can some one help me to explore the below mentioned option RMS
1. how can we mark an item as an perishable item in rms
2. where to enter the serial number for an item in RMS.

yeah you are right its an unique number which is assigned to the product by the supplier which is not an barcode or PLU. when i tried to find the same i found vpn and LOV like upc , isbn and oracle retail number etc while i am in the process of creating an item.
i would like to know after we create an oracle retail number or the retailer's own sku number if we want to add multiple ean code and unique serial code how can we execute the same in RMS.
eg 1: a brand of a shampoo will have its common sku number but at the same time it can have multiple ean code/bar codes.
eg 2: mobile phones with common sku number can have IMEI and other codes .

Hi Guys,
When I create a delivery with one ore more sales-bom items and one ore more serial number items and I add one ore more sales-bom items before one of the serial number items the creation of the delivery goes wrong with the following error: "You should use existing serial/batch numbers for this document type [الرسالة 29-51]"
when I add all the seriail number items before the sales-bom items the delivery is created perfectly.
Has anyone seen this error?
It happens at least from SBO 9 PL08 and higher.

Goods Receipt entry for items with serial number

Hi All,
When I try to create a Goods receipt entry, for items with serial number, i'm always getting the following error message.
[OSRI] , 'The selected quantity of serial/batch numbers is greater than the quantity in row Id'

Equipment number and serial number to be carried over to the new item

Hi Friends,
I have an issue regarding the " Equipment number and serial number carried over to the new item " .
AS Per my Business Process i want to reject the old line item and add same Material in that order, while adding the new line item or substituted item , the new item has to pick the old serial number and Equipment number.
For the same We are using BAPI & BDC,
IN BAPI We do not have any function module and in BDC while rejecting the old line item serial number, BDC is not recording the same and default it is Picking Delete serial number as "NO".
Kindly through a light on this issue.

I think you can achieve my making the serial and equipment synchronization in the materiel master. Adjacent to where we specify the serial no profile we can make the setting. I am not in front of the system , kindly check
Also you need to have the internal number range for equipment which should be same as serial number

Thank you for replying Gordon. I did not remember I had asked this before. I no longer have access to the other account.
What I need on the query is that I want a list of items with the on order quantity and when we are expecting this order to be received. The receiving date is based on the PO delivery date. The trick here is that I need to Master sku to show the delivery date of the component sku. In my scenario all components have the same delivery date for the Master sku. If there are mulitple delivery dates because each warehouse is getting them on a different date then I want to get the delivery date for that warehouse.
Let me know if this is possible and if yes please guide towards a query for it.

How do I go about getting the product serial number to register my product as well as install my product. I bought it with a product box. On the software disc sleeve, there is a series of numbers pasted at the bottom of the sleeves but this is not valid

On the software disc sleeve, there is a series of numbers pasted at the bottom of the sleeves but this is not valid. When I tried to type this in for registration, it does register as this numbers also contain letters in it. Apparently the registration boxes accept numbers only. What do I do with a useless product for which I have paid good money for it?????

This is the simple solution which was offered to me when I tried to get the serial code on line.
The box and disc sleeve do not contain a series with 24 numbers which I presume is the product code to install.
I tried to redeem the registration code by following what they recommended, but inevitably it gets to the page that showed the registration boxes that need 24 serial numbers and I got stuck again.
This product is so different what my previous experiences of other software products where I just enter the serial number straight from the disc sleeve and then I got registered and go on to use the software.
I is really frustrating, spending the last two hours trying to get my product going....

Item Category - Serial number status Link

Experts,
What is the link between item category and serial number status in sales document. When I create an outbound delivery for one item category, the serial number in outbound delivery becomes ESTO to ECUS. For another item category it becomes ESTO to ECUS ESTO. How is it maintained.
I want to change the transfer status from ESTO to ECUS instead of ECUS ESTO for one item category. How can I accomplish this. Please advice.

