Query abt Nokia N72 quality

I recently bought a nokia n72. Its IMEI no i.e (7th nd 8th digit are 0 nd 2 respectively).
Heard that the phones havin IMEI no 02 in 7th nd 8th are made in emirates nd of very poor quality.
Plz guys help me.

I think there is no serious need for a antivirus software on a mobile with S60.
It´s not like WM that there alot of viruses out.
Uninstall any antivir software and enjoy the performance!

What type of files? Are they too big jpeg files? Try compress them in low file size and then retransfer them. Also check if the file type are supported by the phone.
I.E., if you encoded a video file with h.264/avc codec the gallery wont open the file.
It's very choosy in selection of file types

About time zone in Nokia n72

I have Nokia N72. My clock is set to GMT 0.00. But actually i am in timezone GMT + 5.30. and i have no idea how to change it in Nokia N72. I even tried putting "synching time with operator" option on. But then also it is not changing. Is there anyway i can put mobile on the right time Zone ?

if you dont follow the following steps,you will never be able to set my current city in your Nokia N72:
(in my case,I bought N72 in Beijing China and I live in Beijing,but it shows my current time zone is in Abu Dhabi in the phone,so I need to set My Current Time from Abu Dhabi to Beijing)
Step 1:
Menu----Clock---Options----Settings----Auto time update(set to off if it's on)----restart your N72(no need if it's already off)
Step 2:
after restart
Menu---Clock---scroll to right(use the navigation button in the middle),you can see world times---delete all cities(select options and then select remove)---after it's empty,then select options again,then Add city,select Beijing----dont move,select option again,now you can see "My Current City",select it,then a window pop up"Change phone time to match local time in selected city?"---select Yes---done!
At last dont forget to set Auto Time update back to on.

Nokia N72 modem incompatible with Windows 7

Hi All,
I have a 3 year old Nokia N72, in excellent condition except the paint. I dont have any problems with my phone as such for calling purposes.
But I do have problems connecting to internet via my PC running windows 7. All the drivers are correctly installed but the phone wont dial a connection. I get the error
Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).
Any help would be appreciated. I am going to try my phone in my friends PC running windows XP.
Will provide more details soon...

How do you connect it to PC? Do you use PC Suite or Ovi Suite? The phone can only be used as a modem through those programs. You need to enable and setup One Touch Access on Ovi or PC Suite to use the phone as a modem.
Connect your phone to PC/Ovi Suite in PC Suite mode, open One Touch Access, Select connect to internet, fill in the access point settings (operator dependent), and the you can browse the net on your PC once the connecting process is finished.

Need Help With Nokia N72 with 2Gb Memory???

I have Nokia N72 phone and just purchased 2gb memory. Somehow this phone does not recognize the 2bg memory. Anyone out here can help me, please. Do I need to update its firmware or what? I don't want to purchase another 1Gb memory. It may be not work either. I would like to use this 2gb memory; so that I can store more video and pictures. Hope to hear from someone soon with good recommendation on how to make it works.

Could you please advice how it can be repaired & how much it should cost me for an original shield at Nokia Care center in Pune, India.

Only that Nokia Service centres/Priority Dealers in India are all third party private dealers and charge a bomb for a simple service or spare part.
I had a screen for a Nokia 2865 replaced some time back in a local mobile phone service centre and the price of doing the same in an authorised centre was 5 or 6 times higher than that.
Nokia wants to fleece customers by not giving them basic information about how customers can service their mobiles themselves. By the way, please mail me in case anybody has a service manual for a 2865 mobile.

I bought new Nokia N82 on 21/05/2008. Phone works ten days almost ok... of course I had to boot it some times during these days. Then I realized that N82 didn't save any photos/videos. Now the phone has been in Nokia's Care&Service point in Oulu about two weeks. I asked them when I will get phone back and they did't know. Before I had a Sony-Ericsson over two years and i hadn't any problems with that phone. I am very disappointed for Nokia's quality and warranty service.

i have had SE for many years before and i have had problems with their unit, it is basically the same with any manufacturer, you were just unfortunate to have a lemon...

Nokia N72 Call voulum is too low

3G service in Nokia N72

I have a Nokia N72. I want to run internet service from my device. The network service provider has 3G service. I want to know if Nokia N72 model can support 3G service or not.

Back in 2006 when the N72 was released it was aimed at being a lower priced equivalent to the N70. Like many mid range models back in 2006 it lacked the hardware that allowed it to use 3G networks.
So if you want 3G you need to buy a newer more modern phone as it is impossible to make the almost seven year old N72 compatible with it.
