Queries on Tuxedo 8.0 running on Tandem - OSS.

Hi,
I have few queries on Tuxedo 8.0 running Tandem-OSS:
a) Does Tuxedo 8.0 running on Tandem OSS supports multi-threading?
b) When is the Obsolete data for Tuxedo 8.0 running on Tandem - OSS?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sagar

Hi !
We have the same problem, but if you put a empty dummy lic.txt in the directory it works fine.
Do you have any news what the problem is ?
Is that a bug ?

  • Queries taking long time to run

    Hi BW Folks,
I am working on virtual cube 0bcs_vc10 for bcs(business consolidation) the base cube is 0bcs_c10. We compressed and partitioned the base cube. The queries which i developed are running fine and are in production.
Now  when a new req came for some more queries after developing them and running in DEv they are taking 20 to 25 mins to run.
Suprisingly the queries which are running in production they are also taking long time to run, we havent disturbed the performance tuning process we did earlier .
Can any one of share their experience in how to tackle this. Will assign full points
    THanks

    Hi Nick,
Do you have a lot of navigational attributes?  That could be slowing you down.  Also, if it's going too slow, try caching and pre-calculation (pre-loads the cache).  Although I'm not sure if this will work with a Virtual Cube.  By their nature they will be much slower than a physical cube.....so worst case scenario for me would be to load the VC data into a regular cube.  If the query is still slow, then at least you know it's a query issue and not the VC.

  • PCR quering wrong Absence Type while running TE live

    Hi,
I'm facing a strange issue with running TE live. There is a Absence Type XXXX maintained for a particular day. When i run the TE live for that particular day, what happens in the Schema is...there is a rule which is quering a different Absence type  YYYY which is not at all maintained for that particular day.
Because of this wrong quering of Absence type, the absence hours is going to different time type.
But when i run the TE in simulation, the same PCR is quering the right Absence type XXXX.
    This is strange for me.
Can anyone tell me...wht could be the reasons for this wrong quering.
    Thanks in Advance
    Sarath

    i guess u r checking B2 cluster and Simulation run ???!!!!
Check B2 cluster, Absece Table, check which AB has been updated for that particular date.
and cross check if the same is existing in Infotype 2001 for the same day.
Might be, user has changed the Absence type yyyy from xxxx.
So, in simulation mode system will take current AB type into calculation.

  • All queries in workflow 2.5 running on 10g slow .. recently

    Hello,
I would really appreciate any help in this regards. I have a table that has
350,000 records in the database. We recently migrated from 9i to 10g.
    select context from wf_notifications
    where begin_date > sysdate - 1;
While in 9i, the following query used to run under a second.
While in 10g, the following query ran for 6 minutes.
    (# of rows returned = 11)
if we modify the query to THE following, then it takes about 10 seconds.. but
not as efficient as 9i but acceptable.
select /*+ RULE */ [col] from [table]
    where [date_col] > sysdate - 1;
PLEASE HELP. WHAT WENT WRONG. Respond to [email protected]
    Regards

    Hi,
Probably not the answer that you're after, but...
I think that only workflow release 2.6.3 is certified against a 10g database. I don't think that 2.5 is supported against the most recent database releases - if you check certify it will tell you.
Sorry that doesn't answer your problem, but you might find that you need to upgrade to the latest version of WF to match your DB level.

1     ICloud seems to have lost a great many of my sent messages.  I have a few recent ones and then some from 2012 and a few others going back to 2010.
I rely on the iCloud sent mesages to know what I have said to people.  Are they lost forwever or can they be retrieved  ??
2  occasionally I get spurious messages on my iPhone  they are all dated in 1970 have no contents and  cannot be deleted and then some of them dissappear again

Log in to the iCloud website and check your mail. Are the missing messages there? If not, what backups do you have?

  • Hyper-V on Desktop (Same PC as is running the Guest OSs)

Desperately searching for a way to run Hyper V (non-Windows role) (Type 1 - Baremetal.)  on my desktop machine and run ALL OS's as guests. I like the idea of just running the VMS without another OS running the Hypervisor and the HV running the guest
OS. Waste of resources plus Windows 8.1 Recovery is dodgy at best. VMs can be copied and snapshotted with ease.
    Can this be done ????

    Hi,
Hyper-V is the full virtualization technology, Microsoft only support Hyper-V install on the bare metal computer. You can try install the multi version system on the same
disk then boot up the needed system then install the Hyper-V role.

  • Tuxedo running on AS400 or running applications of AS400 on Tuxedo .

