Hi Experts,
I have few basic queries related with OIM 11.1.1.3
1) Can we use GTC connector to export data of users (Newly created users on daily basis) to CSV file?
I think No, But just wanted to confirm with you guys.
2) The LdapConfig utils in OIM11.1.1.3 provides facility to replicate the users in OID. Like whenever I am creating a user in OIM..Its creating it in OID as well.
My question here is:
a) Since we dont have any process form here so how can i add a new attribute in the data which is getting created in OID through OIM? Like I want to provision a custome attribute along with existing attributes..how will i achieve this?
b) In OIM11.1.1.3, In what scenario we can use OID connector and LdapConfig settings? Like..when to use connector..for provisoning data in OID.

We have process form. We don't have Object Form but we have Request Dataset for that.
But since my OID is configured using LdapConfig and I am not using OID connector. So I dont see any process form associated with my OID.
How can i add new attribute here (Suppose carLicense I need to provision to OID)?
You'll use OID connector when you'll have OID as a target system.
Even I am not using any connector but my users are succesfully created in OID..using OIM 11g.
So I just wanted to know..under what circumstances we should go for LdapConfig(Auto OID user creation) and OID connector in OIM 11g

Help required related with OIM 11g Email Notification

Experts,
I have a requirement where I have to pass the User's Password through autogenerated email.
But I have a scenario where I dont have to provision any target resource for users..so i dont have access to Notification Tab for such kind of users.
I thought of writing a custom Event Handler to send email using custom code.
But IN OIM 11g , I found that Inside, Advanced->Notification Template-> Create User Self Service Notification … is getting triggered with UserID: $userLoginId<br> and its woking fine.
But once I added Password: $password<br> In the same template, its not providing me the password.
So I think the Parameters associated with this Event "Self register user" does not have $password.
Is there any way to check which all parameters can be accessed in these Events?
Also, what is the best way to send password to users who does not any target resources associated?

Hi I am trying to get the Create User Self Service Notification template working but for some reason I get an error in the log saying unexpected error occured while sending notification. and I am not recieving any mails..I have done the following steps
created an IT resource with the name same as the value of Email Server property
have made the value of RequestNotification property 1
is there anything else I need to do..
Can you also give some details as to how you have created the IT Resource...is the authentication true/false if true does any username and password do..

After new weblogic domain configuration with oim 11g, not able to login

After new weblogic domain configuration with oim 11g, not able to login for the frist time as xelsysadm.
it says invalid sign in. and in logs it says password is invalid.
Please help me in asap...

Thanks Pallavi for the effort. I tried commenting out, its still the same. It do not throw exception this time. However, It tells me that the recon event is completed and linked to user. When I go to user's profile, I dont see the resource provisioned.
Also,
The Account ID in recon manager of Web Console and the Account ID that is stored in the tables, doesn't match.
I wrote a custom code to fetch account and user details and here is the output,
User Key : 13 -- has Login Id : USER_CS
Account with account key : 49 is with user key : [USER_CS]
Getting Account Data......
{UD_TEST_1P_EMPLOYEENUMBER=1567, UD_TEST_1P_NAME=Kim1}
However the Account Id in recon manager is : 91
This seems fine.
Doesn't this mean, the account is reconciled successfully?
The problem is that, I am not able to see this resource in User's resource profile.

SJSDS recon issue with oim 11g

I got the following logging message while reconciling SJSDS (sun directory server) with oim 11g. All the recon statuses were success (group, role, user, trusted user), but no data was from SJSDS.
Did anyone has any idea about it?

As the log says thats not an exception. Anyway why dont you enable the connector logs and see what does the connector complaint about. Refer the Enable Logging section in the connector PDF

SOAP API integration problem with OIM 11g R1

Hi,
We're facing a problem when we are attempting to provision for a third party Web Service application in OIM 11g R1.
During development and test running in an IDE environment, JDeveloper, the soap wsdl requests are triggered and a response is received successfully. However, when we shift the work and integrate it with OIM using design console, there seems to be an error indicating an invalid wsdl location. We have used the super class Exception, in try-catch block for handling of the exceptions. Please see the log message.

