Quantity available to putaway in a storage bin

Is there any way to find the quantity we can putaway in a storage bin? i.e say 50 more pc can be putaway on a storage bin.

Let me explain more detail.
I have created a new storage bin with a maximum storage weight as 10000Kgs. And some TO has been created for putaway on the bin with 1500kgs. And now the occupied weight of the storage bin is displayed as 1500kgs.
I want to know the remaining amount/qty of material I can putway for this particular material? Is it equals to 10000 - 1500 = 8500kgs ?
And also I want to find the list of materials can be stored on a storage bin. i.e what are all the materials we can store in a particular storage bin.

Putaway Block in Storage Bin for any specific Material Code

Hi Experts,
We have a problem, we have allowed mix storage, addition to stock in the storage type, our requirement is this, that we want to block one bin aa-01-01 for some specific material code xxxxx, but we want to allow putaway other material codes to that bin.
How can we achieve this. Can we use LS07 or some other solution. Please suggest at the earliest.

Hi,
In standard system, you can block one specific bin for the specific material with Putaway strategy "Fixed bin" by maintaining this bin in material master. It is unclear that you set "allowed mix storage" and again required material specific putaway in bin.
You can change "Mixed storage" indicator to blank. Which explains "___" Mixed storage is not allowed
All storage units in a storage bin must contain the same material and batch (one quant).
If you don't want to change any of current setting you'll need to use the user exit and maintain custom table where you can maintain specific bin for the material for the warehouse. After determination of the bin to putaway in the standard code you can check if it is conflicting to the entry in your custom table.

updated 01-01-01.. system is automatically remaining quantity 4000 is updates in return stock bin in transfer order..i want to 1000
qty should be updated in 01-01-01 and remainin quantity should be update the sequence of BIN Like 01-01-02.

i have created 4 storage types IN my warehouse Z1 and asigned this Z1 to plant and sotrage location SLOC 00 & SLOC 01 in spro>ep>assignment>le
now both the sloc are assigned to the same warehouse that is z1 so it means boththe sloc have same sotrage area avilable
goods are lying at high rack(storage area) for sloc 00
in material master storage indictor for stock placemnt mentioned sz1
entry in storage type seach is like this

I HAVE ALSO CREATED THE STORAGE BINS FOR ALL THE STORAGE TYPES
AND POINT TO NOTE IS Z1 IS NTO A BIN ITS THE NAME OF WAREHOUSE
IF ASSIGN INTERIM STORAGE AREA IN 311 N FIELD SOURCE THEN IT WORKS FINE
BUT IF I ASSIGN INTERIM AT DESTI THEN THE ERROR COMES AS GIVEN IN THE VERY BEGI.

Putaway quantity does not show in Interim Storage Type 916

Hi all,
It could be a silly quesiton however would need your help with the issue below.
When I create Picking TO from Outbound Delivery, usually I will see the Pick Quantity from Source Storage Bin and Putaway Quantity showed in Interim Storage Type 916. However, for the warehouse I'm working on I could not see the Putaway Quantity showing in Sty 916, only Picking Quantity displayed from source storage bin.
For example, I created picking TO# 17439 to pick stock from storage type 001 to destination storage type 916. Here I only see the 'Pick Quantity' showing in storage type 001. I don't see 'Putaway Quantity' shows in Storage Type 916.
Would appreciate if anyone can provide some advices. Thanks.

Storage bin available when posting change is not confirmed completely

Dear Gurus, I have a question for you:
My costumer wants to do a posting change when the material is released from QM with a decision usage from Q to unrestricted use. The process is done in two steps: with LU04 the TO is generated and with LT12 is confirmed. When the TO is generated the position is half confirmed. With LT21 we can see the row for the ST (lets say ST 504 Open Storage type) and a second row 922 TR-ZONE. The first row appears green (as confirmed) and the second row appears red (Not confirmed).
My costumer says that " beacause of the strategy given for the storage entry, the storage bin released in the TO (not confirmed completely yet) is available at this moment.
If the storage bin is still physically full, the carrier will found not space for leaving the goods even SAP is telling him there is space available at this storage bin."
I have read that once yo start a TO the storage bin is blocked until the transaction is fully confirmed.
If this is correct I need to demostrate it and I don not find the way to do it.
I hope you understand my explanation and give me any clue.

From the above it isn't entirly clear that the first part of the T.O. is actualy confirmed, my settings are to autoconfirm this so I have no example to look at in my system. Perhaps the display shows the first line green before any actual confirmation..
I assume the stock status has not changed when you first view the T.O.? If the t.o. is partly confirmed I would expect to see the stock status changed and a neg in 922 until the second part is confirmed. Perhaps there is no confirmation at all yet, in LT21 what is the confirmation status? If you view the transfer order header there would be a partial confirmation showing with a yellow triangle, do you see this or no confirmation indicated at all?

while processing this FM, Iam getting error messages in return table as "Available stock shortfall of & in Interim storage bin".

Searching on the forum you can find threads about WM/PP interface settings.

Whether WM/PP interface is active it depends on your config and master data as well.
You should check:
- config: SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > Define Production
- master data: routing (proper work center is assigned), work center (proper production supply area), material master(FG) (production scheduling profile), control cycle (components)
In standard system storage type 100 is defined as an interim storage type (you can compare it to storage type 902, 914, 916, etc). In control cycles (WM master data; LPK1/LPK2/LPK3) you define for each components which is the production storage type.
In standard system storage type 914 is not used with material staging. 914 s.t. related scenario: GI (261) --> stock removel from normal storage type to interim storage type (914).
100 s.t. related scenario: stock removal from normal s.t. to interim s.t. 100 --> GI (261).

