality than Text Tones.
When selecting a "ringtone", all the tones that play back sound like a low quality audio file.
When selecting a "text tone", the very same audio files play back in full quality.
Just sayin.

Thought I'd be a pest and bump this (I also replied to a related thread).
I previously was too lazy to make my own ringtones, so when I finally got around to it last week, I noticed this inexplicable and annoying bug. Why on EARTH would ringtones play at such horrid quality? If Apple made its own Blu-ray player, would it play movies at VHS quality??
I'll be VERY HAPPY when this is fixed. Then my phone won't sound like an audio Hallmark greeting card when it rings.

You can try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

I found the above link helpful! Apparently the @me.com is a separate "apple id" ...pretty stupid - the whole reason I got the @me.com e-mail is I thought I would streamline everything into one....

I've downloaded a movie but the quality isn't good. What can I do?

I've downloaded a movie on iTunes, Soapdish. It plays fine until about 50 minutes when the sound jumps and is no longer in time with the picture. I have tried it on my iphone and iPad and it does the same thing at the same time, making it very hard to watch. What can I do about this problem?

Did you sync the film from your computer to your iPad and/or iPhone, or did you download separate copies on one or both of them ?
If the former then depending upon what country that you are in (films can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the film from your iTunes library and redownload it by clicking on your account name at the top right of the iTunes screen and clicking ‘Purchased’ on the popup.
If the latter, or if you aren't in a country where you can re-download films, or if it re-downloads with the same problem, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PLUS HAS POOR QUALITY, BLACK TEXT HAS HORIZONTAL LINES & FADING

I have a Officejet Pro 8600 Plus which is a few months old. It gets light use although I'm a graphic designer working from home.
The problem just started with a very poor print quality. The black text fades in and out, has horizontal lines through it. The color text also has horizontal print qualities.
I replaced all of the color ink cartridges, the black is mostly full.
I have repeatedly run the Align Printhead and Clean Printhead functions on the printer with no improvement.
What can I do at this point? I need the printer function very soon.
I'm on a Mac OS 10.7.5

Regarding the Officejet pro 8600 not printing a clean crisp black text, the steps you have done are very good attempts to resolve.
When you printed the cleaning, did the characters print clean and crisp? It should look like this:
Please excuse the blurry image and colors should be on the bottom of the page, how ever the above should give you an idea of what it should look like.
Performing the steps in this HP document: Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems should help. It will have you doing steps you have done already, I recommend doing the steps but you could skip the steps you have done already.

Looking for voice to text app as good as Droid......anyone know of one?

I'm looking for a voice to text app that is incorporated in actual text messaging similar to Droid that I can use on my 3GS. Anyone know of one?

To straighten things out: You mean you are looking for a messenger application ie SMS or MSN with voice to text capability?
AFAIK there is no messenger client to iOS that has incorporated voice to text capability. Yet. However, Nuance has now released their SDK to all iOS developer to incorporate Voice to text capability so it should be just a matter of time now before your favorite messenger app gets V2T.
Voice recognition is an even harder challenge not at least due to all kinda dialects and strange pronunciations and very few has the economic power and skills to create a good and working Voice to Text. Nuance (Dragon Dictate) is one of the few who knows about it.
The reason Dragon Dictate App on iOS "exports" the text to other third part app the ways it does is due to security reasons (every app is sandboxed).
Dragon Dictate v2 supports iOS4 and after "voicing" you just hit the key to which you want to send it to: SMS, e-Mail, Twitter, Facebook..

Text isn't displayed correctly in IE6

Just creating a site for someone and am having a few issues with the text displaying correctly in Internet Explorer 6. I tend to create the index page and test it on most browsers out of habit to see if there are any errors. I've noticed since using iWeb '09 I've experienced a lot of text errors. All text in this site is live and Verdana. It is the same if you change it to Arial.

As you will see, it displays fine in Safari and FF etc, but on IE6 it looks like this:

I decided to link to a grab so you can see it to scale - notice how some of the text (what will be live text menus) is either cut off or lines are too close in some paragraphs and line breaks?
Has anyone else experienced this or know of a solution? Is it a case of simply saying to viewers; Please update your browser to IE7?!

I thought I should share my experience. I have just built a website using entirely blank templates. No blogs or photo albums. I found iweb to be an amazing design tool and a fantastic web site builder. I published my site to my own url www.geraldhenry.com with no issues. The site was perfect in Safari, Firefox and Camino on my Mac Pro. I then checked it in Internet Explorer 6 and 8. It was acceptable in 8 but looked terrible in 6. In Explorer 6, all my lists and text formatting had come apart, creating huge gaps between list items and was pushing text off the page. Yet some lists looked perfect. So I used the iweb text inspector to see what was different between the formatting I had used in the lists that displayed perfectly in Explorer 6 and those that had come apart. Here is the information I wanted to share. When using the text inspector, there is a "list" option. It gives you the opportunity to indent text as well as bullets and numbers. If I used the bullet or number indent, there was no problem. But, if I used the text indent, Explorer did not like it and the formatting blew apart as described earlier. So, the key is not to use the text indent. To indent, use the tab key or space bar. You cannot create the amazing text layouts you can using text indenting, but your work will look good in all browsers. In my case, I went through my site and removed all text indenting and replaced it with spaces using the space bar and all of the issues with the lists blowing apart were resolved. Some final notes, I built my own navigation completely and so had no navigation issues. I used Verdana type which displays perfectly in Safari, Firefox and Camino but looks weak in Explorer. Why this is, I don't know. Also, as suggested on www.allaboutiweb.com, I added a landing page that says my site looks best in Safari and Firefox and I offer download links. Please feel free to look at my site using different browsers to see how it looks. I hope this helps.

