Quarter fold card template for pages

I've just bought a mac mini and love it.
I'm still moving over from MS products to Apple and it's going pretty well apart from MS Publisher.
This still seems to be better at certain things than Pages.
One issue is the lack of templates for cards in particular.
Does anyone know where i can get hold of a quarter fold card template for Pages?
I did see one but it was for Pages 09 and version 5.5.2 doesn't seem to open it.

You can use a free Avery for MS Word Greeting Card. Click the Template Only (works with PC and Mac) radio button, and then download. Open in Pages v5.5.2, and first save as a Pages document in your Documents folder. Set the font, etc. to what you want in your Quarter-fold card template. Once you have done that, from the File menu, select Save as Template, and give it a name. While you are there, observe what a right-click on the template name presents in a pop-up menu.
When you open Pages without specifying a document, it will default to a Template Chooser. Your Quarter-fold template is parked in the User Templates category.
Pages v5.5.2 is not designed to compete as a true Desktop Publishing/Layout application. If you want to open Publisher documents on the Mac, get a free copy of LibreOffice, which will open them. Since it is not Publisher itself, your mileage will vary on layout accuracy. The LibreOffice PDF documentation is available, and created with LibreOffice. Since this is a superset, MS Office replacement package, there is a forms designer in the Writer application, and the ability to open PDF and edit them also exists. There is also complete Visio support from the first version to the latest.
When you first launch LibreOffice, you must click the open button in the initial dialog, and afterwards, a double-click will open it normally. This will be true for any Mac applications obtained outside the OS X App Store.

  • I am printing a Quarter fold card, using a IMac Desktop.

I am printing a Quarter fold card, using a IMac Desktop. The "printable area" is small for all panels to print on. How can I change manually the printable area size, somewhere in the "Printers Folder" ?  I know I can't change the size of the printable area with just the regular settings.     I have an HP 6540 printer.   Please advice.

Welcome back to the forums @Macdog64
I read your post about changing the printable area size, and I am honestly unsure if this can be done. I would suggest trying the HP Photo Creations software to see if you can change the area size. It could be worth a shot!
    Good luck

  • Half fold & quarter fold cards

How do I make a half-fold (takes a full sheet of card stock) or quarter-fold card in PSE 6? When I go into the Create part of PSE it only gives 2 sizes of cards 5x7 and 4x6. The only cards I find locally are the half and quarter fold which are standard Avery templates. I can do these with other programs that don't have a lot of options. I would like to be able to do them in PSE but I don't want to have to fiddle and mess. Does PSE make use of standard Avery templates? IF not is there an easy way to do this?
    thanks

    Gwen,
If you're still around here's one approach. Took a while. Eventually I'll do quarter fold, too.

  • Templates for pages any suggestions for best app around??

I am looking for the best app for additional templates for Pages for my Mac Computer.  I have looked at many different apps but some are really expensive & others are free.  Some have no customer rates and some have terrible rates.  Does anyone know of any reasonably priced???

That is so specific, just google it and use any Word template you find.

  • Template for pages

where can I find template for pages other then ones in program

You can use templates in Word format if you know any good sites for that. You can search for "iWork Pages templates" on the Internet and have a look at http://iworkcommunity.com/
    Also learn more here http://i-work-in-pages.blogspot.com/
    and here http://www.freeforum101.com/iworktipsntrick/
Then some printer companies have good templates. Look at HP and Canon for example. They usually do not have it in Pages format but Word format is fine to use.

  • Recipe template for pages

I want to add an existing recipe template to Pages 08, I've read the support community and downloaded suggestions, but when I try to open it states these are not pages and it will not open.  Do I have to create a template from scratch or is there something out there already that I can plug in and begin using?

I just download a recipe book template for pages '09 that just opened right up.
    The link:

  • Free Templates for Pages ?

    Hi,
Where can we find great templates for Pages ?
    <Edited by Host>
    Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
There are several options for templates you can use in Pages. First, there those submitted by other users & available at iWork Community.
Try Microsoft Office templates. to find links to many PC templates. The Mactopia site has a lot less templates to choose from, but was less involved to download.
Jumsoft.com also has templates, but I'm not sure how many might be free.
An advanced Google search for the exact phrase Pages templates should return a lot of options.

  • How to create a new template for pages in iPad?

How to create a new template for pages in iPad?

In spite of the latest updates Pages for iPad does not support:
    1) User templates
    2) Headers
    3) Footers
    4) Page numbers
and it is not compatible with Pages for OSX, a document cannot be edited alternatively on Mac and iPad without destroying headers and footers.
    - The Word export is far from perfect
    - Does not really support Page Layout mode (you cannot duplicate a page at least)
    - Does not have a multi-page overview
    - The spelling support of iOS and OSX is at the level of Apple Maps except 4-5 languages.
    - It takes a long time until it starts
INSTEAD, according to the latest updates:
    - It can do change tracking
    - Lock and unlock objects
    - Add reflections to shapes
    Dear Apple, please understand:
    - We like iPad and we wish to use it for real work.
    - We wish to have user templates, headers, footers and page numbers.
    - We do not expect all the features of Pages for OSX, but we do expect real compatibility.
    - We do not wish to switch back to Word for Windows unless you force us.
Please try to concentrate on real development not on unimportant changes like in the latest dissapointing update.

  • Is there an APA format template for pages?

I am trying to find an APA format template for pages?  Does one exist?

I do believe there is at least one user-contributed one at iWork Community. Also, you could open any Word template in Pages. You might need to change the file extension from .dot to .doc for Pages to recognize it.

  • Certificate Template for Pages?

Does anyone know where I could find a template for Pages for making award certificates?

Yes, but the templates for Word are tacky.
I actually used to use Appleworks just for making certificates, but I sold my G5 iMac, and my MacBook doesn't have it.
So, let me second the request: are there any certificate templates for Pages?

  • Can you download extra templates for Pages?? If so, is there a template for 4x6 inch index cards??

I am working on finiding a program that will allow me to type index cards for use in my school studing. And so I was wondering if pages has a template for 4x6 inch index cards?? If not can I download one?? And where can I download one?

    Hi a,
The 'template' would be essentially a Custom Page size, set in the Page Setup dialogue.
Go File (menu) > Page Setup... to open the dialogue.
Click the popup menu beside Paper Size, and look for 4x6. If offered a choice, use the one not labeled "borderless". Borderless printing (on my printer) generates 'black' using mostly the three colour ink cartridge—costlier, and less 'black' than the results from the Black cartridge.
If 4 x 6 or 6 x 4 is not available, look for 'Manage Custom Sizes' or similar at the bottom of the list.
Once you have the page set, you can set tabs, type size and font as you wish, place text boxes (if that will help your card organization) and set other features as you wish, then Save the result as a Template.
Saved as a Template, the new template will be available in the My Templates section of the Template Chooser.
    Regards,
    Barry