    Hi,
Please share how and what is beneficial for the customer using AS/400.
    1. To run the existing AS400 applications on Oracle tuxedo running in AS400
    OR
    2. To run applications of AS/400 on Oracle Tuxedo on different platforms like intel x64.
    Any references ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I'm not an AS400 expert (or even all that knowledgeable about AS400), that being said, the advantage I see is that moving their applications onto Tuxedo would allow them to run their applications on any Tuxedo supported platform and remove their dependence on an IBM proprietary OS. Tuxedo applications can run on AS400, OpenVMS, AIX, Solaris, Linux, HPUX, Windows, and other platforms. As well their applications gain the benefits that Tuxedo provides, namely performance, virtually unlimited scalability, and unmatched reliability. As I said, I'm not an AS400 expert, but I know many customers that have moved their CICS, IMS, GCOS, and other applications to Tuxedo and have achieved significant reductions in TCO.

  • How to View Queries run by Users in Enterprise Manager 10g?

I want to view all the queries as an Administrator, being run by all the Users on Oracle Database, where can I view in Enterprise Manager 10g ?
In Microsoft Sql Server 2000, there is a utility called "Sql Profiler" which does this purpose, any idea please ?
    Best Regards,

The "Performance" tab is part of the Tuning Pack, list price USD3000 per CPU or something to that effect. So I use good ole SQLPLUS and this sql(below). This sql includes global views for RAC which can just be changed to v$ for sinlge instance:
    column osuser format a10;
    set linesize 500;
    set pagesize 0;
    select sid, serial#, to_char(logon_time, ' YYYYMMDD, HH24:MI:SS'),
    osuser, sql_text
    from gv$session, gv$sqltext
    where gv$session.sql_address=gv$sqltext.address
    order by sid, piece;

  • Precision Changes when running parallel queries in Oracle?

I am trying to speed up our SQL queries and database draws by running parallel queries. However, we are noticing a slight difference in one of our queries. We have identified two possible reasons. One of those reasons is parallel queries for some reason have either less or more precision than what we were doing.
Has this ever been reported before? Is it even possible? Thanks for any help.

  • Run several queries

I have several update queries that I want to run one at a time until: (0 row(s) affected) is in the message box. Once the query runs without any updates, I need the process to move to the next query.  I found some articles that talk about
macros, but could not locate the tools within SMS. I have very little experience with SQL Server Management Studio, so please excuse me if the answer is abundantly simple.
    Bruce

    1.  I have multiple queries that identify and correct null values in a given field. When the null value is identified the value in the preceding record which is the last known good value is updated into the field with the null value.
    2.  Running said query one time does not ensure that all the null conditions have been properly addressed. The only way to ensure that all the conditions have been addressed is to run the query until the row count equals zero.
    3.  The first code that I have listed: WHILE 1 = 1 BEGIN UPDATE [Master Archive] SET [BackPress 1] = [Nulls BackPress 1].Trial FROM [Nulls BackPress 1]INNER
JOIN [Master Archive] ON [Nulls BackPress 1].SiteID = [Master Archive] .SiteID AND [Nulls BackPress 1].NewTime = [Master Archive] .NewTime
WHERE  ([Nulls BackPress 1].[BackPress 1] IS NULL) AND ([Nulls BackPress 1].Trial IS NOT NULL) IF @@ROWCOUNT = 0 BREAK;END Will run the query until row count equals zero, this ensures that all the null conditions have been addressed.
    4.  I have over fifty (50) queries that have to be run. The code above will only run a single query. This Forum has shared with me how to run multiple queries in sequence, however the code will only run each query one time, which is not what
I am trying to achieve. I need every query to run until row count equals zero and then proceeds to the next query.
The following code will run many queries in sequence, but only once:
UPDATE [Master Archive] SET [BackPress 1] = [Nulls BackPress 1].Trial FROM [Nulls BackPress 1]INNER JOIN [Master Archive] ON [Nulls BackPress 1].SiteID = [Master Archive] .SiteID AND [Nulls BackPress 1].NewTime = [Master Archive] .NewTime
WHERE  ([Nulls BackPress 1].[BackPress 1] IS NULL) AND ([Nulls BackPress 1].Trial IS NOT NULL) IF @@ROWCOUNT = 0 RINT 'One Done' PDATE [Master Archive] SET [DiffPress 1] = [Nulls DiffPress 1].Trial FROM     [Nulls DiffPress 1]INNER
JOIN [Master Archive] ON [Nulls DiffPress 1].SiteID = [Master Archive] .SiteID AND [Nulls DiffPress 1].NewTime = [Master achive] .NewTime HERE  ([Nulls DiffPress 1].[DiffPress 1] IS NULL) AND ([Nulls DiffPress 1].Trial IS NOT NULL) F @@ROWCOUNT =
0 RINT 'Two Done'; Note: the print statements are there just to validate the running of the queries, they will not be necessary once I have validated the query
There has to be a way to code the first example so that multiple queries can be run from a single query, I just am not experienced enough to figure it out on my own.
    5. In summation: each query must run until row count equals zero, then proceed to the next query