Microsoft claims to be "listening" to its users by asking them to provide feedback. Sounds like a good idea, right?
They've already seen how interpreting telemetry can fail. So now they're asking Joe Public to use the "Feedback App" and let them know what's up.
Am I the only one who thinks the trouble with this is that what we'll get is an OS that's designed by untrained masses of people, who know about as much about designing operating systems as they know about designing rockets? What do poorly designed
rockets do?
I went to submit feedback about Internet Explorer not doing proper color management, and (per the App) not one person had mentioned color management. So therefore Microsoft - assuming they're counting up comments - doesn't perceive there to be any
demand for better color-management, and thus they will do nothing (even though IE gets the color wrong 100% of the time on most systems).
Of course it's easy to "just do what people want" and if you fail you can tell upper management, "But we did what the people asked for!" How convenient.
Let's not forget that the world requires higher tech from specialty companies than users could design themselves.
What's hard is innovating. Leading. Building a solid foundation. Getting it right.

As do we all. Unfortunately, their track record doesn't breed a lot of confidence at this point.
If I've got it totally wrong, and you're (the reader of this thread) a person inside Microsoft working really hard to make an integrated OS that meets all the needs of Joe Public and then some, I'm sorry for pre-judging and BRAVO to you.
But you folks have to SHOW it soon in order to start to build back up the confidence of the people you expect to buy your software. It will take time to build trust again. Now is the time to do BETTER work, to deliver BETTER quality in order
to climb that slope. Windows Updates for a whole year that don't break things for masses of people - that sort of thing.
And speaking of quality, what's this silly talk of Windows 10 being a free upgrade? While I like to hold onto my money as much as anyone,
I don't want or need a free operating system. I want an expensive operating system that's worth every penny and then some! Remember 30 years ago when there were mainframes and minicomputers made for serious business? Who fills
those roles now? Microsoft needs to. If that means doing something completely different for business than for pleasure, so be it.

Transformed Text isn't transformed in the movie

I've got some text that I generated in Flash and used the
free transform to skew the text a little. It looks correct on the
workspace, but when I play the movie the text is no longer skewed.
I've had this happen before and got around it by doing the text in
Photoshop and then just bringing it in. It would be nice to just do
it correctly in Flash.

need to if I do it in Photoshop (being from the same parent
company). I found several tutorials on Google about skewing text
and none of them said anything about breaking the text.
I guess there is no substitute for good ol-fashioned know

Libretto W100: Blio software - wrong format & text isn't limpid

i'm trustworthy client Toshiba because i think is fantastic farm and wide industry electronics producer but i'm very surprised when i' ve bought W100 libretto model last week.
I've tried to install *BLIO* SW for because i would like to use this model like ebook reader in dual screen mode.
This new philosophy machine i think is right for this use but i think there are a lot of problem to achieve success.
In this particular plan of operations i have seen that there are two essential problem;
- first there is not right format layout of page on display dual screen mode and
- second the text font i think isn't limpid like windows .

I think Libretto W100 is a great device with the dual 7 displays. It can be used for different purposes and not only for ebook reading
However, I think there are different applcations on the market which can be used for ebook reading and I think your feedback is related especially to the Blio software.
I cannot say anything about this tool. I dont use it.

Text isn't showing up on Firefox?

hello! can anyone help me?
i built a website and uploaded it successfully. however, there is text that is not showing up on the home page. the text says in scroll "stunning flowers directly from the farm" on top of the slideshow.
the strange thing is, it DOES show up in Explorer, just not in Firefox. help please!

Text isn't showing up

So I'm trying to use the text tool to make words but nothing is showing up. The text is on the top layer and set to a different color from the background and the opacity is set to 100% so it's not a simple problem like that.nI'm trying to type using Times New Roman with size 12 font. I made the text box plenty big enough but when I create the text box there is no blinking line and when I start typing none of the letters show up. The words appear in the layers pane so its like I have some preference turned off or something but I don't know what it is.

I see something now. something does happen but it's like the text tool is making miniscule letters. So if I try to type something in red letters a tiny illegible red line appears on the layer even though I have the sext size set to 30.
It's like the text size got screwed up somewhere so the sizes are far smaller than they should be.
What's the deal with this?

Poor quality Skype Video Calls with good connectio...

suffering with Poor quality Skype Video Calls and also voice.
My connection is 8 mb Download and .6mp upload, my wife in another country has Fiber so is alot faster again.
I am using Windows 8.1 and also a Ipad Air, same issues on both.
The Windows Pc has a nice microsoft Hd webcam (not one of the cheapones) using a i7 pc with 16g of Ram and a Gaming Graphics Card.
There is very little software on the pc, a couple of games, no itunes, Downloading software and very little running in the background. I use Window Defender and Anti virus and have recently done a re instal of windows and everything is updated driver and software wise, including skype.
The Ipad is the Apple air.
When connecting to my Wife in the Uk the reception isnt great picture wise and after a little while gets bad and also disconects alot and then comes back with a worse picture and call quality. I have even had the bad connection pop up. I have ran speed tests at these points and all are showing fine.
I also have a issue when calling my Dads land line in the uk where he has trouble hearing what im saying, muffled and echos
I am a premium paying customer and started to get a bit frustrated.

@Furgan, in which country are you located? Some countries and ISP-s are shaping Skype traffic. One known country is Saudi Arabia for example.
If would help us if you could please reproduce the issue and provide logs as described in this link https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12321/how-do-i-create-log-files under Skype for Windows Desktop and attach it to your post?
