Quality of the adobe support

I had sudden problems opening cs4 programms. he didn't accept my correkt serial numbers anymore. after following the supports advice step by step and deleting some files manually,  even all cs5 apps didnt' work anymore.
after that the support told me, that it was no longer responsible and i should got to adobe community and solve adobes probles by my own. is that fair?

We don't know anything about your system or what you actualyl did. As a start, run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and reinstall your programs. The rest is beside the point. Yes, we all know that Adobe support sucks on the best of days, but there realyl is no need to turn this into the ump-teenth discussion about the subject.

    start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

    if, your error is:
    "Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
    first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
    64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
    if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
    if you're using a dvd to install:
    copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.
    if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:

    Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. We don't even know what exactly you are trying to install.

    The CC Cleaner Tool assumes the Akamai Download Manager is activated and it has not. It seems to be the missing file that triggers the error message. \in a previous re-install I was prompted to download & install the Akamai Download Manger, but not this time. Is there somewhere on the Adobe website that I can download it??

    Which operating system are you using?
    When you say downloaded, where did download pse 7 from?
    Do you have the original install disk or original download for pse 7?
    I believe the serials won't interchange between the disk version of pse 7 and the electronic down load version.

    yes, I did that with helping message 3, I'd remove Cs6 only, but it did not help. The message "Failed to initialize the setup program. To identify the problem, download the program Adobe Support Advisor" repeat again =(

    I've been using Adobe tools for years, so I know a few things about how obtuse they can be, but when I just wanted to cancel a free membership to Adobe.com's cloud service, I thought it would be fairly easy.  The circular logic on the site is ridiculous.  A software design company should be embarrassed to have such a poor support site.

    I have tried to call Adobe CC support phone so many times I have lost count. I have NEVER reached anyone there! Theres a number for each country to call, but a friend of mine with the same issue told me its just a cheap scam with a handful Indian people sitting in India anyhow. Hello Adobe? Where are you? Have you waved goodbye to your customers now? Everyone and everything is supposed to be solved by the paying users themselves on forums? BAD.

    I even tried to contact online about a question, but cannot get in.  Maybe not a company I would work with.  I wrote to them....but it wouldn't take it....here is what I wrote
    I have the cc demo and I like how it cuts a person out of a picture.  But the program monthly is very expensive since I don't use it much....and I don't use it for other reasons.  Does any of your programs stand alone with the way it masks?  It is impossible to contact you on the phone.  I want a simple program to do just this.  I don't think $10 a month is worth it.  I never do anything else with pictures and don't own a camera.  Please contact me.  If you don't then I know your program would not work for me.  I don't deal with programs that I cannot contact the customer service.  Thanks.  Vicki R

    I've suddenly had a message appear when I open Photoshop CS6 saying "one or more files in the Adobe support folder, necessary for running Photoshop are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop".  When I press o.k. button I can continue to use Photoshop mostly without issue.  This message only comes up on initial opening the application.  Any ideas?

    There was a file missing in my Scripting Editions Library folder.  I just copied from a previous back up and pasted in current library and message has now gone when I open up Photoshop.

    Hi, I've received a graphic tablet with 2 programs: the first has been downloaded and works perfectly while the second, PSE9, has been giving me problems for at least a week!
    I downloaded it and now I have a winzip file full of strange things (one of this is set up exe which tells me that I have to install adobe support advisor) and two files which said 3DF.tmp and PSEP9(1).zip.download and if I try to click them they tell me that I have to find on the Net the program to open them because I can't. And I don't know which program is required.
    I tried a lot of times to download the adobe support advisor, I have enough space on my disc and my farewall is deactivated, but when the program begins I saw this annoyant message
    cpsid_82829s5 Missing installation file bootstrapper error occured
    with this code for a support from adobe 00-67325-032018052012
    I unistalled it and retried, but nothing.
    Please, I just want to use my tablet with the programs which are comprised in the package, why it's so difficult to download this damn photoshop elements 9????????????

    In the error message it doesn't tell me
    "Installer has detected that a machine restart is pending. It is recommended that you quit the installer, restart try again,"
    neither "Installer failed to initialize. File not found. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."
    and I have enough space and I have Windows xp then I should be able to install it. I tried to unistall and install again the support advisor but nothing. I'm desperate.

    Did you try the steps listed in http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-error-messages-b ootstrapper-cs5.html which was identified by the Adobe Support Advisor?  If so can you please list each step and the result of those steps.  This will allow us to best advise you on your next steps.

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

    Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
    I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!

    I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
    The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
    Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
    and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.

    Our company will present our costumers a catalog with the digital publishing suite for free. But we have so many questions about the FOLIO and the Adobe viewer and we need some replys quickly
    First off all is it impossible to search in a FOLIO with the adobe viewer.
    The adobe support cant answer these question because we have no buy a digital publishing suite edition.
    Only we have buyed the Edition we become an answer from the support but we need these information before we buy an edition.

    If you have the answer we’re all ears. My guess is anything with a search function was done totally with HTML.
    Finally, this is a user to user forum. While it’s probably the most monitored I know of by Adobe employees, it’s not really an official contact mechanism.

  • CS5.5 Installation incomplete, Adobe Support Adviser is disconneting my network

    Hello,
    I've installed the new CS5.5 (Middle eastern version) on my brand new Windows 7 system. When it was done, it said that some parts were uninstalled and that I shoule reinstall.
    So I reinstalled and again, got the same "could not install" this and that..., I've restart the computer several times, I think I treid to install about 4 times but got the same messeges each time.
    I than download the Adobe Support Adviser so I could package the issues and send it over as Adobe suggested, but it failed doe to netword unavailable.
    For some strange reason, I than discovered that my network was disconnected and I fixed it. I open the software again, and again it told me I am disconnected form network. After 4 times, I discovered that everytime i use this software it disconnect me from my network.
    So now I got an incomplete installation without any knowledge of how to fix and how to send.
    Any advise what I can do?

    Has anyone had trouble using the Adobe support on line?  For two days, I have tried to use the support system which requires a phone call and being put on hold or a call back of up to one hour wait long.  Four or five times my call was dropped shortly after the agent began to work with me..  One female agent was unable to find my adobe Lightroom serial # registered, so threatened to drop the call.  My # was used a couple of days to download Lt. Rm 3.6.  I asked to speak with her manager, she put me on hold, and hung up the phone after 20 mintues.  I did get her name in case anyone from Adobe  is interested.  I tried again and again to get help, but each time it ended in a hang up.  Does any one know how to get to an agent who can really help?  I am beyond frustration. 

    Try asking your question here, instead. There are lots of people here with great expertise, even though we don't work for Adobe.