  • Weblogic JMS in Tandem

    Hi,
Is it possible for an application running in Tandem server to post a
message in a Message Queue running in Unix with Weblogic?
              Thx in advance

    Hi Ravi,
              Short question, long answer!
I guess the question is "Does WebLogic run on Tandem". I don't know.
The WL client might, but the server might not. If the server does run
(it is pure java after all), I suspect that the native socket drivers
are not supported and that it will have to use the java socket drivers.
I suggest contacting a BEA account rep to see what is supported.
If your interested in a C client that is another story - one can use
Tuxedo's C client which can talk directly to WebLogic directly
via IIOP. It can't talk JMS, but it can talk to an EJB which
              could in turn talk JMS.
If you actually have a Tuxedo server, you could use
Tuxedo's "Jolt" java client or Tuxedo's C client
to talk to Tuxedo and in turn use WebLogic's built-in
"WTC" bridge to forward the requests into WebLogic.
Additionally, since WebLogic understands IIOP, and the later JVMs
have built-in IIOP capability, I think you can invoke a WebLogic
service that in turn invokes JMS without any WebLogic code at all!
Post to the rmi-iiop newsgroup for info.
You can also use a web-service to post to a queue (basically
a servlet). This has lower performance and QOS but may suffice
for your purposes. There is a built-in web-service for this
purpose, but I don't know how to activate it. Or even
where to look it up in the docs. (Sorry.)
Finally, if you have a messaging engine that is JMS capable
running on Tandem, you can use the JMS bridge or even an MDB
to get the messages. (See the "Using Foreign JMS Providers
With WebLogic Server" whitepaper available on dev2dev.bea.com.
              Hope this helps,
              Tom

Use DBMS_SUPPORT to set trace in another users session
Next use the interface to again set trace for SCOTT's session that we found earlier. here it is:
         SQL> exec dbms_support.start_trace_in_session(10,20,waits=>true,binds=>false);

  • How do i access multiple bex queries in one crystal reports??

    Hello Experts,
I have 10 cubes and 30 bex queries on it and i need to create 3 final crystal reports on these 30 queries.
I am on BI 4.0 & CR 2011. but my client is not on correct SAP patch ie., he is on 15+ but he must be on 23+ to access multiple bex queries on CR 2011 Database expert. (I am unable to see bex queries in Database expert to link couple of bex queries)
And my client env doesnt have SAP EP for SAP BW Netweaver Connection to create a connection to access cubes or queries in IDT.
Do my client env need EP? so that SAP BICS Connection will work in IDT?
How do i approach to achive this...
    Thank you...

    Hi,
have you checked the option "allow external access" in your query? SAP Toolbar will find all queries but the database export needs this flag to be set.
Using multiple queries within one crystal report is using the "multi database join feature" of crystal reports. You can link your queries by key fields and crystal will join them in memory. So when there are many queries or many datarows this can be a huge performance killer.
Actuallly one of our customers is running a report which has more than 20 BEx queries linked together. It runs just fine.
Please be sure to set your joins correctly. E.g. crystal will try to make a join on the "key figures" sturcture if you let it create a suggestion or it will try to link on all fields of an infoobject. This will bring MDX errors.
So you should be setting your joins correctly - the [infoobject]-[20infoobject] fields are fine for that.
I hope you can use some of my words.
    Regards
    Thorsten

  • Running a query On OIM Database inside an adapter task

    Hi,
How can I run a SQL query to get some value from OIM database table inside an adapter task? How do I get Db connection without using JDBC API inside adapter task?
    Thanks in advance

create a variable in the adapter factory of type object , map to adapter references- > qualifier database reference.
you can then use this variable, in your method signature where it requires a database instance. using this database instance you can run sql queries.
if you need to run a stored procedure, then simply create an adapter -> Fucntional Task-> Stored procedure.