Thanks a lot for the response. But, when i deployed the composite SAR in to the server from Jdeveloper, i checked the option to "Overwrite any existing composite with same revision ID". SO, i used the same revision ID (Say 1.0), will this also need to be disabled?

AD Password Sync connector 9.1.1 With OIM 11g R2 - ERROR OVER SSL

I have set up AD password sync with from AD to OIM 11G R2
The password syncs from AD to OIM 11G R2 on non ssl port 389.
But if fails on SSL Port 636.

Steps Carried Out thus far:_
AD is up and running.
Configured AD Password Sync Connector on 636 and selected ssl.
Created Certificate on OIM host, configured custom identity key store on weblogic. Restarted Weblogic.
Imported Certificate to AD. After this, restarted the AD
I can Telnet port 636 from OIM Box and also connect to AD through LDAP Browser on 636 and view OU and CN, so this seems fine.
Provisioning from OIM through Connector Server to AD works over SSL and this works fine.
Help would be appreciated.

This question is now been fixed.
Instead of explicitly stating 636 for SSL,
Use the same port 389 for ssl and also configured oim port to be 140001 which is the ssl port for oim in the configuration of OIM Password Sync.
Export Certificates from AD to java security keystore and to weblogic keystore
Export .pem certificate created on OIM host machine to AD.
Restart weblogic, oim and AD
Everything would work fine.

Make sure that the Remote Manager Service name is the same in the following two locations
1. In OIM Design Console, under IT Resource of Type "Remote Manager" you specify the service name. I believe this must be set to RManager1.
2. Now on the host where you have deployed Exchange Remote Manager, check the xlconfig.xml file and ensure that the service name specified there is also RManager1
Restart the Remote Manager.
Before trying to provision the mailbox, check the status of the Remote Manager from the Design Console -> Administration -> Remote Manager form.

Any idea on Integrating mentioned application with OIM 11g :Need Help

I wanted to integrated below target application to OIM11g. (to manage user life cycle, we also have role management(OIA))
The 7 applications have their own repository, e.g SIPORT uses oracle database tables, PBX uses ms-sql, Lync is AD and other uses file. Employees will need to be provisioned into these application repositories via OIM connectors to provide them with access.
Any approach/help/question would be appreciated.

We are trying to achieve "single sign-on" to windows workstation and then to oracle database in the following way:
- user logs in to his WinXP workstation through Active Directory
- user connects to Oracle 10.2 database (SQL*Plus as " conn / ") without having to type his database password and the user is authenticated by Oracle Internet Directory (user is created in the database as identified globally)
Can we achieve this if AD is integrated with OID and the user's password is the same in both directories?
OID is configured for "password authentication", not for SSL/Kerberos.

OIM 11g setXellerate password fails with weird message on massive usage

Hi,
i have set up trusted reconciliation from a database table with OIM 11g (11.1.1.3). Now, the default password is the concatenation of two other fields and i have built an adapter that uses the setXelleratePassword method to set the OIM user password an attached it to the xellerate reconciliation insert event. Now, when running the reconciliation, the password is correctly set only for the first 10 users or so, after which i get this error for every following event.

the error is quite generic, and does happen only when there is a "massive" reconciliation run. I thought about the open file limit and the connection pool max values, but in the logs there are no errors related

Have you tried to change the reconciliation batch size to 1 or something?
I had something similar with just one account getting updated by my post-process hanndler.
Anyway how did you attach your adapter to the reconciliation insert event? I have been trying to do this but the list that comes back does include the adapter i have created when i tried to select and adapter to run.
Please guide how you did on design console or gui.

