Quarter format filter problem??

Hi Gurus,
I have a Quarter prompt with between option and default values are like Q1 2012 and Q4 2012 and values filter based on year values and i selected year values as 2012;2013.
so ideally in report level by default it should display values Q1 2012, Q2 2012, Q3 2012 and Q4 2012.
But its displaying Q1 2012, Q2 2012, Q3 2012 ,Q4 2012, Q1 2013, Q2 2013 as well.
here its filtering on Q1 to Q4 and considering Q1 and Q2 of 2013 values also.
But when i changed the format like 2012 Q1 then the data is filtering appropriately.
But i need Q1 2012 format only. please anyone help me how to achieve this.

    You cannot use Q when inputting data, only when retrieving data. When inputting, you must enter a valid date. Oracle has to store a date and if you just enter a quarter, it can't figure out what date to store. See the examples below:
    SQL> -- test table:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE test_table
      2    (test_date DATE)
      3  /
    Table created.
    SQL> -- the wrong way to input:
    SQL> INSERT INTO test_table (test_date)
      2  VALUES (TO_DATE ('2002-1', 'YYYY-Q'))

    VALUES (TO_DATE ('2002-1', 'YYYY-Q'))
    ERROR at line 2:
    ORA-01820: format code cannot appear in date input format

  • Data format inconsistency problem on Discoverer 4i plus and Desktop 4.1

    I encountered 'data format inconsistency' problem when using
    Discoverer 4i plus web version vs Desktop version 4.1 to run the
    same report :-
    The result returned by Desktop version is as following:-
    Employee Count Percent Employee Count
    Mgt 202 18%
    Occ 891 81%
    Other 1 0%
    Percent 1094 100%
    The result returned by 4i web version is like the following:-
    Employee Count Percent Employee Count
    Mgt 202 18%
    Occ 891 81%
    Other 1 0%
    Percent 109400% 100%
    Pls note that the Employee count column is 1094 in Desktop
    version whereas in web version it's 109400%
    After I export the data to Ms Excel, I obtained below result :-
    Employee Count Percent Employee Count
    Mgt 202 0.184644
    Occ 891 0.814442
    Other 1 0.000914
    Percent 1094 1
    I would like to know if this is Oracle Discoverer bug or it's a
    known issues ?

  • Alv grid filter problem

    Hi all,
    I have a problem when filtering data in alv (I use REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY FM). The problem is that data is truncated in the matchcode of the filter.
    I've seen several threads talking about this, but was not able to find the right solution for me... a lot of notes, and I think I shouldn't have to install all of them.. should I?

  • Filter problem with operating system in french

    Hello,
    There is a problem with the "Operating System - Windows" filter in the french version of ZCC.
    If you create a bundle and go into "Requirements" and add a filter with Operating system and you set it to "Version 6.1 - Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2" you get this error
    "Vos modifications ne peuvent pas tre appliques pour les raisons suivantes :
    ErreurLa version doit tre sous la forme "x" "x.x.x.x". "
    "You changes cannot be applied for the following reason : formatting must be x to x.x.x.x"
    The format should be "6.1 - Windows 7 /Windows Server 2008 R2 Versions".
    The filter does work as intended with the english versions of ZCC. I have no problem with that but some of our admin does.
    PS : I am currently unable to open an SR because our licence has not been renewed yet. So i am reporting this here.

    In 11.3 the value seems to be:
    windows.versions.6.1=Versions 6.1 - Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2
    But should probably be set to:
    windows.versions.6.1=6.1 - Versions Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2
    And the correct Linux path would be: /opt/novell/zenworks/resources/properties/com/novell/zenworks/core/web/internal/resources/CoreInternal_fr.properties.
    This bug would probably take them a minute or two to fix, sad to hear that it's been there since 11.

  • Upload file - filter problem

    I have a problem with upload file using JSF RI 1.1 + tomahawk.
    I think that the problem is in the web.inf filter definition because I get these warns:

    I don't have org.apache.myfaces.webapp.filter.ExtensionsFilter in my libraries, I only have org.apache.myfaces.component.html.util.ExtensionsFilter. I also tried to change it, but it still don't work...

  • Iptable-filter problem

    I am having trouble using iptables on my computer.
    When I try to start the iptables service, it fails with the error
    iptables-restore v1.4.19.1: iptables-restore: unable to initialize table 'filter'
    So it seems that iptable_filter isn't being loaded and modprobe returns this message:
    modprobe iptable_filter
    modprobe: ERROR could not insert 'iptable_filter': Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
    So it seems like a kernel problem? I have restarted multiple times since the last Linux update.

  • FrameMaker CGM Filter problem

    I have the latest FrameMaker CGM filter installed on my machine (downloaded from the PTC website (formerly ITEDO). However, when I convert an SGML file that has CGM images referenced in it, FrameMaker returns errors that there is insufficient memory to import the image and as a result of this it omits the graphics element and invalidates the structure. The images itself are <1kB, so the size should not be a problem. However, I noticed a problem a while ago that the CGM filter doesn't handle CGM files that have a transparent background very well. Are there any plans between Adobe and PTC to update the filter?