These are system statuses that are maintained and delivered by SAP. They are activated or deactivated by performing an application procedure, or directly.
typically when the Eqpt. is in stock, it will be in ESTO-' in the warehouse' system status.
Once you assign it in a delivery, it will have 2 statuses- EDEL, ESTO- ' In the warehouse' ( as it has not been Goods Issued yet) and ' Assigned in delivery note'.
Once you do a GI of the delivery, I t will be in ECUS- 'At customer site'- status. This is for normal items.
For customer Consignment Fill-up orders, once you deliver and PGI, the eqpt will be in the unusual sounding state of ECUS ESTO, because it is goods issued to a customer at the same time because it is associated with Consignment Fill-up ( and not consignment Issue), it will be in ESTO status as the eqpt is still in our stock. I am guessing even Equipment related Made-to-order (MTO) items will have similar status when received from Production Order to sales order stock.
There is no way you could influence this because this is 'system status' and gets determined by what you did- Transactions like PGI, Good receipt etc.

Add Plant, item and PO number to tcode FAGLL03 as display option

Hi All,
Please explain me the ways to include PLANT, ITEM and PO number in the standard report display. The transaction code is FAGLL03.
It will display the GL line items and using 1SAP-Standard layout, there is no way to select PO number and ITEM in the change layout.
Is there any standard way to solve the issue, other that ABAP Query and ABAP report?
Please provide me your valuable solutions.

I got the fields in the layout and again one more new fiels is required in the layout. That is Material number, i search th item field in the layout change fields list but i am unablt to find it, if you know it how to add a field to layout fields list, please let me know.

Serial number entry after posting delivery doc......

hi experts....
we have a requirement in which in the standard sales cycle of Sales order->delivery document posting ( PGI)-> invoice billing the client wants that serial number entry (which is done at the time of PGI) should be done after invoicing(at the end of the day) because as per the business practice of the client, its not practically feasible for the client to enter serial numbers at the time of selling the finished material. The client manually records the serial numbers on the invoice copy and enters the serial numbers for the respective invoices at the end of the day.
Now while testing the client scenario we found that once PGI & invoicing has been done without entering the serial number for the material, the system does not accept any serial number assignment for that material after the completion of sales cycle.
So is there any solution in which serial number can be entered for a material whose PGI and invoicing has been completed?

Hello,
As you know the system may not allow to enter the serial number details in the delivery --> Extras --> Serial numbers field, once the delivery is completely PGI'ed and invoiced.
But you may change the same in the table by debug mode. You need to update serial number in the material document in the table level also. Contact your ABAP expert, he may be able to guide you properly.

I have a starnge requirement,If a customer gets an ex-change of a Product,
His old Product number and serial number should be changed to new Product
number and Serial number. Keeping the Service Ticket or Service Order
linkages intact ( ie it should list all the ST's created for the Old product
and Serial number.

What is meant by a Product Number ? Are you talking about the Product ID/Title field ?
As per my understanding, an Object is an unique instance of a Product. So, a product is acting like a class, while an Object is like an Instance of a class. So, what can be a possible business scenario to change the Product ID?
Again, each object is uniquely identified by the Serial Number. When you are assigning an Object to a Business Partner, only the Business Partner Id will get changed, but the serial number should remain as it will always identify the object.
It would be better if you provide some more detailed information as to how exactly and what is the exact requirement and the business scenario so that a possible technical solution can be arrived at.

Audition CS6 requires a Serial number entry at every startup

Audition CS6 requires a serial number entry everytime I start the program. How do I fix this.? It is very annoying and If I get locked out of the program before I fix the dance recital music Its not going to go well for me here.

You don't say whether you are on Windows or not, but if so you might try running the program once as an Administrator. Once the serial has been accepted, then try running as a regular user.

K450e motherboard replaced now says error code 00ce machine type and serial number invalid

Hey guys i just got a replacement motherboard, after motherboard was replaced on bootup the computer says error code 00ce: machine type and serial number are invalid. How do i get rid of this error it was replaced by the same motherboard type that was previously in the system. How can i reset the bios or enter the serial etc? Lenovo tech support was no help.