Diagnosis
In Customizing, the setting is such that no negative stock is allowed in storage type 916. However, this posting will cause negative stock to exist in storage bin 0000000000 of storage type 916. "
Can anyone help me ?

I created cutomazing in Spro>Logistic Execution>Warehouse management>Activities>Transfer>Define Movement types :
- Movement Type = 161 (Returns PO)
- Dest                  = 916
- Shipment Type   = A (Stck removal)
- Requirement type =    B Purchase Order
- manual TO creation not allowed
- manual TR creation not allowed
And then I created TO with LT01 using move type 161 and requirement type = B
Now stock in Storage Type 916 was there with qty 1000
But When try again to Create GR (MIGO-161- PO return)
the error still "50012541 ; available stock in interim storage bin around 1,000.000 KG below target

Auto-copy putaway quantity in Inbound for Non-WMS storage location

Dear All SAP Gurus,
I need to create an inbound delivery document for non-WM managed storage location and "copy" the quantity into the "putaway quantity" field automatically. Is there any setting to do this automatic assignment? As far as I know, if the storage location is non-WM managed, we usually need to manually enter the putaway quantity as part of the verification process during the PGR (goods receipt).

I am doing the movement type 261 in MIGO with reference to a reservation.
I am working with Warehouse Management and I want to know why the system is defined in automatic the storage type 100?
When I am doing the movement 261, I know that I have stock in the storage type 007 and I am putting this, but, the system is showing the following error message:
100000000026; Available stock shortfall of 10.000 M2 in interim storage bin
Message no. L9040
Diagnosis
In Customizing, the setting is such that no negative stock is allowed in storage type 100. However, this posting will cause negative stock to exist in storage bin HE01 of storage type 100.
For my storage type 100 I do not have defined any strategy in the customising.
Could you help me with this, please?

Putaway-P & storage BIn clarrification

Am new to WM, can you pl help me in understanding the below scenario's??
Say We have 2 materials, MATERIAL-X & MATERIAL-Y.
Will assume ABC as storage type with putaway strategy say" P" - Storage unit type , and bin capacity is 20.
Scenario: 1
On 15.10.2010 we received MATERIAL-X = 10 qty, and moved to storage bin XYZ
On same day on 15.10.2010 we received another MATERIAL-Y =10 qty.
can we send MATERIAL-Y to bin XYZ?
What is the config required in storage type for moving it to same bin or to next bin?
Scenario: 2
On 15.10.2010 we received MATERIAL-X = 10 qty, and moved to storage bin XYZ
On same day another consignment received 15.10.2010 same material MATERIAL-X = 10 qty,
Can we move MATERIAL-X to bin XYZ Bin?
What is the config setting required for moving to same bin or to another bin?
Scenario: 3
On 15.10.2010 we received MATERIAL-X = 10 qty, and moved to storage bin XYZ

It depends upon strategy maintained for storage type ,check in config. what strategy you have maintained for particular storage type where material will be stored.

Here (in the same screen) can we change destination storage section(allowed) and bin(allowed) ?

Destination bin change during confirmation = 1 allowed ( i understand , it means we can change distination storage bin during TO confirmation )
Secondly, i know we can enter storage type, section and bin in LT04 main screen, and go to "Palletization".

More than one Quant in a Storage bin section (Strategy P)

Dear all,
We have a Storage type with Putaway strategy P, the SUT check active but no SU Management active, Mixed storage = X and Addition to stock = X.
For this Storage type, our Storage bin type and SUT we have set up in customizing a Bin sectioning 3 meaning the Storage bin is divided into 3 sections so a maximum of 3 Quants per Storage bin. Note that other Bin sectionings have also been set up.
During testing I found out a Storage bin section can only contain one Quant at a time.
Because of Addition to stock = X we can add more quantities of the same Material/Batch to a Storage bin secion that already contains stock of this particular Material/Batch.
If I try to add a Material/Batch to a Storage bin section that already contains stock of another Material/Batch (so, a different Quant), the system gives me an error:
Bin item X in storage bin Y already occupied
Message no. L3063
Now physically for the mentioned SUT our Storage bin is divided into 3 Storage bin sections/pallet places and on a pallet it should be allowed to put multiple Materials/Batches at a time, that is why we set Mixed storage = X in customizing.
Now we can only put one Quant (so one Material/Batch) in a Storage bin section at a time;
We want to be able to put more Quants into a Storage bin section at a time.
How can we achieve this?
Note we rather donu2019t want to use Storage Unit Management.

Hi Bart,
As a thumb rule you cannot have one quant with multiple Materials. Ofcourse you can keep on adding same material /batch is the same quant i.e. in the same Bin section where you already put the material.
Quick win for your case is Increase the number of quants allowed say 15. In this case you can keep on storing different material / batches on the same pallet but system will keep on generating sections.
At any point of time you can easily track how many quants (Mat + quantity) are stored in that Bin & relevant section.
For strategy P , SUT check must be activated you cannot skip it.
If Business is not ready to work with more number of sections , you can always think of mapping another startegy ..you could do more test with Bulk Storage.
To my knowledge Strategy I i.e. Addition to existing stock with Mixed storage Indicator will work very well here.
You just need to map appropriate Capacity check as startegy I goes with active capacity.