    From my perspective just one gig of RAM is barely minimal -- with RAM being fairly cheap these days it would definitely be worth seeing if you can add more to your system (if, of course, the gods of the IT dept. are in your corner <g>) <br /><br />The seeming inconsistency of the problem occurring is one indication that "something" isn't right with the system, either because there's not enough RAM to start with, or there's a memory leak on the system, or that you don't have enough free disk space for Windows / FM to properly render the graphic display. I don't know what the specifics are for CGM, but many graphics formats need an inordinately huge amount of swap space on the system in order to display correctly because they're a compressed format. <br /><br />Better results when you're replacing one graphic for another doesn't really work as a conclusive test, there could be something ideosyncratically intensive in the first file that is avoided in the second one. <br /><br />I don't have any specific references for this, but it seems to me that rendering transparency is a fairly "processor intensive" graphic operation, so by turning off transparency you may be avoiding the issue in some graphics but not in others. <br /><br />Another slight possibility might be something to do with your graphics card drivers (have they been updated recently?). <br /><br />here's some interesting reading: http://www.itedo.de/E/119_133.php

    Hi Sankar,
    Do you mean to say like you get a dump when you enter some value in the filter field & press on enter while there is no data in the table?
    If yes then give it a try in this manner. I haven't tried it out myself but its just a guess. You would have created an event handler for the FILTER event of your table. Say suppose your action handler method is ONACTIONON_FILTER then within this method you would be saying something like:
    METHOD onactionon_filter .
    " TABLE_CONTROL is TYPE REF TO IF_WD_TABLE_METHOD_HNDL
    " Within WDDOMODIFYVIEW I obtain & save the reference of my table into TABLE_CONTROL
      wd_this->table_control->apply_filter( ).
    ENDMETHOD.
    So instead of directly calling the apply_filter method first try to obtain the data being displayed in the table by using get_static_attributes_table method. Then check if the table is initial & call the apply_filter method only if the table is having some data.

  • Filter problem in the report

    Experts,
    We have a problem with Filter on Costcenter taking very very long time . When we click on Filter button  on Cost center after executing a BW report, then a new window opens and nothing happens after that with a blank white screen in the filter window.  We have tried so many options to improve performance but only one thing worked out as a work around.
    I have deleted enteried in the master data table using TC SE14 and then reloaded master data. Then filter on this working now with in 1 min. But we have process chains running every day loading Master data .Once these process chains finish again when we filter on Cost center on the next day, now the problem still exists , takes long time to for filter window to open up. Is there any way to delete master data entries delete automatically. Any advice appreciated .

    Hi Kiran,
    Is that u are doing the master data full upload?
    Try to do delta loads.
    If it is the client specific. Create a process chain to delete the same master data contents. and schedule the process chain to run daily night or just before the master data loads happen, so that it will not affect the runtime. Else have to delete the same manually.

  • Using Session Variable with Conditional Formatting Filter

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add a condition to my report in order to flag all opportunities that have a close date that is in the past. The way I'm trying to do this is by adding a condition to say when close date is less than current_date, flag the column with an image.
    Issue I'm having is that the filter window within conditional format tab appears to not have the session variable option as you do when you create a filter on a column the normal way. A colleague told me to use an SQL expression, but again this option seems to be unavailable too within the conditional format tab.
    Can anybody assist please?

    Create a new column and write a CASE WHEN condition like case when close date < current_date then 'Y' ELSE 'N' END.
    Then on your actual date column, you can do conditional analysis based on the newly created column for values having Y then the image.
    finally, you can hide the newly created column.

  • NTFS format partition problem - install Windows 8.1

    I cannot install Windows 8.1 from USB via bootcamp, on Mavericks late 2013 rMPB 15"
    When I get towards the end of the Windows Setup screen the Bootcamp partition is showing as not NTFS format
    There is no 'advanced options' to click, under the 4 partition options.
    I have pressed Option and tried installing through either the 'Windows' partition and the 'EFI' partition - both have the NTFS format problem.

  • PS CS5 PDF Large Format Printing Problem

    I had to create a file for a sign (9 feet by 20 feet - 100 dpi) in PS CS5. Problem is I now need to send it to the sign printer. I need to make a PDF from the file but the save as makes the file size bigger than the PSD even with changing the compression settings. The other problem is I cannot print to PDF as when I try that the Acrobat X save as dialogue box never appears. The screen just goes back to the artwork. I have deleted the preferences, reinstalled Acrobat, etc. What can I do here?

    To maintain vector output capability from Photoshop in PDF you can't output PDF by way of printing and using Acrobat Distiller. From the File Menu you choose Save As and then select Photoshop PDF from the list of file formats. It will retain vector data from embedded fonts and vector shape layers. I just tested it using Photoshop CS 5.5 64-bit and then viewing the results in Acrobat X.
    That being said, Photoshop is a crude tool for passing along vector-based artwork. I don't like the vector shape layers feature very much at all because I find it very user un-friendly. I very much prefer to use Adobe Illustrator in conjunction with Photoshop. It's so much easier to control. I often paste AICB formatted paths into Photoshop's paths palette via the clipboard and then use the vectors as sources to create fills and other things. I'll manually create clipping paths on photos in Photoshop and save TIFF images with the clipping paths active to knock out the background when placing the TIFF in an InDesign or Illustrator layout. I'll create other vector objects in Photoshop to later export in .AI format to Illustrator. Ultimately the end result winds up in Illustrator as a single page layout or in InDesign as a multi-page layout. Both Illustrator and InDesign are far more capable than Photoshop at combining vector-based art and raster-based art together. When you save a PDF from InDesign or Illustrator there is no doubt your raster content and vector content will remain intact. Like the solution with Photoshop, in InDesign and Illustrator you simply choose to save the file in PDF format. No need for using the print to PPD and Acrobat Distiller post process step. Distiller comes in very handy for creating PDFs from lots of non-Adobe applications.