Issues with offline provisioning in OIM 11G

We are facing an issue with OIM 11G where we are trying to provision few resources via offline provisioning. Ths issue is that when I do a provisioning/disable/enable on the resource the status of the resource says something like "provisioning in queue/Disable in queue/Enable in queue". This is not happenning all the time but seems to be consistent when I repeatedly disable/enable the resource. Once the status of hte resource remains "in queue" it is never changed back to the actual status which says provisioned/disabled/enabled. Can anyone provide me an insight of what is happenning here and how the offline events are processed within OIM? Is there any way to get the status of the resource back to normal? Please let me know.

Yes I restarted the OIM Server but getting same error.
I have logger in my code and and nothing is getting printed thet menas the code is not getting invoked itself.
My eventhandler is for postprocess and I am not understanding why i am getting PreProcess error.

How to assign approvaal policy for a request template in OIM 11g

When I request for resource in OIM 11g, It's always going for Default approval of xelsysadm.
I want this Request level approval must go to "Beneficiary Manager approval". While requesting I am selecting request template (which I created) for Provision resource as Request type.I have already set "Beneficiary Manager approval" as request level approval for this request template.
I have created one approval policy, How can I assign this approval Policy to request template so that When i submit this request , it should go to my Manager approval.

I do not need approval of Operational level. I want to stop the approval process after request level approval.
Here you are saying to create a new approval policy and set as AUTO Approval as true. There are some default approval policies which comes with OIM 11g and one of the approval policy is trigeering the Operaional level approval. So I think I do not need to create new approval policy and I can use exsting approval policy and modify as you suggested selecting AUTO APPROVAL and create approval rule as request template=="XYZ".
I am not sure which default approval policy trigeering the Operational approval now. Can you pls tell me that?
Can you pls confirm that, there is only way to restrict Opertional Approval by selecting "AUTO APPROVAL" true and put the approval rule as request template=="XYZ"

OIM 11g using too much memory and not releasing it when shutting down

Hello,
we have a problem with OIM 11g using too much memory (about 5gb) and it's not releasing it at shutdown (4gb still used).
We are using a VM with RedHat Linux 5.6. Originally we had 4gb RAM + 2gb swap file. We installed Admin Server, OAM, OIM and SOA on that machine but quickly realised we couldn't run all 4 programs at once in 6gb. AdminServer could run with 2 other products, but it was a tight fit in memory.
So we increased the RAM to 8gb (still 2gb swap file). But then our problem occured : I start the Admin Server (2.7gb total memory used), then OAM (4.6gb total memory used) and then OIM. After it started the server is now using 9.6gb of memory (~300mb of free memory) ! The problem gets even better : after I shut down everything (OIM, OAM, admin server) the "top" command show that there is still 4gb of memory used even tho nothing else is running on the server ! There is absolutely no other process (other than root stuff) running and no other users connected to the machine. After a reboot, it shows 400mb of memory used. I tried restarting the programs and it did the same thing.
Our intuition is that there might be a memory leak or some bug in OIM that might use up almost all the free memory and it's not releasing it upon shutdown. It might have been there before we increased the memory but have not noticed it since memory was already tight.
Anyone encountered the same problem ? Any idea ? Any suggestion to narrow down the problem ?

You can adjust the memory settings for WLS by editing the setSOADomainEnv.sh file that can be found in your /middleware/user_projects/domains/<domain>/bin/ folder. There is an argument called PORT_MEM_ARGS which is used to set your Java memory arguments. This way you can decrease/increase the amount of memory used by each managed server.
I usually type "ps -ef | grep oracle" to see what processes are running by the oracle user. This way the output doesn't get cluttered with root processes.

OIM 11g R1 - Request Type Description Customization (Translation)

Hello Experts,
I'd like a little help to know if it is possible to customizate the following:
OIM is using Browser locale to change the language on Web Console.
Does any one know how to change the translation to the Request Type description (the list from where we need to choose) when we are creating a Request?
Example:
Self-Request Resource = Recurso de Auto-Solicitação (in Brasilian Portuguese - we'd like to change it)
Self De-Provision Resource = Autocancelar Provisionamento de Recurso (in Brasilian Portuguese - we'd like to change it)
We work with OIM 11g R1.
